"Rebranded from its old moniker, Everybody’s Cafe, this San Leandro strip mall spot is still run by the same friendly folks and serves the same menu of Filipino classics. The restaurant’s popular home-style buffet table is back, with certain items fried to order. Any of the rich, tender slow-cooked meat dishes are a good bet — the brothy, brightly vinegary beef singang, for instance, or the shrimp paste-spiked beef kare-kare. Pistahan is also one of the few East Bay spots where you can reliably get a halo-halo with the works (the ube ice cream, the leche flan, the entire panoply of beans and jellies) made to order at any time of day." - Dianne de Guzman, Luke Tsai

"They’re doing a standard set meal with already cooked dishes like their fan favorite sisig fried rice, but what I’m especially curious about is the $50 'Lutong Bahay' sets — 'a meal kit inspired by farmers market finds' — available in both omnivore and vegetarian versions. The omnivore set includes five meals, from lechon manok (smoked chicken) to lechon pancit with handmade noodles, plus a dessert." - Eater Staff

I finally visited Pistahan after hearing so much praise from my friends, and it was definitely worth the hype! Parking was plentiful, and there was no wait on a Wednesday afternoon, so it's a great time to check it out. While their menu offers a variety of Filipino dishes, their Kare-Kare is the star of the show. We tried the Beef Kare-Kare and were impressed by the generous serving of both vegetables and protein. The Lechon Kawali was also delicious and satisfying. I use to go to a closer Filipino restaurant, but Pistahan is now my go-to spot. It's definitely worth the extra trip! Pictured: Tocilog

I like the modern look of the inside of this restaurant. Was modern and was clean. They have a buffet here but ended at a certain time. The host was very friendly and did check up on me. The only issue I had was the food, I had their Seafood Sinigang, which had the shrimp. shrimp was a bit hard like it was frozen, the broth did not have enough seasoning, definitely needed more asim to the soup, I could barely taste it and needed more of it. The vegetables tasted okay, and their halo-halo was decent. For the cost of food to be really high here I expected it to be more delicious, but was very disappointed.

It was a great experience though we didn't try the buffet the silogs are really good!

Google
Was disappointed. I ordered thru doordash. 1. The filipino fried chicken was burn, dry and flavorless. It was so tough that it made my jaw hurt chewing it. 2. Their homemade "Mang tomas" was nasty, clumpy and you can taste the liver in it. 3. The halo-halo was a bigger disappointment, the ingredients were just half an inch of the cup, consists of one strand of coconut, 5 pcs of nata de coco, and no sugar. The leche flan on it tasted like nothing and was so stiff not creamy, the halo halo itself was so watered down. All i could taste was ube ice cream and ice. Like we can do better, this is not what a halo halo should be. If I could do 0 stars i would

Pistahan is a Filipino styled buffet. My wife and I were craving it today so here we are. The place is busy with many loyal patrons. The outside is not a particular standout but the inside is where the magic is. Their full selection of food made available were wide and if you are a fan of Filipino food they sure have quite a bit of selection and some more. Their offering included desert like an ube cake and an ube mix of soup to sure make your stomach sing. I liked the food and although I don’t know enough about their individual dishes, my wife who is fluent said they are extremely well made. If you are like me who wants to try all of their dishes without really committing to any of them, this spot is a must try. :)

Google
We ordered party trays, a bit pricey so we expected it to be good but what a disappointment. The beef kaldereta was very salty and chewy (looked like pork adobo) and the kare kare did not taste and looked like kare kare at all. NEVER AGAIN!

Google
I usually resent Filipino buffets because they're never good enough or they're flat out too salty. Pistahan is somehow a spot I'm excited to return to and bring friends when I introduce them to Filipino food. Proud to have this food in San Leandro. Worth a destination designation. Don't need to trek to Daly City anymore-- that's wsup Plus points, the kitchen sounds poppin like the titas are straight up fiesta-ing. Love to hear it.

Food was alright. Salty for me. The lechon was too fatty to almost no meat. I did the lunch buffet and $33 it wasn’t worth it.

