Google
For airport food the ceasar salad was tasty! Hey im writing a review on it! Its an airport! Server was kind and offered ice and just seemed overall pleasant. If you need a meal pre flight this is a great lil spot.

John Leonard

Google
If I could rate this less than a single star I would: the food took forever to come out, had no flavor, did not come as advertised or described and even though it’s at an airport is overpriced for what you get. -2/5 very bad

Sal Davila

Google
Ordered the Hamburger. Bare bones burger. Bun, meat ,a slice of tomato, & lettuce leaf! No magic sauce, no special mayo, no mustard, no pickle, or onion slice. Nice size meat patty. Cooked to my order. Came with French fries. $19 or so. Fries were okey, but not a winner. I ate about half the meal. Boring meal. I should have gone to Burger King, just couldn't find one.

Michelle DiRenzo

Google
We just ate a quick meal between flights and the Cobb salad, Drinks, and hummus plate were all good. The service was quick and friendly and the manager Prince came over to check too to make sure we were happy. Best airport food/service we have had in awhile.

joshua singh

Google
Breakfast pork sausage was nice and brown outside, but soft and gooey inside. I told them it’s not cooked they said it was, and exchanged it for bacon , but my mind was turned off already. Waitress was nice.

Ari R

Google
Worse costumer service ever!!!! The waitress was very rude since the beginning!

Eric

Google
Looks nice, food was mediocre, service was rude/shady.

Wilson Chan

Google
Rude people, they served you depending on their mood! The guy next to me with excellent service, but I sit here with different service, no water, no one asking me anything at all. Better don't come here. Just pissed you off!

Jason R.

Yelp
I stopped in for a beer and burger before my flight and it was $52 bucks. Expensive, but the burger was good. Then on my credit card they charge me four times with all sorts of charges. Two for $20 bucks and another for $18 bucks. WHAT A SCAM this place is. Don't go here! I have all sorts of aggravation trying to get my $111 burger back down to $52 bucks. And their customer service number will not allow you to talk with anyone. What a scam! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! NO STARS... These people are scammers!

Yelp
If you have some extra time before your flight at the Jet Blue Terminal Piquillo is a decent choice to get a bit to eat. The food is good and there are a few good choices.

Yelp
Yesterday was probably the worst breakfast served in my life! I ordered scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and wheat toast. What was served was a dried out pile of little egg chunks that were brown and ice cold, and a biscuit. How long ago were the eggs cooked, 2 days ago? The waitress offered to get a new order, but by then I was not interested and got up and left. Too bad the ordering is online at the table and the tip is "conveniently" added when ordering. Never going back, there are several other options in terminal 5 for breakfast.

Yelp
I was super excited to have octopus at Piquillo but so disappointed in the chewy flavorless pieces of my favorite food. The roasted red peppers and gigante beans had more taste but still not good enough. I would've sent it back but BF was already mad at me for complaining about the Lyft driver having the WORST BO ever. He had a mushroom panini that he enjoyed. He's much easier to please. Next time, I'm ordering the Spanish marcona almonds instead. Waiter should have given us a credit but he was to new. Bad experience I'm back and I'm starving!! The Riesling wine is delicious but the food, not so good. I tried the ceviche and sent it back. Too spicy and too many red onions plus the salmon tasted 3 days old. I just ordered the pan seared shrimp without chili flakes. Wish me luck!! Shrimp was okay. Just 4 and they were doused in butter Kristen is a great waitress so she deserves at least 5 stars!!

Thomas C.

Yelp
The bartender was fantastic, but the food was horrific. My omelet with sausage onion and cheddar cheese was a nightmare on a plate. The eggs were completely brown and dried out, the cheese in the middle was not even slightly melted, and well just awful. The potatoes might have been good when they were hot, but that was long before they reached me. A very expensive meal I literally ate only the toast on. The toast was pretty good. The only saving grace was the bartender. She was super attentive and friendly. I'd come have a drink but never eat another thing here.

