Pirates Cove Restaurant and Dock Bar

Four of us went here for lunch, during the week. The food, especially the shrimp salad sandwich, was excellent! Our server checked on us frequently. And the view was so relaxing. I love the pirate theme in the restaurant. We will return. There is a small hotel next door, which I can't comment on as I have never stayed there.

Great food with amazing views! While the service is a bit harried, we didn't fault them. Weekends are crazy. So chill out with some great food & beverages and enjoy the vibe!

Our New Favorite on the Western Shore. Tucked away in tiny Galesville, Md this has to be the top place on our to go list. Gina the server was exceptional. Quality food and atmosphere. Clean and very spacious with options for indoor and outdoor dining. The Seafood Lasagna was unbelievable and the price was very reasonable.

We went there today after a long day fishing! The food was wonderful and quick service! Our waitress Madison was super amazing! The kitchen was fast and so many helpful hands! Thank you for the wonderful experience! We will be back!

Pirate’s Cove in Galesville is an absolute gem! The loaded-baked potato salad is packed with flavor—creamy, perfectly seasoned, and a must-try. The grilled seafood Caesar was equally delightful, with fresh, tender seafood that truly elevated the dish. The staff made the experience even better—warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. A special shout-out to junior hostess little Nina, who was our evening delight. She ended our meal with a sweet touch: a handwritten note thanking us for coming and asking for our return. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the night even more memorable. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

The food was delicious. We ordered from the Happy Hour menu and you must try the beignets for dessert. Sitting outside beside the dock, the atmosphere was very relaxing. Jen, our server, was attentive and very personable. Be sure to sit in her area. Jason Bishop was performing. He is both talented and entertaining.

We arrived about 5pm on a Friday and enjoyed an outstanding dinner on the deck. We didn’t stay in the guestrooms as we live locally. Love the restaurant. I believe our server’s name was Bryan - friendly, fun, and polite.

5 stars!!!! I love their Mac and cheese! The service is INCREDIBLE!!! I think that this is a great place to eat! The riverside dining is GORGEOUS! I love to go there with my family and watch the sunset in the summer and just have a good time. I LOVE how they give you those eye mask thingys or whatever they are called!!! I have so many! 5 stars 100% would recommend!

I enjoyed my shrimp scampi but it was prepared differently than what I'm used to. Nonetheless, I recommend it. Others in our party really enjoyed the meatloaf. I had wine from the happy hour menu and it was fine for the price. We couldn't enjoy the view because is was dark this time of the year. Service was prompt and efficient.

1st let me say I love that this on the water! That just stole my heart! There is a tiki bar if you want to sit outside instead of being in the restaurant. The restaurant has outdoor and inside seating and a bar area. We had the Chesapeake flat bread pizza. It was so yummy. The crab dip is the sauce topped with shrimp and cheese. My entree was the crabcake. It had a very good taste and if it wasn't for the veggies and baked potato I probably could of ate 2 of them. I definitely recommend this restaurant for some great dishes!

Came here with my family one rainy Sunday and had a great time. Started with the Cream of Crab soup which was a nice combination of crab and was not too salty or too lemony! Our waitress was very helpful and friendly! I asked for extra cherries and on my Shirley Temple and she gave me 7 which was funny and nice! I was not super hungry so I got the flat bread app which had shrimp and crab dip and it was very filling that I took it home and finished later.

I've been to Pirates Cove in the past before Covid but it had been awhile since I have eaten here. I did notice the interior is bright and the place is huge! I noticed it has been remodeled and more people were eating there. In the past, it was quiet and not too many customers. We met up with friends and our server Tiffany was very pleasant and friendly. She recommended the prickly pear crush and raved about the beignets. She was so right about the beignets. They were light and delicious and the raspberry sauce was a nice touch!

We went there for our anniversary and arrived by 3:30 so we could be sure and get their daily special before it sold out. When we arrived, we were told it was already sold out! So, I ordered the steak salad, which was awful! The steak pieces had absolutely no seasoning on it and we're as tough as leather. There was barely any salad dressing so I had to keep asking for more. It was on a massive pile of greens that no one could ever eat, except maybe a cow. Terrible!

