Pizza by Design

Like a "Subway" for Pizza. You tell them what you want on it and they make it and bring it to you. They have original, thin, Gluten Free and Cauliflower Crusts. This won't be our last time here.

They absolutely made my daughter and I feel very welcomed. The gentleman was so kind and even informed us that we needed to be careful opening up the garlic dipping sauce because it likes to come out of the cup. Even though it's a little pricey it's absolutely worth it I'd go back and they need to incorporate a lactose free option. My daughter and boyfriend are both lactose intolerant. But she absolutely loves their pizza. And I'm a fan myself this was the first time I ever went.

Too many minions behind the counter. They were almost jumping over each. The pizza has potential. I like cheese, but too much cheese makes the pizza too wet and unable to fully cook in the middle. It was truly twice as much cheese as it should have been. I see why kids like this place, but Brick Oven is much Much better.

The pizza was great, but I would immediately turn around and walk out due to attitude from staff if I were anyone else. We came to Abilene for the day to do some shopping and have never been to Pizza by Design so we wanted to stop in and try it. The staff making pizza was absolutely terrible. The young girl was bothered by any questions we had and when she would turn around to the girl making the crust, she’d mumble something under her breath. When we come to Abilene next we will gladly pass on coming to this restaurant.

I had a little trouble with my order. Salad was left behind on the delivery and pizza could have been a little warmer. I ordered spicy sauce and it is just that, spicy and delicious. I'm gonna give em another chance cuz the pizza taste great. The girl that answered the phone was very apologetic and gavee options. I would still recommend this place.

I came here today for lunch. There was a line all the way to the door. I thought it would take a long time to get to eat. It was pretty quick. I had the original crust red sauce, cheese, pepperoni, ham, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, and jalapenos. It was pretty good.

While the pizza itself was only average, the attentiveness and friendliness of the young men and women working there was exceptional. They did all they could to make their customers' experience a good one, and so I felt satisfued before I'd even eaten!

There’s usually a woman working (her son is autistic like mine:) whose so joyful but today 5/7/25 at 11AM there were three younger ladies working no one smiled nor said hello like the usual woman. They all seemed miserable to be there. Then I left and realized I was charge for $12 for a usually $8 pizza, a little disappointed today in the service. I’m sure my son loved his pizza at therapy nonetheless.

Went here today for the first time. The restaurant is very open and set up much like subway but with pizzas! Uou write your name on a piece of paper and hand it to them and design away! They have multiple crusts to choose from including a gluten free option. They also had many different sauces including a spicy red sauce which i had. I also chose shredded mozzarella and asked them to go light, which they did perfectly. They have lots of toppings as well. If you don't want to design your own they have quite a few pre set options as well. After your done they toss it in the oven and serve it to you just a few short minutes later. The best part is you pay one price even if you choose every topping there is! All the pizzas are 10 inch single serve pizzas but filling. I ate half. Definitely wish we had one of these back home!

I love Pizza by Design. My husband needs to eat gluten-free so we found them originally looking for that. The GF was great (according to the hubs) and my pizza was excellent too. Great service, nice atmosphere, yummy pizza!

Haven't been here in a while. Prices have REALLY gone up, but it's still a great meal. You build your own pizza, and I really load it up! The side salad is basic, but it's still fresh and really good. Add a drink, and you've got a meal for $15. I really do like their pizza, and I'll have a couple of pieces leftover for take out. The staff is always friendly and will fix your pizza anyway your little old heart desires. Let's eat!

On the pizza scale this place hits somewhere below vagabond, but way above that time your decided to try a pizza from subway. The pricing is a bit high, but worth it when you consider the freshness and level of customization. I give the pizza a solid 6.7.

I think pretty much everybody loves Pizza By Design! Basically the personal (10" ish) pizza version of Subway... go down the line telling them what toppings you want on your pizza then they put on the conveyor belt oven and like 5 minutes later you're eating! Tons of topping choices and it's a flat rate per pizza... if you just want chicken and spicy pizza sauce, maybe regular sauce and 5 kinds of cheese, maybe 3 different meats and lots of vegetables... still the same price! The inside is always very clean with nice people and easy curbside pickup if you call in your order! Highly recommended!

Really great create-your-own pizza place! The crust was excellent and my pizza (Bianca) was yummy. My son loves his cheese pizza, too - he was practically raving about it. Would definitely recommend.

As name suggests design your own pizza by choosing as many toppings as you want..it's one size personal pie 10 in only so ordered spicy red sauce with pesto,spinach & jalapeño with fresh mozzarella..crust came out perfectly crisp & pizza tasted nice.Helping & smiling employees (nowadays very rare)...will be back to explore new flavors

One of the best gems in Abilene! A place where you design your own pizza with unlimited toppings for a super reasonable price. The pizza was super delicious and I love that the dough is homemade. We were greeted by Miss Kaylynne as we entered and she was super sweet and made me the best pizza ever. I would recommend pizza by design to anyone looking to eat a great tasting pizza!

