Eat Local when Traveling Through Tifton, GA. Pit Stop BBQ & Grill was at the top of dinner considerations when planning our stay, So when it was recommended by hotel staff as a local favorite, we decided to check out the restaurant behind the website story. The atmosphere and food brought nostalgia for my PA hometown go-to family restaurant. We were welcomed upon entry and served by a seasoned wait staff. Enjoyed Homemade Ranch & Thousand Island Dressings, Grilled Fresh White Fish Seasoned w/ a Caribbean Kick, & Hush Puppies. The Grande Bowl of Brunswick Stew hit the Comfort Food Spot & kids had Roasted Chicken. Sweet Tea tasted fresh even as the restaurant was closing for the night. Loved the decor details and functional hutches routinely utilized by staff. We will stop again when traveling through Tifton, bring more family, and grab T-shirts & BBQ sauce. Also sooner in the day for a chance at the ribs before they sell out! :)

A really good bbq experience, food was really good, beef was tender, and chopped pork was tender. The sides of potato salad and baked bean were really great tasting, except the cold slaw was too mayonnaise based, and bbq sauce was really also mild. Make it a must to visit, we will. 🌟 $$

We absolutely loved the warm and family-friendly atmosphere! Everyone was kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The **house salad with homemade ranch** was incredibly fresh and flavorful — truly delicious! The **Awesome Potato** was tasty and just the right portion. *Tip: add a little of that homemade ranch — it’s a game changer!* My husband ordered the **Beef Platter** — he enjoyed it, though he would’ve liked a bit more seasoning. Still, it was good, and the **baked beans** were a hit! Now, my dish was the star: the **12oz Ribeye**. Honestly, one of the best steaks I’ve had! Cooked to perfection — not too rare, not dry — just perfectly juicy with the seasoning right on point. Without a doubt, this is a place we’ll be coming back to and one I definitely recommend. Don’t skip it if you’re in the area!

This is the 2nd time I've eaten here, about 7 years apart. It's average as BBQ goes. It was better the 1st time. But if you're traveling around Tifton, GA, its an easy place to stop.

i recently visited the Pit Stop BBQ at 1112 8th St, in Tifton, GA. I have been going there several times over the years. I parked and walked into the building and I was greeted and promptly seated and my drink order taken. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich w the potato wedges which came timely. Always a good product. Go visit them.!

Oh hell yeah! The pulled Pork and their sauces are fantastic! Came back fir the pork sandwich with mac and cheese and baked beans, equally awesome!

Adorably decorated BBQ restaurant! Everything is homemade, including the sauces. Had the Lunch Sliced Beef Plate with the best ever Squash Casserole and delicious Baked Beans. Only complaint was the beef was sliced "with the grain" instead of against the grain, so it was very tough to cut. Service by Tonya was very good. No room for the delectable desserts!

While passing Northbound on 75, we decided to stop for dinner at Pit Stop BBQ and Grill. We entered and were immediately greeted and seated. Our server was Tammy. She was AWESOME. We ordered Brunswick Stew the Beef Platter (which came with 2 sides), and the Pork Platter (which also came with 2 sides). The food was served FAST, HOT, and Delicious. The portion sizes were giant, and the prices were not (giant). Everything was priced very fair. Their sweet tea was amazing too. On our way out , we accidentally (wink-wink) walked by their dessert counter and selected a Cookies and Cream slice of Cake and a Strawberry slice of cake to take out. They were also both incredible. We will now stop here every time we pass through. Tammy was super duper nice, very diligently working and seemed friendly to everyone who came in. This place is a MUST VISIT!!!!

I ate a lot of cole slaw this weekend and this was by far the best. The staff were friendly and the space was appropriately decorated.

Stopped here for a BBQ lunch because we moved to Florida and don't find much BBQ down there. We had a very good lunch and I enjoyed my chopped pork sandwich and my husband liked his 1/2 roasted chicken. My sandwich had a great heated bun that they filled with yummy chopped pork and they added fresh pickles on the side, also the sweet sauce was just right. The fries were hot and delicious as well. Oh, and we didn't forget the red velvet cake! All good - we enjoyed our lunch there.

I wanted to like this popular local BBQ place. Warm and friendly service. My first mistake was ordering a burger platter (I know, I know. It's a BBQ place) in a BBQ restaurant. I was told beef patty is cooked from frozen, so should not have been surprised that my burger came out well-done...barely edible. Yellow onion rather than thinly sliced Red Onion. Seasoned fries and BBQ beans were VG. Is fresh beef cooked to order too difficult? Disappointed no choice of draught beer...simply inexcusable in a BBQ restaurant. Booth seating was tired, past its sell date, and uncomfortable. I think I'm being too harsh but this was my first impression. I regularly travel thru Tifton GA. If I were to return, I'd stick with pork BBQ sandwich or platter.

