"Located in the Wesley Heights neighborhood, Pizza Baby, like its name, is youthful and playful, with spritzy aperitivos and sprightly menu fonts and doodles. Order takeout, or dine in for an energetic, multisensory experience — scents of fermented sweet-salty-soft dough, sounds of staff serving, and sights of the cool, airy Los Angeles-meets-Rome aesthetic. Save room for chef Trey Wilson’s Brussels sprouts and sesame seed-crusted pizza, inspired by travels to New York, and the plentiful portion of soft serve (add amaro). Don’t be shy about blanketing everything — the remnants of crispy crust or the lush burrata — in that bonafide Sicilian olive oil or the dipping trio, featuring a crushable Calabrian chili red sauce. While Pizza Baby is in its infant stage, finding its footing with busy nights and new employees, it has promising potential as a fun adult pizza party." - Kayleigh Ruller

The food and drinks were great. Our server was friendly but seemed new. We saw both thick pan style crust like on ours which was good but big. We also saw some regular style crust but the descriptions on the menu was confusing. The calzone was big and tasty. I've got plenty left. The deli sandwich was also big with lots of meat. I'm not much of a deli person but it was good also. The tea was not weak and had good flavor. My old fashion was good enough that I ordered a second one. We purposely ordered enough food to try different things and have enough food for another meal later.

We enjoyed Pizza Baby. We came on a Sunday night with our two children. Unfortunately they were under staffed but the team working was really doing their best so we decided to give them a pass. This is a really good casual pizza spot that is kid friendly. I definitely recommend giving it a shot. Spring salad: 4/5 - really good & would get again Bacon wrapped dates - 4.5/5 - will definitely order these again when we come back Meatballs: 4/5 - really solid Mother pizza: 4/5 (7.2 if you are Portnoy)

Just picked up my online order and I’m so disappointed. We ordered a large pizza, garlic parm wings ($16), and a beer to go($3). We get there and they are out of the beer we choose online instead I had to get a $9 beer (prices of beers are not marked so we didn’t know if he price until we paid for it). Then once we open the wing container we were shocked to get 9 uncooked boiled chicken wings. Usually Garlic Parm is a dry rub so I was expecting something like that but instead we got wet, soggy, undercooked, bland wings. Pizza was good though.

Pizza baby West is our favorite Pizza / Restaurant in Charlotte and surrounding areas! They are not your run-of-the-mill pizza place. They serve a very unique variety of Pizza in Americana style. I am a native New Yorker and it's the closest I can get to back home. They source all natural, local, and imported ingredients and it shows in their food. Their menu is very unique and fresh and authentic Italian. Service is always great and staff are very friendly. But! They are now serving brunch on Saturday and Sundays and the menu is to die for! There is stuffed French toast made on fresh cinnamon brioche bread with a fresh sweet peach compote and syrup, eggs in purgatory with a very flavorful and zesty sauce, and the best breakfast pizza ever! There are sunny side up eggs baked right in and it is amazing to dip the yummy crust into the yolk, as well as sausage, a creamy base, and crispy hash brown potatoes. It is so different and unique and the flavors are just wonderful. They also have bagels and rolls and other baked breads. Oh and they have great cappuccino as well. You just got to try the brunch!

Google
I was really looking forward to trying this place—the photos made the food look incredible. Unfortunately, the flavors didn’t live up to the presentation. The pizza crust and texture were fantastic, but the sauce lacked depth and flavor, leaving the overall dish underwhelming. The wings were decent (I tried the spice blend), but nothing particularly memorable. This restaurant definitely has potential, especially with its beautiful interior design and outstanding staff. However, the food needs more bold, authentic Italian flavor or any FLAVOR to truly stand out.

