Healthy and well made. Been coming here for nearly 16 years and the quality is still incredible. Even before becoming vegetarian, I used to eat their meat pies and the quality was delightful. Highly recommend! I got the baba ghanouj tabbouli sandwich. So good 😋❤️

Google
Food was good and fresh. We ordered the lamb gyro pita and the kafta burger, in addition to a piece of pistachio baklava. The baklava was very rich, flaky and flavorful. Staff was friendly.

Google
Fantastic dining experience! Walked in for lunch during the art fair and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and size of a tasty chicken gyro and pistachio baklava. My boyfriend had the lamb shawarma and spinach pie - amazing taste and portion size. The outside seating was taken, so we ate inside; it was a bit cramped but understandable for a restaurant that probably relies mostly on carry-out service. We got our food quickly and it was hot. I highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic mid-east taste in Ann Arbor.

We were there more than a week ago, one of our last few meals in the area. The vegan pita wrap was soooooooo good! It was a refreshing change from the too salty and too sweet and fried stuff in many places! The pita bread tasted freshly made and grilled. The generous portion of salad fillings was fresh. It was a pity we discovered it too late. I had wanted to have one more meal there but couldn't. Oh and I didn't mention the boss was very patient with us, friendly and helpful when we were indecisive, and helped us choose the pistachio baklava to try for dessert and it was a delightful conclusion to our meal!

Google
Sooooo good!!! Such an authentic middle eastern place. My family owns a middle eastern restaurant, so from one family business to the next, you are DOING IT RIGHT! Fast service, VERY reasonable prices, great food. I love going here

Google
had the chicken shawarma and hummus, the flavors on the shawarma were great but everything was just very dry, even with extra toum it was too much. if it was a bit cheaper it would be 4 stars for me. service was excellent however!

Google
I went to PKG about once a week when I lived in A2 from 2007-2010, and I make it a point to stop in whenever I am in town, probably once a year since then. The last time I was there in May 2025, the cook recognized me and said "I haven't seen you in awhile, how are things?" I have never been disappointed with the taste or quality of the food over the years. I usually get one of the lamb kabob pitas or sujuk (spicy sausage) pita since it is a rare treat to go there, but I cycled through the vegetarian ones when I lived in town. The falafel, eggplant-b-harr, and grape leaves pitas were particularly great. To those giving 1-star ratings and complaining about the fries in the shawarma pitas, the menu clearly says there are fried potatoes and that you can sub lettuce.

Google
Great authentic middle eastern food and the shawarma’s the best I have had in Ann Arbor. Rich flavors , large menu and great customizations for the pitas.

Yelp
I'm in-between 3 and 4 starts but went with 4 for now because the falafel itself was very good and everything appeared fresh and had good presentation. First visit here for me, I initially came in wanted to get a chicken shawarma but the menu pictures just didn't seem right with shredded chicken. I went with a falafel and decided to get something called Meghan's Falafel Pita Wrap - the potato and the hot sauce just didn't do it for me but you could definitely tell that the falafel itself was very good. I'll get the regular falafel next time! The "4 Piece Spinach Pies" - well first, the shell is like biting into a pita wrap. For some reason I thought it would be a crispy phyllo texture. The show stopper for me though was that it was very sour. I thought it was going to taste like the traditional greek spinach pie made with phyllo and feta cheese but this one was very sour. Not sure whether I got a bad batch or maybe that is the way it is supposed to taste here.... I did like that it came with cucumbers, pickles and tomatoes though, very good presentation and taste. I'll need to come here again and try the traditional falafel and maybe chicken shawarma and hopefully validate the 4 star rating.

Yelp
I ordered a lamb Gyro. It was the most incredible Gyro that I've ever tasted in my entire life. I also ordered a salad, french fries, and Zaki sauce. This was probably the best food that I have ever tasted in regards to Mediterranean food. Pita kebab Grill. You're doing incredible keep up the great work. I highly recommend this place. I forgot to mention the heavenly hummus, it was incredible.

Khushal J.

Yelp
This is a quick service place with delicious falafel pita rolls of filling amount. Definitely recommended for quick take out
google avatar

Moon Y.

Yelp
Reasonable price. Tasty food. Great spot if you are close to campus. This is a local restaurant that's been at the same spot for a long time. I've recommended this place to friends who visited AA and everyone loved it!
google avatar

Kim W.