We had the best meal here after a day on the water! Our table on the side porch was perfect to accommodate our two young children while mom & I took in the view. Everything we ordered was delicious! We started with the kids chicken tenders, wings, and mussels, all of which were great. Everything fried was perfectly done! Our entrees were the generously portioned steak salad and my favorite, fried shrimp dinner. The fried shrimp are the best I've had in the area. We will definitely be back!

Can't wait to go back for the fried shrimp platter. Food, service, and vibes were all great!

We wanted seafood by the water so we stopped by Pirates Cove for lunch. It has two side ls to dine,m. An outdoor/dock bar and a inside restaurant. It was cutely decorated. They played 80s music throughout the restaurant and had breathtaking water views! We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. We had the fried green tomatoes, half Maryland crab soup and cream of crab soup, house garden salad, crab dip, mini crab cakes/balls, and a baked potato. I need to mention that the scallions I received were dried out. The salad seemed a bit wilted and the tomatoes were mushy. The baked potato was not completely cooked. The waitress quickly took it off the bill and whisked it away with no questions asked. The stars of the cuisine were the crab dip and the mini crap cakes/balls. They were so good and full of flavor. I enjoy most of the food but the views were spectacular!

Such a hidden gem; out from California for work and a colleague recommended this place; great vibe overall, definitely a locals hangout, patrons not too friendly but I respect that. Staff were all outstanding and very helpful! Have Sarah make you a skinny jalapeño n cucumber margarita; great sipping cocktail!

This place has a great view of the water and plenty of sail boats. The cream of crab soup was fresh and ham plenty of crab in it. We got fried shrimp and it reminds me of long John's silver but even better. Will definitely be back

Good food and attentive service. Server was very helpful answering menu questions. Cream of Crab soup was great as were oysters on the half shell. Quickly seated outside with a view of the marina.

I really had a great server, great crab soup that was a combination of cream and vegetable crab. The grabby crabby is a wonderful and the best is the beignets in Maryland. The reason for only 1 star is the 3% charge for using a credit card. I would rather have the restaurant raise prices by 3%, plus was not advise the penalty for using my credit card.

First time visiting this place after our family road trip and it was the best. Upon arriving you can hear great live music from the open bar area. The place was nice and had great views to the docks. Our server was very attentive and helpful and our food was very tasty and had great portions. My son ordered the chicken tenders and fries, we got two rounds of the mozzarella sticks because they were bomb! And I got fish and chips and we also ordered a soup and our drinks were also very good. Overall the experience was pleasant and we will definitely return again. Thanks

It's a decent place scenic dining room. Very nice staff foods. OK nothing spectacular. A nice lunch. It's certainly not inexpensive. They add 3% to your bill for a credit card and when I went to pay cash, they said let us take the 3% off, which was like, the hell time put it on before you give it to somebody but the waitress just keep it. I'd probably go back but I'm not gonna go out of my way to get there.

Seafood was excellent. Fresh ingredients and prepared well. You can tell a real chef supervises the kitchen. Service was excellent and friendly. We are coming back

We went on a Sunday night for live music at the bar. Drinks were delicious love a tiki drink with a dark rum floater. We had 3 very good spoetizers the mini crab cakes was my favorite. We saw the shrimp salad be delivered to table next to us and decided we needed one too. I am so glad we ordered it was fabulous.

We had dinner at Pirates Cove this evening. While the traditional beef patty often reigns supreme, every now and then a culinary gem comes along that challenges the status quo - enter their daily special "shrimp burger". I actually ordered a double shrimp burger and was very glad I did. While a single shrimp burger (6 oz) would have been sufficient, the doubling literally doubled the pleasure. The combination of ingredients combined with the freshness and sweetness of the shrimp made this burger exceptional. Normally, I would make this at home, but the culinary creativity the chef applied to this shrimp burger and the reasonable price they charged makes Pirate's Cove a welcomed alternative. The service was also great. I hope this dish makes it on to the regular menu.

For the 2024 season, the owners have invested in a beautiful interior remodel! The food is good and service is friendly. We always enjoy ourselves

Saturday evening parking was a little more difficult than expected for a group of 6 but the atmosphere and service made up for it! Candice and Bee were wonderful, sweet, fun (and stunning girls!) They both kept checking on our table frequently to ensure we were all taken care of and Candice made delicious drinks! We also noticed how caring and attentive they were to other guests, as well. Will definitely be back at the dock bar all summer to see them! Great teamwork!