Yelp
Pistahan is amazing! This is one of the best Filipino restaurants in the Bay Area in my opinion and very affordable! I found out about Pistahan from social media and saw that they have a Filipino lunch buffet on weekdays and a breakfast buffet on weekends. The lunch buffet is $21.99 and well worth it! I stopped in with my friend the other week and we were happy to see the delicious options. They have beef kare kare (My fave!), delicious lumpia, longganisa, shrimp tempura, bangus, menudo, ginataang manok, pancit, pinakbet, dinuguan, adobo etc. Everything we tried was fantastic! Service was also A+! The Tita working at the counter was also very nice and friendly. There was an entire party there the day we went, and the restaurant was great about refilling the buffet trays. For dessert they have ginataang munggo and they also brought out yummy cassava later on. I hope they continue to keep the affordable prices! I'd love to keep on supporting and spreading the word if they do! Masarap na, Mura pa!

Yelp
I've been here three times. Once for the lunch buffet and twice to order a la carte. I was very impressed by the flavor and the care they took to cook the dishes in the buffet. Stand outs for me was the mechado, beef so tender, and the sinigang, the flavor of the soup was full bodied and the pork was tender. The tempura was really just a lot of coating and not enough shrimp. They shouldn't even add that because it's a distraction to the other Filipino dishes. Another day I ordered the pancit sotanghon twice. It is really hard to find a good sotanghon and one that isn't so heavy on the patis (fish sauce). While I wish there were more other things in it, or sangkap, the fact that they even had it on the menu is good for me. I'll definitely be back again.

Yelp
This place is pretty good. I usually don't go out to eat Filipino food, because we have it at home. LOL. But this place is actually hella good. I knew it was good because my mom was putting it down. That's how I know because she's hella picky with Filipino food. They have a decent selection and I'm glad it's not overwhelming. The weekday one has no lechon, but it doesn't matter because the rest of the food smacks. I just grabbed a cup for the sinigang, i wish it was a little more sour, but it still gets the job done. The bibingka was pretty good, I think they added gelatin to keep it moist. The service was quick and prompt, the lola was hella nice and accommodating. The inside, was nice it reminded me if my aunties house. There's hella parking and a few shops around.

Leilani V.

Yelp
Came here for the 2nd time today. The first time we went, we tried their weekend breakfast buffet and today we're here for their lunch buffet. I'll start with my Lechon belly review. I like theirs better than most places that "specialize" in lechon belly. Here at Pistahan, their lechon belly is perfectly seasoned and not too fatty. You can taste the meat and crunchy skin in a perfectly balanced bite just like your uncle used to "lechon" a whole pig in your lolo's backyard for the town fiesta. The chef and owners hail from Cavite and I must say, for buffet faire, their dishes taste home cooked. There's also shrimp sinigang and ube ginataan with Bilo-bilo at a different station that I didn't get to take photos of but both are also tasty. They also serve a la cart and rice plates. Sitting her for lunch there was a lot of to go orders being picked up either by DoorDash or folks ordering for themselves to take to go. The place is very clean and packed up really quickly. Ran by the entire family their service is very much Pinoy style. Very hospitable, attentive and friendly. They also fill up trays regularly to make sure there's enough food at all times. As someone who knows how to cook Filipino dishes, i rarely rave about or review Filipino restaurants. However, I highly recommend Pistahan restaurant not only for their food but also for their service and cleanliness of the restaurant and their kitchen.

Mary Ann Rivera L.

Yelp
Came here with my husband. He's never had Filipino food before besides sinigang. The food was delicious, and the portions were huge!! Definitely 5 stars!!

Nancy P.

Yelp
Great Filipino Buffett gem located in a strip mall. The buffet is $24 per person for all you can eat. The food is plentiful and the quality of food is good. They have Leon water and coffee you can self serve. The selection does change a bit each time I come. I cannot come too often as I tend to overeat!

Angela T.

Yelp
Wow! I wish we had something like this in tri-valley! Good selection of Filipino food! I absolutely loved the sinigang, menudo, the ground meat (I forgot what it was called), lumpia, and ube bilo bilo! Too bad I can't really eat much that makes any buffet worth it for me. They also kept refilling the trays and soup which was awesome! Only minus one star because my husband really wanted sisig but it wasn't available for the buffet. And both noodle dishes were a miss for me. Not that flavorful. It's a little hard getting out of this area to get back on the freeway, but maybe because we're not from the area. Would definitely come back! I want more of that sinigang!!! It's been two weeks and I'm still thinking about it!