Yelp
I had a delicious lunch - falafel with tabouli pita and crushed lentil soup. The food was tasty and filling. Service was quick and friendly. I would return if in town again.

Phil L.

Yelp
I ordered the kebab platter. The chicken was dry and not very flavorful. The salad was unexciting.

Adam R.

Yelp
A very solid falafel pita wrap. Never had one toasted and pressed like this and it was amazing!!!

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
The food here is really amazing but the prices/portions are really frustrating. A "half" order of hummus is $5.99+tax and it's actually about 2.5 tablespoons of hummus :/ I want to go here but that is just crazy
google avatar

Nick B.

Yelp
A delicious lunch on our trip at AA. Chicken dinner plates were very good. Thumbs up for the hummus and the grape leaves.

Elliott B.

Yelp
Amazing food! Meat is very good and the veggies always taste real. My personal favorite is the chicken tawook kebab with added humus (hummus+garlic sauce is so good). Always a great place to get food while walking around on the later side. Service is pretty good and food never takes too long. Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I come here more frequently than just about any other place.

Yelp
Delicious lamb kofta wrap with garlic sauce and a baklava to wrap things up. Spinach pie was good but I prefer the ones with the phyllo crust. Very friendly service.
google avatar

Gaby F.

Yelp
This is a MUST GO to hole in the wall. The food is delicious and comes one quickly. All of the food pictured took less than 10 minutes to come out! One dinner platter is enough to feed to hungry young adults. Again, delicious!
google avatar

Hanine C.

Yelp
This was such a disappointment. The chicken was so dry that I had to drink water to try and get it down. The fries were so limp and the dominating flavor in the lentil soup that came with the shish tawook was black pepper. The toum (garlic sauce) wasn't bad.
google avatar

Brenda M.

Yelp
We had falafel, hummus, pitas and rice-stuffed grape leaves delivered (by Uber eats). The falafel was very dense and larger than I am used to but very flavorful. Great hummus dressed nicely with oil and a paprika(?) sprinkle. They serve the falafel with cucumber, tomato and dill pickle slices. The dill pickle slices were a surprise but went so well I will miss them at other places that DON'T. The grape leaves were nice little 2-bite treats and delicious.

Yelp
Okay honestly, i wasn't sure about this place. I came to ann arbor from LA. Was really craving shawarma one night. Decided to uber eats from this place. Got the beef shawarma and lentil soup. First of all, the beef shawarma did not look like regular shawarma off the pit. It could have been a piece of steak that they cut up and grilled. Second, the vegetables on top had this weird seasoning that didnt taste middle eastern to me. The lentil soup also tasted like curry. This seemed to be more of a indian style restaurant than arabic in my sense. Wasnt bad, but wasnt what i was looking for either.

Yelp
Went to Pita Kabob Grill by chance one day when some friends and I had been hanging out on the Diag. Its location was super convenient, but it's easy to see how you could miss it if you weren't looking for it! From the moment we walked in, the experience was great, the staff was very chill, patient and helpful as we tried to make our selections from their menu. They've got a very diverse menu and there's something for basically everyone. Among my friend group we had people who were Vegan and people who were on Low Carb diets and we all found things to eat pretty easily. There's not a ton of indoor seating as the restaurant is pretty small, but it's adequate for what it is, and there are a couple of tables with chairs outside. Once you've ordered, the food arrives fairly quickly too. Overall the food tastes great, it's a good value, and it's close to campus! Low Carb/ Keto folks: There are tons of options for you here, but they are rice heavy, so ask for a substitute or get a larger dish to compensate. Personally I ordered the Mixed Kabob plate, and it was plenty of food especially since you can get a soup or salad as a side (Be forewarned, the Chicken Curry soup has rice in it!!)

Yelp
Very underwhelming Middle Eastern spot. Ordered for takeout one of my first nights in Ann Arbor. Got a bunch of falafel, the lentil soup, and 2 combo plays with chicken, kofte, lamb schwarma, and beef schwarma. The lentil soup was good and the falafel is decent. However, the meat platters were not that good. The Schwarma and chicken were generally dry and not flavorful. The kofte was decent, but still not as moist and mouthwatering as I would like. I probably will not order from here again.