I’ve walked past several times and it’s always busy and smelled yummy so I wanted to check it out. We ate outside on the patio which was completely shaded for our evening meal. There were corn hole boards out at the bar next door and they were kind enough to let us play while we waited for our food. The pizza was delicious, a bit on the thin side which isn’t my favorite. Our server was very friendly and took good care of us. It was a rather pricy meal for 2 pizzas, cheese bread, and one cocktail though. I would definitely come back but probably not frequently.

Finally tried Pizza Baby in Charlotte, North Carolina. I have to be honest, I was hesitant. I’m from New York City, born and bred and there really isn’t good pizza here. We got there and really enjoyed the ambience. It was a Monday night so it was kind of slow but they played really incredible music and had a great space. The service was fantastic. Our server Ryan was very attentive, efficient and gave us good recommendations. They had a pretty good special on Monday night for wine and beer. They had a decent drink menu also! The pizza was pretty good. We had the mother with pepperoni. Our only complaint is that there was a lot of crust. The burrata was delicious, and I have to say, the bread that came with it with some of the best I’ve had in Charlotte. I sort of wanted to order more bread, but I figured I would go back. The meatballs were awful. Probably one of the worst things I’ve eaten in Charlotte. They were dry and super salty. The bread that came with it though was unbelievable. Will definitely not order that again, but will definitely go back.

Google
Let’s face it, pizza crust is an art; the texture, the flavor, the saltiness, the color, the size and shape, the smell, the process, the overall taste. These guys have mastered it! The crust is perfection. And then to serve that up with great staff in a gorgeous restaurant in an up and coming area … what more could you ask for? Highly highly recommend. My only complaint would be the music volume. Great music, and I’m all for the hip, energetic vibe, but just one notch down to make conversation a little easier.

Yelp
Really nice place, pizza was the best i have had in Charlotte (Im from Pittsburgh) The service was excellent and we sat outside since it was a nice evening and packed inside. Great place, will be back for sure

Yelp
I've tried this place 2 times now. First time was with some friends on a very busy Friday night. We were late for our reservation but they still sat us quickly. The apps especially the pesto were great, cocktails were delicious and came out fairly quick. The pizza was okay. The second time I went it was not as busy, and I went with my husband and son. The service was very slow and almost non existent at one point. My husband was not impressed by the pizza. It was another one of many pizza places in charlotte, all the the same or very similar crust style. I wish Charlotte would realize there other crusts besides the "ny style" oven crust or deep dish. We were hoping this would be that place, it's not.

Maddie K.

Yelp
I think I've found my new favorite pizza spot in Charlotte! My bf and I went for Valentine's Day because we have been hearing great things about this place. I love the feel and decor of the Restaurant. It was pretty packed when we were there but our server was great and kept our drinks full while we waited on the pizza. Highly recommend the pickle martini- it's amazing! I got the hot honey and pistachio pizza. I'm still dreaming about it! So so so delicious. I can't wait to go back and try more!

Yelp
I really wanted to love Pizza Baby, but my first dining experience here left something to be desired. AMBIANCE - The space is beautiful. Perfect for a date night! Love the open kitchen concept. We came on a busy Saturday evening and opted to sit at the bar. For starters, there are no purse hooks under the bar so I had to sit my purse on the barstool next to me. Sorry if that seemed like an asshole move on my part, so please consider installing some purse hooks for your purse carrying customers. :) SERVICE - The bartender who served us could not have been less interested in being there. Her demeanor was cold, she didn't go out of her way to be helpful, it was like pulling teeth to get food and drink recommendations from her. The drinks she made were very good, but her customer service skills could use much improvement. FOOD - We ordered the rosemary pistachio pesto pizza (after reading so many positive reviews about this one). The crust was very nice, but the pizza ate sweet. The menu said there is hot honey on it, but I didn't get any heat. I probably would not order this one again. Overall, the experience was ok. Better customer service would have made this a 4-star review instead of 3-star.

