Best Gay Bars in Washington, D.C. According to Eater Editors | Eater DC

"The 10,000-square-foot gay bar in the heart of Adams Morgan features plenty of flat screens to view live sports and play video games. The colorful bar has a dance floor, two lounges, two patios, and plenty of space to cruise from one room to another. That’s not all. Downstairs is A League of Her Own, also known as ALOHO — a bar dedicated to queer women. Pitchers also manages to snag RuPaul’s Drag Race queens for late-night performances, hosts sweaty dance nights, and popular Thirst Trap Thursday drag events." - Evan Caplan

My friend and I, both people of color, visited this bar on a Thursday night around 10 PM for a casual night out. The bartenders were fantastic and welcoming throughout the evening, which made the experience enjoyable at first. Around midnight, we stepped outside for a couple of minutes to get some fresh air. When we tried to re-enter, we were abruptly stopped by a bald white bouncer who told us we weren’t allowed back in without explanation. We waited outside for our ride and watched at least six white people walk in without any issue. We even attempted to follow another white individual in, only to be blocked once again by the same bouncer. The contrast in how we were treated compared to others was clear, unsettling, and deeply disappointing. As someone who just moved here from NYC, this was one of the most blatantly discriminatory experiences I've had. People of color should be aware that this establishment may not be as welcoming as it appears. Staff training and accountability particularly for security are urgently needed. Hospitality should never come with conditions based on race.

We love having Pitchers as a DCGFFL sponsor! The support means a lot to our league, and it's become one of our favorite spots for league events. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the staff is fantastic, and it's the perfect place to unwind and grab a drink with teammates. Grateful for the partnership and looking forward to many more seasons together!

Google
If no stars was an option… Not really gender inclusive when the “all gender restrooms” is actually catered to one gender! One restrooms for “ womens line” only has 2 bathroom stalls and two urinals when the other “all gender” has two urinal but can’t access for “women” so sad for this place. Do better.

I go to Pitchers with my friends 2-3 times a month. I go primarily for the drag shows! I've been watching RuPaul‘s Drag Race since season 4! So I love getting to see the girls preforming, they are so talented and kind hearted! Always remember to tip these lovely Drag Queens! (My only complaint is that the Drag Shows are on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday @8pm, rushing to get a good spot after getting off work at 5pm is a huge pain; but again it's all worth it to see my favorite queens!)

Google
Classic spot in the neighborhood and a staple in the DC LGBT community. Lots of college students come here on the weekends. They’ve got a dance floor in the basement, a separate lesbian bar, and two other additional floors with bars and an outdoor terrace area.

Google
This has been my neighborhood since before Covid. Love the bar and the staff. Martin is my go to bartender and he’s the best. They have a great weekly drag show (Thirst Trap Thursdays) and bring in great RuGurls every month! Me and my crew love this place!

Gigi is an amazing person literally made my night! Plus the drag show was spectacular! Will totally come back! Gigi got this place on lock!

Arianna is AMAZING and one for the best bartenders at Pitchers, honest I don't event go when she's not working!

Yelp
Went here for trivia. Really enjoyed the trivia hosts and the types of questions they ask! Will definitely go back for another trivia night. Trivia 5/5 For food we got a burger and chicken sandwich. Both were ok, rather basic and the fries were meh. Nothing special but I guess ok for bar food. Food 2/5

Yelp
I love the gaming consoles and good music but the bartenders and bouncers suck. Usually mean straight male bouncers. Bouncer aggressively didn't allow a friend in with his REAL ID. Drinks are also pricy.

Yelp
Ambiance - Music video - floor 2 - so much fun!! Loved seeing the music videos on the wall. Got packed fast during middle of night but so fun!! You felt like you were doing karaoke in a way. 3rd + rooftop floor - was fun a bit hot due to the weather this day but would be cute im sure on other days. So spacious and so many areas to be at if you feel uncomfortable Cool decor! Food - sooooo good everything!! Sweet potato fries, fried pickles, philly cheese steak egg rills, mac and cheese bites, alll so damn good! Drinks - good! Fair priced i got a seltzer iced tea peach and it was good my first time. Location - on a busy street easy to find. Service - was great no complaints here

Yelp
I love that there's a space like this in AdMo! Queer haven with good food, big crowds, and great queer programming. It feels like a place where you can really be yourself!

