Pizza Connection

We were in Hazel Park staying in an Airbnb while visiting family. We didn't have groceries yet and were looking for someone to deliver since our baby was asleep. Pizza Connection delivered us a delicious cheese pizza within about 45 minutes and we were so thankful. (It was after 10pm on a Saturday night) Highly recommend! Cheers!

This establishment has been in business for over 50 years. I grew up eating this pizza. The owners and staff are very friendly and great people. The service is excellent. I got the BBQ chicken pizza would definitely recommend trying it. The original pepperoni pizza is really good too! I usally get mine cooked in the old oven a few min extra and it's by far one of the best pizzas I have had. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you are a pizza lover!

We loved the food so much and the employees were more than polite. My kids said this is their new pizza spot! Lol 🍕 😍 and we are a family of 8 and the good portions and fair prices is perfect for a family like us on a budget! Thank you!! They especially loved the cakes they were delicious and adorable! 🖤

My experience began w/ their website telling me that I was out of delivery range despite only being 1.2 miles away. I called, however, b/c I heard good things about this place. My side salad was lackluster as they don’t bother to cut the one small slice of tomato & zucchini they give. I tried to spruce it up by having them add black olives, but the olives almost tasted like they were about to ferment. The pizza was okay Detroit style, but the sauce was sweet & I absolutely cannot stamd that. What got me, though, was one particular bite literally tasted like dirt. I assume this was due to not properly washing their veggies. The order arrived w/ complementary bread sticks: which is cool, but I have yet to try them.

Mediocre pizza. I ordered 1 slice and I got a reheated piece from who knows when. Once I had them add parmasan and red pepper seasoning it became average at best. I'd still rate them higher if not for the fact that they for some reason treated me like I was inferior. Literally wouldn't let me touch the shaker to add my own seasoning 😂. I was made to feel very much like I didn't belong and I definitely will NOT be coming back!

Really good but expect to pay a lot more than any other pizza spot. Until they lower the prices, i’d go somewhere else like nicks pizza

This establishment definitely lives up to its 4.8 star review. Probably one of the best deep dishes I've ever had. We had meat lovers and I love that the majority of ingredients are tucked under the cheese! The picture here is in the car pulled over to eat 😂 We couldn't even wait till we got home. Keep it up guys, you rock! 👊

The New York Style Pizza is legit, this is one of the best I've had here in Michigan, crispy pepperoni, thin, flavorful. I got mine well done and they did not disappoint. 5/5 Would Recommend!

I really like there pizza . The place is small so you can only order to go. But the service is so nice. When you walk in the cooks and everybody usually turns to speak . The food is always cooked as you order and taste so fresh and good. My son loves pizza every Friday so he gets the meat lovers and I get a Greek salad. Super good. No complaints here just wish they had a sit down area. But for pizza to go you can't go wrong ordering here.

I don't really go for here for pizza but the Romans subs are the best I've ever had. They were amazing. It's about an hour drive from where I live now but at least once a month I make the trip just for that sub.

I had a discount code for online orders, so I decided to place my pickup order on-line. The online ordering thing was awful; the code did not work, and the requested tip DEFAULTS to 20%. I think this is a bit much on a Pickup order. But worst of all, within minutes of placing the order, I was bombarded with HUNDREDS of spam emails from all around the planet. Between my regular mailbox and spam mailbox, I received just over 600 emails within 2 hours time. Food from here is ok. Nothing special; just ok. But I suggest avoiding on-line ordering at all costs. UPDATE: 2 Days after placing my order, I discovered multiple fraudulent charges on my credit card. The first fraudulent charge occurred 5 minutes after placing my order with Pizza Connection. Pizza Connection charges an extra fee when you use a credit card, but they apparently are too cheap to pay for a secure website. Now I have to go through the hassle of replacing my credit card. THANKS ALOT

the pizza was good. better than a chain anyways. but the grinder HIT. best steak grinder i've ever had. i was going to ask them to customize it but i wasn't feeling like doing anything extra with the order so i left it as is and MAN. it was so good. the ratio of everything is right. i think if i had just ordered pizza i woulda been more hype about it but honestly the grinder just stole the show. also the customer service was really really solid and they had my order done in 20 min even on a friday night. i am irritated i didn't find this place sooner .