Yelp
I came here on na Sunday around 1. The service was great, i loved the atmosphere, very chill but still not dive like. Our party happened to be there when they cracked open a fresh wheel of Parmesan and we got to sample it fresh and it was amazing Now for my actual review which is hard for me to say that I was underwhelmed by the food overall. This pains me to say as i had really high expectations. I found the food to be under seasoned. I usually find that pizza is salty, in this particular instance it was under. We had 3 pizzas, The Rosemary, the one with mushrooms and meat, and the margarita (which I didn't try). We also got the sauce flight, meatballs, and olives. The olives were great, I didn't try the meatballs I didn't hear anything from my party that they were good or bad either way. The sauces in the sauce flight just left me wanting a bit more flavor. I hope to try again on another visit and have a more flavorful experience.

Yelp
Went in on a Friday night after a show with my wife and a good half hour before they closed. Server sat my wife wife I went to the restroom after a couple of minutes of standing at the entrance, and was very rude the way she told her "you have to order right away because we close in 20 minutes" and made zero eye contact with her. I came back out and we had already decided but had to wait over 5 minutes to actually get her to come take our order. (odd for a place in a hurry to kick people out) Then throughout the meal she would be overly nice to me, but not give any attention to my wife, even when she was the one who placed the order. We ordered the 12" Starsky. It came out and was cut into 1/4's which is fine since it was such a small pizza. There was one whole calabrian chili placed on top, clearly sure the pizza was cut because it was not sliced at all, which meant now we had to cut it up ourselves to portion it to each slice. Very awkward and left the flavors unbalanced since we had to do it with a butter knife. The pizza itself was ok. The dough was good, but far from a NY style as a lot of people have stated, it was easy to floppy. A slice from a 12" pizza shouldn't lose it's form and want everything to slide right off of it. Even folded in half was still no support for the toppings. All in all, it's decent pizza, but overpriced and far too bougie that is overly concerned with presentation and not NYC style pizza. Based on the neighborhood it's in, this tracks that their demographic looked to over hype things and compare them to things they've obviously never tried.

Yelp
First visit to Pizza Baby will not be our last. Pizza, management and service were outstanding. All fresh and homemade products prepared to perfection make for the best pizza experience ever. We ventured out of our box and tried the "The Big Cheese" ricotta chz, mozzarella, tomatoes imported from Italy and fresh roasted garlic. The best! Also tried the Rosemary and Margarita pie both were five star. Hope to return this week.

Yelp
Thin, crispy base crust with a slightly pillowy outer crust...GIMME ANY DAY!!! I'm loving both their dough and creative pies!! This restaurant comes from the owners of Flour Shop, the scratch made pasta restaurant that is in Park Rd Shopping Center! The bubble letters of the logo give me major throw back/nostalgic vibes, which I absolutely love. Anyone else feel that way??! A must get The Rosemary: pistachio pesto, shaved red onion, hot honey, and pecorino on an 18" pie Next visit, I have both the Starsky (with meat and Calabrian chili) and the Blanco (garlic cream, sausage, and roasted rapini) on my radar to try. Space wise: there's a large patio, as well as an indoor bar and indoor dining room with a view of your pizzas being made! Reservations can be made on Open Table and to-go orders can be made through Toast. Did you know: Pizza Baby (West) will open a second location in Elizabeth, referred to as Pizza Baby (East), in January of 2024?! Follow @bigtastebestplace on Instagram for more

Yelp
First time here and I ordered the buratta and pepperoni pizza. It was very good but I am gluten free and they have no gluten free options on the menu. Most Italian places do so that was a first but the food was still good!

Marshal C.

