10 Japanese cafés to visit in Singapore - SilverKris

"Located within Dorsett Residences, this café focuses on hearty sandos made with buttered shokupan (Japanese milk bread); though slightly pricier, the offerings are indulgent — must‑tries include a Hokkaido scallop cream croquette sando with sweet scallops, crunchy potato croquette, Karashi mayo, sriracha aioli and browned cheese; a Hokkaido wagyu sando with a juicy patty, Hamburg sauce and mayo; and a Nitamago potato salad sando pairing ajitsuke nitamago (ramen egg) with potato salad and fragrant truffle oil — finish with the signature cream buns." - Syahirah Mazlan & Joy Fang

A unique place with a cafe, florist and bar rolled into one. Located right next to Exit 4 of Outram Park, the place became an impromptu choice on a rainy weekend morning. We only needed coffee and I am so glad I made this choice. The hot cafe latte was just perfect. Not too hot, right amount of foam and the beans tasted perfect. Quite clearly the best coffee I have had in a while. Two coffees cost me around 14 sgd. The staff is efficient and polite. Definitely going back.

I was attended to immediately when I enter, when I had questions and followed up on my order placement, 5/5 for service. Tried matcha cream bun, chocolate bun, love the yeasty olfactory and taste of the bun before every bite, so rare and authentic! The taste is ‘not too sweet’ and it’s chilled at just the right temperature. The nutrition profile for each bun is on the label, thanks for this! Food 5/5. Will be back to try other items. Atmosphere was good, nice seating arrangement, ambience and background music. Overall would recommend this place!

Every weekend we walk past PIPES by HATTENDO and I always tell my husband we need to try their cream buns and food—but it's usually full. We finally visited on a weekday and luckily got a seat! We ordered the Iberico Katsu Sando and Hokkaido Wagyu Beef Patty Sando with the set (truffle fries + drink). The sandos were so tasty and satisfying, and the truffle fries were my absolute favorite—crispy and full of flavor! The food was great, the environment was cozy and clean, and the service was friendly. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes, especially the cream buns!

Was greated enthusiasticly and showed to seat briskly as soon as I entered. Ordering and payment is done by QR, efficient and easy. Menu is limited to a few sandos and burgers. Sufficient to have choice but not enough to make you want to try them all at once. Their new homemade lemon tea is refreshing and sweetened just enough, no astringent taste from tannins. Pipping hot fries were served before the sando, large portion with aioli dipping generously drizzled with truffle oil. Portion was way to large for a single person intending to finish a thick sandwich as well. Would be nice to have the option of a salad instead of so much carbs. Sando is a hearty size with a thick juicy cut of pork katsu. Crust is crisp and it's easy to bite through the tender meat. It can be a messy affair so I was thankful the server already brought over extra serviettes. If I had to nitpick, only feedback for improvement would be that it was heavier on oil and fats. These absorbed quickly into the fluffy bread and became soggy.

A relaxing and calm cafe. The sandwiches were quite tasty, and they offer a wide range of coffee. Highly recommended for coffee lovers!

yummy matcha, doesn't taste like grass (thank you) and it's like a little sweet and creamy? staff were nice too! I came in maybe 10 minutes before closing unaware, and they still allowed me to purchase takeaway. packaging of takeaway cup, lid, and straw of good quality too (cute bee straw)

Very nice, fancy japanese inspired food , very chill comfortable atmosphere, on the pricey side but totally worth it. House made drinks are on point, must try if you in the area.

Went on Saturday for lunch and not crowded. Service was good. Ordered iberico pork, beef and pulled pork sandos, with the custard pudding. The meat was generous and juicy, and good thing is the sandos are customizable. The custard pudding was super good and tasted almost like ice cream.