Yelp
2.5 stars. Passable for airport food at 11pm. The tapas are so so. Don't order the grilled octopus with beans. Pretty bland. Beans are a big mushy and the octopus is not that flavorful. The portion for the sweet potato fries is huge. A bit of Cajun in flavor. It looked a bit over cooked but tasted ok. Gambas ajillo was larger than usual shrimp cooked in garlic. Not served in the usual small cast iron a skillet so got cold right away. Can be more flavorful.
google avatar

Yelp
Bad service bad food - and very extensive. Why does jfk or jet blue or whoever owns these restaurants at jet blue terminal think it's ok to provide such horrible service/food?
google avatar

Anthony K.

Yelp
I wouldn't feed this "ribeye" to a dog. You think for $38 it would be half way decent. Do yourself a favor and do NOT go here. Took a solid 15 minutes for the server to come back after he brought a raw "steak" out. Hate to leave a bad review but this is a disgrace to the restaurant industry.
google avatar

Kathleen S.

Yelp
What do you when have to wait 3 hours at an airport? You drink wine! The wine here was just so so, but my gosh I had the best blue cheese ever here. If you're not a fan of bleu cheese in general I would definitely recommend starting off with the Valdeon on the menu. The portion sizes are HUGE... they give you giant cuts of cheese and bread. They serve them on rather large dinner plates Vs a tiny board. I would definitely recommend if you just want a glass of wine to sip on and a snack to share with 2 or 3 ppl.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good for airport food. I ordered the fried calamari and shrimp with chorizo and roasted peppers. The calamari was a much bigger portion and sustainable for one person than the shrimp. Light and flaky with spicy sauce. The shrimp was disappointing. The chorizo sliced thin and hard. My husband had the kale salad which came in a very nice portion and short ribs which he said were good but not worth $18. Out of all 4 dishes we ordered my favorite was the fried calamari. Drinks. We tasted different wines and I settled for their red sangria. Came out strong and I liked that it was served in a tall glass. Service was a little slow bit it wasn't dragging either. Our server was attentive. On the expensive side but so is the whole airport.

Yelp
There's no sense of urgency here.. and it's the airport. You'd think they would care to get people in and out quickly so they wouldn't miss there flight. I sat around for 15+ minutes waiting to receive a menu (there were plenty of people that worked there that were walking around). Ordered the Eggs Norwegian (Benedict but with salmon) and it was ridiculous for $17. The eggs were the best thing on the plate. The sauce tasted off, the english muffin looked like Thomas's English Muffins, and the salmon.. It was chewy and stringy. Not to mention, they gave me utensils - one metal fork and one clear plastic knife. The knife could barely cut through the salmon.

Yelp
Piquillo is definitely one of the better airport restaurants out there; I think that airport restaurants should be judged separately due to the limitations airports impose on them, especially speed of service. Therefore, this restaurant earns four (airport food) stars for its above average food quality and menu selection. When I'm departing from JFK, I like to order the cheese plate. You can pick five cheeses from a list for $25. They are all delicious and unique. The cheese plate comes with a fruit spread, raisin bread and a balsamic glaze drizzle. They also have dried, spicy salami available for purchase. Piquillo has a selection of sandwiches, as well as a column of cold tapas and hot tapas. I've liked everything that I have tried. I especially like the chorizo and shrimp. It is definitely one of the best options at JFK! The servers are always friendly and the food is served quickly!