Yelp
They have a lot going for them but a few things to left perfect. First off, plenty of parking and seating both indoor and out. The booth seats are slats of wood spaced out so that they are absolutely not comfortable. I'd recommend pillows or something to make them more comfortable. Cutlery used feels very cheap and reminds me of what a high school cafeteria may use. Last opportunity would be the cocktails. I had two separate cocktails and they tasted like something you would get from a family reunion when they are being made in bulk. Quality of the cocktail could be dramatically improved. The WINS are the service, the flavor of the pizza and crust had wonderful flavors... (despite the crust being so thin and flimsy that we were forced to eat the pizza with a fork and knife because it was too floppy and juicy to pick up). I think a wood burning oven would add a massive following to this pizza place! I'm very excited to see how Pizza Baby will evolve with feedback to hopefully become a well established pizza place on the West Side of Charlotte. We haven't had much luck with pizza places on the west side over the last 3 years. Check out Pizza Baby, certainly worth a visit!!

Yelp
Love it here! Went for an early dinner Friday night and was super pleased. Very friendly service and tasty food. We shared the blanco pizza and stuffed mushrooms. I tried the baby spritz drink bev, it was the one thing I wasn't crazy about. It's a nice spot where you can see the pizza being made. That's a neat little touch. Plenty of space but they sure did get busy by the time we were leaving. Can't wait to go back. Glad to have a decent pizza place in the neighborhood.

Sal R.

Yelp
This was our first time here. My wife wanted to come here for Mother's Day. It has a fun atmosphere, great pizza, incredible bread. The burrata appetizer was phenomenal as was the cheese bread. I got to meet the owner Steve. He's an authentic Italian. Be sure to say hello to him and tell him Sal says hello.

elliot g.

Yelp
I had the Big cheese pizza. replacing ricotta with mushrooms. My mistake. I didn't know it was white sauce pizza. I should've stuck to my rule to go with cheese pizza before trying toppings at a new restaurant. Overall, it was pretty good was crispy. The mushrooms could've been chopped smaller. I feel that the reheat didn't have as much flavor, but the crust remain crispy. Evan was great for pickup service. The dinin area was open with lots for seating indoors and outdoors. However the waiting area or aisle positioned five chairs in front of where the servicer walk.

Nisha K.

Yelp
We were looking forward to trying this place out but the pizza didn't hit the spot and wasn't worth it to us. Our pizzas were almost half crust- way too much bread. I noticed a lot of other customers taking off the crust- seemed like a big waste of a $20 personal sized pizza.

Katie P.

Yelp
We had a wonderful visit to Pizza Baby! We were greeted by one of the owners, who was extremely friendly. Our server recommended the burrata to start, the rosemary pizza, and we ended up getting an additional Starsky pizza. Everything was absolutely delicious! We had also intended to order the meatballs, but they were out, so our server brought over some delicious focaccia to enjoy with our burrata. It was a hit. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and great food with great friends - would love to go back!

Yelp
Maybe I came on a bad day, because the other reviews definitely do not reflect my food experience at Pizza Baby. A rundown of what we ordered : El Diablo Someone sort of Manhattan drink (don't remember name) Little Gem Salad Kids Pizza 18" Starsky Let me start by saying the drinks were great and the ambience, service, and views of the city were amazing as well! It was a great start... The salad was super underwhelming, almost like a Caesar but wasn't. There was also a hair in my salad. Not a reason for the stars because things happen. It started going downhill at the kids pizza, which was essentially breadstick type dough with sauce and a little cheese. It was so tough (almost burnt) that we couldn't even eat it let alone my kid. I don't understand why places can't just make a mini round pizza for the kids. Our Starsky took a bit of time to come out but we ended up boxing it up as soon as it came out and leaving. Once we got home we opened the pizza and were insanely disappointed. It almost seemed like a cheese pizza was precooked, they added toppings and a little more cheese and put it back in the oven. The pizza was also tough and the crust nearly inedible. You can see in the picture that some cheese looks as if it has sat and cooled and there are white spots throughout sitting on top of fresh cheese. I could be wrong. Maybe it was a bad day, and im open to giving them another try based off of everyone else's reviews but this visit just did not do it for me.

Alysse L.