Great service by Tammy. Both of us had the pork which was excellent. We will stop again on the way to FL.

Really enjoyed the delicious chopped pork, potato salad, cucumber salad and sweet tea while soaking up the local ambience. Service was warm and friendly. Hope I pass this way again, soon.

I can't say enough good things. I stopped in on my way back from Florida and just as the other reviews, I was beyond pleased. I had my two dogs with me, so outdoor seating was the only option. The hostess was kind and understanding, and went over and above to assist me with getting my food to my table. She offered to bring a bowl of water for the dogs and she even helped me clean up, knowing I couldn't go back inside with the dogs. They were busy and it was the end of the night and not many places would've been as welcoming as they were to me. Customer service is everything and this experience was great. But it wasn't just the service that stood out, Food was excellent . Pork was flavorful and not fatty. Brunswick stew with some of the best I've ever had. Along with some perfectly cooked corn on the cob and some fresh sweet tea. The location is right off the highway so it's easy to get out without taking too much time away from the road trip. I've been missing all these years. I will be back!

Good bbq friendly servers. We eat there again. The deserts looked good but didn't try maybe next time.

Got a warm welcome from Abigail at the front desk of La Quinta Hotel. She accommodated us with some choices that worked best for us and our two dogs to be close to the side doors and doggie area. The room was very clean and amenities were awesome! When asked for a good recommendation for the best BBQ around she referred us to Pit Stop BBQ a local owned place where everything is homemade. Food was amazing! I highly recommend not LaQuinta Inn and Pit Stop if you travel to the Tifton, GA area.

Great food, large portions. Great atmosphere and service. Right off the highway, easy access. We had a wonderful meal and Tammy, our server was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely return.

We were greeted by the sweetest, friendliest hostess ever! I should've gotten her name...she's a definite asset to this establishment. The beef platter, however, didn't come close to the anticipation we had upon arrival. It has an off color (grey-green)and no flavor at all. After one bite, we gave up on it as inedible. The Brunswick stew and sides were good which made up for the beef. Our grand daughter had the chopped pork sandwich, which was good. A different hostess was up front when we left and she didn't offer any compensation for the beef when we mentioned the very poor quality. The restaurant has a homey, country feel that was welcome on the cool rainy day and we're saddened that the food was so below par considering the personnel and atmosphere, for which I gave the 2 stars. The absolute BEST restaurant in South GA!! The best BBQ and home cooked food for a great price. They always have the best customer service around! You will without a doubt leave full and happy. The desserts are a must as well! Their fudge brownies are the best you will ever have.

The food and waitstaff was awesome. I will be telling people to come and try and the restroom was very clean thx again will return again in my travels

We ordered takeout. The hostess was informative, and polite about their BBQ. Their BBQ was another story. I ordered the pulled pork and it was pretty much flavorless. The wings looked like they were pre boiled and dipped in sauce. I've never had a wing that was mushy, and fell off the bone when it was picked up! The baked beans and the Mac n cheese was good. Pretty much ate that and threw away the meat.

They have good food and good people. Some of the best wings I've ever had. They also have a wide selection to choose from. Great place to eat.

Stopped in here on the way home to Florida and wanted to end our trip with really good BBQ. This is where we ended up and let me tell you, their pulled pork and their beef is scrumptious and mouthwatering. Their platters are huge and will feed more than one person. We both got drinks, he got the beef platter, I got the 2 meat with beef and pork, 2 sides (corn and potato logs for me, coleslaw and potato salad for him) There was.enough food to feed an army! Ok well enough food for me to give my extra to my guy. And he said he was stuffed I wish we'd tried the desserts,.as they looked amazing.

Armpit Stop, the appetizer rib tips are/isnasty. The rest of the food is good and they serve you plenteous.

Just passing through the area and stopped by with our group. We had 24 people and this place didn't miss a beat! The staff was so friendly, fast and did a great job! They were very accommodating and the food was delicous! The prices were good, atmosphere was comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. Thanks for such a great lunch and experience. We loved the selection of cakes and funny T-shirts!

Stopped here on my way to Jacksonville and was thrilled to see a BBQ spot. We weee welcomed by the friendly staff and sat almost immediately. The restaurant was fairly full yet relatively quiet and relaxing. The food.... Well I was really disappointed which is really hard for me to be because I'm usually open to different tastes from different regions and cultures. Yet I was not satisfied at all. The wings were the only thing that were ok, the quarter chicken, corn and mash weren't really my thing, on the other hand my wife who NEVER likes anything actually loved all of it lol Our waitress Dana was super cool and helpful

We loved it! The food was delicious, with fall-off-the-bone ribs, flavorful pork sandwich, perfectly cooked corn-on-the-cob, and a cucumber salad that reminded me of my childhood. But even better than the great food was the incredible people working there. The service was outstanding and you can tell they really care about their customers. We'll be back for sure!