Yelp
Place was a good spot before our flight. The wine and food were really good and the bartender was great. Recommended if your gate is nearby.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is easily located in the middle of The hub of terminal 5. Having overpriced food(glass of orange juice is $8) is to be expected but Luke warm coffee and horrible service is not. Our waiter did nothing but serve people around us and chat up ladies. We did not even get a glass of water during our meal
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down, the best experience I have had at an airport restaurant. (Please note the that this is 4 stars for an AIRPORT restaurant. I've never met a 5 star.) We had time to kill, and terminal 5 at JFK had a pretty good selection of restaurants. When we saw Wine Bar/Tapas, we thought, what a Tapas/Wine bar in an airport? Sold. We were immediately seated and the server, who had a cute, bubbly personality, immediately brought us 2 glasses of cabernet and 2 glasses of water-Very good. 3 cheese plate (Valdeon, Cana de Cabre, Tetilla)-good Meats of chorizo & soppressata-chorizo good, sopressata average Piquillo peppers (smoked goat cheese, grilled scallions, olive oil)-very good Chorizo-Sauteed (sauteed shrimp, chorizo, roasted peppers): we liked so much, we ordered 2 Pimientos de padron(blistered shisito peppers, sea salt)-a little soggy, but it was good and we ordered 2. My friend also tried the Sangria, too sweet for me, but he liked it Service had been super fast, but then the server changed and we had too long a wait and had to rush our 2 last plates to make our flight. Plus, we spent way more than expected. But worth it, knowing we had a 6 hour flight.

Yelp
Sad sandwiches, exorbitant prices. The service was good, though. A sandwich with one slice of prosciutto should not cost 13.50. Plus, the "chimichurri" was really Italian dressing.
google avatar

Marlene F.

Yelp
I had a few hours to kill before boarding and after scanning the menus of all the restaurants in terminal 5 I decided to give Piquillo a shot. I ordered the calamari frito and the bravas everything was well seasoned, piping hot and quite tasty. Prices are a bit steep but it's the airport. Staff is attentive and Sweet. I recommend this place and will definitely come back again. The portions are quite nice the Clamari was a little mountain of goodness as well as the bravas (potatoes). The aoli is tasty as well, for sure give them a try and enjoy!

Yelp
Four stars for the food, three for the speed (s l o o o w). But you have to say, JetBlue at JFK is still the most civilized place to change planes I know. We shared a (fairly small) asparagus salad, nice and crisp with ham and onion; I had salmon ceviche, great, and relatively generous, my husband had artichoke salad, again fine. Only prob is we waited 20 min for 3 cold dishes. But the people watching is not to be beat, as you're sitting on a main thoroughfare. Nice.
google avatar

Ross M.

Yelp
The three stars it has is understandable. This is extremely mediocre food at a comically high price, something that's all too common among airports. I'd give this place one star if it weren't at an airport; this is two stars for airport food, which is NOT good. Their clever marketing combined with my hunger made me fall for this place, but in the end, I wish I went with a Starbucks sandwich. For appetizers, we ordered the CEVICHE DE MARISCOS, and it was not good. The fish was very chewy and not fresh. We also had the SERRANO CROQUETTES CANA DE CABRA, and it was probably the best thing we had. Very flavorful and comforting. However, it isn't hard to make fried mashed potatoes with cheese taste good. I ordered the PANINI DE LA SELVA, and it was the saddest meal I've seen in a while. I almost laughed when the waiter handed it to me. The "salad" looked like it had been scooped up off the street, and the sandwich was two thin pieces of soggy bread with the tiniest morsels of veggies. Nothing notable taste-wise. My friend ordered the PAELLA DE CARNE, and it was mediocre and a good portion, but certainly not worth $22. This place is WAY overpriced, even for airport food. We left rather hungry and $100 dollars poorer! Unless you really want hot food and a waiter, don't eat here. You could have an equally if not better meal by getting a sandwich from the cold case and eating it at your gate.

Yelp
Had the best service at Piquillo and the food was amazing my friends and I enjoyed the Kale salad, the sea salt almonds , crab slider and Olives. Oh not to mention the sangrias were amazing and Adrian and Daina made sure we were well served. If ever in the JFK airport be sure to visit for a quick bite.
google avatar

Monica M.

Yelp
I had the "grilled" octopus, which actually tasted like steamed octopus with sour beans. The "crispy" potatoes were unseasoned raw home fries. Worst airport food I've ever had. Think about that, this is the worst at an airport! I have the waiter 20% tip because he was nice but the $28 bill before tip was not worth it.
google avatar

renje g.

Yelp
- Good for airport food - I think it's the best restaurant at the jetblue terminal - they give you hearty portions - our waiter let us taste plenty wine before we decided - waaaaaaay exepnsive, somehow brunch ended costing over $100
google avatar

Naadia S.

