Pizza Dada - Review - Loop - Chicago - The Infatuation

"With this food stall inside of Sterling Food Hall in the Loop, the team behind Table, Donkey and Stick has entered the pizza game. They have full NY-style pies and slices with toppings like vodka sauce and pepperoni or margherita, as well as grandma slices. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - John Ringor

Google
I'm visiting Chicago for work, and I stopped into this spot while doing a happy hour with my coworkers. The NY-style pizza was fantastic. It had this crispiness to the crust and a slight charred flavor that only added to the complexity. The pepperoni and sausage on top were well-flavored, and the pizza was, importantly, clean. It was a lot less greasy than other slices I've had in the state, and I was appreciative of that because it felt cleaner and it sat lighter in my stomach. It was refreshing; it was soul-warming, and it was delicious.

Started out great, but has quickly gone down hill. They can't keep up with a lunch rush. Pizza was very dry and poorly covered by the cheese. Ran out of pepperoni at Noon! Too pricey for poor quality. It's great if u can get a well prepared slice, but too much a crap shoot on how well prepared it is day by day.

Google
Very legit pizza slices. Had the tartufo, great crust and flavor (did wish it had something tangy, like pickles onions or a citrusy element, but it was still excellent) and supreme grandma. The grandma was super crunchy, outstanding tomato sauce, lots going on. That slice is a winner. Definitely recommended.

I lived in NYC for 15 years and now in chicago for the past 13 years. So i know genuine NYC pizza and I know chicago’s pizza scene. Pizza Dada is not only authentic, but delicious, and one of the very best slices available in town. I highly recommend!

Google
Legit NY-style pizza -- best I've had here in Chicago. Very chewy crust, as it was meant to have, with good quality ingredients. They use Ezzo pepperoni, which is a non-negotiable.

Google
These pies scratch the itch for a born and raised New Yorker tuned Chicagoan. No need to argue or compare, but know that if "grabbing a slice" is part of your food vocabulary and you've ever had the "it's the water in manhattan" converation, then these slices will make you smile. No idea what I'm talking about? Doesn't matter. This is hand made food that comes from the hearts of the people who make it.

Google
Chicago style pizza is great, but sometimes you want a big NY slice. This is it! They have all the classics but if you want to try something a little different, get the vodka sauce with sesame crust. SO GOOD!

Google
Big fan of TDS so I ordered a couple of pies for the office (Vodka Roni and Hot Soppressata + Honey). I thought both were incredibly good, and colleagues were raving about how good they were. The crust in particular was just ridiculous—both texture and taste.

Yelp
As a disclaimer, I feel that this type of pizza and deep dish are in totally separate categories. It's like apples and oranges - the two cannot be compared. With that said, the pizza here was one of the best slices I've had in well over a year. It was perfect; I have no notes, and I would happily order again. I decided to go simple this time with a slice of Margherita pizza. All around perfection! The crust was thin and very crispy without feeling like a tortilla chip. The cheese and the tomato were bold, flavorful, and fresh. The top contained fresh, hand-torn basil for maximum aroma, and a drizzle of oil. It was hot, and it was delicious! The cost of about five bucks a slice is pretty reasonable too, considering how expensive everything else is. The service was very polite too! Final verdict: I can remember the first time I had a slice from Regina Pizzeria in Massachusetts. That first-bite feeling...Mmm! The same thing happened here, something that is, believe it or not, quite rare with me.

Yelp
Located in the Sterling Food Hall, you get whole pies or by-the-slice at pizzA daDa - We ordered: +a slice of the Tartufo - with pesto, roasted mushrooms, ricotta, and truffle oil +a slide of Cheese - with grande mozzarella and tomato sauce +and, a slide of the Grandma Slice - with sausage and pepperoni Unfortunately, we weren't fans of the crust, as it was a little dried out; also, the cheese and the toppings could have been distributed more appropriately. They have some tables, but they do fill up quickly. Service was totally fine! Metered or garage parking available in the area. +dried-out crusts +located in the Sterling Food Hall +metered or garage parking available

Yelp
I am an NY-style pizza addict and have tried it all in Chicago; there are *maybe* three places in this city that I would put into the top tier for NY-style, and Pizza Dada is one of them. Visually it's stunning - exactly what you imagine an NY slice should look like when you close your eyes. Thin, equal parts crisp and chew, maillard perfection on top and beautiful leopard spotting underneath. And the taste matches the visual - the instant I took that first bite, I tasted New York. If you're after an excellent NY slice in Chicago, Pizza Dada belongs at the top of the list.

Yelp
The pizza was good, and the salad was good, but as I watched the man make the pizzas, he wasn't wearing gloves--just using his bare hands. He was also ringing people up with the same hands, and that right there killed it for me.

Yelp
Amazing Loop spot with NY style slice that is supreme. It's located in the Sterling (fka National) Food Hall. The Sterling website is not tied to their website as of this post but you can order from them directly via their website but going in person is the move. I had the Vodkaroni and Caesar Salad Slice (which is salad on a cheese/sesame crust). AND THAT CRUST! Perfect golden crust and the sesame adds an interesting texture. Don't sleep on Pizza Dada.

Yelp
I'm a pizza guy and I think about pizza every day of my life. Recently moved back to Chicago after many years in NYC, and while I do love Chicago thin crust and deep dish, I've been seriously missing a decent NY slice which is really hard to find around here. The slices here are very solid, like even if it were in NYC I would give it a good rating and be very happy if it were my neighborhood spot. Had a pepperoni fresh from the oven and it was quite nice. Very thin crust, spotted undercarriage, good crisp, cuppy pepperoni. Then a margherita on a reheat which was also great, even crispier. Extra hard cheese and oil post bake, a pungent fresh garlic in there too, and a good crack on the fold. Can't believe I haven't heard about this place in all my searching but seems they are new. If NY style is your thing, you gotta go here. It's surely one of the best NY pizza in Chicago. I'll be back often.

Yelp
Best pizza in Chicago. Both in terms of deep dish, tavern, and NY slice this is the best. Great vibes and pizzaiolos who love the work that they do. Great prices and really interesting and good specials - both straightforward good ingredients and inventive styles

Yelp
Very impressed by their white pizza. High quality mozzarella with a white sauce that is very garlic forward, which is a good thing. Cooked well with a nice char to the bottom and topped with ricotta, fresh basil, and freshly shaved parmesan. Much, much better than the white pizza from the previous occupant.

Yelp
Seriously fun and delicious NY style slices. Vodka-Roni is amazing! Last stall away from the street. Totally worth a visit.