Overall the appearance and cleanliness was very nice, but our server was both slow and rude. I ordered the combo with smoked chicken (both tender and dry?) and smoked beef (toughest bbq beef of my life). Upgraded to the regional soup( forgot the name) and it was nothing more than a bad veggie beef soup. The one saving grace was that the chicken strips my daughter ordered were actually quite good. Wouldn't go back, especially after being charged $.99 each for 3 glasses of tap water. WHAT!?!? Complain to the hostess and she responded that they get the complaint all the time and the boss with won't listen or doesn't care.

Food is awesome. Best barbecue and sides anywhere in the south. The strawberry cake is delicious. Don't pass it up.

Stopped here on the way back to Florida from Chicago. I ordered the bbq beef sandwich and it was good- beef was tasty, pickle chips were not sweet (I can't stand sweet pickles) and the roll was fine. Shared my husbands sides so I ate the cucumber salad which was crisp and not too sweet or vinegary. Husband got the half rack of ribs and they were good. He liked them more than I did- they were not fatty at all but I thought they didn't taste smoky so not my favorite. 3 sauces were on the table- hot, mild and sweet. They were all very good. Hot was just a little spicy not overpowering, and the sweet was not cloyingly sweet. He said the cole slaw was ok- he put bbq sauce on it which he said improved it! I was disappointed in the red velvet cake- frosting had no cream cheese flavor and it was a really small slice. Also they charge 99 cents for water! That's just wrong in my opinion. Service was good

We were highly disappointed in our visit. The staff was exceptionally rude and appeared to be miserable at work. We ordered a pork chop, turkey sandwich, chicken platter, and a pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork sandwich was the only edible thing at the table. Mac and cheese was cold and appeared to be old. The potato logs weren't cooked all the way through, and the pork chop...no words for the taste of that thing. There was a $1/cup of water charge as well. Save your money and time.

Mushy over cooked ribs and a sickly sweet bbq sauce. The chicken was dry and the Mac and cheese cold. Only good things were price cold beer and some pretty good okra.

Food was out of this world good! Service was amazing even with the place being super busy on Sunday! I had the bbq combo ribs and chicken with rice and gravy and cream corn! My niece and son split chicken tenders and fries and mac n cheese! Plenty of food and out of this world good!! Being a sweet tea guy I took two glasses to go for my road trip back to Florida!! Every time I visit my niece at college I will be stopping here!!

Stopped here for dinner while traveling. Staff was very nice and service was great. The ribs were barely warm which is a turnoff for me. I like my food served hot. The sides were just okay. The taste was pretty good but I have definitely had better.

Today I got to eat at the Pit Stop BBQ & Grill for the first time . My Wife and I were not disappointed at all . Great atmosphere and Friendly and Courteous Servers and all Workers there , the same . The Food was very good and the size portions were plenty. Their Prices were Moderate and not too much , compared to other Restaurants in our area .Took home leftovers . Flavors were spot on and delicious . Thanks to the Cooks who don't always know what's going on in the dining rooms ; just know you did well and I appreciate it . Resturant was very clean and tidy, the parking lot was too . Very Good experience on All Levels . We will definitely be back in the future . We drove from Cordele Ga to pay you good folks a visit and glad we did .

Food was old. Smoked chicken was definitely not fresh, Mac and cheese had to be days old. Green beans had ZERO flavor and potato wedges were undercooked.

Consistently great food. Love the ribs and pulled pork, salads too. Delicious squash casserole when they offer it, choice of fries, nice choices on desserts too. Reasonable prices for the amount of food you receive and wonderful down-home service.

Good BBQ and extremely quick to come out. The waitress was super kind and a true southern belle. It got extremely busy as we were leaving so if you go on Su day make sure you get there at an off hour.

America has several great North-South/East-West interstate highways, including I-75 which runs from the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan to South Florida's Everglades. Along the way, there is more commerce done along this byway than in the entire history of Africa. Tifton, GA has benefitted greatly by this roadway, as has The Pitstop BBQ. Pros: Easy access, great food, outstanding service, awesome value and ample parking. Cons: Too brightly lit for my taste and if you're recruiting Victoria Secrets models, just keep driving. The Hot Blond Wife and I stopped in on a recommendation from the personnel at our nearby hotel. We were not disappointed. Great smoked/barbequed chicken, tasty mac & cheese, wonderful cucumber salad and refreshing nectar of the (southern) Gods, sweet tea. Our server, Shelby, was a joy to meet... a 75-year-old sprite of a woman. If you find yourself in Tifton enjoy both the incredibly nice people and the fare at The Pitstop.