Best grinders in Michigan hands down! Nice staff and quick food. The connection club grinder is out of this world. The combination of meats, tomato, mayo and perfectly baked bread makes the palette explode... yummmmmyyyyyy

Never had their pizza till I worked there and my goodness it's amazing. Been a long time since I worked there, but loved how clean they are! Plus the way they treat their food is awesome! That Wild Cheese bread has my heart for ever!!

Found this place kind of on a whim last week while I was just looking for something cheap. This pizza was excellent, even better than pizza I've paid more for. Everyone working there is nice, too. I will definitely be back soon.

Food was good, staff was friendly. The cheese bread was good. Nice amount of cheese. The pizza had a few bubbles in it, which is always my favorite part. We will be back for sure. Received a free pizza coupon after moving to the area. This was a great idea as we were not sure what local pizza place to try. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was being charged to use a credit card. I would have rather just seen the extra .25-.50 cents added to the menu pricing. (Not a big deal though, I understand the processing costs involved and how they can affect small businesses. Just in a pandemic, I'm not carrying cash.)

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this place! Great food and amazing people! Try the pepperoni pizza! The crust is a perfect mix of crunchy and soft, the cheese is piping hot, and the pepperoni is the real deal! You won't be dissapointed!

I'll start this off with being very disappointed in this place of business after ordering a Antipasto salad I now know not to ever order a salad from this place again which was suppose to be Fresh with the biggest chunks of iceberg lettuce and sliced soggy tomatoes , wet chunks of mozzarella cheese, odd tasting olives that most likely were frozen ..... Dear Pizza connection stop making salads its not your thing stick to Pizza.

The best cheesy bread around! Also love their pizza, price is kinda up there but it's understandable considering the times we're in right now. Worth it for sure.

Great pizza spot! I had a craving and my husband mentioned Pizza Connection. Although this isn't our neighborhood pizza joint, it was definitely worth the short drive. My husband suggested we get calzones, or as Pizza Connection calls them, "turnovers". These massive pizza baked turnovers were larger than life. No one could have prepared me for the size. My 8 yr old daughter ordered one as well and she ate hers for three days. What I like most about Pizza Connection is watching the pizza makers make your food. That's right, no huge wall blocking your view. They even speak to you, can you believe it. The customer service was impeccable. From our greeting to the casual conversation to our exit we received nothing but smiles. Oh, and the food, delicious. I simply LOVE anchovies and it's hard for me to get them at some pizza spots. Not a problem here at Pizza Connection. They accommodated my disturbed palette. My turnover had anchovies, mushrooms and black olives in it. Devoured it in two days. I highly recommend Pizza Connection and will be back

This is deli pizza and it's bad. I would say this is the worst pizza I've had in the last 5 years. It's so bland, thick and greasy. Get with the times and update and upgrade your food. I suggest calling in someone with a culinary background paying them for a day and have them create you a sauce that has flavor and what cheeses you should use

A short review because I have only had their food once. Pepperoni pizza is aok, not the best not the worst. The pasta is pretty good too, not the best not the worst. This is a good place if you do not feel like cooking at home and just want to get a pizza and pasta for carryout. No Thumb Up or Down

I always give my business to the mom and pop stores whenever possible. Finding places like this, is the reason I do. One wouldn't think looking at this place from the outside, that such great food is being created inside. Don't judge a book saying comes into play here. The pizza is amazing and the crust is perfect. Not too thick, but just thick enough to make it chewy with a nice crunch. The tomato and feta cheese is my favorite. Not only is the food excellent, the prices are equally excellent and a great value. Unfortunately, this place is closed on Sundays so I had to order pizza from another local place (review to come) for a Walking Dead premier get together. This is when I realized how good Pizza Connection's food and prices are. I highly recommend this place if you live in this area. Even if you are not, the drive will be well worth it.

I worked in a pizza place for years and make my own pizza at home. This place is better than anything ive ever had before. Highly recommended .

