Cash‑only, no‑frills, and beloved since the ’60s, this Lindenwood Park stalwart turns out thin, crackling pies with a sweet‑savory sauce. Riverfront Times calls its pizzas timeless; locals swear by the sausage and the old‑school vibe.

This cute little neighborhood pizza place is very unassuming yet delicious. I've been craving pizza for a while and this really hit the spot! We got a simple sausage and mushroom pizza. The crust was nice and thin and crispy. Prices were very reasonable. They only take cash so make sure you have it on hand.

Google
The pizza is incredible. Order anything. Our server was working a full dining room so the owner (I think) was helping deliver pizzas. It’s a legit neighborhood treasure.

Google
Cash or check only but so worth it! Saw a Facebook post of the Lindenwood neighborhood group asking about best local pizza place and Pizza-a-go-go came up no less than 10 times so I knew I had to try it. I was not disappointed. Even in the parking lot, you could tell it was gonna be good just by the smell. We all go the standard crust and the pizzas were cooked to perfection. I usually ask for my pizza well done, but theirs were perfect as is. I'll definitely be coming back. There is free parking & street parking. The parking lot is kinda of arrangaged weird, but it works for the shape of that lot. There are about 5 or 6 tables inside. They also have bathrooms as well. They have fountain soda, and it might be BYOB for alcohol because a table behind us brought their own beer, but I'm not too sure on the policy there. Overall, great place! I will be back! Not the most inaccessible place for a wheelchair that I've been, but there is a slight lip to get into the building. I also do not recall if there is an accessible parking spot or not

Google
Good pizza and super fast times called in an order on a Saturday night and got it within 15 minutes. Not STL style for anyone wondering but is still a delicious pizza. Lots of toppings but not too many crust was good and so was the sauce and the cheese.

Google
5-Star Review for Pizza-A-Go-Go in St. Louis My family and I recently visited Pizza-A-Go-Go for the first time, and it was an outstanding experience! The pizza was absolutely fantastic—easily my new favorite in St. Louis. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, the sauce flavorful, and the toppings fresh and generous. To top it off, the prices were very reasonable, offering great value for such high-quality pizza. I also appreciate the rich history behind this establishment. Founded by Frank LaFata in 1967 near the corner of Grand and Gravois, Pizza-A-Go-Go has been serving delicious, hand-tossed, New York-style pizza for over 50 years. The restaurant has maintained its commitment to quality and tradition throughout the decades. A quick note for future patrons: Pizza-A-Go-Go accepts cash and checks only, so be sure to come prepared. Overall, I highly recommend Pizza-A-Go-Go to anyone seeking an authentic and delightful pizza experience in St. Louis. We will definitely be returning soon!

I enjoy the pizza. Too many table pigeons that just hang out and drink the alcohol that they bring. Limited seating. Cash only.

Google
This restaurant had been on our to go to list for the past 30 years and today we made it happen. It was well woth the wait and it did not disappoint! We ordered a large half mushroom and half cheese Pizza with thick crust. We enjoyed every bite and had plenty to take home with us. They only offer soft drinks which wasn’t a problem for us. It appears that this place is a BYOB. Owner and staff were accommodating and very friendly. Hope to make it back there soon.

Google
This pizza is the pizza that will bring back memories of pizza before the big chains. My go to is the sausage pizza. The crust is crispy and 1 pizza feeds both my partner and I. The cafe is always clean and orderly; a great place to sit and enjoy your food. Get your order in early on the weekends. This pizza is a local favorite and many homes in the neighborhood have this as their Friday night dinner.

Yelp
A true neighborhood gem, built with love and history! Walking in, you can immediately feel the heart and history behind this place. It's clearly been loved by the community for years. There's plenty of seating, making it a great spot for a family dinner, and the prices are very reasonable. Just a heads-up--they only accept cash or check, so come prepared! We ordered a large pizza with bacon, green peppers, and onions. They were incredibly accommodating when my husband asked for only half the pizza to have the toppings he doesn't like, no problem at all. The owner's son was there and shared a bit about the family history, telling us about his father and grandfather who started the place. That personal touch made our visit even more special. The pizza arrived piping hot, just how I like it, gooey cheese, generous toppings, and full of flavor. They're definitely doing something right here. If you're looking for a cozy, welcoming spot for a weeknight dinner, this is it. Support local and give it a try!

