The 9 Best Places for Pizza in Chicago - AFAR

"Pizano’s is known for its caramelized, buttery thin-crust pizzas, made under the guidance of Donna Marie, widow of founder Rudy Malnati, Sr. The pizza has gained nationwide reputation, and a new location in Milwaukee has recently opened." - Nicole Schnitzler

Great atmosphere! Even though this is a chain it gives that local, family-run vibe. The menu has a bigger selection of options than the average pizza place including many home made pastas. They also have a pretty decent list of drinks. The sausage deep dish pizza is delicious and consistent everytime. The Pizano's signature salad is also one of my go to items.

Went two times. The first time, we sat outside and enjoyed pasta with some wine. We had a large group and had to downsize our group, so we had to move tables twice. It was our fault, since the group downsized, but it would have been nice to have been able to move just once. The hostess making us move was not nice and very pushy. Our server was great though. The second time, we ordered Vegas bombs at the bar, which surprisingly, were great and extremely reasonably priced! The bartender was pretty personable. If we hadn’t taken those Vegas bombs though, the skillet cookie we ordered wouldn’t have been edible. Felt like I needed a steak knife to cut through the rock hard, over-baked cookie. Good thing we had a few drinks in us. Overall, average to mediocre restaurant. Probably will not return or recommend.

Not my favorite Pizza place in the city, but still pretty good. They do deep dish pretty well and the bruschetta is tasty. They have a good outdoor seating space and can accommodate large groups. They have a decent beer list and options for people who don't want beer.

We drive six hours (literally) and this was the one meal we knew we would have while in Chicago...worth every mile of the drive. Old school deep dish with a crispy crust, pasta for miles, and desserts to die for. Best service ever...they make you feel like family.

Good food! Tried deep dish pizza for the first time so I have nothing to compare it to but I liked it. The waiter was super friendly and funny. We sat outside and also had a good espresso.

My favorite deep dish in Chicago so far. Service was great and they easily kept a table of 10 people well supplied with drinks. I'll definitely recommend this place to friends.

Was excited to visit Pizano's after hearing it was one of the original Chicago joints for deep dish pizza. Shocked that I haven't been to any of their locations but this is definitely a good one with a nice outdoor dining area and $3 mimosa/bloody mary deal on Sunday. Love all the Chicago sports memorabilia on the walls. Good pan pie with a crispy crust. Def a joint I'd revisit and/or order out.

Three strikes and you’re out Pizanos! This location cannot seem to get it right or figure out how to deliver food on time. Our most recent order was delivered late, which is a trending problem with them, and three of the four items we ordered were incorrect. After calling the location to make them aware they said they would look into it call us back. After 20 minutes of waiting and no phone call, we called them again. Finally we spoke with a manager who argued with us about how they were right and we were wrong and then she hung up on us! Terrible customer service. Terrible food. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