Yelp
This is a racist bar against brown people and I truly hate to see in the chocolate city. The security guard rejected my girlfriend for being to "wobbly" when standing in line when she literally had ZERO drinks. What's that about?!?!?!?!?!??!??!?!? Wow. Gladly took ourselves to the bar up with no issues because we were able to provide our IDs with no issues.

Rella C.

Yelp
This bar was amazing! I was visiting DC with some friends and we popped in here for a couple of drinks. Prices were very reasonable for DC and we loved playing Mario Kart in the bar together! The staff were very nice as well. Will definitely be coming back here the next time I'm in DC.

Yelp
Not for the Faint of Heart I fainted at Pitchers the other night because I was drunk and dehydrated. And while I understand that at that moment I was a liability, I struggle to understand their need to rush me out of the establishment in under 3 minutes. The staff was kind enough to bring me some water and give me a fist bump (?) but treated me like a leper that must be instantly evacuated. I think situations like these can tell you a lot about a bar's character: I understand the need to remove someone who is belligerently drunk and disturbing other customers. But I was quiet, respectful, and apologized for all the commotion. I just needed somewhere to sit for 5 minutes to catch my breath and recover. It wouldn't have cost Pitchers a dime to let me rest for bit while my friends figured out how to get me home. That's the courteous thing to do. That's the right thing to do. Instead we were hastened out with much discomfort. I was never a huge fan of Pitchers to begin with: the music is almost exclusively top-40s, the drinks are lackluster, the atmosphere is uncool, and the decor screams capital one float at pride parade. If that's your speed, you'll have a ball... but this experience left a sour taste in our mouths and we won't be coming back!

Yelp
My absolute favorite place I. DC! I come here every week and the staff have become like family (shoutout Eric, Ortiz, and Miguel!) The drinks are always perfect, they're so kind, and make sure every patron is happy and safe. The vibe is always great, empty or packed. I cannot overstate the awesomeness enough; You have to experience it for yourself! P.S. the chicken tenders are the best I've ever had.

Yeymi T.

Yelp
Vibes were there until I met the "owner" not sure if it was but seem true (the security were so much friendlier and more understanding than he was ) and well he was absolutely unwelcoming I gave this place a chance even after everything I saw on social media about it being just for certain ppl well he prove their point you just know when you know. Staff was friendly but well for my first experience that man really killed it

Yelp
This is the email I sent the owner. After reading these reviews, I don't anticipate a satisfactory outcome. "I have been coming to this establishment for 2 years now and today I am irate at the treatment my wife faced from one of the men up front on the Pitchers side. It was 4:30pm and Pride weekend. We were turned away initially for our backpacks because of safety concerns. Understandable. We went two stores down and purchased the only "fanny pack" available for entrance as you had posted. We gave the owner of that store our snacks in exchange for holding on to our larger bags while we go to Pitchers knowing we were going to eat real food. When we returned to your establishment, we were told that the fanny pack holding our wallets and medications was too big (though it is smaller than 11 inches). We were aware there was no line at the time so my wife began asking clarifying questions about what we can do for the bare essentials enclosed for our medical conditions. Everything was calm and cordial until barely into her second or third question, the man interrupted her yelling "Look lady! I'm not gonna argue with you. I said what I said!" turning heads of those sitting on the patio of the restaurant next door. My wife, a fawner, has NEVER in her life been argumentative. Instead, she was asking clarifying questions so we could just eat in this supposed "safe space". We don't even drink alcohol. Now, I know based on past experiences, this unprofessionalism will take us DAYS to pull her back up. This was incredibly heartbreaking to witness. Honestly, we will never be returning here again but, I do have a few suggestions on what can be done so others don't face what we did. - First, post the dimensions of the fanny pack that you would LIKE to see in your establishment. - Second, ask your patrons to open their bag for a search (similar to other businesses offering the same services). - And most importantly, you can explain to your staff that yelling in NOT how we handle customer inquiries as this place markets to a community that endures more trauma than most. Hope this helps."
google avatar

Nick K.