Yelp
I ordered over the phone, and my food was ready within the 10 minutes it took me to drive there. A lamb gyro sandwich, felafel sandwich, and fries ran us ~$20. It was plenty of food, and the veggies were all fresh. The fries were plentiful and we liked the cajun spice. I did have a few bones to pick with the lamb gyro, which included lettuce, tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce; it was a bit heavy on the onion, but worse, the bread was a bit stale, and the lab was a lot drier than I had hoped. All in all good for a quick, affordable bite, but I'll probably keep looking for my go-to Mediterranean spot.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place while we were at an event downtown Ann Arbor and the kids were hungry so we decided to get something quick and to go. I ordered just the regular Falafel Pita with Tabbouli and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also ordered the Broccoli-b-toum pita version too, but I didn't get a chance to try that because my family took that one so I missed out. (GRRR!) Just the regular falafel pita was delicious, better than I expected it to be. And it was a pretty adequate size for the price, it was filling and tasted great. Although I wonder how it compares to other places I've been to which are a tad cheaper and the size may be similar, but I think here the pita sandwich is probably a tad bigger. So it may justify the price, I dunno I have to come here and try this again. It was a plus that they also had vegan options. Would I come here again? Chances are pretty likely.

Kookee K.

Yelp
They offer a great service, very fast and very clean. The food is tasty and healthy.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered through Doordash. I tried the sauteed cauliflower entree with a chicken kebab on the side, my wife got the chicken shawarma sandwich w/ fries and salad. Cauliflower was oily; hummus on the side with it was bland. Chicken kebab was okay, though heavily seasoned with curry powder. My wife said the shawarma was decent but not great. Dressing on her side fatoush didn't have much flavor. Not terrible, but many better options.
google avatar

Summer N.

Yelp
I'd always walked past this place but never ordered from them until recently. Pros: - LOTS of vegan and veggie options, way more than I thought! - Portions are sizable with 2 pita breads, I took half of my meal home - Not pricey for what you get Cons: - Falafel was on the drier side - Not a lot of hummus (platter meal) I would come here again for a quick mediterranean bite :-)

Yelp
Ann Arbor has such a bounty of pita restaurants that it's hard for any of them to really stand out. Pita Kabob Grill succeeds by offering delivery to a wider area and staying open later than most of the competition. However, I can't really justify giving them more than three stars even though I order from them fairly regularly. Their food is better than some but too consistently dry (from the falafel to the rice to the lamb) or one-note (the spicy eggplant and the lamb, again, are the worst offenders) to recommend it on its own. Other reviewers have accused them of reheating their food, and I can see how that would make the hot foods kind of hard and dry on the outside, but maybe it's just what I get for ordering delivery? That said, the roasted cauliflower and garlic sauce are both very good, and their pickles are some of my favorites. It's definitely possible to get a good meal delivered from here. It's just more likely you'll get an okay meal.
google avatar

Karl H.

Yelp
If you like a garlic sauce and spicy sujuk pita wrap. their version is so good. I specifically go back here for this.
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
Sat in the restaurant while another friend proceeded to be late and didn't order until I got super hungry. The owner or manager was super patient and didn't prompt us to order faster as we were chillin' inside. I ordered the chicken and hummus platter, which also came with the garlic sauce ($10). Compared to other places in Detroit, this place is minutely more expensive and you get less, but decent for a college town. The other platters come with a lot of food, but are also more expensive than a normal meal for both lunch and dinner - $11.99 and $15.99, respectively. They also have pita wraps and other items on the menu for cheaper prices ~$6.99. I liked the small restaurant size; made for a cozy ambiance,
google avatar

Cynthia Z.

