"Spicy foods are not common throughout western Europe, but Portugal is one of the exceptions: Colonialism and trade brought chilies to the country, and they’ve held on to the heat. Chef Telmo Faria’s recipes at Piri Pica (“piri” referring to a biting Brazilian chili; ‘pica’ Portuguese for sting) shows the full range of Portugal’s love for spice: order your bird “piri-piri” if you like a little heat; “pica! pica! pica!” for the full sting." - Sam Chapple-Sokol

The food here is pretty good! Not super memorable, but still pretty good. We got wings with zesty sauce, spicy fries, and hummus as part of the six wings with 2 sides combo. The chicken was succulent and a great temperature. The zesty sauce coated all of the wings well. The spicy fries had a delicious spice on them, if I could buy it I would smother that on everything. The hummus was a bit salty for me and some of the bread that came with it was pretty burnt. The pica pica sauce and piri piri sauce are both so good, but I preferred the spicier one (I can't remember which that was!) The inside of this restaurant is clean and service was fast. You order at the counter and they being the food to you. Happy hour prices looked pretty good, I'll probably come back for that!

Fantastic to have another Portuguese inspired place in the city! The food was delicious, and it's an excellent value, the space is modern, clean and well lit, the bathroom was spotless, and our whole experience was great. Will definitely be back!

This place is so good. The chicken is juicy and tender, the wings are filling, the sauce is flavorful, and the salads are good too! The hot sauce isn't actually that spicy, I wish there was one more level of hot.

Delicious, healthy, chicken + sides. Went with the half chicken which was plenty for two people to share for dinner. Enjoyed the side of cous cous + slaw. I kept thinking I could just come here to eat the sides, so healthy and delicious with ample portions. So happy to have this as an option in the Mission when not wanting to sit down for this type of meal at restaurants nearby. Rivals Nandos (in UK) as my favorite chicken spot.

Wonderful place with easy menu and tasty chicken. Great place to grab a quick tasty bite. The sides are great too. I recommend the half chicken with a side of Cole slaw.

One of the best fried chicken sandwiches in San Francisco CA. Make sure you have a, Sumol Pineapple soda, to go along with the sandwich. 👌

Wow! Their crispy chicken sandwich is probably the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in my life! It was so tender and spicy and tasty! I loved it. The saffron rice was also nice. I like the atmosphere of the place. It’s casual, bright, and clean.