Yelp
We went to Bay Area for vacation. I saw this restaurant on Yelp and I knew I had to try it, I'm glad I did. This was my first time having all you can eat Filipino food. You go in, find a table, sit down, grab a plate, grab your food, enjoy and pay at the end at the counter. I like this style! All the dishes here was amazing! The purple yam soup at the dessert station was another level. I really wish there's something similar in Los Angeles area.

Yelp
I love reading because it easily transports me into a different world and setting just through words on a page. Cozy mysteries are my favorite especially if it is food related where bakers, caterers, tea, coffee shop or restaurant owners, etc. discover murderers often faster than their local police. Once in awhile when food is almost a main character itself like Tita Rosie's Kitchen Mystery series, it sets off a craving for that cuisine. So for Takeout Tuesday I paired the two together, food from Pistahan of salmon sinigang, longsilog, beef kare kare, and ginataang sitaw at kalabasa that I can pretend Tita Rosie whipped up for me, with a side of Blackmail and Bibingka. My favorite was the beef kare kare, the sauce so luscious, I just want to use every drop over rice. The ginataang had a good combination of vegetables in that creamy but not heavy coconut milk. The salmon sinagang was a bit too tart than I am used to and you can never go wrong with a longsilog plate. I would repeat most of these dishes but there are also so many other dishes I still want to try. They do have a buffet as well that would probably allow you to try more items but personally, I like ordering a la carte so I have lots of leftovers for the next day or two.

Yelp
This was my second time ordering "to go," and most of the dishes from that first order that I can recall approximately 6 months ago were inedible - pinoy fried chicken, chicken adobo, etc. I vowed never to come here again, but my co-worker was craving Filipino food and convinced me to give Pistahan another chance. I really wanted to love this place, but sadly, after spending over $65, I was disappointed in all four dishes that I ordered today: Kare-Kare, Sinigang, Pancit Bihon, and the Grilled Pork Belly rice plate. The kare-kare was disappointing. The pork was not "crispy" as advertised, and there were hardly any fresh vegetables. The Sinigang was extremely salty and overly "sour," and I could not enjoy the broth--this was the worst Sinigang I've ever tasted. The Pancit Bihon was super dry, and pieces of pork were so dry I couldn't chew them. I suspect it was old leftover pork that they threw in. Clearly, this dish was not made to order and must have been leftovers from their lunch buffet. The Grilled Pork Belly rice plate was horrible. Again, the meat seemed to be old, so it was hard to chew.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Friendly owners and staff. The variety of food is different everyday.

Dexter D.

Yelp
Buffet? Okay! Well, it was okay. The problem is that I'm no expert on Filipino food. I'm familiar with Crispy Pata, Lechon, Adobo, Pancit, and Lumpia but that's about it. The boss saw the reviews on Yelp and wanted to try it. I didn't do any research but went with her desires. We arrived around 11:30 and were greeted walking in the door. For Buffet, you pay first and then get your food. Lunch was $18.99 per adult. There were plenty of plates under the food table and bowls under the soup table. Flatware and various sauces were to the left of the soup. Napkin dispensers were on the tables. I selected items that I was familiar with. Passed on Menudo and Jackfruit. The selection was small as other yelpers have said but there was enough to make a meal. The temperatures and flavors were okay. The Shrimp Tempura appeared to be Shrimp that had been cut in half, lengthwise and then battered. The soup was really good. I apologize for not catching the name of it. There was another hot item next to the soup. I'm guessing that it might have been dessert, but I did not try it. We were disappointed that Lechon and Crispy Pata were ala carte only items but we would have learned that had we paid more attention to the other reviews. Apparently, they are also available on weekend buffets at a higher price. Maybe we'll have to try again on a weekend.

edlyn l.

Yelp
Came here because of their lunch Buffett. I believe it's from 11am-3pm. It was a reasonable price $23. There are plenty of tables and chair. Looks nice and clean. Workers are very friendly. We loved the beef kare kare and the misaw soup. They also had a dessert. We will be back! You can also order ala carte items.