Yelp
Stopped here to have a quick breakfast. I had a tasty omelette and my mimosa was pretty potent . Syed was my server, and he was amazing ! Airport drama is the worst, I came in irritated and hungry and left full and tipsy definitely stopping by here whenever I'm in terminal 5. Thanks guys ! (4 stars because the hostess was a hot mess. Get it together girl..)
google avatar

Willie P.

Yelp
Food is good, I had the Choripan with chimichurri sauce. They didn't put the sauce so I asked for it and the waitress said to me .... oh do you want the sauce too. Her careless actitud ruined my lunch. The service is just terrible.
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
I came here for the breakfast and it was pretty good for an airport. I got the BEC and my friend got the Belgian waffles. Make sure to ask for the eggs hot. That was my main complaint - the sandwich was cold. The potatoes that came with the sandwich were warm, so maybe they were waiting for those to be ready. My friend liked the Belgian waffles, but make sure if you don't like whip cream you tell them you want it on the side.
google avatar

Div S.

Yelp
I didn't try the food but it was a good place to grab a drink before my delayed flight.
google avatar

Somin Y.

Yelp
I'm writing this review while sitting at the bar of this place. Very disappointing. Normal price range, decent wine list, but horrible quality of food. My friend recommended this place saying her experience here was awesome few years ago. Omg maybe something went wrong in the past year. I have ordered tuna ceviche - it was fishy, not fresh, not organized. Served on a small plate with a bunch of tuna chunks, cubes of cucumber, and mago sauce poured on them. I saw few photos posted here in Yelp - that must be few months or years ago. Dont expect it anymore. Told my server that I wouldnt finish ceviche and ordered instead small bites (one cheese and one ham). Cheese/meat plates were just ok, though pieces of bread served on side were disappointing. Just a glass of wine is enough. Dont order food.
google avatar

James F.

Yelp
I've come to expect airport food to be overpriced but I'd like to: a. not get sick b. be full for my money. $17 = three small tapas. The two ham croquettes were tasty but the size of tater tots. The calamari, while still small, was delicious, not rubber-y at all. The tiny clams were fine but gone in a blink of the eye. $14 = Havana Daiquiri Not worth it. For all the lavish descriptions invoking Cuba and Hemingway it tasted like spiked lemonade. An expensive spiked lemonade. The service was prompt and polite, more professional than typical "food court" type places. Pretty nice atmosphere and decor. The food quality is good to acceptable at Piquillo now just give us grown-up size portions.
google avatar

Fraser W.

Yelp
Food is good - although portions are extremely small given the price. Ordered the omelette tapas for $12 and received a tasty omelette which was finished in two bites (that's an expensive egg!). Also ordered the grilled octopus which was nice - but again at $16 I would have expected more. In all my bill came to $34.... and I left hungry. The service is exceptionally slow - which is fine if I'm sitting on the costa Blanca in Spain.... but not when I'm grabbing a quick pre-boarding meal. Plenty of other choices @ jfk if you're in a hurry.

John E.

Yelp
Had some, time before our flight. Decided to grab a quick bite. 2 seafood paella and one meat paella along with a Portobello panini. Who orders paella at the airport? We did and loved it. Staff friendly and service good. Prices fair for airport fare. Definitelly a good stop. Will try it again. Our server Carlos was quite nice
google avatar

Alix F.

Yelp
After an accident with the wait staff that ended with me covered in a drink the wait staff advised all drinks would be comped "so drink up". Well after ordering 3 more rounds only the first round was comped per the manager . The manager never came over to the table and made him self very scarce except when playing on his computer. If the situation had been handled differently I may have suggested this place.
google avatar

Colleen A.