Yelp
Aggressive prick owner... Love the pizza, always have for +30 years, never going back... Planned a family reunion with as many cousins as we could get before we went out of town, could have gone anywhere with our group but advocated for one of our lifelong favorites. We expressly went on a Tuesday to make sure we minimized disruption. Friend of ours called the night before and were told 12 was the max we could reserve - No problem - totally get it, but I can't tell family to stay home and 12 became 20. My wife and I went down early and told them proactively we were sorry for the chaos but would (and DID tip in the 200% range for the inconvenience - not a typo). Server was great, kitchen was great, food was great, but the owner treated our party and the person who called for reservations like absolute garbage. He pulled our friend aside and over and over complained about the 12 person max... i totally missed this but apparently 3 different people were made to feal completely unwelcome, After the party left, wife and I were in the car where i was made aware of his attitude and how our family was made to feel, so I drove back to give some feedback and understand what the problem was... Feedback was not at all "in your face", just like "help me understand the issue" and why he felt it was on to treat people like that. We filled the restaurant (throughout the night, nobody was waiting for a table as being sensitive to the over loading we watched for it) yet 3 people in the party were dressed down and aggressively told that 12 is the max. Without typing a whole diatribe, suffice to say the feedback fell on deaf ears, as the owner is clearly a child. It was easily 90 degrees in the place, literally fanning ourselves and sweating like we were in the salt mines, not to mention people were meant to feel unwelcome and aggressively "reprimanded" for breaking some arbitrary 12-person max. Voting with my wallet going forward and I'm encourage others to do the same. Plenty of small businesses out there that are more than happy to welcome groups that fill the restaurant on a Tuesday night and will actively seek them out going forward. Many of which are routinely mentioned in this amazing group, Sad that one night like this could ruin a lifetime of great experiences. It an end of an era and breaks my heart, but this place is dead to me and anyone I know, move on, this kid is an ass and needs to learn what customer service is, unfortunately the hard way as positive feedback is unwelcome here.

Yelp
Was looking to try a new pizza place and I wanted to do takeout since I was gonna watch the playoff basketball games. Excellently priced and it was a large 15 inch pizza. It was cooked to perfection. This place is definitely concentrating on the fundamentals as they don't have wings, sandwiches, etc And no goofy toppings like pineapple to put on pizza just all the basics like pepperoni, sausage, beef, and the standard fair and vegetables. I would definitely hit this place up again and if you're looking for good solid pizza done right this is it. As many other reviewers have mentioned cash or check only.

Art M.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza.. definitely don't make jokes about the Mafia I suggest the extra Large Special.. btw they only take Cash and No Delivery.. very limited hours.. unbelievable great crust

Yelp
I have been hearing a lot of my friends talk about their love of Pizza-A-Go-Go so it was time to finally try it. I called in our order for takeout, and it was ready fairly quick. When we arrived, there was a small parking lot but plenty of street parking! The staff were really kind, and we laughed about them writing the order down for Ryan instead of Brian. We got home, and the pizza was excellent! The right amount of crunch on the crust, toppings were great, and the cheese was perfect. Would love a little more sauce but I like my pizzas super saucy. Overall very impressed and will go back! General Note: Cash or Check Only!

Yelp
Truly an old-school pizzeria, Pizza-A-Go-Go never disappoints. There's no issue of inconsistency, even down to the minute you're told your to-go pizza will be ready. The pizza choices are straightforward but so satisfying, and the crust is freshly made and delicious. There are so many reasons that Pizza-A-Go-Go has been a St. Louis favorite for so long and is still a go-to for the perfectly made pizza, served with friendly professionalism, even though I've never been there when they weren't busy. Love this place.
google avatar

Alicia B.

Yelp
I tired this place for the first time today. It was pretty solid, it kinda remind me of Sam's Club/Chuckie Cheese pizza but less greasy. I think they are very reasonable, cash only. They don't open until 4pm. Service is fast, the pizza cooks in under 10 mins. Ambiance is an old skool vibe.
google avatar

Jenelle B.

Yelp
Yum!! Crispy crust with generous toppings. Friendly staff. Remember it is cash only. But also BYOB!
google avatar

The D.