Yelp
When my sister first told me about this place I was confused and thought she was having a fiesta somewhere but she actually meant this place. When she said Filipino buffet I knew I had to come here. My sister actually came here to hold a small reception for my niece's baptism and I thought it was great how they let her bring small pieces of decor for the reception which helped my sister set aside the area for her guests. When I entered I noticed how clean the restaurant is and I thought their ceiling fans looked really cool. The service here was also very friendly and prompt when you order anything off the menu like drinks and dessert. I haven't really had much luck finding a Filipino buffet I like but this place really hit the spot. When I was here I tried the beef kare kare, pork sisig, lechon, and lumpia Shanghai. All the dishes were really good and put us all in a food coma. Overall, if you're looking for good AYCE Filipino food check out Pistahan!

Cheryl M.

Yelp
If you like buffets, meat (not for vegetarians!) and Filipino food this is the spot for you... Pistahan was a second option (for Saturday lunch) as a friend and I made a stop at another Filipino spot in San Lorenzo. Unfortunately, found out upon arrival that it was closed for a private event. Noted...call beforehand or visit on a weekday Pistahan is located in the Manor Shopping Center in San Leandro and I've never seen this parking lot so full! Arrived about 11:45 and offered to sit at the counter but a table opened up just in time. Honestly, I didn't realize the weekend was lunch buffet only. Not a big fan as usually there's plenty of food options but not done very well. And I hate the feeling I need to take a nap after like it's Thanksgiving :) Pistahan had some good offerings. The pros of the buffet is allowing you to try various items: lechon, menudo, chicken adobo, kaldereta (sweeter beef stew), liempo (grilled pork), kare kare (peanut-oxtail stew along with pancit (Filipino noodles), lumpia, tempura shrimp, sinagang (sour/savory soup) and a coconut-tapioca based dessert Place gets busy by 1230 with a wait (popular with larger parties) and above average noise level. Food done well except the lechon. Skin was crackling but meat was dry and almost like pulled pork. For me, I will pass on their buffet and order a lunch special or individual items in the future. The chicken adobo, beef kaldereta and pancit were my fave items along with their lumpia. Weekend lunch buffet: $23 (drink not included). Note: My friend Hazel can confirm this spot does Filipino food right!

Sandra J.

Yelp
Food was flavorful. Loved the sauce on noodles. My family loved the crispy pork was crunchy on the outside and juicy (fatty) on the inside. Grilled pork was not burnt but had a child char flavor. Garlic rice was amazing on our rice plates. Good price for the large portions.

Kathleen W.

Yelp
After hearing about the delicious buffet they offer for years, we finally ventured out and tried it. The interior is quite comfortable and decked out with warm colors ~ We chose a booth and were quick to grab our plates to try all the items. My favorites were easily the pancit, lumpia and pork sisig. Majority of the food was incredibly tender and satisfying. This place is most certainly worth it to try out ~

Charae P.

Yelp
The cheapest Filipino food buffet in the East Bay! A good amount of selections to feast on, and lots of side sauces! The restaurant is decorated in Filipino artifacts, paintings, and more! It's also very spacious. They are open from 11-3 weekend buffets and Al a carte options! Definitely going back again!

Jo-An S.

Yelp
Pistahan is my favorite Filipino restaurant in the Bay Area. I came here for the lunch buffet, and it did not disappoint. Everything was freshly made, and they had a huge variety of all my favorite dishes. For under $25 AYCE, this place is a steal-- especially for the quality. Bicol Express, Kare Kare, Sinigang, Afritada, Dinaguan, Pinakbet, Adobo, Bangus (Milk Fish), Fried Chicken, Lumpia, Palabok, and Garlic Rice were all included. They even have dessert! I grabbed some Cassava and Sapin Sapin to take home for later. The service was great as well. I was greeted immediately upon entry, and checked on periodically. The restaurant is immaculately clean, and so is the bathroom. Seriously, go here if you are craving Filipino food. It is hard to find good Filipino restaurants in the Bay. Pistahan reminds me of my childhood, and the food is up to par with the Filipino restaurants I grew up with in SoCal.

Jaane F.

Yelp
If you're looking for Filipino food, here is the place you must try. We had salmon sinigang, pancit, pork sisig and etc. Their food is not too greasy and tastes flavorful. Their dishes are not over-salted. They also have a buffet for lunchtime, which is quite reasonable. But if you don't want a buffet, you can order a-la carte anytime. The parking here is also quite spacious.