Fresh and tasty seafood - good selections too. The crab chowder is to die for. It a nice waterfront restaurants next to West River Yacht Harbour. I wish they have Tesla EV charger though. Would be a great place to stop and get good food /drinks while waiting for the car to 'charged up'. The owner should think about this addition for extra revenue since I saw many Tesla while I was in the area but there was no charging station.

We stopped here Monday evening for a quick dinner. We were so impressed with the quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere. We were provided exceptional service from Megan, our server, and Carl the bartender was awesome as well. We had crab cake appetizers, fried shrimp, old bay wings, And all were delicious. I believe this is our new favorite restaurant.!

our server was the only nice thing about this evening, she was enthusiastic and friendly. The salmon was dry and overdone. Drink was too strong. A credit card fee was automatically when we intended to pay cash. They seem to tack on fees for everything- separate checks, split fee. This was always one of our favorite places but no more

Great experience!!! Amazing staff and hostess, good to see that this business supports our local high school students in employment, teaching them very valuable life skills. Food was amazing, drinks are even better!!!! Great atmosphere and ambiance!!!

Service was great, food was delicious but the noise was horrible. Visited on Friday evening for reservations at 6:30. Table was not ready. Staff was really nice and friendly and appreciated me waiting. We could barely hear the band with the talking. Very very very loud! I ordered the fish and chips-was really good! My server was so nice and friendly-I tipped 30 percent! Got home and looked at final receipt to scan in, they have a small disclaimer at the bottom that all patrons paying by card will be charged a 3 percent fee! Md residents are taxed to death! With large alcohol tax and food tax, charging customers 3 percent is unacceptable. What a rip off. People don't have to eat at Pirates Cove-should absorb CC fees because of the volume of business. I should have charged them for a migraine from the loud noise! I won't be back!

Tried the Cove Chicken Cobb salad today. It was generous and delicious. I would order it again!

One of the best crab cakes I ever had. Key lime pie was great. Great service. Awesome ambiance.

Parking was a little hard. It seems out of the way but not that out of the way because the parking lot was packed and we almost thought we had to go some place else, however I made a spot work. We opted to sit outside because it was such a nice day. We ordered the Oyster Rockefeller which was really good. Second time having it. Then we ordered the crab dip. It was pretty good. I've had better. I would not order again however if someone else ordered some and they offered I would partake. We both got the Seafood Trio. We we so full we ate half and had the other half for lunch. The shrimp was perfect. Not everyone can cook shrimp. The scallops were also good. It was my first time having red snapper and will not be my last. The rice was cooked to perfection. The view was amazing and the service was great. The atmosphere was laid back which I appreciate. I highly recommend Pirates Cove and will definitely be returning.

I was embarrassed at the food quality when I invited friends to meet me here. while the place has been beautifully remodeled, the food was as if it came from the frozen section of the supermarket. A Maryland seafood restaurant on the water with no local fish of any kind...all frozen? My entree was still cold in the interior, clearly was previously frozen. The desserts were particularly embarrassing, frozen little portions like you could buy at a grocery store. The one called apple pie was ridiculous, a tiny round of crust with some gooey filling. We have been coming here for years, what have they done with the food? It used to be good.

We took family here to celebrate a birthday recently and it was such a lovely evening. We had Alex (Alexandra) as our server and she was awesome. It could be my imagination but the menu looked a lot smaller than I remember, but I think it's been about a year since I've been so it's not that shocking. The food was pretty good, with the exception of the oyster Rockefeller which was riddled with shell. I'm not sure if it was an off night or just an off batch for the oysters but after the amount of shell I got I cannot recommend them. The cream of crab soup was delicious as always. We started in the bar since we were a little early and all I can say is have all your drinks decided, don't dare ask for a water after putting in the drink order or you'll have to deal with the bartender's unfortunate attitude. Don't worry though, she'll bark at you to get your whole drink order in from the beginning and if you forget anything, good luck.

Very disappointing my cousin found hair in her cole slaw. They offered free dessert but did not remove her order from the bill. The rockfish didn't taste fresh I sent mine back. Very nice location, food just average.

I wasn't expecting a ton from this place. My family came out of convenience as we were at a beach nearby. We chose this because it was close and had better reviews than other nearby places. It had a bit of a feel like old people would love it, but that's not a bad thing. It was very spacious and decently clean inside. We had the Pirate Punch cocktails, fried green tomatoes, and split the broiled seafood platter and it was fantastic. My favorites on the platter were the shrimp and the crab cake, which uses plenty of local crab. The scallops were a tad chewy, but still had a wonderful taste. The apple pie a la mode was a great way to finish things off. We were just visiting out of state, otherwise we would return again to get more crab cakes. The waitress was nice too!