Absolutely fantastic. We were traveling through and stopped here for dinner. The chili was great -- the beans were super fresh and cooked perfectly, the meat was tender, and the seasoning was spot on. But, as good as it was, the chopped pork sandwich was even better (it was good like you don't need sauce good). The green beans, fried okra, and potato salad were also excellent. Although it was a busy Friday night, we were seated almost immediately by a very friendly (and hardworking) hostess, and our server was excellent and super friendly, too. The food came out fast, and the restaurant was spotless. I look forward to the next time we visit.

Overall food was really good. Smoked meats but the smoky flavor was not too strong. Stew was great, slightly sweet. Ribs couldn't be cooked any better, perfectly seasoned, falling of the bones and super tender. Chicken was a bit dry but tasty. Beef was very good, not dry at all. Pulled pork was,... well, pulled pork. The sides: green beans was my favorite, which was surprising to myself. Baked beans was ok. Fried okra was moist yet crunchy on the outside. Coleslaw was ok; a bit too sauce heavy. Desert: The pecan cake was very good. I really liked it. The German chocolate cake was good. Fresh decaf coffee went perfectly with the cakes. Service was super. Fast and friendly. Highly recommended.

The wait was not to bad for being extremely busy. We had 5 people all enjoyed their meals. I had the ribs and sliced beef with fried okra and slaw. The ribs were awesome melted in my mouth. I would recommend them to anyone who wants great tasting ribs.

Stopped on our way Alabama. What a great find! It is literally right by the interstate. We came by at opening time of 11a.m. Leanne our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We had a cheese up burger with spicy fries, mild wings, sliced beef with potato log and spicy fries, fried rib tips. Our favorite was the wings, nice size, great sauce and very tender. The sliced beef was also very tender and great with the sweet bbq sauce. The spicy fries are good, the potato logs were ok but preferred the fries. The cheese burger was good. The fried rib tips were ok, a bit hard to eat and liked the sauce on fries. The decor is very homey and the bathrooms were very clean. We will keep this on our bookmarks for traveling.

Stopped in for lunch while traveling. Easy access from interstate. Jumbo pork sandwich did not disappoint; meat was tender and juicy. Mac n cheese was kinda standard, i enjoyed the cucumber salad. Server was on top of things, and wore a mask, as did all of the staff I saw. Every other table was marked 'closed' for distancing. Put this on my list of places to stop when

Tammy provided excellent service. In fact, the entire staff was pleasant and welcoming. The restaurant is very clean and so are the bathrooms. The atmosphere was also very pleasant. However, food was mediocre. Three stars is a bit of a stretch. But, I'm sure the smoked chicken was not so dry and the baked potato not overcooked at noon. The green beans were also lacking. The food was edible. The tortilla salad was a bit too salty. The teriyaki chicken was previously frozen -- not fresh. The main components of the salad -- lettuce, tomatoes, olives, onions, and cheddar cheese -- was excellent and tasty. Salsa and chicken were too salty. Baked potato was served with sour cream and whipped vegetable spread.* I asked Tammy for butter but she said it was not available. *Here are some of the ingredients for the whipped spread 48% vegetable oil: water, liquid and hydrogenated soybean oil, palm oil, diglycerides, potassium sorbate, and natural and artificial flavors. Why not provide one pat of butter rather than a chemistry kit? The human liver cannot process these ingredients. And, people continue to wonder why their health is failing and why they cannot lose weight.

Food and service was excellent. I wish we could go back soon, unfortunately we were passing through on vacation going back home to Prescott Az. My family is still talking about how good everything was.

Just passing thru town, but this place made my family feel like home. Wife ordered the beef...daughter the chicken...and I had the brunswick stew...all delicious. Wish we'd saved room for some of the cake! Our server was genuinely terrific...cheerful...kind...and prompt. Can't wait to return!

Stopped here while traveling thru Tifton,Ga. The chopped pork sandwich, sides and bowl of Brunswick Stew were great. Portions are large and service was Southern gracious. Since moving to central Florida, I have not found any really good Q and rarely find Southern hospitality. Pit Stop has both and when we stopped on a Sunday mid day, the place was packed with locals. I will always try to schedule future trips going thru Tifton to coordinate with dinner time. Pork was moist, right amount of smoke flavor and perfect amount of bark. The sauce they make is matched perfectly with the bar-b-que.

Good bbq, good portions. Beef is not brisket but was very good. Three bbq sauces, they were all okay. Okra was very good. Tammy was a very good waitress. Gave us good advice since we never ate here before

While driving back to Atlanta I discovered this Gem! I decided to try a half rack of ribs! Usually ribs come drowned in sauce that hides the flavor of the meat.. NOT So here ! My server Liz, explained that they use a butt run for 4 hours here and serve them sauceless! Wow! Amazing and delicious doesn't even begin to do this place justice ! PIT STOP hits a home in my book!