Georgia R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and portion sizes! The owners personally greeted us and had a fun time listening to how they created their recipes. There's free, easy parking in the lot and inside has lots of inside seating, and there are TVs that show TFC (the Filipino channel) & sports channels too - at the time, it was basketball, my favorite!

May D.

Yelp
It saddens me how my family and I ordered the following to-go: - pork sinigang - chicken adobo And both were completely drenched in oil. The pork sinigang had little to no pork - it was mostly chunks of fat. I understand trying to save costs but the quality of meat shouldn't be one of them. When we put it in the fridge to skim the fat, the whole bowl came out. The broth did not separate from the lard. Same went for the chicken adobo. The chicken adobo's sauce was oily. The chicken also was in shredded chunks as if it was reheated multiple times and eventually fell off the bone and shredded itself. Ultimately, I'm highly disappointed. I'm all for Filipino food but this didn't cut it. You'll definitely need your cholesterol meds with how much fat and oil is in their food.

Ronald L.

Yelp
First time in a while for a Filipino restaurant. Didn't realize there was one nearby. Went to Pistahan for a birthday party and surprised they allow you to rent out the entire restaurant for a party. Small cozy restaurant with quite a few tables. The customer service is spot on and the staff was tentative. Thank you. Now to the food, they offer buffet during lunch hours and we were fortunate to be able to taste a variety of dishes that may or may not be regular dishes. The beef mechado and paella was good, I'd hope they wouldn't overcook the shrimp as it was mushy. The lumpia was different and good and the pancit was different and has more sauce than usual but it was ok. Chopsuey and Ginataang was good too. The sisit was a bit too spicy for me, but for folks who like spicy foods then this would be a dish to try. So if you are in San Leandro craving Filipino food then I'd give them a try.

Maria G.

Yelp
My daughter approved! She is picky and Filipino food is not her go-to eat place. She said it's like someone's granma was cooking with lots of Filipino love.. like her lolas we will be backsorry, photo not an IG photo. I was craving and started eating too fast I ordered palabok on menu - I trust it will be good too. Thank you to the cook. Was a great late lunch with my daughter.

Christine A.

Yelp
I had to update my review because I can't stop thinking about that bibinka. If I lived closer, I'd come here a lot more often. I have my fingers crossed that when I return to the buffet, longanisa will be there in abundance. If not, I'm sure I can order from the menu. Speaking of abundance, I appreciate the abundance of parking, the option to sit outside, and the fact that they accept cards.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Pistahan serves so many classic filipino dishes that are full of flavor. I've only ordered their dishes (no buffet) and I personally think it's of greater value because there's always leftovers for several meals. This is my to-go for take out. Order: -Ginataang sitaw kalabas: Favorite! I love the creaminess in the sauce and the squash is always cooked where it's tender -Sisig: Favorite! The flavors on it are incredible. If dining inside, it's served on a sizzling plate. I love the flavor in the meat and it has a slight kick -Pancit palabok: This one is good. I wish it was a bit saucier, but the flavors hit home -Pancit bihon/canton: Pretty good as a noodle dish. Flavorful and a classic pancit bihon/canton -Lechon kawali: Solid. The skin is crispy and the meat is tender -Beef kare kare: The beef is good. I've also had it with pork and I prefer the pork. It's practically the lechon in the same sauce and it's so heavenly over rice Pistahan is delicious and you can never get enough of it!

Gene S.

Yelp
I attended a party that served food from this place. Loved the sisig and kare kare. So we decided to dine in a week later. Ordered from the breakfast menu. Tocilog was good, but the grilled pork belly rice plate was under cooked and chewy. Also ordered the Filipino spaghetti and my grand babies (experts in this dish) didn't like it. It was soupy and half the pasta was not cooked well. Brazo and bibingka were also good. Service was ok. Got there when they just opened so everything was slow moving. But I don't mind. Place looked new and clean. Sorry for the 3 stars. But the pork and spaghetti killed it for me. But would come back to try the buffet next time

Bev C.

