"Pirate’s Bone Burgers, the vegan restaurant he opened in Kansas City, Missouri, earlier this year. Here, in the high-traffic Crossroads neighborhood, Sauza slings juicy beet burgers and fries topped with melty cashew cheese. His deftly executed plant-based menu and determination to build a welcoming space set him apart. 'It has definitely opened a lot of eyes as to whether or not people want more vegan food here,' Kansas City food writer April Fleming says. 'I think it’s clear by the response that people do.'" - ByEric Ginsburg

Honestly amazing. This vegan food was so so good. It's nice to get vegan food that replicates flavors I loved but also is unique. The breakfast burger was unique and so good and the buffalo fries were amazing. Staff was super friendly. Chill environment.

June 2022. Ordered the Herbivore style fries, Buffalo fries, classic burger, Oreo milkshake and strawberry milkshake. Everything, but the burger was good. Definitely try the fries and milkshakes. The burger wasn’t cooked all the way through and it just made the entire thing gross (see picture of pink patty). Took a few bites and it was tough to eat, most of the burger was left untouched, inedible. Ask for the patty to be cooked very well if ordering. There’s a paid parking lot across the street or street parking.

We ordered the special fries and two burgers. The one in black bread was the beans and carrots and omg it was delicious!!! The other one was really good too, with a texture and flavor a lot more similar to meat. Everything was so good and they were so nice to us. Definitely I’m coming back. I wish they also had some dessert but they don’t. They do have some good drinks, kombucha, Fresca…

Enjoyed the back patio seating on a beautiful Friday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised at how fantastic it all was. So fresh, so good. Got the double, and our party of 7 all had different burgers that were equally impressive. The fries were some of the best I’ve had anywhere in the city. Not much dialogue took place as we all enjoyed every last bite. I’d walk the plank for seconds.

Delicious!! I love having a great place to get tasty vegan options in the city. I am inspired by the owner's story, and the journey involved in how Pirate's Bone Burgers came to be. I had the beet burger and fries with cheeze. It was exceptional!! I'm looking forward to trying everything else on the menu eventually!

Fron what I can tell Pirate's Bone is a new addition to the fast growing vegetarian restaurant chain. I took my son and wife here on a Friday night near closing and was pleasantly surprised at how busy they were near closing. If you don't know the area very plan to walk from where you park because there is very limited parking in the area. The location is great as there will soon be new lofts built on the corner to bring new traffic to the area. The staff was lovely in helping my wife and I choose from the uncommonly delicious sounding menu. My ten year old son even order some food and he was not felling great that evening. After having a little of everything on the menu I would have to say that I believe Pirate's Bone is a great little resturant that I hope makes the cut for the area. - limited seating - limited parking - large kitchen - fast turnover for your meal - AMAZING STAFF - cost effective

We tried four burgers here and everything was delicious. Black bean and Sriracha chix were one of the best and next would be Beet and last choice would be the classic beyond plant option. This place has taken the top spot now in our list for vegetarian burgers. Only other place that has these many veg burger options would be Casbah in Lawrence. Staff were very friendly and provided great service. Only downside is limited seating, so be prepared to make it take out if you go during peak time or wait for seating.

Absolutely delicious vegan food served by a friendly staff in an open counter service style restaurant. We absolutely loved it! The burgers were perfect. I'd recommend the KC style fries for anyone visiting - they have that delicious KC BBQ sauce that the city is known for.