Yelp
This is a family favorite pizza place. A great corner pizza place to get a hand tossed pizza with quality ingredients. Reasonable priced too. Our favorite is the green pepper onion and sausage. The only criticism is they changed their pepperoni sometime during the pandemic. Used to have really great "cupping" pepperoni and now just have regular. But that's ok, their sausage is great I have literally sent them grinding their own mozzarella, they do things that fresh!
google avatar

Sami B.

Yelp
No glitz & glam just pizza, been wanting to try here for a while because I've heard good things and it was delicious, I got the Small Special- (Sausage, Pepperoni, Onion, & Green pepper) and it was only 14 bucks and I was able to make 3 meals out of it for myself! My boyfriend got a large pepperoni & bacon and did the same thing. Honestly not much to say besides it was decently priced yummy pizza. I will say I like an appetizer like a salad or fried cheese normally but they only have pizza on the menu, so if your looking for anything extra this isn't your place! I would order again though!

Melanie B.

Yelp
The pizza here is the best! Love their thick crust! Service was excellent abut nd although we took it to go the place seemed nice and clean. I definitely will go back!!
google avatar

MJ T.

Yelp
Exceptional. This will be my weekly Sunday treat. Everything about this pizza was great. Simple yet amazing. Service was awesome as well.

Laura A.

Yelp
Cute little family run place! Cash only and simple menu -- just pizza and soda. They do have waitress service though, for eat-in, which was a surprise. Enjoyed it!
google avatar

Jim heinkel ..

Yelp
Fast friendly service great food and a consistent product worth the price. This is a well established neighborhood business and I'm glad it's here. Businesses like this one make our neighborhood better.
google avatar

Julie A.

Yelp
It's no frills tasty pizza, cash only. It's consistent. You can BYOB when you eat it...a south city classic
google avatar

Tony C.

Yelp
OG Pizza joint. Deliciousness all around. One look and taste of that crust and you're a believer. Bring cash Cannot recommend enough. MUAH

Jim T.

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding, my favorite pizza in all of the metro St. Louis area. I have never had even an average pie there it's always top notch
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Great, taste like a pizza should. If you want pizza and a soft drink, this the place to go. If you want more menu items, you won't find them here. If you want a beer with your pizza, you are welcome to bring your own. I've been a customer for 45 years and they continue to be the best pizza in STL.

Brian L.

Yelp
When you think of waking into a pizza as a kid smelled like, this is it. They the aroma is nostalgic, the prices are affordable, and the pizza is among the best I've had in a long time. Staff is friendly, quick, and lots of regulars. Family owned and a member of that family thanked us for eating in and encouraged us to be back! Not a whole lot on the menu or a big dining room to eat, but damn they make good pizza
google avatar

Audrey B.

Yelp
Very yummy pizza!! So cheesey, soft pillowy crust, great flavor. Fast service too. Cash only but they made sure to tell us on the phone when we ordered :)

C P.

Yelp
I don't understand the hype about the pizza. I picked up today and the crust was so chewy and tough it was hard to bite off and it was so greasy. I waited about an hour for my order - maybe it was off day for you? But I've tried it three time in the new location on Scanlan (including Ivanhoe Day) and it wasn't that great. Perhaps I'm ordering at the wrong time? or ??? Well, thanks for listening.

Gregory G.

Yelp
Without question, the best pizza in town! An old gas station converted to a cute little restaurant serving only pizza and soda. Reasonably priced and very accommodating.
google avatar

Jill H.

Yelp
I wish I could say I liked this pizza but we did not. The people here were really friendly and we were given good service. It looks like a nice little family business that's been around for a long time. If my rating was primary for service, they would be 5-star. But we came for the food. We were in the mood for a good pizza after two long days of moving. None of our group liked the pizza at all. We got a "special" - with sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, onion, and mushrooms. We asked for light cheese, which they did well (extra star). But the veggies all seemed canned. Do they even make canned peppers? Nothing seemed fresh or tasted flavorful. There is a very limited topping selection as well. For example, tomatoes aren't an option. Seriously? I've never been to a pizza place that didn't offer fresh tomatoes as a topping option. Again, I think it may be an issue of not really offering fresh ingredients for the pizza. The flavor of the sauce seemed odd, too. I couldn't identify why, but I didn't care for it. We left disappointed and wishing we'd chosen elsewhere to dine.
google avatar

Goldstein G.