I'm giving them the five stars I promised because they have a new special that I love -- on a single pizza. Monday and Tuesday, you can get a medium one topping for $5.99! For a single guy like me, it's perfect. So it's been about two years since my last review. I moved to the east side for a while, ate a lot of Jets and occasional Little Caesars, and recently moved back to the area. I am so glad to live near Pizza Connection again. After not living nearby for a while and going without, it was a real treat to come back to. Skip the chain and come here! Your taste buds will thank you. It may cost a little more, but the quality is better and you're supporting a local small business.

Ordered pick up last week and got two small specialty pizzas. Total was like $17!!! The pizzas were great. Very flavorful and you could tell the crust is homemade. An all around good pizza. Way better than all the commercial places. This is the real deal. Only negative was that the cheese on one of them was not all the way cooked through. But it really didn't take anything away from the overall. I will definitely be back again! The Hawaiian and the southern style bbq chicken are on point. Looking forward to trying some other stuff next time.

My family and I have been ordering Pizza Connection for years and haven't ever been disappointed. Their specialty pizzas, in particular the Super 8 and BBQ Chicken Pizza, are delicious and always hot. The subs are great too. The staff is always the friendliest and courteous to everyone in the community. This place has been around for years and I hope for years to come.

Decent pizza. My favourite shop was closed so I gave it a go here. The staff was very down to earth and polite and helpful as I was ordering while driving and couldn't review the menu. Much appreciated! Pizza was doughier (is that a word?) than I expected for a thin crust but was pretty good. I'll come again.

This is one of the best pizza places around. The BBQ chicken pizza is our favorite. They are local and fresh. We also enjoyed the Inferno and it was a good spicy.

Tried this place cause I had a free medium, 1 topping pizza coupon. Seemed legit. I wanted a pizza w/ chicken and onions w/ BBQ instead of marinara. Ordered some of the Wild cheesy bread, add pineapple. Requested 2 sides of ranch. First issue was the girl on the phone had absolutely 0 general phone skills. Don't know if she was new or what but she kept me on the phone a while. Then she tells me my total. $11 and some change. I go is that after the coupon? She said yes. I'm like $11 for one extra topping and some cheese bread w/ ranch?! My pizza barely had any toppings on it. Everything tasted good but way overpriced.

Pizza Connection has been my family's go to for pizza my entire life. They have an excellent staff and are always timely and friendly. Highly recommend

I found this place one night while I was looking for a really good cheap deep dish pizza. I've been here a few times now and each time I'm very impressed. I didn't expect much from the little pizza shop but it's much better than I expected. It's located right off John R, and the parking lot is small but very functional and but man does it fill up fast. I usually tend to take that as a good sign. As someone who sticks to what they know, I'm always weary when it comes to trying a new place, especially for something as important as pizza, but this place is doing it right. They're pizza is not only good but it's not expensive at all. A small cheese (6 pieces) will cost you less than $7, and two small cheese pizzas, their "double deal", will cost you less than $11! Right! That's crazy right? Granted each topping is about $2, but the deal also comes with huge fluffy breadsticks topped with Parmesan and sauce. During my last visit, I ended up getting two small deep dish pizzas, one with just extra cheese, and the other with Italian sausage, extra cheese and banana peppers, both and breadsticks for like $17. And this isn't just ok cheap pizza. This is really REALLY good cheap pizza! I love this style of pizza too. It's more of a toppings on the bottom and the sauce on top/exposed style, rather than your typical sauce, cheese and toppings. And soooooo cheesy! The crust and sauce are both really tasty as well. The crust has a nice crunch to it that's an absolute must, it even has it the next day fresh out of the fridge ;) I love how everything is just so right about this pizza, especially the price!

Lived in Arizona the last half of my life and we have few Jets locations out there that we used and abused. Fast forward to today and I moved to Mad Heights. My girls family been eating here for YEARS and it has become our new home for round and square pizza! Try the Deluxe Pizza & The Flamethrower!! Side note: we haven't had the turnovers despite hearing great things so that's probably next haha

The Pizza Connection is a great little place to get take out from. The pizza is good, but the Wild Cheesy Bread is what they do best. It's a LOVE connection!