Yelp
I stopped in for a meal between flights and sat at the bar to eat. It's a pretty domed space; very simple design. I ordered an expensive Albarino ($13/glass) and the 3 tapas for $17 special offer. There's a list of about 8 hot and 8 cold tapas you can mix and match. I got: 2 tempura prawns, 3 small deviled egg halves with marinated anchovy, and a decent size wedge of a tasty tortilla, although I couldn't taste the onion. The food was good, and I'd eat here again. Service was indifferent. It wasn't busy (only 2 other people drinking at the bar and a couple of tables in the atrium), but the young bartender/server showed no personality and didn't engage at all.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Amazing food... wait! Are we eating at an airport? He'll yeah! And it's sooo good! The price of a bottle of great wine is so the way to go, let's face it you're going to drink a bottle anyway! The tapas were cheaper and more robust than a Manhattan portion, the ceviche was amazing and served in a lemon base... the shrimp and chorizo was that delicate taste with a little pica in the chorizo. My Latin princess was blown away! I really enjoyed my medium ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection and sooo soft and tender. I now have a reason to delay dinner in the city for a JFK terminal 5 meal... thanks Carlos for a great experience and a wonderful meal.
google avatar

Dayna D.

Yelp
Charming waitstaff but my potato omelet was clearly nuked and not for long enough. Can't speak to the other food but that put me off trying another dish. I would have considered 2.5 stars if the food had just been warm! I should have ordered the cheese because you can't go wrong with a cheese plate, and do have a nice glass of wine or a refreshing cocktail because my cocktail was delicious! They are fairly generous on the booze which I appreciate especially after the horror story called JFK security screening.
google avatar

Gisell M.

Yelp
Everything was just ok. The waitress kept coming to see what I wanted to order, after they didn't have the pulled pork I wanted. I ended up choosing a burger and potatoes on the side. I didn't know the burger came with fries. The burger was decent, and the potatoes had an interesting sauce.
google avatar

Catherine T.

Yelp
Sat here for 42 minutes waiting on breakfast that never came. Everyone around us got their food but apparently steak and eggs takes and hour to make. They weren't even apologetic being that we had a flight to catch. I ended up leaving and just grabbing breakfast on the go somewhere else.
google avatar

Yelp
Surprisingly good value and quality food for an airport restaurant. Then again, we're talking about JetBlue's Terminal 5 -- which is intended to upgrade the traveler's experience. Once you get past getting seated (which is a problematic system), it's a lovely culinary experience. First, don't bother with going to what looks like a concierge desk right in front of Piquillo and the two other restaurants which flank it. The lady in front won't let a traveler who is a party of one have a table and will insist you sit at the bar. By-pass her completely and just go right into the restaurant. The wonderful waitstaff will try to get you seated somewhere. I ordered the ceviche de mariscos and the tortilla. First, the ceviche had very fresh seafood (octopus, salmon, shrimp) and a tasty marinade that wasn't too sharp or acidic. The tortilla was fluffy and had been cooked in a pan that was first coated with a thin layer of sun sweet tomato paste. It wasn't salted but the flavors could stand alone (i.e. the fresh potato, egg, and the nice little side salad of greens, dressed with a sweet and tangy dressing). Service was very attentive -- impressive considering the floor was worked by one waiter. He (Carlos) managed to take orders, bus tables and seat people without having folks wait too long. Overall, this is a great place to eat (comparable to a nice restaurant in Manhattan) without the crazy airport vibe.

Yelp
Getting to eat breakfast at Piquillo is one of the many pleasures of flying Jetblue or Hawaiian Airlines out of JFK. In the past we've enjoyed eggs, pancakes, bagels with salmon, and Greek yogurt sundaes but this trip we ordered 2 breakfast quesadillas, a bagel w/cream cheese, a side of sausage, and a Monte Cristo. Everything arrived promptly and was quite tasty with the glaring exception of the Monte Cristo. It never occurred to me...should never had occurred to anyone...to try to turn this classic variation on the croque-monsieur into a sweet treat....bleeech. That said, we've learned that the secret of eating at Piquillo is to be completely unsubtle about flagging down the waiter and getting the check. They are quick to take your order and quick to deliver the food but have ignoring you thereafter down to a fine art. Would this be a 5-star restaurant outside an airport terminal? Yes...assuming that the prices would be cut by a third to match the new location.