Yelp
We had our baby shower here and the owners (a special nod to Steven) couldn't have been any more accommodating! Despite being their first event, you wouldn't have ever guessed it based on the food, service and drinks that they had prepared for our group of just under 40 people. They really rose to the occasion and I'm so happy we were able to use a local, small business with AMAZING food to celebrate our little girl. Side note: Balloons, cake and decor were from outside vendors which Pizza Baby so graciously let us use to make the space ours for the celebration... but don't let that fool you! The ambience and food of this place is already great to start with. We're just extra with how we celebrate. For the event we ordered their more classic pizzas to accommodate everyone, but my personal favorite is the Rosemary. You really can't go wrong though with what you order here!

Aaron R.

Yelp
Excellent pizza. We had the margherita (plus olives & prosciutto), it was excellent. The sauce was delicious, and crust was perfect. The staff were very friendly, we'll be back!

A L.

Yelp
Loved the pizza. I think the cocktails could be a little better as well as kind of slow service if you sit outside. The restaurant inside is really cute.

Andrew C.

Yelp
A new pizza spot just opened in the Wesley Heights Neighborhood of Charlotte - and it holds a lot of promise! The space is super cute, and reminds me of something I'd find in California. It's industrial, yet light, bright, and airy. It's pretty much exactly what I want a neighborhood pizza joint to be. But let's talk if the food is worth the hype! We started with a bread service of Filone and a Roman-style that team is experimenting with. Both fantastic and served with a delicious olive oil for dipping. The Crushed Cucumber salad was light, crisp, and refreshing. And I loved the sweet/savory combo of the vinaigrette. The Burrata was extraordinarily creamy atop a bright, nutty pesto. It's a must order. The Little Gem salad was fine, but I was expecting there to be more to it. More pecorino. More breadcrumbs. More dressing. Honestly I wanted it to be a version of the one from Jon & Vinny's . The Prosciutto was a classic, nice and tender meat with ripe melon, and the light mint flavor in the creme fraiche was the perfect compliment. The meatballs were solid. Pork and beef. Nice and tender, with an almost sausage like flavor. Now the Pizza! The dough had excellent flavor, a decent crispness, and was very fluffy. The bake was a little light for me on the bottom. I'd love to see them push the cook time by another 60-90 seconds to further caramelize the underside. Now the toppings! We ordered two pizzas. The Rosemary Pizza was my favorite. All the flavors came together, resulting in a sweet yet savory pizza. I'll definitely order it again! The Farmer Pizza had more of a savory umami flavor. Earthy mushrooms, salty pancetta, and naturally sweet corn. A bit more traditional than the Rosemary, but still very unique. We were too full to try dessert, but the team makes a house-made soft serve that looks pretty delicious; and you can add a shot of amaro to it! Now if only we can add a shot coffee and a lady finger to make the ultimate affogato. All in all though, a great start and I'm really looking forward to seeing how Pizza Baby evolves. Yelp
Pizza delightful made by the crust. Will be my go to for pizza when in charlotte. Service and ambience were terrific as well.

M W.

Yelp
Been here 3 times now and the food has been consistently good! Had the Morty sandwich today, it's a must try!!! Also not pictured here is the arugula salad! It's so light and refreshing. In our previous experience, we've tasted the Big Cheese, Margaritas and Mother. You can't go wrong!

Shane C.

Yelp
Delightfully chewy pizza - the way it's meant to be with a slight char from the scorching hot ovens. They've mastered the pizza making concept and we get to benefit from it. The pizzas are huge. Four adults spilt the large pie and struggled to finish it. Many flavors are delicious but our favorite is Rosemary. The honey on top really rockets this pie to the next level.

Madison C.

Yelp
Best meatballs I've ever had from a restaurant. Sauce was delicious and the meatballs melt in your mouth. I wish there were more in the serving. The pizza was incredible. Delicious sauce and the crust was great. We added the sausage and pepperoni. Authentic and incredible food. Little pricey but more than worth it.

Chris M.

