Google
I didn't even want to give them one star reasoning because; This is a new place of business and this is New Orleans ... Not only did We NOT get our double order of falafel, which was substituted with FRENCH FRIES & Labneh. Which cost .50cents more. We didn't want fries . No Phone call or notification stating this item was unavailable to be subsituted. This is Mediterranean food, not a traditional franchise like, Mc Donalds. (At least they let you know the fries are cooking). Also, ordered the chicken schwarma It came in a pita bread with no veggies after the option was given for a side with rice salad, hummus. Needless to say, the chicken was dry and wasn't very tasty. Great location. Overall customer service lacks in communication. If you want returning customers , you'd treat them as if you'd wanted to be treated, especially on substituting an item requstedThat's 10.00 an order. Not disappointed. Will not return. 🥵

Google
Want this place to succeed because the neighborhood needs more variety…. However we got the chicken shawarma and gyro wrap and they were both bland. The dips all tasted the same. Fries were soggy and over seasoned. Best things were the Lebanese ice tea and the falafel plate. Not sure if it was an off day for them but it’s hard to want to spend $50+ on mediocre food.

Pita Paradise is easily one of the best spots in the city for Mediterranean food. The menu has something for everyone, the portions are huge, and the service is top-notch. Located right on Freret Street, it’s a great place to grab a satisfying meal in Uptown New Orleans. Highly recommend checking it out—you won’t be disappointed!

Google
We ordered takeout from Pita Paradise - for four, including our 8-year old son. There was something for everyone and we all really enjoyed our food. The chicken and gyro were perfectly cooked, the hummus had just the right amount of tahini, and the pitas were fresh. My husband has the Adana kebab wrap and it was gone in three minutes! Will definitely order from Pita Paradise again soon, and hopefully to dine in! They have a gorgeous coffee service that I’m excited to use!

Whether dining in or ordering takeout, service is prompt and reliable. Pita Paradise is an excellent choice for anyone seeking authentic Mediterranean cuisine presented with quality and care. Highly recommended for both casual diners and those looking for a dependable, well-run establishment.

Google
Food is priced in accordance with portions and location. We really enjoyed the food. There is room for sitting inside but this design is not a traditional restaurant. The service is great. The employees are patient, friendly and helpful.

Google
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pita Paradise that left a lasting impression with its vibrant flavors, generous portions, and welcoming ambiance. From the moment the food arrived at our table, it was clear that this place takes pride in both authenticity and quality. The lamb chops were the highlight of the meal—perfectly grilled with a beautiful char, tender on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. Each bite was rich, juicy, and flavorful, enhanced by the light smokiness from the grill. Accompanying the lamb was a generous serving of yellow rice that was aromatic and fluffy, along with a creamy, smooth hummus topped with olive oil and served with warm flatbread. To end the meal on a sweet note, we had kunafeh, a traditional dessert made of shredded phyllo dough layered with sweet cheese, soaked in syrup, and topped with crushed pistachios. It was warm, gooey, and satisfyingly sweet—an absolutely perfect finish to the meal. I also recommend the Lebanese Tea is super delicious and refreshing, perfect for summer. This place had outside sitting and was super peaceful

Yelp
So excited to have this new Mediterranean restaurant in the area. First, the restaurant is small but so beautifully decorated. The menu is clear, concise and they have a great 20% off special for lunch on weekdays. Staff was super friendly and the kitchen was quick. The food is the best part though. Exactly what you want from a gyro or shawarma wrap or pita. Filled with juicy flavorful meat and just the right about of tahini/sauces. My favorite has to be the beef shawarma which I've never had before, so juicy and seasoned. Fries were crispy and well seasoned and the falafel is freshly dropped, so crisp on the outside and perfectly moist inside. Looking forward to trying a lamb platter and hummus here! Highly recommend and the prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Just terrible in every way. Painfully slow service. Mumbling server. Guys working there are just chatting in a circle while people are sitting there waiting. And man, this part really hurt.... When the simple pita sandwich arrived it was mf-in COLD!! Like they just took cold pita bread out the fridge and plopped chicken in there. I think getting served cold food is the ultimate insult.