Yelp
I ordered the lamb shawarma platter, lunch size, for $12.99. I love how they paid attention to the details. The vegetables are slightly caramelized but still crunchy. I would say, however, that the lamb itself doesn't stand out and might be a little dry. They give you pitas on the side, and it comes with either salad or soup. The lentil soup is creamy and intensely flavorful. The staff are super relaxed and nice, and it's a great experience. Service is a little slow, especially since it seemed like they were making most of their food for delivery when I got there (around 11pm). The entire restaurant smells amazing, and I noticed that the surfaces are kept really clean. Compared with other shawarma places, Pita Kabob Grill is a little more expensive, but considering the location, right by central campus at UMich, it seems fair.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken shawarma pita wrap and it was phenomenal. The hummus and side sauce were great, and the grilled chicken was fantastic. Even though the delivery took a very long time, it was worth the wait. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Maddie M.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place after years of coming here. This is one of my favorite spots around state street, and in my opinion, the best place to get falafel in A2. The falafel is so crispy and crunchy on the outside, but not mushy on the inside or anything. Also, I wish I could smother their garlic spread on my life because it makes everything better! My favorites are the falafel burger and Meghan's pita. These are really filling and you get a ton of food for the price. If you like spicy but not fire, you'll really like the Meghan's. It has hot sauce, the garlic sauce, FRIES, and falafel. The perfect pita basically. It does take a while to get your food since there isn't a huge staff, so make sure you bring something to do while you're there. Or if you're in a rush, just call about 10-15 minutes ahead.
google avatar

Liz P.

Yelp
So I've been here before but a long time ago, probably during undergrad (so like 8+ years ago, oy....). That time I think I had the chicken shwarma pita. This time I offered the chicken tawook pita. The pita was very good but it had chicken parties in it which was a little strange. Garlic and pickles were great, though, and the bread was perfectly toasted. We also got a small offer of fries - at about $2.50 it's a little pricey, but the spice blend they used was fantastic. Their bathroom situation is a little sketchy, it's down the stairs and at 5'4 I almost felt too tall for their basement, ha. Other than that, 4 stars from me and I'd come back again for a pita.

Ben K.

Yelp
Had the vegetarian mograbia. Fantastic! Generous portion, Very flavorful, garnish nicely with fresh tomatoes cucumbers and onions as well as pickles. The humus garnish was creamy and delicious, the pita fresh and serving as a perfect foil for the humus. I will definitely come here again to try more of their dishes, given the opportunity.
google avatar

Luciana A.

Yelp
I've been going to this place for at least the past 10 years. We love the food and the service is always great! Happy to see that some of the small businesses survive the crazy campus transformation of the last decade.

Jane S.

Yelp
Terrible customer service, this place is stingy, rude and unaccommodating. Despite my genuine at asking very nicely and politely, the management could not care less about looking out for their customers (note when I went in it was extremely slow and they were not otherwise occupied). Thankfully there are many other options in Ann Arbor for amazing Middle Eastern food!
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
If you've ever had real shawarmas or kabobs I wouldn't come to this place to try to replicate it. The meat is dry and lacks flavor. The rice seems to just be brown rice boiled with a tomato, not the traditional basmati rice.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
I am in love with middle eastern food and I was really excited when I found out there was this restaurant near my apartment. The price for food makes your wallet really happy as the food is phenomenal. It is definitely a fast food and I really like the tight small knit food place where I can just embrace the nice music they play. I really really recommend this place. I would not really recommend groups going unless it is a pick and go kind of thing. The bathroom is a little weird because you have to go through the kitchen and like pass the storage room. However, everything else is nice! GO! :)
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
We came here after a Michigan basketball game and couldn't have been more disappointed. I'm guessing the great reviews have come from college students that have never had quality Middle Eastern food. And, to be honest, I came with one of my buddies that's 350 pounds and lives off McDonald's and Arbys. He couldn't take more than a few bites because the food had no flavor. The staff was nice and friendly. The food was overpriced and bland. I ordered the mixed platter: chicken and beef shawarma. It was more bland than boiled chicken and that's no exaggeration. The portions were more than acceptable and they better be for how expensive this was compared to the quality. I took a few bites, ate the veggies and tossed the rest. The rice tasted like regular white rice, not your traditional Middle Eastern rices. This is the poorest shawarma I've ever had and have eaten and several 100 places that mirror this around the country. C-mon Blue! You can do better than this!
google avatar

Alina A.

Yelp
This was my all time college favorite! I love getting there fries with Cajun seasoning and lamb kafta burger or Cajun Shawarma burger m. The lamb kafta quality has gone down a little, but the wraps and shawarma are still good. I recommend getting lentils from here that's the best
google avatar

Noah S.

Yelp
Great service! Big fan of the chicken shawarma especially -- you can't go wrong grabbing a bite here

Jack T.

Yelp
Some of the most flavorful middle eastern food I've had in all of Ann Arbor and for a good price too. I'll definitely be coming back
google avatar

Jimi R.