Yelp
The absolute rudest staff I have ever experienced. My boyfriend was profiled for having a small bag while plenty of patrons walked in with much larger fuller bags, and when we expressed our concerns after already having been there for over 2 hours to the new security guard and the staff member who refused to listen to our concerns, they threatened to kick us out?! Absolutely the most inconsiderate establishment we have ever experienced. As queers in a queer place, we should feel safe, and they made us feel very much the opposite. Do not go to this place. Beware of these people. Watch out for these people.

Yelp
Fun ambiance, pours are heavy and love the different layouts but for the love of god PLEASE GET A NEW/BETTER DJ.

Yelp
Pitchers is such an amazing addition to the ADMO area. They have so many rooms and vibes throughout one establishment. You can chill and drink/eat or go hard in a club vibe, or sit and sip and play video games. This is such a perfect spot for LGBTQ+ people where previously there wasn't anything to get! I always have blast at their events whether it's a drag show or a show tunes night! They really cater to their crowd and make it a lively and fun environment for any day/night of the week!

Yelp
excellent service, went for my partners 21st and it was great! the loaded tater tots were fantastic and all their food options looked really appetizing. i loved the vibe too, they had games to play which were a lot of fun and we could pick the music. it was a great time. and very very gay.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times and usually love it, but had a weird situation with the bouncer when me and my LEGAL friends with real government ids got denied for having "fakes". not sure if they had something go down where they are now being very strict but he said our IDs didnt have "holograms", which they obviously do they're all government issued IDs. yeah he made us feel pretty stupid and when i tried to explain why I had a Michigan ID (college student living in DC) he banned me for life saying I was a liar probably would try to go back but unfortunately i am now banned for life

Yelp
THIS BARTENDER STOLE FROM ME AND THEN LIED ABOUT IT!!! My friends and I walked over to the pride flag to take a picture. I saw that my friends had their drinks with them, so I went back to the table as soon as we walked away to grab my drink. I saw that the bartender he was pictured here immediately grabbed my food and my drink, and threw it away and poured it out. This all happened in less than 60 seconds, I am not exaggerating. I approached her at the bar and asked her to pour me another drink because what my friend had ordered for me was a double bourbon with ginger and there is 3/4 of the drink left. We had actually called an Uber to go to the next place with my friend canceled because we needed to finish our drinks first. I asked her to pour me another drink, because I just saw her port out, and she said you're not allowed to leave your drinks. Then the other bartender came over. I explain to them exactly what I have written here. A manager comes over and then the manager talks to female bartender. The manager says that the bartender told her it was just ice. At this point, I got very upset, and I proceeded to tell the manager that her employee was lying, and I brought my friends downstairs who confirmed there is more than 3/4 of that drink left when she poured it out. Then the manager proceeds to say that they don't pour devils even though they poured me a double. The gay bartender has a whole attitude, the white girl with the green hair, who poured my drink out in the first place is rolling, her eyes huffing and puffing, and not making eye contact. The manager looks at me like I am the issue and walks away. My friend literally paid for a drink for me and they just threw it out and then they poured me a very weak drink to try to compensate for it when I wouldn't let it go. This is not the first time something like this has happened to me at this establishment. My friends of color have had very similar things happen to them here. Look out for this bartender her. If she is on the same floor that you are ordering your drinks on, do not order your drinks there. She will pour it out, and she will lie about it, and then the management, and the other bartenders will look at you like you're an angry, black woman, or a transsexual. This was a horrible experience, I cannot believe this happened to me, this is disgusting. So much for gay family and love is love.