Yelp
yum yum and yum !! we sat outside -- food was hot and made to order.. excellent! We got the chicken shawarma bowl + gyro wrap on pita. portions were large to be honest- I could only finish half and took the rest to go! very nice staff too! try it out! I'll be back for sureeee; great quick / healthy*ish meal option in the area!

Yelp
I tried this place this past weekend and LOVED IT! We were greeted with a warm smile. When I was torn between getting a wrap or a pita, the kind gentleman who assisted recommended the pita. I tried the Chicken Shawarma pita with fries and a drink, hummus and labaneh with a side of pita. Everything was super fresh and delicious. I was delighted to see that the fries were the kind of seasoned fries that you wish every place had. I was impressed with the fact that the chicken shawarma was packed with flavor and not dried out like many places do. There also was a ton of chicken packed into the pita which was great for taking leftovers home to snack on later. The service was quick. The restaurant is small and quaint and sits on a corner spot. There is outside seating but we dined inside. I can't wait to go back soon to try a bowl.

Yelp
The ambience isn't so bad. Gives the Mediterranean vibes. The restaurant is small and in a good location. I had the chicken shawarma plate....i didn't care for the rice. The chicken wasn't so bad. I had to take the left overs home to doctor it up. On a good note, I did enjoy the baklava. Service was good.

Yelp
I have been waiting for Pita Paradise on Freret to open for a while now. It was worth the wait. The portions are plentiful without sacrificing any quality whatsoever. Definitely worth a visit or a return trip.

Yelp
This is now my goto place for chicken shawarma and gyro platters! The neighborhood really needed something different and I love that Pita Paradise set up shop here. So far we have tried the Chicken and Beef shawarma plates and found them both plentiful and tasty!

Yelp
So SO happy this place finally opened! The food was so yummy, perfectly seasoned, and still hot by the time we got home. They give you very generous portions (I'll have leftovers for days--YAY) so it is well worth the price. The staff is also super friendly. Excited to see them grow and will definitely be back soon! I got the chicken shawarma plate, which comes with rice, a salad, and hummus. And I also got fries with what I'm assuming was toum?? I still don't really know what it was but it was delicous and I'm obsessed. Inside seating area was also cute and quaint. 10/10

Yelp
LOVE IT. this is my 1st time visiting Nola & I've gone to many restaurants.. This is 100% the best food I've had since being here. Greek is my favorite food & I can be a bit picky, but this place knocked it out of the park. Friendly service, homemade/authentic food, & they got it out quick! Very happy to have made this choice :) They even gave us free baklava! Please go here

Yelp
Wooowwww!!! Found this gem right by the house. I ordered Door Dash to see how it would be. I was delighted to find my food was packaged with care and still nice and warm on arrival. The flavors were spot on for me. The chicken was moist and tender. The rice was fresh and had such a good aroma. The salad was a crisp cool addition. I will definitely be ordering again. Why four stars? I am going to go and dine in for the full experience and then I will do an update.

Yelp
Amazing place - definitely a grade above! The hummus tasted like it was home made, the chicken kabob was perfectly seasoned, and the shawarma was juicy and fresh, none of that dry stuff that has been roasting for days. Tried some pistachio baklava that was also fantastic! But the highlight for me was the fried kibbeh - it's not a regular menu item yet (as of 4-17-2025) - but when I asked for one they said they're tweaking/experimenting with the recipe but would let me have some. Woah, very very good. I have had my fair share of kibbeh and this was different: the filling had a really rich flavor I can't quite describe. I hope they make it a regular item soon! Another plus: super friendly folks working there! Highly recommended

Yelp
If you like shawarma and Mediterranean food I would recommend a stop by Pita Paradise on Freret. It seems to be a family run place that has a variety of options and great portions. We ordered a chicken shawarma pita and a falafel bowl. The falafel bowl was undoubtedly too much for someone to finish in one sitting. You are probably waking away with leftovers for one lunch maybe two. The chicken shawarma pita was packed with chicken, but next time I would try something different. We sat outside but there's also indoor seating available. Would recommend for some quick lunch!

Yelp
Pita Paradise is perfection. We've been here several times and it's consistently delicious. The staff are always incredibly hospitable and the restaurant itself is charming with its faux ivy bower inside and colorful mosaic lamps. Most importantly, the food is delicious! Large portions of rice and hummus accompany the meats. One of my favorites is the Adana kebab. A close second is the chicken shawarma bowl. Tasty food and friendly personable service--you can't ask for anything more!