Yelp
First timers here. We were at the San Leandro outlet and tried to find a Pinoy buffet place. Price is ok but wished they included drinks (had to pay extra for soda). The food is on point with a ton of selection. The lechon was really good, skin is crunchy (just find a serving with less fat). I love they have ginisang munggo and ginataan bilo bilo. The place is clean (unlike some Filipino restaurants). We would definitely make the trek is we have time.

Matthew C.

Yelp
[IN A NUTSHELL] great filipino food, great lumpia taste and price [VERDICT] - APPROVED [RUN-DOWN] I cam here with a friend and I have to say this is such a family oriented restaurant. This place is really big and I love how they have Christmas decorations up. I think what I want come here for the future is to try their buffet, which I think is unique about this place. Living in the bay area, I haven't heard of a Filipino buffet which would be something I want to try in the future. The service was super nice and if you come here, to go or dine in, I highly recommend getting the lumpia. For a great deal and great flavor. There's not much about this place I can say but I think it is worth to try. I'm hoping to do a review on their buffet next, so stay tuned. [SCORE & ORDER] OVERALL: 3.75/5 * Beef Tacilog (Dried Cured Beef) $12.00 (3.5/5) -I have not eaten a lot of Filipino dish in my day but this was so good. The rice I have to give so much credit for because I am much of a garlic girl and this rice was so good. Crispy garlic in the rice was such a genius idea and I honestly really like it. It enhanced the the rice and added texture to it. The beef was a little on the chared (that's not a word haha but like imagine burnt but right before that) side, which wasn't that bad in my opinion. This beef was also a little on the sweeter side which I was not used to but actually enjoyed. I think the combination of the garlic rice and the beef was really good. By the time I knew it, the meal was done. I would recommend getting this dish. * Lumpia Shanghai $8.99 - 12 pieces (4/5) -WOW. These came out fresh fresh. They were so hot we had to wait a little to eat them. I've always loved lumpia and I can say that this place did not disappoint. The crunch factor was there and for that price, I think it is so worth. The inside was also filled with a lot of meat and had the right amount of flavoring. I am unsure of the difference between an eggtroll and a lumpia besides the size but this tasted much like that. If you look at the picture you can see that it was fried to perfection with a golden finish. I would recommend getting this dish as an appetizer. [SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE] (not reflected upon review score): Service was super good. I believe this is a family owned restaurant which was super nice to us and giving us suggestions on what to order. There was a mom and daughter that was serving us which was really cool to see. They kept inviting us to come to the buffet that they for their lunch special which I will come back for. The atmosphere is really nice. They have Christmas decorations up already which was super fun and cool. There is plenty of space and you can see the buffet station and the space has a lot of seating of booths and tables. They waitress was also super nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend coming here because it feels very homey. [TIME STAMP] NOVEMBER 2022

Janelle Z.

Yelp
Service was good. The food was a bit over salted for my taste but as far as Filipino food goes I really liked comfort Filipino food the served the day I went.

J C.

Yelp
Service is ok The space is too small. The tables in the middle are too close to each other. I was almost rubbing elbows with the guy at the next table as they had a bigger party. I felt bad for him as he had to sit sideways and weird to not block people who kept passing by him to get more food. Lumpia Shanghai lacked flavor. Not even the sauce helped :( Kare kare was yummy with the shrimp paste (I think this was my favorite) Pork sisig is our second favorite dish from pistahan Adobo is good, not too salty. Lechon belly skin was crunchy but needed more seasoning Menudo wasn't bad The tempura shrimp reminded me of box tempura from Costco Noodles was ok For pork bbq I prefer Nayong or even the Sunday ihaw ihaw outside island Pacific. Not sure what the purple dessert is called but the first time we tried it was pretty good. The second time it was too watered down. Had lots of banana though :) Overall I'd recommend this place for the buffet if you can eat a lot. Wasn't worth it for us as we didn't eat that much. Probably sticking to a la carte and at least have some leftover to go.

Alicia A.

Yelp
Wonderful place to try out Filipino food. They have a buffet between 11-am to 3pm. I didn't regret my lunch choice! What a clean place. The food so good so fresh. It's like homemade soul food. Wow I recommend 5 I will be back when I'm in the area.

Jessica G.