Yelp
Best gay club/bar/dance floor in DC!!! Love the vibe and inclusiveness of every room in this bar except downstairs where people take themselves to seriously. I like the many different option and levels/rooms this bar has to offer. Gaming room upstairs if you want to chill and do a friendly competition at retro games. Love the dance floor area mid-level and rooftop areas as well. Very well put together I highly recommend this beautiful place with most of the time beautiful people.

Yelp
Wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to David the owner and the staff there at Pitchers DC. I was out Halloween night and lost my ID. Worried about the situation all day Wednesday I received a message on Facebook from David stating that they found my ID and it's there at Pitchers. For him to go above and beyond to find me on Facebook and message me was something I appreciate more than they know. I am in awe of the kindness of the people there and encourage everyone to go there for a good time filled with kind people.

Natalie M.

Yelp
‼ Please, for the love of god Pitchers, get new DJs for the dance floor!‼ Me and my friends are here every weekend and love the atmosphere, but the DJs have been consistently horrendous to the point where we have to leave and go somewhere else for good music. No one wants to hear the DJ talk over the music, and please play things we can actually dance to!!! I love the Pitchers community and the space; four floors with basement bar, restaurant, dance floor, and outside patio! Only complaint is the dance floor DJs.
google avatar

Joe L.

Yelp
Gotten worse over time, used to be fun. It's gotten much more apparent that bartenders seem to want to take care of white customers first before attending to a person of color, so it makes sense that white patrons would have a better experience here. You as a POC could be standing there for several minutes but a white person who just got to the table will be asked for their order almost immediately. The DJ on the dance floor is also especially lazy. They do not mix, the tracks (even the ones with a remix) are made and reused from previous bars/clubs. An even worse DJ crime, they also play the ENTIRE song. So if it's not your jam, you have to stomach it for another 4 minutes. It feels like someone is just playing off their Spotify playlist and then looking busy behind the counter. Good side: video games.
google avatar

Rumit P.

Yelp
Decent 3-level bar. Hang your own coat on the coat rack. Convenient. The ambiance was nice with video game consoles set up along the walls. However, the top floor reeked of feces. I'm not sure how anyone could work like that. No smoking or vaping allowed on the outside patio. They evidently aren't able to make a martini or mojito or even permit a double on drinks. Drinks were only $4 for rail, so can't complain. Just order a vodka soda or rum and coke. On Friday night around 9:30pm, there were barely any people inside. Go later in the evening for more of a crowd.
google avatar

Yelp
Here practically every weekend New management has made it even more fun with themed nights added onto the regular trivia and drag show nights Always a good safe time here and never once had a bad experience shoutout to TJ who's my fav bartender

Yelp
Here is the updated review for those wondering why the first had 3 stars. I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt, but they're still on the same bullshit.
google avatar

Brett T.

Yelp
Pitchers is a fun multi-level gay "sports" themed bar in DC. The focus isn't on sports but more on video games and having a good time. In the basement, the League of Her Own is DC's only lesbian bar. Guys are able to be there but it's best if you're with female friends. The first floor, has a sports themed restaurant/dining area. The menu is fun and playful stadium fare. Think hot dogs, pretzels, fries, and more. There's also a new dance floor room and bar just around the corner from the bathrooms. Going upstairs, the 2nd floor, has a medium sized balcony/porch area, a bar, and a video game/pinball and billiards area. Then finally, the 3rd ish floor has yet another bar and an even larger balcony/rooftop open area. From what I've seen and experienced this place gets rather packed but I haven't had trouble ordering a drink. Pro tip: They also have neat orange "Gatorade" containers at each bar with ice water. No need to ask a bartender for water unless they're empty.

Yelp
Pitchers is an amazing place to hang out with friends- affordable bar food, outdoor patios, drag shows on Thursday. The workers there are also very friendly. The only reason I give them a three is because when I went there a few weeks ago the dance floor was too hot. If they are going to accommodate a large amount of people on the dance floor, they need to crank up the AC. Several people found themselves trying to stand under the air vent, which as I reflect on it was quite humorous. They do have good music though. Billboard Top 100 (give me some Whitney, Ariana, and Gaga any day!) I highly recommend Pitchers for anyone who is DC LGBT bar hopping. You may have to take an Uber to get there though.