Yelp
On our morning flight to Los Angeles, we were starving and my husband was craving breakfast. We sat down here and was pleasantly surprised at what we got. I didn't even get a chance to take any pictures since we dug in right away. I got the Home Run: reasonably priced around $14-$15 dollars, as NYC brunch places would charge just as much. It came with two pieces of French toast, which were flavorful, a little hint of butter and cinnamon. Home fries which were perfectly cooked, and scrambled eggs. The eggs were actually real eggs, not the powder kind either! For some reason I was surprised but I guess since this is considered an actual restaurant, and not a hotel breakfast, they would give you something better. Either way I was pleasantly surprised. Even was a little runny in some parts, just how I like it. The biscuit was hard, and the pork sausages were delicious and juicy. It was odd that the dish did not initially come with maple syrup, considering it had French toast. Maybe it was just randomly forgotten this time. They give the smallest ramekin portion of ketchup. Maybe they worried that leaving ketchup on the table might make people get too greedy with their ketchup needs? Even worse, the ketchup must have been refrigerated as opposed to dispensed when a meal is ordered, because it was sticky and gelatinous. Kind of gross to eat with the hot potatoes. My husband got a simpler breakfast of just home fries, eggs, and a biscuit. I can't recall if it came with toast or not. Whenever we happen to be in this terminal, I would definitely come back for a hearty breakfast.

Yelp
I had a long layover in JFK and after looking at the different dining options, I was craving some tapas. There was an open spot at the bar so I decided to take a seat and was greeted rather quickly. I ordered a pint and took a look at the menu. The beer took a little while to come out but the food took even longer. I ordered calamari and some cod fritters and the portions were very different. There was a mountain of calamari which was a bit greasy and just a few fritters. At this point, I needed another beer which took a while to come out. The bartender must have been the only one working because of how long it took. When it came time to pay, I put some payment on my card and was going to pay the rest cash to include some for tip. The bartender took my entire 20 which included 14 bucks as a tip. I tip well but this definitely wasn't worthy of that. He refused to look back at me when I asked for change. Terrible business

Yelp
This is by far the best breakfast option in terminal 5. The food is very good, fresh but that comes at a price. I had the breakfast quesadilla, egg bacon and american cheese (side of guac and pico). It also came with breakfast potatoes, very good. At $5 a glass for fresh OJ with the quesadilla it was right at $20 without a tip. They did have a few cheaper options like a bagel with cream cheese, I think that was $5. The service was prompt when we sat down but slow following, I would recommend a min 30 minutes to spare from the time you are seated. There was a Dunkin and a Starbucks in the area as well if you want to go that route...

Suzy Q.

Yelp
Gross burned dried out tortilla ($12) (they initially forgot it and when they gave it to us, it was horrible), 3 meatballs that taste of chemicals ($16.50) and a single small empanada for $12 that definitely tasted frozen? Bad bad bad. Stay away. It's an airport sure but come on. I can get a $3.00 burger that tastes better than these tapas. The acoustics are also strange - it's in a tunnel so you hear the people at the end of the bar as if they're sitting next to you. On the plus side, the servers were nice and the alcohol can't be screwed up.

Yelp
We were excited for some good tapas; everything about the ambiance of the place suggests that the food would be delicious. Our server couldn't have cared less about what we were looking to order, after we spent about 10 minutes deciding on what to get, she came over and pointed out that they only had the menu items that had a (hand written) check next to them. OK, so we placed our order and did not get what we asked for. The sandwich we ordered was supposed to have ham, chorizo, grilled onions, and cheese...it came without the ham. Only after an observant manager caught the disappointed look on my wife's face, did we start to get better service. He came over asked what was wrong, and what could fix the situation. He promptly did so. That is the reason for the 2 and not 1 star. Little stuff, like I ordered a coke, and for 3.25 for a small glass of coke I would expect the waitress to refill it the second it was empty. Not the case. It took the manager to do that for me. MORAL OF THE STORY: If you're at JFK, and looking to get ripped off at a restaurant, don't get RIPPED OFF AT PIQUILLO! Cheers.