Yelp
$24 for an AYCE lunch buffet! I mean, I was sold already just from that tbh. Pistahan is located in a small shopping plaza near the manor in San Leandro right next to the old manor bowl (RIP). There's lots of parking, especially on a weekend morning when most of the other shops are closed. I visited for the Sunday morning lunch (brunch?) buffet with my family. My mom made a reservation ahead of time for a group of 8. When we walked in at around 11:15, I didn't understand why because there were so many tables open. But I'm the next 30 minutes, the place was packed. Classic filipino time haha. The buffet was stacked - pancit, chicken bbq, menudo, lumpia, shrimp tempura, their famous Lechon and more. Another table even had sinigang and ginataang bilo bilo. You could definitely get your money's worth here. And everything was so good! Just like my family's cooking. I only wish they had more options for desserts and drinks. You could order desserts though so you do have the option! As for drinks, you can get water with the buffet but I think you have to order anything different. On their menu they have sodas, juice (didn't specify so maybe it changes?), and gulaman. I saw a coffee machine but wasn't sure if they were offering that as part of a buffet.

Yelp
$21.99 for WEEKDAY buffet guys. My little one (5) and I wanted to eat here for lunch but man it's expensive now unlike it was before. We backed out and we went to GEN Kbbq instead only $19.99 for weekday lunch food is much better too

Yelp
Family owned ma and pa spot. Loved the sisig and the kare kare we ordered. Don't skip out on their desserts in the case!

Yelp
Togo so far from this ordered disappointed at the daing bangus with rice bangus was small. Although the Beef caldera was soft and tasty but pricey for the amount . Like the sotanghon and bilo bilo both very flavorful. I'm glad to see lots of people dining to avail the buffet. Will i come back, yes like to try the other menu!

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday late afternoon, caught the tail end of the buffet (2:15pm). Overall experience was great and hospitable. There wasn't any garlic rice or pancit left but the staff was very accommodating and made a fresh batch. Overall, the quality of the food was good, selection was wide, placed was clean. Definitely would recommend this place. $21.99 for lunch buffet (11am - 3pm)

Yelp
We had a day trip in Oakland and was looking for a Filipino restaurant prior to our departure back to LA. I stumbled across Pistahan and from the yelp reviews I needed to check it out for myself. To my surprise amongst the many Al a carte menu they had a Filipino buffet the day we went. For around $20+. They had a variety of dishes ranging from all type of different proteins (beef, chicken, fish and pork) with all of those staple dishes from Kare-kare, Dinuguan, menudo, pancit, adobo, kaldereta, lumpia , sweet and sour fish and for dessert they had Ginataang bilo bilo and champorado a chocolate rice porridge. Each of the dishes we had were flavorful and tastes homemade. Hands down one of the best Filipino buffets I've been to! The place is clean, with ample seating, located in a strip mall. there is something for everyone. So if you're looking for some Filipino comfort food. Be sure to check this restaurant out.

Yelp
I was craving for Filipino food and saw Pistahan on Yelp. I live in Belmont and we don't have any Pinoy places here (we used to have one that serves breakfast but they closed down). Not only does this place do lunch buffets, their food is legit homecoming. I went on a Saturday, and they had: Lechon Lumpia Shrimp Tempura Kaldereta Kare kare Dinuguan Bbq chicken Pancit Arroz caldo Ginataan bilobilo Rice (duh) I got there a little after 11. Place was really clean and there's really good ventilation. The people who worked there (im assuming they owned the place) are very attentive and they direct the customers to where things are (like utensils, water, bowls, condiments, etc.) The buffet table was easy to get around to. They also served plain water, and water with lemon. I would definitely go back. Everything was delicious, although I was not really into the Chicken Bbq because it was a tad dry. The LECHON.... man I would eat the entire tray if it was not deadly for your cardiovascular system. It was crispy outside, and hella juicy inside. I definitely had rice and pancit together and it was the bomb. The food made me miss home because it was as delicious as how my family made Filipino food.