Gaby P.

Yelp
5 stars for drinks (specifically the flavored vodka options) 5 stars for bartenders attentiveness and quick service 5 stars for the crowd - the best people come to Pitchers! 0 stars for the DJ last weekend (12/10). Not sure who the heck the DJ was but the dance floor was unimpressed and dying for some gay pop. 50% of the music was just house music with no lyrics. This is a gay bar, play music we can sing to! When we asked him to play ABBA "Gimme Gimme" he shrugged like that wouldn't work. WHEN HAS GIMME GIMME NOT WORKED? A few minutes later he played an ABBA song and the dance floor went WILD. We then asked him to play a Fletcher song "Becky's So Hot." He goes "I have no idea who Fletcher is. And I can't play anything by them because it's a set playlist." First of all, I am astounded that a DJ at a LGBTQ+ bar has no clue who one of the top lesbian artists of 2022 is. Secondly, is a DJ unable to pivot and add a song request to a queue? I think this DJ wanted to be at Echostage. Come on Pitchers, know your queer audience and maybe check the DJ's set ahead of time.

Yelp
Pitchers is one of the newest gay bars in the district since opening in summer 2018, and it already is a leading contender as one of the best gay venues in DC! Pros: -Spacious -Casual atmosphere -Serves dinner -They carry game systems! -Prices lower than average! ($4 drinks and $5 shots) -Caters to both gays AND lesbians (I'm not aware of anywhere else that so cleanly brings the groups together) Cons: -Pretty far from the metro and other gay places (if you wanted to bar hop) -The game controllers need to be replaced (all of them have sticky buttons) Pitchers is only 3 floors, but it is expertly subdivided so that it feels like there 5 floors with 2 balconies! The atmosphere isn't as threatening as other gay bars/clubs, people there seem to always be in good spirits and not looking to outdo one another. They have game systems available for play! From popular favorites like the new Smash Ultimate to some classics. A great way to just jump in and meet people. And since they also have a lesbian bar (A League of Their Own) as well as a gay bar, it fosters community in a way that I haven't seen before in a bar, especially on the dancefloor. I'd highly recommend this bar for anyone in DC who wants to have a carefree good time!
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
I have been to this bar a few times, but tonight I was kicked out. I'm straight, but have only been here with gay friends. Tonight, we had a few drinks, and before going to the upper floor to dance, I waited in line for the bathroom. I was tipsy and swaying back and forth a little. An employee came up to me and told me I had to leave. I asked what I did wrong and was told I was too drunk. I have never in my life have been asked to leave a bar before (I'm 31) and can't make sense of it. I was not aggressive or offensive and did nothing wrong.

Yelp
Pitchers is truly one of my favorite bars in DC, and it's exactly what the city's LGBTQ+ scene has been missing. The spot has three segments: the top floor is your traditional dance floor and bar, with all the energy, activity, rambunctiousness, and alcohol that you're looking for to fuel you through a long night. Their taste in music is...solid, but not quite what I was expecting? Even so, that might have just been the case for the night that my friend and I decided to stop by. We still had a really great time on the dance floor regardless. The middle floor is a restaurant-ish type area, with more seating, food, drinks, and light music. I spent most of my time, however, in the basement. Pitchers' lowest floor is home to a wonderful speakeasy called "A League of Her Own" that has just the most incredible of vibes. The bartenders are remarkably sweet, the drinks are solid, and there's just enough music to keep up the ambiance while not overpowering conversation. There are several little TV stations, some of which were showing movies (I believe they were watching Captain America: Civil War the last time I was here?), and others of which had video games. They had various Mario games, old and new, on various consoles. Pitchers is a great place to visit regardless of the vibes that you're looking for!

Yelp
I've seen negative reviews for this place and allegations of racism. However my personal experience is everybody I've met that works there is cool. I've managed to not run into the owner though so can't give negative or positive response on them.

