Had a great dinner here tonight. We got slices of traditional cheese and a grandmas slice (which good luck ever finding one of those in Florida. Sicilian sure but grandmas?!), and Caesar salads. I know everyone always describes themselves with “I’m a pizza snob”, “I’m from New York”, etc etc, and I fill those descriptions too but seriously. These guys are doing pizza right. This is the best pizza I’ve had in Jacksonville and it’s not even close. Thin, well-cooked pizzas, flavorful sauce, just enough oil to leave a good shine on your plate, and all the right toppings on the table too. Jamal from the kitchen came out to check on us and chat for a bit, and it was a pleasure getting to do so. I thought he was the owner, but nope! Just a dude that cares about what he’s putting out there and should be proud of it. This is going to be my new pizza spot, I hope you give it a try and make it yours too. Or maybe don’t, that way there’s more pizza for me?

Revised July 25: Stopped by for lunch today. We enjoyed this place past time, but this time we were LOVED it! The slices/pizza keeps getting better and better, and it was awesome to see so many people in for lunch on a weekday. Service was fast, and everyone was very nice. I cannot stress how exciting it is to have another amazing food spot downtown! Original post: We happened across this place today when they had their soft opening. Got several slices of pizza (both for dine in and to go). Was very happy with the food we got, especially for the price. Staff were all very friendly and we had a minimal wait time. We’re excited for them to do their full menu launch next week. As a downtown resident, it’s very exciting to see new restaurants opening up, and Pizza Dynamo is a welcomed and celebrated addition to what downtown has to offer!!

Cool spot! The pizza was great! Whatever the Fungi one is is amazing. Get a side of the hot honey! It's connected to Pour Taproom which has limitless drink options. I will be coming here alot.

Google
Just stopped by Pizza Dynamo and I’m officially hooked. Their pizza-by-the-slice is perfect for when you are craving something quick but delicious. The crust is that ideal balance of crispy and chewy, the sauce flavorful without being overpowering, and the topping combos are creative without trying too hard. The atmosphere is welcoming and hip…the staff incredibly friendly 🩷

We ordered the Arthur Avenue Pie along with the Cheese Bread—knowing full well we wouldn’t be able to finish it all, but we ordered it anyway. No regrets. 😄 I went straight for the cheese bread first. It looks amazing in the pictures, but somehow it tastes even better. The bread was light and crunchy at the same time—how do they even do that? Whatever the secret is, I’m grateful they’ve figured it out. The pizza? Exactly what we were hoping for. As soon as I took a bite, I looked at my husband and said, “Now this is what I wanted it to be!” From there, the rest of the meal was just us happily talking about how good everything was. Solange and her team are absolutely killing it. You can tell they’re working their tails off, and from where we sit, it shows. They’ve got something special, and if our recent visit was any indication, they’re rising to the occasion. Can’t wait to come back.

Google
2nd day open with full house and line out the door and they handled it very well. Got the spicy slice and it was delicious and thats based on a reheated slice. Very flavorful ingredients and the sourdough crust has a really nice finish and consistency while staying almost cracker thin. Pretty legit NY style finally in downtown Jax. Will definitely return for a full fresh hot pie and check out the Tap room next door.

Yelp
This place is soooo great ! Wow! I can't wait to go back already ! Pizza was amazing and delish ! For sure in my top favorite now! I love that you can just get a slice so you can get more than one ! Prices were great ! Workers were kind and service was very quick despite being very busy !I was so happy to see they were so busy on a Monday ! The vibes were so cool, fresh but retro ?! I can't wait to try out Pour, that is attached next door !

Yelp
My actual rating would be a 3.2 First off. This is not NY pizza so just stop with that. A picture of the Yankees on the wall will not convince me. I'd rather they showed some pride in Jacksonville bc for Jacksonville it's pretty good pizza. Don't love the crust but good sauce and cheese. Now the real problem, which is fixable, the service. Besides being super unenthusiastic when taking your order it took over twenty minutes to heat up a slice that was sitting on the counter behind the glass. 20 minutes. Also that would never happen in NY. Second issue; I ordered a beer at the counter bar. The young server looked like she was too young to serve but she sure had no experience to pour a beer from a tap. Think all foam. That is unacceptable. Will I go back? Maybe but I won't go out of my way for sure.

