The visit didn't start off great, in all honesty. But to be fair, I think there was a miscommunication. I had just given blood and spent a few hours studying, so I figured I better get something healthy yet hardy for lunch, I walked in what I assume was the back end. A guy looked at me, and I said, "Hi, it's just me." To which he pointed and said, "Over there." Which I thought meant to grab one of the many open tables, but I guess what he meant was to go to the hostess booth, which I didn't know was there, so I sat down, and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, the waitress asked if I had been helped. I told her that I had not, and she apologized and got me a menu.
I quickly ordered my drink and food. I was so happy that my guava lemonade wasn't too sugary but had enough substance to be refreshing. It was needed after the weird feeling of lacking blood. Haha.
If you want a great spice kick with a cooling combination. I highly recommend the Street Stir-fry with chicken and the regular hummus. The spice and delicious combination of the street stir-fry was completely mind-blowing. The chicken was cooked beautifully, and all the vegetables were perfectly proportioned, as well as the moments of ginger were great. As spicy as my dish was, it was not overwhelming, but when a slight spice would build up, the pita and hummus were the incredible touch of coolness that I needed. It felt like my taste buds took a needed swim after licking a jalapeño on a dare.
I also got the kneffe cheesecake... which was... interesting. It wasn't bad.... but it's not something I'd get again. The texture was just off and not my cup of tea on the flavor either. But I refuse to waste food and, of course, ate it all.
However, the opposite can definitely be said about the rice pudding... in all the right ways. Meaning, it was delicious and not too sweet but flavorful. Soft and went well with the cinnamon and strawberries.
Next time I come back, because there will be a next time, I will be sure to check in at the hostess booth first.