Yelp
Like others have stated the crust is pretty good here and not floppy. Other than that the pizza was solid. Salad wasn't bad, but certainly didn't wow us. The space seemed trendy and enjoyed eating here. Would certainly come back for more pizza.

Hunter G.

Yelp
First of all, Kayleigh was fantastic. Answered all the questions we had about the menu and didn't give a bad recommendation. The bacon wrapped dates are a must. The Rosemary pizza + sausage was on point. Gem salad was perfectly dressed. I can't wait to come back and try other pizzas and sandwiches.

Dave C.

Yelp
First timers tonight. I want to leave a nice review but felt the place was a mess. The pizza was good - we added a side of hot honey and marinara, the vibe and the music was solid (EDM music); however, service was slow and extremely disorganized. You didn't know who was staff and who was a customer other staff wearing mostly black. No uniform or T-shirt to know they worked there. At one point, one of the cooks had the side door propped open while smoking outside. Who's managing this place?? It was just odd. Pizza Baby has potential - however, I feel like they need one of those Bar Rescue shows to come in and show them how to efficiently run a restaurant. Didn't seem the servers had sections - we had no one wait on us for the first 15 mins then had several servers wonder over and ask if anyone was helping us. Pizza took 40 mins or so - and the place was not packed. Hope they get someone in to tighten the ship soon.

Tatiana S.

Yelp
Had a pleasant experience here even my toddler enjoyed it my only complaint was I wish my pizza dough was done a little more in the middle it was soggy & I didn't taste any hot honey that was listed to be on the pizza but very good quality ingredients here

Alexander H.

Yelp
Went here with my wife and baby. Baby was fascinated by the light fixtures which made dining a little easier. He also seemingly enjoyed the burrata, pizza, meatballs and roast beef. Pizza is the star here, with a New York style slice. Crisp with distinctive flavor development in the dough from the fermentation. A relatively low grease and oil pizza doesn't sit heavy like others in town.

Aaron L.

Yelp
They were doing a special for the superbowl today for Calabrian chili lime wings, and maaan that really stole the show. Those wings are incredibly good! Big recommend if they still have them. Service was excellent very friendly folks here, and the music that was played throughout actually made my wife and I stay an additional hour or so just to hang out. Loved it! Big recommend.

sophia z.

Yelp
The best American style Pizza in town!! And I can't resist that mortadella sandwich. Our weekly To-Go is always easy and accurate. Ready to try the second location in Elizabeth for the Roman style pizza!

Braedon N.

Yelp
Tremendous! The appetizers were out of this world. The bartender Kayleigh took great care of us and whipped up some A1 liquor drinks. The pizza was top notch and had a very unique yet great flavor profile. Would highly recommend trying this place out! Great view of the city as well. Temperature outside was perfect! They get it all right!

Trinh L.

Yelp
My second outing here at this cool joint. I really wanted to give a a 4-5 star. Upon walking in...you'll notice the high ceilings, skyline window views, and minimalistic decor made the place feel vibrant with light. My first dining experience is the same as the first. The service staff aren't trained and I'm not expecting French side table service. It's a pizza restaurant. We ordered the mix olive appetizer and arugula salad with the Starky pizza. All items was served at once which is a bit challenging considering the two top table is on the small scale. The second dining experience, I had to ask for tea refills, no one told me they ran out of sausage for the Starky pizza and it took a while to be served. The food and ambience get a 5 star. Now, if the owners-managers spend more time to train their staff that would be an amazing dining experience. My bill the second outing for a salad, one soda, 18 inch pizza and 12 inch with water was $65, not cheap. I noticed the many patrons' water and adult beverages were low. Train your staff to be more attentive and you could have higher averages per guest = higher tips. A win-win for all.