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious. The best gyros in the city and the people who work there are incredibly kind and welcoming!

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood so was excited to try this place out but unfortunately was very disappointed. I got the Chicken Shawarma plate to go and it was only 1/4 chicken (mostly hummus, salad and rice) and the chicken that was given was mostly either dry or fatty. I couldn't eat most of it. Considering I paid $20 for the plate of mostly sides, it was absolutely not worth the price. The vibe of the place feels like it should be an affordable, authentic grab and go spot but prices do not reflect that. The hummus was pretty good so hopefully it was an off night with the chicken but it still feels overpriced.

Sam B.

Yelp
It's a little hole in the wall but the food is great. Large portions. We couldn't finish our lunches. And the 20% off at lunch is a great idea. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you.

Yelp
So happy this is open now. Such a great addition to the neighborhood! Authentic and delicious Chicken Shawarma, hummus, and falafels. Owner and staff are super helpful and kind. Very attractive space and love that we can dine inside or al fresco. Overall great place and experience. Can't wait to return and try the lamb chops.

Yelp
Delicious and very fresh! Great service as well. We got the chicken shawarma wrap, falafel, and gyro pita and it was all delicious with large portions

Beth M.

Yelp
Fantastic chicken shwarma pita and gyro wrap! What a perfect addition to the neighborhood! Food is scrumptious. They are super sweet, too! I highly recommend!

Addie C.

Yelp
Chicken shawarma pita was amazing and came with garlic dip on the side. Fries were crispy and amazing too. Super friendly will definitely be back

Yelp
Pita Paradise lives up to its name and then some. This spot is an absolute must if you're craving fresh, authentic Mediterranean food. Everything on the menu is thoughtfully made and bursting with flavor--I ordered the Gyro Combo and was blown away. The meat was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the sides were just as impressive. The hummus? Out of this world. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and full of character--especially with those gorgeous hanging lights that give it a unique charm. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down for a full meal, Pita Paradise knocks it out of the park. It's rare to find a place that nails both quality and value like this. Easily one of my favorite spots in New Orleans!

Ari T.

Yelp
solid portion, good service, they gave me a free baklava. fries could've been cooked more, but good overall. I'll be back

Ethan C.

Yelp
The gyro sandwich here is really good--fresh, flavorful, and well-made. The staff was helpful and genuinely cared about making sure I had a good experience. Great food and great service. I'll definitely be back!

Billy C.

Yelp
Ordered the Gyro platter through uber eats. Was supposed to include pita and tzatziki sauce but neither was included. Called and they basically just said yeah don't order through uber but that's it. For a place called Pita paradise seems weird they would completely forget pita.

Alexandra T.

Yelp
Nice addition to the Freret neighborhood. Gyro pita was fresh and delicious. Will be back!

Adele G.

Yelp
A great lunch spot! The beef shawarma pita sandwich was amazing- so flavorful! I'd also recommend asking for the garlic sauce. Decoration is very nice for a small restaurant and prices were very good- generous portions! Very friendly staff as well- will be back soon!

Ashley P.

Yelp
Food was great!! Fried cheese was great and the chicken schwarma bowl was delicious. Will be back. Great service.

Madison B.

Yelp
I had the chicken shawarma wrap and it was delicious. This is the best Mediterranean in nola I've had in a while. The staff was also super friendly. I'm so happy this place opened and will be one of my new go-to lunch spots!

Folke E.

Yelp
I ordered the steak shawarma a couple of weeks ago and it was great ! The hummus was good too!

Caitlin M.

Yelp
The gyro wrap was perfect. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Ambiance was casual. It's a great addition to Freret street for dining in or carrying out.

Pamela G.

Yelp
We had a delicious lunch at Pita Palace!! The humus was excellent. Combo with side salad and grilled chicken in a pita was outstanding. Everything was fresh and tasty! We will definitely be back soon!

Smith J.

Yelp
Ordered the chicken shawarma wrap. Let's just say I haven't left the bathroom in hours. Painful. Chicken wasn't cooked throughly. Don't recommend.