Yelp
Ugliest lookin pizza.. But it tastes glorious. Absolutely spot on pizza. Crust, sauce, cheese, the oregano. They nailed it.
google avatar

Christine J.

Yelp
I've ordered a custom pizza from here and also enjoyed a slice. It's great not having to buy a whole pizza and I like how they rotate the flavors during the week as well having the standard cheese and pepperoni.
google avatar

Erik P.

Yelp
Very good, no fuss pizza. Ordered carry out and they were very friendly both on the phone and when I came in to pick it up. Cash only so hit the ATM
google avatar

Oliver S.

Yelp
We were looking for a pizza place and wouldn't have found this place if it weren't for Google. It doesn't look like much from the outside, and it's very simple on the inside as well. But they've been in business for over 50 years, so they must be doing something right! We had to wait 45 minutes for the pizza, but it was worth it! The waitress was super sweet and attentive, kept topping up our sofas and generally being helpful. The pizza was delicious. It's not where you would bring your date on Valentine's Day, but I'd go here again anytime I want great pizza!
google avatar

Brett P.

Yelp
I used to eat at this place and liked it for years. I recently moved nearby and tried it again, and I was served the worst pizza I have ever had. They told me it wouldn't be ready for an hour, and when I picked it up, it clearly had been sitting around a long time. When I tried to pick up the first slice, it dissolved in my hand into the puddle of grease which had coagulated in the center of the mess. It was inedible, and I discarded it. Money down the drain. I prefer local places and ate from here for years, but I was very disappointed and this was a bad time for me to have this experience as I was entertaining. I will never try to eat here again, and I'll be sure to tell all who'll listen not to waste your money on this slop. Do yourself a favor and give this dump a wide berth.

joe b.

Yelp
Pizza was very good, not an over abundance of options but a good selection and they do pizza very well. They are timely with having your pizza ready when they say it will be ready.
google avatar

Justin D.

Yelp
Great basic pizza. The staff was so nice & pizza is legit. Cash only. I recommend trying.
google avatar

Kurt M.

Yelp
Food was good, ambiance was nice, however the owner could not have been more rude and actually mean spirited. He was rude not only to me but to another guest at our table and the table behind us. The father was a friend of the family but the son is undeserving of such successful business. Will never go back again.
google avatar

Almina Z.

Yelp
Small little spot on the corner. First time stopping by kind of disappointed they didn't have chicken! But the cheese pizza made up for it!! Don't have many options just pizzas! Overall they were really good and fast!

Beto Q.

Yelp
This was my first time ordering from Pizza-a-go-go, and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, the pizza is beyond delicious. The crust was crispy, the sauce was savory, and there was ample cheese and pepperoni. The staff is nice, friendly and caring. It's a small dining room and I took my pizza home, but I would have been perfectly comfortable enjoying my pizza at the restaurant. I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst customer service by any establishment I have ever been to! I have gone here since my parents were bringing me as a child. This business doesn't like to be busy. They are super overwhelmed and basically try to deter you from ordering in a group or coming as a group bc they claim they can't keep up. The service the owner gives is embarrassing. They aren't ashamed to make you feel horrible in front of a restaurant full of people if you come as a group. So if you decide to go here, be warned that they aren't nice people. Btw I had to give at least one star so I could post the review.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Loved it!! Def recommend. Stl has limited pizza options honestly ...this place hit the spot
google avatar

Annette P.

Yelp
Decent pizza. Cheese was super good, but fell off the pizza. It's kinda thin and chewy crust. It's different and I probably wouldn't order it again by my own choice. I can see why people like this, to each their own. I can't speak for service or the inside of the building/atmosphere as it was a take out order.
google avatar

TY Y.

Yelp
First time here, a really great pizza spot in St.Louis! Only 12-15 tables inside for seating, so find a good time to go during biz hours or order takeout. A casual family or friends gathering spot; but if you want anything besides pizza and soda, go find another eatery. Or if you crave pizza like I do everyday, this family run business is worth a stop! Important note if you want to have some vino or bottle of cheer with your pizza, it's BYOB no issues! Also pay by cash or check only. Menu is pizza "your" way or GoGo specials (Special Deluxe, Meat or Veggie). We ordered the "Special" with homemade (so good) Italian sausage, pepperoni, onion, green pepper and mushroom - this was awesome, light crunchy crust with plenty of flavor in the fixin's! Also shared a sausage and mushroom pizza and a small pepperoni extra cheese. Tried 'em all, loved them all!!! I'll definitely return to this family pizza haven soon. Enjoy!!