My daughter and I have been here a couple times now. We really enjoy getting to choose our own toppings. It's a rear occasion that I can put every veggie I want on a pizza without having to worry about anyone else not liking it. The staff is friendly the place is clean and the products are fresh and tasty.

First time in and won't be my last. This pizza is the best in Abilene, and living in Austin the last 30+ years, I'm kind of a pizza snob. Ingredients really fresh, and although limited choices, they have enough to chose from to make some good pies. place is super clean, staff really friendly. My ONLY complaint, the god awful club music over the sound system. Beyoncé type crap, I never heard her, but it's what I imagine her music is like. Well, now that, it just changed to some oldie car hop music, not my choice but better than Beyoncé esq whatever. Looks like 8 beers on tap, and like 10 bottles to choose from. 4 months have passed.... EDIT: I forgot to post this the day I wrote it. Well I'm here AGAIN. So adding too this review. With photo, cause I'm fancy. Ok, today I got brave and edited my own pizza, try it, it's f'ing AMAZING, and will be all I ever get when I come here. To get this pizza, I'm going to name "#WWG1WGA", named that, because 1. It's just cool. And 2. It will make curious people, get online, and investigate what the hashtag means. And seriously, order this, you won't be let down. Order a thin crust, Caprese, than you kick it up 32 notches, by adding BACON, and Italian Sausage. You wouldn't think a change so simple would be like making gold from lead, or electricity from spinning mercury, but it is! Ok, this is the end of my review, have a blessed and bad ass day! One last note, if your like me, and hate crowds, and people for the most part, don't come here after 5:00pm on a Saturday, I walked in and enjoyed my pizza in a nice quiet atmosphere, but as I'm about to walk out the door, literally 30 people have crowded through the door in the last 10 minutes. Come here on like, Wednesday around 11:30 pm, or 3:00 pm, these are safe times for those of us who don't mingle well with the sheep. EDIT AGAIN: I'm changing the name of my pizza to "The Q" it's easier out of the mouth than WWG1WGA. But still just as informative.

It's not the best pizza in Abilene, but also not the worst. If my to options weren't open, I'd eat here, but it's never my first choice

So many options including cauliflower crust ($3 extra) but worth it if you're trying to do KETO. Highly recommend. Loved it.

This is absolutely the best pizza joint in Abilene! I got to choose everything I love without sauce. Lol The staff was patient, since I'd never been there, & wasn't sure how much I could get. The combo was what we all decided on; pizza, salad, & drink. Yum!!! I'm definitely going back!

This place is one of my favs. Food is yummy and service is quick! Our favorites are the mighty meaty and Texas White.

This is one of the BEST pizza places I have ever been to!!! It's exactly like the name suggests, you get to customize your own personal pizza and it tastes amazing! It is a nice, clean restaurant and they have some amazing, hard working employees! This is now one of my favorite places to eat by myself or when I'm with friends and family. I come here all the time and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody!

Food was great and the staff was helpful. Pizzas just the right size and customized to your liking. I highly recommend, and will go back when I get back to Abilene.

We love Pizza by Design! Service is super friendly and the pizza is great! (Especially for the price!) individual/personal pizzas are large enough to share and are perfect to enjoy at home or at the restaurant. It's a fun and kid friendly atmosphere that we love going back to.

Who said eating pizza is a bad thing? This place makes eating a guilty pleasure just a pleasurable task. I finally stopped by on a Saturday night and it wasn't packed at all. It's super spacious inside and just minimalistic. The menu is located at an odd corner but you don't have to memorize what you want because all the ingredients are laid out like at Subway. It would be nice if they had the ingredients labeled or on the window so it would easier for you to access. But the people working were super nice and didn't mind repeating the ingredients when I was stumped. It's a 10 in pizza and you get to pick the crust, sauce, toppings (unlimited by the way) for $7.99. A great deal for the fresh ingredients they had to offer. They also know how to spread your toppings out evenly and not pack on too much of a specific kind. It was just right. My only complaint is the pizza kind of lacked some type of seasoning. I got mine to go but at the tables they had Sriracha, Parmesan and red pepper flakes so I think if I had those, it would have the right flavor. Because the ingredients are so fresh, there's not a lot of seasoning going on. I paired ranch with each bite and it made the pizza doable. I honestly can't complain about anything else. I got my pizza in a fairly quick amount of time. It very cheap meal for a decent sized pizza. I got two meals out of it and the next day leftovers seemed to soak in more flavor and was better the next day. I'm definitely going to stop by again to make another masterpiece. They also have certain pizzas with certain toppings if you aren't risky to make your own.