Yelp
I'm originally from the Detroit area and I love middle eastern food. Currently living in the Chicago area. I find my way back home for various reason. So when I do. I make it a point to visit some of my fav spots. I made a special stop in Ann Arbor to eat at one of my favorite restaurants. Ali Babas on Packard street. So you can only imagine I was very saddened and disappointed to see they were closed. Due to renovations. So I went to my trusted app yelp to see what my options were. I chose Pita Kabob Grill. I was very disappointed with the food. I had Shish Kafka kabob platter & my Husband & Daughter had the Chicken Shawarma platter. It was very over priced. Spending $45 is ridiculous. It's safe to say I won't be eating here again.
google avatar

Hasan A.

Yelp
They have the best lamb shawarma wraps, I have been to Pita kabob so many times. Beside the lamb shawarma they have delicious Falafel wrap. The food is always fresh and hot. The place is clean but very small, the prices are very reasonable compared to the other restaurants around.
google avatar

Dee M.

Yelp
The chicken kafta burger was cold and inedible. It's almost as though it was still frozen. I'm going to stick to their vegetarian food I think.
google avatar

Omar A.

Yelp
The ingredients used taste like they have good quality. They aren't cheap with the contents of the sandwiches. Small place but big taste tbh.
google avatar

Ethan L.

Yelp
Never had a shawarma before going here so I didn't know what to expect. I only came in here with friends because one of them recommended this place. But man was the food good. Right there, I fell in love with Mediterranean food. After eating here, I tried other Mediterranean places, but so far none surpassed this place. The service though needs a bit of an improvement. The cash register seems very disinterested in us and just wanted our money. However, until I find a better place, this is probably going to be my go to Mediterranean restaurant in Ann Arbor.
google avatar

Tiahna P.

Yelp
I like how authentic this place is. You can come in, speak Arabic with the cashier and he'll speak it right back. That's hard to find nowadays. The food you're getting is authentic. I have studied Arab culture and I've immersed myself with Egyptians, Moroccans, Iraqis, and Sudanese people, and this food is very close. The only dock is how fresh their vegetables are. I really wish they used fresher vegetables. I'm not sure if it's routine to use pickled onions instead of real onions, but that's what I got my second time there. Also, the lettuce could be a lot fresher. I do like the falafel, though. I will be back whenever I crave falafel, but may opt for falafel and hummus instead of a wrap. All in all, good little restaurant for traditional Arab food.
google avatar

Zach K.

Yelp
This is bar none the best Middle Eastern joint in SE Michigan for creative and diverse pita sandwich selections. The average place does not load up their sandwiches with such a thoroughly complex and rich blend of ingredients. I also appreciate the bottles of hot sauce at each table so you can be sure you never run out of heat. Some of my favorites are the cauliflower pita, the broccoli and feta pita, and the Megan's falafel. The one criticism I have is that the sandwiches are sometimes more oily than I desired depending on who is preparing the food. This can be the case more so with items that contain potatoes or eggplant which tend to absorb a lot of oil.
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
I am rather fond of this establishment... ever since my college years, when we'd be studying at the Fishbowl late at night and this was one of the few options open nearby. I've traveled wide and far now and had a lot of different types of pita sandwiches, but something about the chicken/crinkle-cut fries/pickles/garlic in their chicken shawarma pita makes it a hard-to-beat original for me. I'd say it boils down everything you need in a pita to the bare essentials, and tastes great with a reasonable price.
google avatar

Tiffany N.

Yelp
I've tried every vegetarian pita wrap and they're all delicious, with the Eggplant-B-Harr being my savory favorite (fries inside the wrap!), and the Baba ghannuj with Tabbouli Pita wrap being my favorite for lighter fare. The wraps are extremely affordable for the amount of food prepared. Oftentimes I can't finish mine for lunch and enjoy the rest for dinner!
google avatar

Jonathan N.

Yelp
Great people who work here. Very courteous and attentive. The food was very good. For the vegans out there I recommend the cajun vegan pita. The establishment was small and provided a homey feeling. The price is very reasonable as well. I will definitely come again and again.

Betania M.

Yelp
I have only tried their Cajun fries to go, but they were barely seasoned and had a horrible texture. Like soggy and hard to swallow. other things I'm the menu looked good but just don't get their fries .
