Pita Gyros is a reliable workday lunch option. - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The menu at this SoMa spot is straightforward: choose either falafel, spit-roasted lamb, chicken, or beef in a pita or as part of a platter that comes with rice and salad. Both are solid, but we prefer the pita with its generous slick of hummus and a thick drizzle of tzatziki. The rice in the platter doesn’t add much. There are also a few sides, but they’re skippable—fries are soggy and dolmas are bland. But with a prime office-adjacent East Cut Crossing location and plenty of picnic benches, Pita and Gyros is still a decent pick for escaping your desk and marveling at how all of the pickleball players find time to hit the courts mid-workday. Food Rundown photo credit: Patrick Wong Gyro Our favorite thing on the menu. The pita is soft and chewy, and every protein option is always moist and tender. Just make sure to keep a lot of napkins nearby. photo credit: Patrick Wong Gyro Platter Think of this as a deconstructed version of the pita sandwich. While you’ll still get the meat—what Pita Gyros does best—the side of watery vegetables and flavorless rice aren’t worth the extra couple dollars. photo credit: Patrick Wong Dolmas Middling grape leaf-wrapped rice that will get the job done in a pinch. photo credit: Patrick Wong Fries Soggy and not worth your money." - Patrick Wong

Google
A great spot to stop by with the weather improving. Even though not too busy on a friday midday the food was fresh and more than filled me up for $15. Had a minor issue that was resolved quickly and guys were super nice. The atmosphere at the parklet setup was good too. Stop by for lunch and get refreshed before going back to the grind.

Google
pretty damn good.. I'll come here again. gyro is spot on, with döner fresh off the roll. i support. first place where the baklava are sized and spiced as they should, had enough of those half pound bland blocks they sell elsewhere. this one was straight fire. reasonable price too, 20 bucks for a gyro, Baklava and drink. pretty cool outdoor seating if the weather allows it (which it rarely does in this windy foggy city). no doubt five star strong buy recommendation.

Always great food with generous portions. Conveniently located and nice seating area.

Not Greek. And not good at all.

Outside seating. I got the beef/lamb gyro and it’s just ok. It’s Middle Eastern, not Greek. Tzatziki sauce is very thin.

Ordered the Greek fries here on a chilly November evening. Very tasty and the owners were very friendly and accommodating of our desire for extra crispy fries! 😃

Google
hello everyone. A week ago, I was in San Francisco with a friend. We stopped at Pita Gyros and bought falafel and coffee. I've tried falafel in other places, this one was the best: fresh, crispy, the way I like it. There is also coffee and sweets. (everything is nearby), we were pleasantly surprised, the service was good and, most importantly for me, the kitchen and cooking area are very clean. I definitely recommend it!!!

Yelp
This is a cute little food truck with a nice outdoor seating area in a good location. The service was friendly and the price was reasonable. I ordered a lamb and beef gyro and some baklava for my sweet tooth and it didn't take too long to come out even though they were pretty busy. The baklava was just plain old store bought run of the mill "meh" but the gyro was good and filling. I would come here again for dinner but definitely skip dessert.

Yelp
I was adventuring in the city on the last night of Lets Glow SF and stopped by Pita Gyros to fill by belly. One of the light installations was right by this food area. I ordered a Beef and Lamb Gyro and I'm glad I did. It was huge. The meat was nice and juicy and flavorful. it tasted fresh and delicious. The employee was super nice and my order came out quick. If your in the area its worth a visit.

Yelp
While the name Pita Gyros is generic and forgettable, the falafel they're making is anything but. Situated in shiny new Crossing at East Cut, this trailer has a short menu of the greatest Mediterranean hits. Vegan options are clearly marked, with falafel and hummus being your primary focus, served over salad, in pita, or with rice. Nothing terribly innovative, but they simply do it right. Super crispy on the outside, moist and tender inside, these fried chickpea balls are green from bright fresh herbs that you can really taste. Whole sesame seeds peek through the golden-brown exterior, adding to a subtly nutty, toasted taste that manages to land every flavorful punch. Notably, the hummus tastes like something I would make at home, which is a huge compliment. Tahini-forward, super creamy, but still with a bit of texture that suggests the beans kept their skins intact, it's light years better than the stuff sold in stores. It's the perfect quick lunch to grab when you're in the area. 10/10, would eat again.