Great service, fun atmosphere on the dock, and good food. My cobb salad was great and my husband enjoyed the famous burger.

Visited during Sunday brunch and had a good meal. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Cream of crab came out hot. Orange crush tasted fresh. The chicken sandwich was juicy and fries were crispy but could have been more hot. The shrimp avocado toast was jammed packed with shrimp and the cilantro lime dressing was awesome.

I had not been here for a while but went yesterday and it was fantastic. I had the shrimp salad - it was super tasty (a wee bit too much mayo) and they super generous with the shrimp! Friends had the beet salad and the crab cake sandwich-both enjoyed. Bonus of live music and tasty crushes!

I'm here for the seafood and the waterside location. That said, this restaurant is nothing fancy. Inside or out but the food and service won me over within minutes. I met for a girlfriends lunch. The restaurant was about a third full. Our server, Dave, took our orders and brought our food fairly quickly. Everything was correct ( and we all asked for tweaks to our meals.) The salmon was tasty and fresh but could have a little more flavor. My friend had scallops that she raves about (that's why we are here). I had an Orange Crush to drink. The best ever! Not sure what, but they must have a secret ingredient. Yum!! The key lime pie was disappointing. Very small and just meh. Overall I would recommend for the outstanding service and waterside location and views.

I was treated by my work family, to a lovely birthday meal at this fine restaurant. It's on the water which is an automatic thumbs up in my book. We dined in the picturesque outdoor dining area and enjoyed a variety of delectable seafood options. The crab soup and fried green tomatoes that I indulged in did not disappoint. I would recommend and would like to return.

And in conclusion...... Great food and service. In an age of lackluster, uncaring service the hostess and our waitress were both great. The BBQ sauce was so good that we asked if we could buy some to take home. Everything was great.

My wife and I went here for the first time last Thursday, May 18 (my birthday but I didn't say. I didn't want any waiter handclapping!! :) lol ) and we enjoyed sitting out on the dock overlooking the water. Very nice! I ordered the Broiled Seafood Platter (I think a new dish?) , somewhat pricey at $43 but worth every penny! It was simply the BEST dinner I have had in a long long time. Everything was EXTREMELY Delicious and PERFECT! ( from the delicious deep fried jumbo shrimp and large scallops, 3 oz crab cake, and honey glazed salmon, with sides of baked potato and mixed veg). My wife's crab cake she said was also excellent! As importantly, we had a FABULOUS server, and wish I could now remember her name. Rather tall, long black hair, attractive, and just the best! Including a great sense of humor! When I told her I absolutely loved the meal, she quickly replied "thanks! I made it!" ... we then both laughed! Please give her our kudos, (or even a RAISE! lol) She was great! I will be back, and probably to have the same dinner!! It was THAT good! The restaurant seemed pretty avg on the inside. Pirates has always been wonderful since the new ownership took over a number of years ago. A relaxed atmosphere on the water with very high quality food and good service. Everything I have had on the menu is great. This last time, we met Steve, the Menu Creator for all of their restaurants. He hand picked some items for our meal. My friend and I shared... 1. Fried Green Tomatoes (Nice and crispy), 2. Chilled Seafood Civiche (the shrimp, crab and scallops were steamed first because the American palate is not accostomed to the traditional Civiche method of cooking using lemon juice .) With tomato & vegetable mix, lime, avocado topping. I am putting that on my list for next time. 3. Shrimp Salad on Greens; wonderful! 4. Beignets for dessert. They were incredibly soft and puffy with raspberry sauce. We left full and happy!

Go between services. Attentive servers and fabulous vies of the marina inside but on the deck feels like you're in a boat it is so close. And the food.. crab stuffed flounder terrific!

Our favorite restaurant when we come to town to visit family. The cocktails are consistently well made. The iced tea is magical. We always order several appetizers and despite being full just have to order entrees as well. I consistently order the fresh orders and my wife get the hot crab dip. I ordered the BBQ Shrimp and grits my last two visits. It wasn't quite as amazing as the last time but still very good. I can't wait for our next visit.