Yelp
Heard about Sunday buffet with lechon, and feeling like a treat, decided on trying this $26.95 buffet. Place was almost full when we got there on 11:30 am Sunday, but got a table. Be aware some people by pass hostess and just stand by any open table, guess you can do this too?!? Staff may want to figure this out. Ambiance is very Filipino, nice accents, and lots of reminders of home, am Filipino too, you hear many speaking Tagalog. The staff is efficient in cleaning and addressing concerns. Last is the food. Foods was definitely Filipino, but flavors were mid-range. Shrimp tempura was too breaded, and lumpia was too big. Bihon noodles was good flavor and like that there was the porridge or lugaw option. BUT the outstanding item was the lechon! They use cebuchon style, and bring a fresh roll once it is low, we got to enjoy a new lechon roll. See that crispy chicharron like piece - heavenly treat for me. Overall good buffet, or skip and just go for the lechon!

Yelp
I use to come here a lot back in 2022. I hope they add more menu for their buffet because at Newark Buffet would be better to eat at for more menu than less menu at a Filipino buffet. There leche plan is good.

Yelp
This place is absolutely delicious!!!! My son, who is a Filipino food connoisseur, loved it so much. He said, it's probably the best Filipino restaurant in the bay. The lady that served us, is the mother in law of the owner I believe, she was warm and loving to us. Made our experience the best. Can't beat great food and excellent service! Mabuhay, pistahan! We will be back soon!

Yelp
The Lechon Kawali aka fried pork belly had no flavor at all. No salt, or any other seasoning. It was bland and fried. The longanisa with rice was just okay. The Kare Kare here if you order with pork will come with some fried lechon kawali on top, it has flavor but again the pork belly doesn't have salt on it so the flavors are off not as savory as it could be. Rice is good, egg was over medium. Unfortunately, I was not greeted when I walked in. I had ordered to go via doordash my food was hot and fresh but the flavors were just meh. I'll have to try this again

Yelp
We've eaten here a few times so being charged before eating was new. She said they charge before eating now. No problem. As we ate, I see an older couple come in and wait to get the lady's attention. She was putting to-go orders in order on the counter. When she looked up the couple pointed at the buffet and proceeded to get a table. They weren't charged. I waited a little to see if she would walk over to their table and charge them but she didn't. Why not? Not cool. Treat everyone the same, young or older. I was going to address it there but the hubby said it's ok. No, it's not. Be fair. Be consistent. It ruined my meal.

Yelp
OMG THIS PLACE IS SOOO GOOD!! I was craving Filipino food and honestly, I didn't have high hopes for this place. It is soooo difficult to find an authentic Filipino place where you can also sit down and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. The only sit down Filipino places I've found are fushion so that's a hard pass. But this place?? Everything was sooo good and authentic. I think I found my go to Filipino place. What we had: Daing na Bangus: 5/5. So crispy, so flavorful. I loved the belly!! I dream about this dish. Crispy Pata: 5/5. Same as above. Get it, you won't be disappointed. The best crispy pata I've ever had. The meat was so tender and juicy. The skin?! Perfection. Longsilog: 5/5. It's exactly what it's suppose to be and I don't need it to be anything else. Beef kare kare: 2/5 Lacked flavor and depth. Beef was too chewy. Would pass on this next time but it wasn't bad. Nothing special. Chicken Adobo: 3/5. Again, nothing special. I liked that it wasn't too salty but it needed more vinegar and flavor. If my chicken adobo can be eaten without rice, is it really chicken adobo? Turon with ice cream: 5/5. THE BEST TURON I'VE ever had. The skin was so crunchy and thin with the perfect banana inside. And it came with a generous serving of ube ice cream? Yes please. Will always be getting this with all my meals. If you're craving Filipino food, this is the place to be. They also had a buffet option, but I think the a la carte items are soooo much better!! Signed, a very picky Filipina

Yelp
Ordered food and could tell that the lechon kawali was not fresh and it was refried. You could also tell that the kare kare was refrigerated by the texture of the sauce. Long story short, this food got me sick and stuck on the toilet. Unless you go to this place when they put out fresh food.... Do not order from here.

Yelp
Opted to order food for pick up. Located at the manor area, ample parking available. First of all their buffet is a decent price. Food looked good too. Clean and inviting place. Nice Filipino music In the background. Appreciated their style of decor. Feels like home. Food is cooked as ordered, friendly service. Sinigang is super sour just the way I like it. Garlic rice is super flavorful. Definitely will plan to come back and try their buffet.