Yelp
Finally got around to trying one of those food trailers in the East Cut park. Lots of great open space to enjoy your food, which is especially pleasant on a sunny day. Their gyro made for a great lunch outside the office. Lamb & Beef Gyro Pita: I was really feeling the thin wispy slices of gyro. They weren't as crispy as I usually like, but the deli-esqe thinness was far superior to those places that cut large chunks off. Meshed nicely with the super fresh cubes of red onions, cucumber and tomato. Plus a generous amount of creamy sauce and hot sauce. Also, the pita was nice and fluffy, not like those cardboard discs you can find at the grocery store or lesser gyro purveyors. Overall, lots of fresh and delicious taste. Falafal: Ordered a side of falafal [sic] and it was literally just one piece. Texture was kinda different, very large grains like tempeh. And though it had a fried exterior, it didn't feel as crunchy as other falafels I've had. Glad my main focus was the gyro. Baklava: I was actually still feeling a tad peckish after my meal, so went back to order dessert. Pretty much what I was hoping for with a crispy flaky top and a sticky gooey bottom.

Yelp
First time here. Really like their lamb and beef gyro. Very fresh meat right off the spikes. They gave me extra side of lettuce and cucumbers. Delicious for $16.

Yelp
Great food and open late-ish. Later than the other places. Def recommend the lamb beef gyro and hummus is perfect as well. If you have a little extra time go grab a drink next door at greyhound !!

Yelp
Delicious and great service, the team and manager here are friendly and the food is great! Love the gyro salad and falafel!

Yelp
Delicious food option in a nice neighborhood. I am glad this space turned out to be a beautiful hub for the community.

Yelp
There are so many hidden gems in this sleeping city. It's a shame that there are places being unexplored due to the economic turmoil that has hit this once fan favorite destination. Upon working offsite and on my way back towards Embarcadero, I found a small food court near a public bus stop. This place had four small food stations and a tennis court. It's convenient location is just a walk from the Ferry Building and the Mission district, and is perfectly nestled around some notable companies you might recognize like LinkedIn and Salesforce. What drew me in was their red facade and the smiling faces behind the counter. No wait time made it a win for me, as it was starting to sprinkle after all. I ordered a chicken gyro and grabbed some baklava for my mom. Decently priced at under $20 with the tip included. As soon as I sat down I scarfed that chicken gyro and the chicken pita, chefs kiss. If this was on my regular commute I would stop all the time. 10/10, service, food and hospitality.

Yelp
We love this place! They recently upgraded their pita bread - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside:) everything on this plate is so good. Also, it seems like the Boba & Brew across from the Pita Gyros stand is owned by the same family. Every time we come here, we get plates from the gyro stand and drinks from the boba stand.

Iyami H.

Yelp
The lamb and beef gyro was delicious. Recommend getting it spicy. Great pre- or post-snack for pickleball.

Yelp
Clean, well lit walkable outdoor eating and benches and seats. Great customer service.

Yelp
The falafel is to DIE for, it has this perfect fluffy interior with a crispy exterior. Service is fast and everything tasted fresh and was still hot when served! The falafel plate came with a little too much rice than I cared for though. This is meant to be a take and go since it's vendor style. There isn't much seating around but there's other nearby seating nearby, I suggest going to salesforce park to eat!

Yelp
Delicious and one of my favorite go to spots for lunch during the work week! Yummy flavor, soft bread, soft meat. Will be a regular!
google avatar

Gary C.

Yelp
Came for a quick weekday lunch. I ordered the lamb and beef gyro plate (came with white and hot sauce) and baklava the size of your thumb. Good portions and prices are reasonable as you would expect eating in FiDi. Meat is seasoned well. Pilaf rice is bland but cooked properly.

Yelp

Yelp
Damn this is good. One of the best gyros I've ever had!! Fast, efficient service and seating outside. A great fast lunch. Pro tip: Get the hot sauce. So tasty!!

Eric S.

Yelp
Great food and service! Worth a try when in town. Try the beef lamb and Thanks for the quality!

Glenn C.

Yelp
Solid and hits the spot. Had the beef and lamb plate, falafel wrap (spicy), and dolmas. All good and tasty choices!!! Happy this new spot is here and will definitely come back. Opened for about a couple weeks now. Supposedly open til 7pm during week and from 12-8pm on weekends. I imagine it will be a solid lunch time spot or take out... and hopefully they get some dinner/office traffic.

Yelp
My family's been coming back to this place ever since they've tried it. We've tried multiple mediterranean places before, and this one is for sure one of our top favorites. The lady working Raziye was able to help us pick good options that we really liked without rushing us. All the workers did a great job with running this place. Been here multiple times, and their service has been consistent and awesome! Great food and great service! Thumbs up for me!

Blake M.