Yelp
Pitchers DC has been open for over half a year. After visiting on Thursday, I'm disappointed that I didn't make my way there earlier to check it out. The space is open and inviting, and the crowd is mixed and friendly. The bartender, Mike, was wonderful. He took the time to research and make me a drink that he didn't off the top of his head. A League of Her Own, Pitchers' sibling establishment, is easily accessed once inside, and both businesses share the same restroom facilities. I look forward to making Pitcher's a regular stop.
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
Visited on 7/3 after a crappy experience before. Decided to give it a second chance. Got to the bar, went downstairs for a drink - I like A League of Her Own. Went back upstairs to wait for a table outside, and started dancing on the music. Got yelled at by one of the bartenders that "dancing was not allowed to occur until 10 PM." I asked if he was joking and he said "no, you're ruining the integrity of the bar." Do not go here if you're looking for a good time. I would give this 0 stars if I could. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't play bangers if you don't expect me to dance.

Yelp
Super fun dance floor! Favorite bar in DC no doubt, it's a fun and accepting environment.

Yelp
So me and friends went there it was so bad could get any help the Bartenders just Ignored us just as if we were not there we were a group of 4 people looking to have drinks and chilling but were felt like we was not welcome there so we left..

Yelp
10/10 evening, can't recommend highly enough. Stopped by with my girlfriend and we had the best time

Yelp
Pitchers/A League of Her Own is a much needed queer and inclusive space in DC. As a queer woman, I was so happy to hear about ALOHO opening. As great as some other LGBTQ spots in DC are, they certainly lean to a cis-male centric vibe. I think Pitchers/ALOHO is the perfect mesh of party atmosphere with a spot to chill with a good beer. The Nintendo is definitely a fun and unique addition to the spot. I have 10000% only positive things to say about the awesome bar staff down in ALOHO. They're friendly and know how to mix up a consistently great drink. If it's a busy night and you're not feeling like clubbing, fair warning that you'll have to order food if you want to sit at a table on the main level. They're pretty strict about that, but hey, the tots hit the spot if you're a bit tipsy.

Yelp
This place is one of a kind! It's huge! Different floors and bars, David Peruzza makes sure his staff is well taking care of and that people treat them with respect. Fun place to have a beer or two, enjoy a fun drag show or go "crazy" fun! Nothing too crazy, just a fun place! Whoever have this place bad reviews is because they think they are going to a fancy smancy place, which is not the purpose. This is a sport bar open to EVERYONE! LGBTQ+ and ally's are welcome! Great music, great ambiance, great people!

Yelp
*I am editing the text of my original review after my communication with the owner of Pitchers. I wanted to write regarding a very negative and hostile experience I had while trying to visit Pitchers on Friday 3/12/2021. We wanted to have a drink at a league of her own and saw a sign to check in at pitchers. As we proceeded to walk into pitchers a very hostile and aggressive man who works here, and I believe is the owner, walked up behind and screamed at us asking what we think we are doing. He loudly yelled at us in our face "we are not sitting anyone for the rest of the night, last call is in four minutes!" I can't imagine what we did that sparked his rage and hostility. All we wanted was a drink and would have gladly left and come back another night if he explained in a professional way they weren't taking any more customers. Are all employees at pitchers allowed to act aggressive and scream at customers for absolutely no reason? We were not problematic, we hadn't even said a word to anyone. There is no good reason that potential customers should be treated like we were treated. There was another guy (the host) that was much more professional than the first guy who screamed at us. He explained in a better way why they were no longer seating people. Had this been told to us by him at first, I would've never given this place a low rating. I will update my review if I ever decide to come back here.