Such a huge fan of this place! Next to Green Lantern (which is still our go to for square pizza), I choose Pizza connection! They are very generous with their toppings and the crust is nice and crispy, chewy and doughy all at the same time. We always get the large square extra crispy half & half. DF gets the pepperoni and black olives and red onions. I like the vegetarian as there's 7 diff types of veggies! I mean, cauliflower & broccoli? That's unheard of at other places!!! Don't forget the Wild Cheesy bread. While I still think Green Lantern will always win in Cheesy bread, this is pretty good. Ask for extra garlic butter too! I love that the staff is so nice and you can see them making it in front of you. Even if it's not 5/5, just coming for their service and quality is worth it!

The best pizza turnovers in the world. I live on the far edge of their delivery area, and it's always always Hot and great also the greatest customer service anywhere. Can not say enough great things about this place. Just wonderful

I do not enjoy giving negative reviews, so I don't give them lightly. But, I had quite a negative experience here. I ordered pizza with a group of friends a couple weeks ago and it was just a disaster. The vegan pizza my friend ordered had regular cheese all over it, another pizza was melded with the pizza box (and not able to be separated from it), and the other pizzas/items were just gross. The worst part of the experience was not the pizzas, but the way that the management reacted when we called to speak to them. We wanted to bring the pizzas up there and exchange them for what we ordered, but the manager yelled at my friend. She wasn't trashing the place or anything (we all know that it happens once in a while), but we just wanted an exchange. We didn't even mention a refund. But the manager instead had the poor driver (who was so nice during everything), drive back out to us and give us our money back! They wouldn't switch out our pizzas! The whole experience was crazy to me. I have never had that kind of experience anywhere that I've ordered food from. We only ordered from here because our normal place (Nick's Pizza) wasn't open yet. Obviously I won't order from here again and I would strongly advise anyone I know against it. Between the poor quality and the customer service- not worth it.

One name...DEAN One message delivered clearly...VEGANS NOT WELCOME HERE The manager was so beyond rude the delivery guy apologized for him and have me the owners name so I could reach out and let him know that his manager is not interested in customer service nor he is interested in return business: On Saturday me and four other people were at my new place painting and decided to get lunch and thought we would try this place...worst mistake ever! My brother who is a vegan still loves pizza just can not have cheese on it, so I ordered him a medium vegan veggie pizza. I ordered myself a small cheese, my father choose a medium with mushroom and pepperoni and my two friends order cheese bread, salad and a bbq chicken pizza. The pizza I had requested to be vegan was loaded with cheese, my cheese pizza literally was coated in cardboard. I called to speak with manager in hopes of getting a replacement order but instead I was YELLED at by manager! Telling me it was my fault and that vegans shouldn't order pizza. What the hell is wrong with you? Seriously you have someone that wants to give you their money to obtain your product and because a person chooses not to eat anything from an animal they aren't welcome?!?!? That is not only disrespectful it's discrimination! After being yelled at and blamed I was told to never order from this place again by the manager! Remind you I called to solely get a replacement order...not to be yelled at or have my brother discriminated against! I demanded a refund for the two pizzas. The delivery driver was super polite and explained to me that his manager is like that all the time and that he personally heard his manager yell at me and apologized on the behalf of the business. I honestly like giving places second chances to win back customers but this is unforgivable as long as that manager is there I see a lot of business going else where.

I ordered the rib dinner and 2 pepperoni pizzas. The fries were good, but the ribs were the worst I have ever had. Gray, stringy, dry, but greasy meat, crappy sauce. Nobody in the family would eat more than a bite. We threw the $13 dinner in the garbage. The pizza was passable, nothing I would return for, a little better than Little Caesar's. Yuck! In this area, there are much better pizzas. Loui's, Zino's, Green Lantern, NoNo's, Cloverleaf are in a different league, and not far from here. Nice people, mediocre food.