Yelp
Writing this on behalf of my 10 year old son. We were in Charlotte for the weekend and pizza just sounded good. My husband found this place, we made a reservation and what a good choice it was! Gorgeous restaurant for starters. Friendly attentive staff. And my son, 3 days later, keeps saying it's the best pizza he's ever had in his life. Have you met a 10 year old boy? Pizza is life. This is high praise. That said, he's not wrong. The pizza was absolutely fantastic. Tasty dough, good sauce and fun combinations.

Jim F.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing owners and staff and great vibe! I typically don't do posts, but this is such a gem, feel compelled. Do yourself a favor and check this place out -Jim

Sam R.

Yelp
O-M-G. This place wins the award for this side of town.... not only was our party of 6 greeted quickly and treated like we were the only patrons (we weren't btw), but the food was worth every stinkin' penny. The bread with the apps and sandwiches were fresh - the meatballs perfectly cooked and that burrata.... ohhhhhhhhhhhhh that burrata is what cheesy dreams are made of. The young lady that waited on us was a rockstar, personable, offering suggestions, apologetic and accountable for things that weren't necessarily hers to "own" - what a pleasant surprise. We were attending an event across the street, but we easily could've declared residency in here for awhile with plenty of cocktails/brews to occupy our evening. We really look forward to returning and rest assured, we WILL be back. The pizza is perfectly cooked with crunchy exterior and softness that only comes when it's freshly cooked and handspun. Don't hesitate if you're on the fence. This place is worth it.

John H.

Yelp
Cool vibe and fantastic pizza. Service was lacking a little but I will definitely be back for that Baby pie!

Paige D.

Yelp
I have not found one pizza place in charlotte where the crust doesn't flop when you pick it up. pizza baby has the best combination of amazing pizza and crust that is crispy and crunching where you can eat a slice with one hand. It's the best pizza around, nothing compares to it. Go get you the traditional "mother" pizza with a resident culture Italian Pilsner and you will only find yourself smiling and having a great meal. We've sat outside twice now with our kids and it's such a great spot! Will continue to keep coming back! Highly recommend, excited to try the other delicious sounding pizzas they offer and eventually some soft serve.

Jim M.

Yelp
I was so hoping for a better experience than what I had on my first visit to Pizza Baby. But honestly, it was mostly a disappointment. Two diners, we arrived at 8:45PM for a reservation and were seated promptly. Nice host, who was even happy to accommodate my request not to be sat in front of the doorway. Nice interior with a lively sound level, and Pizza pies on tables everywhere. We decided to order the meatball appetizer and a 12" pepperoni, sausage mushroom pizza (I always order this at a new pizzeria, because if you can't make a pepperoni pizza then why are you in the business). The Meatballs came first, and they were an execution mess! Having two huge meatballs served on top of a 2-3" thick piece of bread, with two thinner slices of bread as well? Well the bread was so thick that it soaked up all of the tomato sauce for the meatballs, so to get any of the sauce flavor you had to try and cut through this soggy piece of bread with a very tough crust. Basically I would rather they just put the meatballs on the plate covered them with sauce, and gave me the two side pieces of bread provided. Rating - Meh. But hey, it's called Pizza baby not meatballs baby, so we wait for the pizza, and we wait, and we wait, until finally one of us orders a bourbon on the rocks because we are waiting so long. Drink arrives, and it looks like they used one of those crushed ice machines from Sonic for the ice in the drink. When did Rocks ever equate to crushed ice in any cocktail bar? No ice cubes? Rating - poor Finally the pizza arrives - very well done, but just shy of black. Still, there is a hint of burnt to the taste. The crispness of the underside was nice, but the crust was inedible. Rating - Meh Server was great, although he made no attempt to acknowledge the amount of time it was taking for the kitchen, but still he was very polite and personable. Rating - saved the experience We left somewhat disappointed, as living in the fourth ward this would have been a great option for a local pizzeria. I will say that I saw a lot of good looking pies on other tables, so I may give it one more try. I just noticed that the owner only replies to 5 star reviews, so I suspect he will not acknowledge this as well. Hopefully, it helps him to with his business to improve quality and consistency.