Yelp
Went to Pitchers this evening with my parents who are visiting from out of town and 3 friends for just a few drinks to celebrate my birthday. The upper floor was packed way beyond capacity, and yes my parents are older (but cool) so we opted to stay down stairs. The bouncer said we could not stand at the bar and needed to go upstairs- the (very wide) aisle needed to remain open for food servers. There was no way we were going up there so we grabbed a table (there are very few to begin with and even fewer were occupied), had a few drinks and appetizers and a decent time. No big deal at all, grabbing the table was a great option. However, as we got up to put on our coats, briefly say our goodbyes and leave, we were immediately confronted by another employee aggressively telling us to go upstairs (seriously don't understand how they could admit that many people up there per fire code). I explained we are literally trying to leave. You cannot leave without standing up for at least a brief moment to prepare yourself to go out into the winter cold. I had to repeat myself multiple times before he backed off and moved on to harass other patrons who were doing the same thing. Seriously, I get it but the level of aggression over this precious (very wide) aisle was a bit over the top.

Yelp
I really like this place. It's a much safer bar and everyone minds their own business. The crowd is great and has so many options for everyone. I would have liked them to have more tap beers. They currently have only 2. The waiters are very friendly and the bartenders are great. Definitely will be visiting here quite often. Always have your ID to get in here. It's a strict no-entry otherwise.

Yelp
In a world of shrinking LGBT establishments, here comes Pitchers. Two buildings and three stories of safe space. The weekends are busy the crowds are fun. The downstairs on omg the building is called A League Of Her Own, ALOHO. ALOHO is for females only(like the movie with Rosie O'Donnell) The staff is friendly and professional. If looking for a fun crowd with top 50 dance music and good drinks then this is your place. It's a sports bar without the sports ! There are TVs and video games throughout which give it more than a usual meat market vibe and outdoor patios for fresh air and conversations. All though no parking, I would Uber!

Yelp
Martin was an exceptional bartender. He made our experience a 10/10. We are visiting from out of town and enjoyed the banter and personal connection we made with him. Would definitely come back just for Martin!!

Yelp
I would like to say: I had my birthday at Pitchers and had friends gay and straight, male and female in attendance. No one was treated with disrespect. That said, do not bring your bachelorette parties to gay bars! We are are not foreigners performing for your tourist amusement and we are not a sideshow. These spaces exist for the LGBTQ community and bringing a bachelorette party here is not just privileged and arrogant, it's being a bad ally.

Yelp
A little bit of everything. There is a void that cannot be filled after Town has closed its doors, and Pitchers isn't trying to fill it. Yes, it's a massive place where you can assemble with friends. Yes, it has outdoor areas. Yes it has a dance floor. Though there is something else entirely new happening here that I'd like to highlight. First, it's "nooks and crannies" include more quiet corners, board games, and video games. They have spaces to stand up and watch groups of people battle it out in Super Smash Brothers, and they have smaller councils set up to just enjoy classics from your childhood. They have a front enclosed space on the second floor for a fresh breeze, and they have a covered "outdoor bar" that's the perfect amount of covered yet open. This place has a lot of space. This place has a lot of unique space. Second, "League of Their Own" (the lesbian bar in the basement) is a fantastic establishment. It gives women their own space, but the freedom to interact with others just by walking up a flight of stairs. This is what DC definitely needed. Third, they have a whole setup for food. I haven't tried it yet, but the main floor and main entrance is designed just for people eating/assembling to play board games. I've been back three times, and I'm ready for more, especially to see how their dance floor develops. I'm excited to have Pitchers in AdMo and I hope it's here for many more years to come.

Yelp
How can you be a sports bar with no sound to games being shown. Your drinks are horrific and you put a surcharge on your martinis that are poured into a regular drink glass and taste terrible. Nothing good about this place

Yelp
Great bar to spend time with friends. It can get loud and very packed so it's not the kind of bar where you will meet someone or have a conversation. Bar food is decent. They do a good job in keeping it a "queer exclusive" establishment and discouraging bachelorettes.

Yelp
The atmosphere is amazing! The decorations are very welcoming and the host and server staff are very friendly! The popsicles are bomb! But... the manager Dave is rude and did not give us a warm welcome. If I don't come back, it is solely due to his attitude towards the customers and staff. Gosh!

Yelp
A club made for straight people. Also, they don't let people in 2 hours before they close. Obviously they don't understand how to make money. The six sucks and it's basically a straight club. Not worth the money.