Yelp
Good food! Right next to the pickleball courts. Solid value food ..........................................................

Yelp
First time trying here, convenient location for after pickle ball! You can get a free baklava if you leave a review on their yelp or google

Yelp
Great food and service! And lovely outdoor seating in the East Cut park. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Great food & exceptional Service! Thanks so much for the awesome food. I really enjoyed all of the Vegan & Gluten Free options....

Yelp
I had the falafel gyro plate, best falafel I've had in a long time. The baklava melts in your mouth, I had to restrain myself from getting a second piece. The service in incredible - friendly and fast!

Sage J.

Yelp
I got 2 falafel wraps and a baklava, came out to around 30 bucks before tip. Well I'm really disappointed. This places has to be the worst falafel I've had. It looked and takes like a rock. Flavorless. It seems like with the luxury apartments around in the area and tourist that this place is just a cash grab marketed for naïve people with money. Anything that's clean and aesthetic people will go for it, I know I did. I wouldn't waste your money here Sf has too many good Greek food options worth your time and money.
google avatar

Kennie S.

Yelp
I tend to refrain from posting negative reviews, but this place is not great. And for the price.... I would say that makes it not even good. It's American food with Mediterranean seasoning, like about the equivalent of a decent quality frozen dinner. The guys working there ( who I assume are the owners, both times I went appeared to be falling asleep and had no customers apparently for some time. 2 stars are for convenience as they were easy to get to while I was house sitting across the street. Authenticity , pride in representing your culture and it's food are vital it todays food scene, especially in that location with the tech folks that " know good food because they read yelp reviews" lol
google avatar

Amanda G.

Yelp
Went here for lunch today, and the food was ready in under five minutes, and SO DELICIOUS!! I had the chicken pita, and it was brimming with tender chicken, and one of the best tzatziki sauces I've had yet... I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu! Not to mention the delightful service, and the location in such a clean and happening area of downtown, with seating in the sunshine. I might have to join that crazy outdoor gym so that I can eat lunch here every day... highly recommend!

Yelp
I got a Greek salad with gyros, baklava and sparking water. The service was so friendly and kind. The good is amazing! I'll be back even if I live all the way in Burlingame, worth the drive. :)

Alexandria V.

Yelp
I 100% reccommed trying the falafel pita gyro. It's one of the most flavorful falafels I've tried so far! Great customer service and fast service. Give it a try when you're in the east cut!

I just stopped here for the first time and can say I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't sure what to expect from a new spot but it was so delicious. Definitely coming back and bringing friends. Yelp
Hands down best gyros in the area. Flavor is on point and the vibes are great. Will keep coming back for more.

Yelp
I was working in SF and stumbled across this restaurant. I decided to order one of their Pita Gyros and let me tell you it was one of the most amazing dish I had ever had. It was so good that I had to come back the next day and bring my family. They loved it so much that my family and I come eat here once a week. The lady named Raz was super helpful and the sweetest when talking to my family, made me feel right at home. Definitely recommend for anyone to try this place!!

Lev L.

Yelp
Glad to see this place open up at the crossings in east cut. Delicious gyro and friendly staff, check it out for a quick and delicious meal.

Melissa L.

Yelp
I came here for my first time last week and it was honestly one of the best pita gyros I've ever tried. Not only was the food the best but the customer service was great! Raz was so attentive and made my family and I feel so welcome. Honestly one of the best customer experiences I've had. I give this place a 10/10! Highly recommended

Jessica M.

Yelp
I was walking around the area when I stumbled upon this place, and it did not disappoint! Immediately I was drawn to this cute set up they have going on and felt welcomed as if I were family. The staff was super friendly and answered any questions I had. I had the falafel, hummus, and chicken gyro pita sandwich, and they were all amazing! I will definitely be coming back and recommend it! Thanks Pita Gyros! :)

Lara M.

Yelp
This place is definitely worth checking out! Great food - all homemade, friendly staff, and such a cool location. Just a short walk from Embarcadero- you can catch a movie and eat a delicious gyro, fresh falafel and super yummy hummus.... Also don't skip out on the baklava, you'll regret it ;) they just opened up and this place is already a hit! Check it out for yourself to see what I'm talking about :)

Shivani P.

Yelp
Such a cool location - the perfect date night spot! You can watch movies and grab dinner and a drink! The food here is so delicious, falafel is crispy and veggies are fresh. Hummus is creamy and you can tell it's homemade. Service is friendly and quick! Will definitely be coming back here!! If you're walking around the Embarcadero area, it's just a few blocks away.