Yelp
overrated and over priced. great ambiance and service but for the price we paid for 3 salty meatballs, childrens pizza was the bread they were serving with sauce on it and a spinkle of cheese. it's was a mess. won't be going back with my pizza loving fam.

Yelp
The pizza was good but for the price I expected more. Also, the wedge salad (Little Gem) was good; however, for $16, we got one quarter of a head of lettuce. That's ridiculous. I understand food costs are high but it's iceberg lettuce for goodness sakes.

Yelp
This new pizza restaurant is a Charlotte gem! From the charming staff, contemporary but comfortable setting and the amazing food--creating a warm hug of a dining experience. This is pizza and apps at your nonna's kitchen table. The fresh and inventive dishes, Farmer's pizza (mushroom crema, corn and pancetta) to the burratta mozz with pistachio pesto app finished with a fresh green olive oil out of Sicily. My new go to place!

Yelp
The pizza was excellent. We had the garlic white pizza. One of the best crust I've had in North Carolina so far. Service was great as well as the ambiance.

Yelp
Recently, we threw a baby shower at Pizza Baby and we could not have been more pleased with our experience. From the beginning, Steven and his staff were attentive and super accommodating, which was appreciated because my sister in-law and I were planning this baby shower from out of state. Steven and Kayleigh helped us plan the menu, and figure out logistics - all with a smile. The ambiance at Pizza Baby is open, light and hip without being cold. We were able to arrive early to put the finishing touches before our guests arrived, but there wasn't too much to do because the space is so inviting. The food is delicious! Being from California, I have high standards when it comes to produce. The salads were as delicious as they were beautiful and the thin crust pizza was a big hit. Whether you're coming to dine with friends or looking to host an event, I highly recommend that you check out Pizza Baby!

Yelp
I'd heard a lot about this pizza spot and decided to try it out recently. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the hype. First, let me say my Little Gem salad was delicious, but the portion looked nothing like the picture posted on the online menu. Given the size, it's hard for me to say it was worth $12. I also ordered what I thought was a cheese pizza, The Mother. The sauce and cheese that I did taste had good flavor, but what I got was mostly breadsticks as the crust seemingly made up 30% of the slice and there wasn't much cheese on the pizza. And to my disappointment after getting home to start digging into the pie, every slice except for two had a huge air bubble with a charred spot on the crust. So I really didn't have a good experience with the pizza. I did not dine in, but the restaurant looked cool and they have a nicely appointed outdoor seating area plus there's plenty of free parking. I'm not going to write them off completely because there's definitely potential here, but I can't say that I enjoyed it this time.

Yelp
The food is delicious, the beverage options curated and the service is wonderful. Thankful to have NYC style pizza in Charlotte!

Yelp
First off, I'm a harsh pizza critic. I have been to hundreds of pizzerias around the world. I have to say, this place is one of the best. I'm not a local, so I will definitely miss this place. I always have my pizzas to be well done. That extra minute in the oven really makes a difference. We also ordered the burrata dish, which was amazing. (I would add a drizzle of oil on the burrata). We didn't order any pasta dishes, but did see two get delivered to a table near us, and it looked very promising. Shout out goes out to our server Sophie S. She was very sweet and made our experience better. The owner came by to check on us. One of the nicest guys! Wants to listen to customers about their likes and dislikes. A standup guy! The place is fairly new. Just go!

Yelp
They nailed it. Crispy bottom and crust, tasty sauce, right amount of cheese. Well done!

Yelp
I had been really looking forward to visiting Pizza Baby and finally had an opportunity to on a Wednesday evening. We got the "big cheese" and the "rosemary" 12" pizzas which were a great size for two people. The pizzas were good, however, we waited close to 45 minutes for the one to come out, and 30 minutes for the second one to come out. Perhaps today was an odd slow service day, but for a Wednesday, especially and with a reservation, we expected a significantly better experience.