Don T.

Yelp
Always a great choice for dinner. They have great thin crust pizza with hand tossed crust. Prices are very reasonable. They are friendly and take pride in their work. I understand the cash/check only policy. Credit and debit cards cost the business money to provide. We usually get it to go, they do have a small dining space. They allow you to bring your own adult beverages and provide refrigerator space to keep it cold. Website provides some interesting history of this family owned and operated restaurant.
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
Hands down this is my favorite pizza place in St Louis! It's old school and I love it! They serve pizza and soft drinks. That's it and that's all I need when I want pizza. The crust is like a thin hand-tossed. I normally order the thick crust but both are great. The service is perfect. The owner is always there making sure the operation runs smoothly. CASH only! There aren't a bunch of extras to run up your bill so generally it's not a problem. My large pizza was less than $15. I usually carry a $20 so I had enough for the pizza and a tip. I also love the location of this pizza place. It's in a neighborhood where normal people actually live. I think the location makes the restaurant feel cozier. It's easy to access this pizza place from I-44. They are handling COVID perfectly! If I get COVID, it's not from them! Do yourself a favor and try this pizza place!
google avatar

Nir K.

Yelp
I came to St. Louis from New York just for a business trip, so I'm not really familiar with anything out here, however this place looked great online, so i drove 20 min from my hotel just to try out their pizza, and it was worth any minute I drove there. Not only that it is one of the best pizza i ever had (New york level), the people there were so nice and welcomed me very nicely, which is just as important. (For me)! It's highly recommended! I would give it even 10 starts if I could!
google avatar

Phillip A.

Yelp
It's not all that fancy of a place... It's a pizza and a place to eat said pizza. However, the pizza as a small is good enough to share with two people and it's only $8.50. You buy the pizza, walk over to musers or babes and eat it and it's a perfect mix of good times with alcohol at your local bar. The taste is excellent so give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Benjamin T.

Yelp
When you think of how pizza tastes, looks and smells this is what your brain conjures up. Do yourself a favor, try it. Cash only cuz they're OG.

Larry P.

Yelp
Yummy amazing pizza . Nice owner . Great classic feel. The cheese is phenomenal . I loved it

Matt Z.

Yelp
This is my favorite thin crust pizza in the St. Louis area. Everything is very straight forward about ordering because of a simple menu.

Derek B.

Yelp
Great meat pizza and not skimpy on the toppings. It was ready at the time given. The small was more than enough for 2 of us. Price cant't be beat.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Descent pizza not great. Crust is rubbery and skimpy on toppings. Bring CASH as they don't except cards!

Steven H.

Yelp
Pizza was great! Service was very polite, classic old style pizza parlor. We will return!
google avatar

JL S.

Yelp
I am going tonight and I haven't been in over 20 years. Been living in LALA. When Frank was alive he would see my car coming and start waving. Always loved him and he always knew my order. Large BlackOlive, Shrooms, and Onions overdone. Hoping for a good pie this eve. I had to give it a 5 no matter what.

Yelp
PAGG is a pizza parlor that serves pizza and only pizza. They do one thing and they do it right. The only other thing on their menu is soda. Majority of their customers do what I do and that is carryout. They do not offer delivery and table sitting is limited. Which makes it a true neighborhood pizza joint. They only offer two sizes Small which is 12" and Large 15" and their prices are lower then the major pizza chains. What is weird is their hours, they are open 4-9PM Sunday - Thursday and 4-10PM Friday and Saturday. Then of all days they are closed on Wednesday. Guess they like having hump day off. Their dough is hand tossed so while waiting for your order you will always be treated to a show. Love how they give the pizza a nice crisp bottom. We like the Special which gives us; sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, green pepper & onion. PAGG can not be compared to Good Pie, Dewey's or PI. They are in a different class of pizzas parlors. In my hood PAGG is the better choice over Domino's, Cecil's and Papa John's.
