Aggressive prick owner...
Love the pizza, always have for +30 years, never going back...
Planned a family reunion with as many cousins as we could get before we went out of town, could have gone anywhere with our group but advocated for one of our lifelong favorites.
We expressly went on a Tuesday to make sure we minimized disruption. Friend of ours called the night before and were told 12 was the max we could reserve - No problem - totally get it, but I can't tell family to stay home and 12 became 20. My wife and I went down early and told them proactively we were sorry for the chaos but would (and DID tip in the 200% range for the inconvenience - not a typo).
Server was great, kitchen was great, food was great, but the owner treated our party and the person who called for reservations like absolute garbage.
He pulled our friend aside and over and over complained about the 12 person max... i totally missed this but apparently 3 different people were made to feal completely unwelcome, After the party left, wife and I were in the car where i was made aware of his attitude and how our family was made to feel, so I drove back to give some feedback and understand what the problem was...
Feedback was not at all "in your face", just like "help me understand the issue" and why he felt it was on to treat people like that. We filled the restaurant (throughout the night, nobody was waiting for a table as being sensitive to the over loading we watched for it) yet 3 people in the party were dressed down and aggressively told that 12 is the max.
Without typing a whole diatribe, suffice to say the feedback fell on deaf ears, as the owner is clearly a child. It was easily 90 degrees in the place, literally fanning ourselves and sweating like we were in the salt mines, not to mention people were meant to feel unwelcome and aggressively "reprimanded" for breaking some arbitrary 12-person max.
Voting with my wallet going forward and I'm encourage others to do the same. Plenty of small businesses out there that are more than happy to welcome groups that fill the restaurant on a Tuesday night and will actively seek them out going forward. Many of which are routinely mentioned in this amazing group, Sad that one night like this could ruin a lifetime of great experiences. It an end of an era and breaks my heart, but this place is dead to me and anyone I know, move on, this kid is an ass and needs to learn what customer service is, unfortunately the hard way as positive feedback is unwelcome here.
