"Secreto Southern Kitchen & Bar is opening a second outpost later this spring. The new location will seat 86 inside and 50 on its patio, and will serve Southern comfort food such as fried chicken, grilled lemon basil jumbo shrimp, and seared pork belly with wild mushroom risotto." - Beth McKibben

From the moment we walked into Piraye, we knew we were in for something special. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor, and a subtle background of Turkish musics that set the perfect mood for dinner. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The master chief, Suleyman, explained the menu and offered excellent wine pairing suggestions. As for the food—wow. Every dish was beautifully presented. We started with the mushrooms and cheese qroquettes, which was incredibly delicious. For mains, I had the wagyu burger and Turkish beef pide cooked to perfection. We finished with their signature desert kunefe, which might just be the best I’ve ever had. Overall, this was a five-star experience from start to finish. Highly recommend for a romantic evening or a special occasion. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Had a lovely time at Piraye Kitchen and Bar! It's the perfect spot for date night, family gathering, or even a business meeting - cozy and welcoming atmosphere. I made a reservation just to be safe, and though it wasn't busy when we arrived, the staff was still attentive and productive. Our server was knowledgeable, which made our experience even better. I had the steak, eggs, and potatoes, and it was absolutely delicious! My friend went for the avocado toast, and they loved it too. Plus, the parking is free with plenty of spots available, which is always a bonus. Be safe and enjoy!

Piraye Breakfast & Birthday Celebration Experience Yesterday, we had a fantastic breakfast at Piraye while also celebrating a friend’s birthday. The cozy atmosphere and beautifully presented dishes made the experience even more enjoyable. The waffle, topped with fresh fruits, chocolate, and ice cream, was both visually stunning and delicious. The traditional Turkish breakfast spread was rich in variety and full of flavor. The service was fast and friendly, and the tea was brewed to perfection. Piraye is highly recommended for those who love Turkish breakfast or want to celebrate a special occasion! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)

All I have to say is go somewhere else and get more bang for your buck. I had such an underwhelming and disappointing experience here and I want to save others from having the same. Nothing frustrates me more than spending money on subpar food and experience and I left here feeling that way. On entering the space, it looks well furnished and upscale so I was looking forward to trying their food based on the reviews (which I know now aren’t for Piraye but Secreto) and the ambience. We were sat and offered water but after taking a look at their limited brunch menu, we asked for a lunch/dinner menu, which we didn’t receive so I had to go get them myself. (There was barely anyone in the restaurant but 1-2 servers so not sure why we couldn’t get a menu) For starters we had the calamari which was pretty good and had flavorful breading but it all went downhill from there. For my main I ordered the steak and Mac and my God I’ve never had such lukewarm tasteless food in my life. Even the hot sauce and tzatziki sauce could save the meal. Times have really changed because the picture of what I thought I was getting was FAR from what I received. The only thing that had some mild decent flavor to it was the charred Brussels sprouts. The main meal was so bad I didn’t bother ordering desert. The icing on the cake was getting charged and automatic 20% gratuity for such shit service and food. Our water cups were only refilled at the end of our meal when we had to ask and no one even came to check in to see how we were doing and how things were tasting (they probably already know the answer). My friends who ordered drinks had nothing good to say about the cocktails and mocktails either. I figured I ordered the wrong things (but why should there be a “wrong” item on your menu. If it’s on there you should be able to make it well) but I see from some of the newer reviewers that even the Turkish food isn’t great either. Again look elsewhere for a better meal and experience. Do not be fooled by the old reviews.

My friends and I went on a brunch date. One of my friends was late so the server kept consistently checking on us. It’s nice but sometimes kinda annoying. The brunch menu was typical brunch items but with a Turkish twist. We order steak and eggs , avocado toast, shrimp and grits. And a charcuterie board type thing to share. I tot forgot the name of it. Our drinks was good. Once our food came out, it was def 10/10 the shrimp and grits was so flavorful and saucy. I didn’t expect that from a Turkish style shrimp and grits. The steak and eggs was amazing good. Cooked to perfection medium rare. Chimichurri sauce that was on top was amazing. The ambience for the restaurant was def too nice for our loud people. Everything was beautiful. Bar to restroom. We did order dessert in the end and an Espresso martini but a Turkish style one and that was so good.

It was such a nice environment to catch up with friends and eat good food. There's fine southern cuisine as well as Turkish food options so a good variety for a group. We ordered an appetizer, entrees, Turkish tea and kunefe. I'm excited to go back and try the Turkish brunch. Staff was very nice and engaging.

The new owner is trying to stay true to the southern food base from their predecessor Secreto (which judging by the social media comments has a healthy following) and tried to bring in Turkish influence. I think this is a tough balance to strike. The breakfast was great and had a nice spread and tasted true to my expectations (recommend not being as stingy with tomatoes and cucumbers) but the lunch menu doesn’t seem to have any of the Aegean influence I expected from the new kitchen. A few kebabs thrown in with burgers and fried chicken is a tug of war I think neither wins. They will need to pick a side and do it well. Of course, given the lackluster Turkish food presence in ATL, I recommend Aegean style Turkish dishes, like a wide variety of zeytinyağlı mezes, fish, octopus, calamari, stuffed muessels, grilled meatballs, chicken kebabs, maybe, dare I say iskender or çağ kababi? Check out Cafe Istanbul in Chicago that does this very well. We will revisit to give dinner a chance.

The place is very nice and the decor is top notch. It was not busy and it’s in a shopping plaza so parking is what’s available. I met friends so we ate outside on the patio which it was a nice day. My drinks were good, I had the Mediterranean Punch and the Southern Passion. For appetizer, I had the babaganush which was ok, and I had the lamb shish kebab which was not good and was over cooked. Overall the service was nice and they gave us chocolate mousse cake to celebrate but the food was the best.

Yelp
I picked Piraye for our couples dinner... 2 out of 8 of us liked our food- salmon and casserole. The lamb chops and kabobs were all over cooked. The chicken kabobs were blah and dry. Service was SLOW! Almost 2 hrs to get our food. Slow on water refills and drinks. Tables around us all seemed to have the same sort of service. Maybe just an off night... super disappointing bc we paid 200+!per couple & we used to LOVE our group dinners at Secreto. They did comp us a bottle of wine which was nice but I had to ask bc the waitress said, sorry this is taking so long. One waiter said it was his 3rd day and they hadn't trained the management yet. Which made us laugh! They did bring one of the guys a new order of lamb chops in a to go container at the end.. bc he asked for rare and they were beyond well done... the first time and then again in the to go box. Again- hopefully just an off night... the trio hummus app was great! If we go back- will stick with apps