Bert P.

Yelp
This place really wasn't as bad as these other reviews are saying, in my opinion. Especially for a spot in an AIRPORT! More airports should have a few restaurants like this... First off I think some of the other reviewers don't quite get the concept of tapas. If you are ok with multiple small plates of food that's really just there to accompany your drinking and you're not expecting giant USA sized portions of everything then you'll be ok. Scallops with chorizo were great and so was the calamari. The ribs were a nice portion also. The clams, although good, were the only portion I though were laughable even in tapas terms. Yes it's a little pricey, but it's like sushi. Small portions, big flavor. Sorry, if you want mega food, go to TGI Friday's.

Yelp
My normal airline's (jet blue) terminal is right next to this place so I like waiting here instead of waiting in the terminal with kids running around and suspicious characters ready to board with me. Maybe I just like to sit at a bar. Yea, that's probably it. I must be lucky. I've always had good luck here at piquillo, and love the food. The bowl of black and green olives in a light olive oil are SOoo good and a great way to start (if you have time). My usual lunch is the lightly fried calamari sandwich with a spicy mayo and green lettuce with finely diced tomato on a crispy baguette. MAN that's good. The broiled lamb chops were excellent as well, but I'm partial to the squidwich I described before. Plus the sandwich is more of a quickie while under the gun for time IMHO. Spanish interior makes it different from any airport bar I've ever been in. You basically sit in a huge tiled cylinder laying on it's side ( if that makes sense ). Not extremely expensive given you ARE in a airport. Always clean and a friendly staff. All in all a great experience in an unexpected place. Unfortunately, LaGuardia is closer to Manhattan and there's no Piquillo in that airport.

Yelp
Where is Chef Ramsay from Kitchen Nightmares? Please!!! Someone find him and bring him here --- immediately. Yes, the food is that bad. Save your money and just get some pizza. For starters, I ordered a glass of wine. It wasn't bad, but the glass was half empty. How about getting smaller wine glasses or just filling my entire glass with wine? I ordered 3 tapas (calamari, bread with tomato and shrimp) and the lamb tapa. Shrimp--- There were only TWO shrimp. This was probably the only decent part of the meal. Calamari--- It had a very bitter taste. I think the wine they cooked it with just didn't go with the calamari. I could eat anything, but this thing was uneatable and I had to return it. Bread with tomato---It more like bread and tomato paste from a can. The bread was really stale. Since I returned the calamari, they replace it with the ham croquettes. It was more cheese and no ham. It was also a bit too runny and the croquette had a burnt flavor. It felt like a burnt croquette filled with Alfredo sauce. Eeekk. I had to return the lamb TWICE!. I ordered it medium rare, but apparently the cook doesn't know what medium rare is. The first time, they over cooked it. The second time it was still a bit overcooked but you can see a little bit of blood. Well technically, it was BROWN and not red. The lamb must have been really old and had odd smell. I can tell when the meat has just been sitting there. The poor waiter just took it away and threw it away because he knew it was a bad dish. Service wasn't so great. The bartender/server was all over the place and seemed overwhelmed. At times he would no where to be found and another server had to take care of me. I'm not sure if he was in the kitchen or bathroom. Overall, avoid this place at all costs. Save yourself some $$ and eat somewhere else.

Yelp
Got delayed again at JFK and was fortunate to stumble onto Piquillo at Terminal 5. Milagras greeted us and recommended a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc rather than the one I requested because my selection was not chilled. It was one hit after another our favorites were the Tapas Shrimp and Garlic and the frijoles. Two hours of pure enjoyment to make a delay enjoyable. Thanks

Yelp
Prices are good and they have a good variety of tapas on their menu. Had some cheeses, paella (too salty), dates con jamon, and mango tuna ceviche. The dates were my favorite. Service is very, very slow. If you are at a table, you will have to go up to the bar to order because they will not come around to you. And when you go to the bar to look for someone, everyone would be hiding in the back. Service here needs to step up.