Thin crust original was over cooked to crispy not chewy like a bagel. Price for lunch is great in a major city. Ordered a thin pizza for one in our party that turned out thick. Basil was fresh but should have been misted with oil to reduce burn. It's a 3-star with promise.

Amazing pizza at a great price. At Pizza By Design, YOU get to choose what toppings you want all at a price of $7.99. You can tell your pizza is fresh because the cheese is melted to perfection and the crust is very soft. I like the laid back hip atmosphere. Highly satisfied with my visit and I'll be back for sure!

I tried both locations and really had decent experiences at both. My visits were in the evening. After first visit, I learned to get 2 on my second visit. They are roughly 12". Good size for most. Since pizza was my first job many years ago, I learned that the dough is the make or break on any pizza. That being said, my pizzas were good. Crust isn't the best and the cooking is fast so you get a ok product. Customer service is good and accommodating.

Quick, friendly service. Build your own pizza with lots of great toppings. Great beverage selection and many bottled beers as well as tap beers. Dine in or take out. Nice outdoor patio for dining, too.

Chipotle but for pizza? Sign me up. This place is so fun and different. Your own personal pizza that is actually more than I can eat by myself. I think this place is a hit and it's pretty fun to go with your friends.

I love this place! Easy fast but great quality of ingredients. It is mesmerizing to watch your pizza be made, and the anticipation is worth it. There is great seating for large groups. It might be a little to loud for a date night but the pizza would be great for a grab and go.

This review has nothing to do with their Pizza (which is pretty delicious by the way...). Went here on a Sunday at 12:15. There was a line to the door and the staff couldn't keep up. Waited about 30 min to just place my order. Avoid this place near lunchtime until they get their staffing figured out.

Really enjoyed the pizza, great concept and service, they were pretty busy, the beer was pretty pricy. Better when you don't feel rushed during meal time. Get a few different pizzas and split them between your group. That way you can do taste test, or just get your own mini pie!

Pizza is really good and at a great price. Staff is always friendly, and they have a fantastic beer selection. In the summer, I enjoy sitting outside on the patio. Nice, clean atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for families or groups as they cook fairly quickly for a pizza.

They give military discount. Great family place to eat and their pizza serving size for kids were perfect. My 5 year olds loved it.

pretty disenchanted, confusing service the first girl who started taking the order either got confused or frustrated. she stopped talking to me, mumbled to another coworker and then started to clean, ignoring me. Another girl started taking the order, and very slowly added toppings. The food was pretty good but the employees could step it up and be more efficient. Def wouldn't be coming back

The pizza was ok at best. I had pepperoni mushroom. Was cooked perfectly but didn't taste any sauce or anything. Almost zero taste.

Bad service took 35 minuets to order with 4- people in front of us and half had ordered and than they were making call in orders so we ate at different times and they had 8- people in line when they made call in orders would not go back .

So delicious! The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. I loved the options that I could choose from. Overall, one of the better pizza places in Abilene. Thank you!

My daughter and I tried this place today. The pizza is amazing! You get to pick your crust, sauce, and unlimited toppings. All the ingredients are super fresh and then cooked to perfection. We'll definitely be back for more!

Absolutely love the PBD on Hwy 351. One of our favorite group lunch spots during the work week. Been to the Catclaw location three times. The employees are very kind but ABSOLUTELY THE SLOWEST MOVING INDIVIDUALS ON THE PLANET. We just can't afford to spend that much time away from the office.

It was just OK this time. The attendant asked us three times what crust we wanted, then the cashier again asked several time what we were having. It also seems that the salamander was turned up too high as our pizzas came out burned

The subway of pizza... make it how you like it. Clean restaurant, friendly and prompt staff, and the pizza was delicious. I'll be back.

Boy O Boy!!! IF anybody says they didn't like PBD.... well, they are the ones who told PBD what to put on it! Seriously, the staff is excellent, attentive, professional. The quality of ingredients is outstanding and fresh, with your choice of crust. We love this place and the employees. You won't be disappointed.

I liked it! Personal pizza. I can get what I like. Unlimited toppings. Choice of sauce, cheese, crust, and toppings. Mine was very good. The only complaint from our party was the thin crust did not get crispy. They need a mesh tray/pan to cook the thin crust pizza on.

I've had several really great experiences with this place. But, most recently, my husband and l both got TERRIBLE food poisoning. It was a few months ago, granted, but l was really disappointed because we liked this place so much! Neither of us can bring ourselves to try it again. Worst part was that we got food poisoning the night before we had a tasting with our wedding caterer ): we couldn't reschedule, so we had to force ourselves to eat tiny bites of an amazing meal and decide what we wanted at our wedding. It was just really horrible timing for food poisoning and we felt really disappointed by our experience. Hoping we will eventually be able to try it again without worry.

My favorite pizza spot in Abilene. Its the subway of pizza ingredients look and taste fresh the crust is perfect and its made to order. Nothing negative to say abour PBD. Two thumbs up