Best Pizza in Michigan. I been coming here since I was 5 years old and now my kids eat here and they always ask for Pizza Connection when we tell them we're getting pizza. Just want the owner to know how much we appreciate the great food here and Thankyou for keeping it the same.

the pizza's not bad, but the portions are small and it's a bit pricey. also, in the past, i've noticed that they never seem to have slices ready, so that you can just grab one and go. possibly, if it's not lunch, they don't have them at all. that's not unusual, though, for pizza places. it's the closest place for me, but i'm not likely to go back often. i was there the other day. they were pleasant enough, but they charged me -- without telling me -- for use of my credit card. if i'd known, then i likely would have just paid cash. at least, they should tell one in advance. when i called to ask what the charge was on my bill, the counter lady was pretty rude. she said that they started charging a year ago (?), and thought by now everyone knew. that's such b.s. only regulars would know, maybe. if that's how you want your business to grow, wow. the problem is solved by the simple expedient of putting a little sign on the counter, or just mentioning it to people. it wasn't even a dollar, but it's cost them my business. i thought about contesting the charge on my credit card bill, but it aint worth the time. we'll call it their tip. enjoy. thanks

Pizza Connection is our go-to pizza place. After trying a bunch of other places and not having luck or consistency (Jet's, I'm talking about you), we decided to try PC, which is a favorite of my wife's family. I was really excited when I found out that you can get the spicy Italian sausage from the "Flamethrower" pizza as a regular topping, because the regular stuff can be boring. On top of that, they slice it rather than crumble (I'm not sure how I feel about that), which is different. PC always has consistently good pies with crisp crusts and has the right amount of sauce for my better half. There are a few dozen pizza places that are closer and we drive here to get our pies, that's a real compliment. Viva la Pizza Connection!

Actually homemade pizza. The sauce is great, the cheese is great, toppings are great! The price is definitely good for the quality of food you are served. This place cares about their food and you can feel the passion in every bite! I would totally recommend this place to everyone around or anyone just passing by looking for a good place to eat.

For a good portion of my life we ordered pizza every Friday from Pizza Connection. Delicious pizza and bread sticks. Delicious salad. LOVE the pizza turnovers. Everything is good! We still order from them when we decide to have pizza. I highly recommend them. Great pizza for great prices!

This is pizza is vey good! The best part is the amazing dough. I could have eaten just a cheese pizza and enjoyed. One of the best flavored crust and pizza I've ever had. The toppings were fresh, however I'm not a big fan when some of the items are diced, such as the ham, green pepper and onion. And I love fresh mushrooms, and these were canned and not many were on the pizza. This is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. But even so, it was still really good pizza. And the sauce is very flavorful. Will definitely go back again. A great find!!!

The pizza was great. I got the deep dish. It was similar to a combination of jets and buddies. The only slight critique is the crust could have been a little crustier... It was a bit on the doughy side but still great. Highly recommend. Also - huge sides of sauce for only a buck.

Really good pizza! Our fave! They sent us a welcome to the neighborhood coupon for a free pizza and we loved the pizza and the staff. Yummy Hawaiian pizza with flavored crust!! Their wings with honey bbq sauce is good too! Especially dunked in ranch. And their bread is yum too! Really wish they were open Sundays and before 3p weekdays. I think they'd get a lot more business!

This pizza is amazing. Do not pass up the wild cheesy bread, it's a huge vice for me! Hands down the best cheesy bread that I've ever had. Square pizzas are to die for!

I really wish I was eating pizza right now instead of actively losing weight because this is the perfect summer night, last minute cheese pizza from heaven. It just tastes real. And hot. And perfect. It's the best local pizza I've found next to Hippie's in Clawson.

OMG I can't believe this hasn't been reviewed yet!! This is an HP-lifer review! I've been eating pizza here ever since I can remember!! Pizza is great, pizza turnovers are great, ribs are great, potatoes are meh. They also have subs, salads, cheese sticks, wings, grinders, and Chicago deep dish that is fucking DEEP DISH... it's great, and really really heavy!! Prices are standard pizza joint prices. This place has been around for a long time and there is a reason for that!! If it means anything to you guys, I have their number programmed in my cell phone. /Awesome!!

Pizza Connection is my standard place for take out pizza. The food, service, and price are all very good. Their delivery is prompt, their cheese is real, and their ingredients are fresh. The Hawaiian pizza is my absolute favorite, but I've never had a bad pie from them. My only (tiny) gripe: upgrade and get the cheesy "wild" breaksticks, instead of the regular ones. The regular ones are bland.