Yelp
What a great concept! A pizza joint and a pour your own alcohol combo spot. We went on the alcohol side and were able to order from a QR code which included both pizza as well as additional items. Pizza came out fairly quick. However, all the food came out at different times rather than the whole tables at the same time. I got two slices. The best one being the mushroom pizza, honestly it might've been the best slice of mushroom I've ever had. The hot honey pizza had a bit much honey. Like it was dripping off and I had to wash my hands afterwards. I would definitely go back if I was in the area and needed something quick to eat. Downtown street parking available. No charge on weekends. Place was packed on the Saturday evening we went. Fun vibes!

Yelp
Legit NY pizza. Great pies, good service, fun spot.. The recipes were brought down south from NY, this is the spot. My new go to pizza place in the city

Yelp
I did my order online because we were going to be arriving 30 minutes before they closed. It was ready as soon as I walked in. Very friendly service. I love the online ordering option. Took the pizzas next door to Pour to enjoy a few beers and conversation with them. The pizza is definitely the closest to NY style I've had in Jacksonville. Thin but not soggy crust. Tasty toppings. Will definitely be returning. I easily found street parking but it was 8:30p on a Wednesday. At busier times, just park in the Vystar garage.

Yelp
Ok so here's the skinny one the 2nd day of the soft opening. This place was slammed! The staff hustled as hard as they could to get orders out in a timely fashion unfortunately the unexpected swarm of people overwhelmed them. That said, they kept a positive attitude, rallied and continued to bring out QUALITY food. Jacksonville asked for it and now they have it. A fantastic pizza place located in the heart of downtown. We ordered 4 pies. Cheese, Margherita, Pepperoni and Arthur (sausage and pepperoni w/ ricotta). Each pie was cooked to a delicious crisp. The undercarriage was perfection. The sauce wasn't too sweet or too savory. In my opinion it had the perfect zest. Overall the slices gives the vibe of the original Patsy's on 118th in East Harlem ( IYKYK ). DEFINITELY DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE!!

Yelp
Was kind of disappointed. The pizza tasted stale. The crust was very chewy. I feel they let their slices sit out for too long. I will go back to try a freshly made pizza. But this visit wasn't it.

Yelp
We came up here to try some pizza. We got here when no one was in yet. As the only customer you would think there was a quick turn over. 30 minutes later I did not have my pizza. People that came in after us did not have their food also. Rhe kitchen is spending so much time making pizzas for the attached restaurant and bar. They forgot about their customers. If this is their business model. They will not last long.

Yelp
Pizza was fresh, crispy, and flavorful. The service was good even though they messed up my order.

Yelp
Stopped by Pizza Dynamo this weekend. They Just opened and we were excited to see what they had to offer. The interior had great retro vibes with pinball and arcade games. The wall decor was an artful display of cassettes. There was a small bar by the window that had beer, wine and some hard alcohol selections and a place to sit with TVs. We sat in the main dining area. The people that took our order and brought our food were all extremely polite and we even got a visit from the owner, telling us about his opening and making sure everything was great. It was. We have a bunch of good choices here in Jax for pizza. Still...if you're close to someone from NY, you'll always hear them yearn for a NY slice, and nothing seems to suit them when it comes to pizza. You finally have a place to bring them. Thin crispy crust, great cheese, great sauce, even the garlic knots were stellar. They sell by the slice and it was all at a very reasonable price. My only constructive comment is the need for a soda fountain for those dining in. A stellar pizza experience. I highly suggest you give Pizza Dynamo at try.

Yelp
This is the second time we went back as the first time we never got to eat cause they ran out of what we ordered and had to refund us. This time we went in optimistic and ordered a whole pie based on reviews. We ordered the vodka lasagna pie, a slice of cacio Pepe and garlic knots. So here's the run down. The cacio Pepe pie was nothing it described. Tasted just like a plain cheese slice it was crispy tho and hot. More than I can say about the whole pie. Words like vodka and lasagna evoke a certain expectation and none were met. It could have been cardboard honestly and for a 30$!pizza I would expect fresh meat to be used. It def wasn't. We barely finished a piece each. Left most on the plate and left the whole pie on the table.the garlic knots were most flavorful thing we had but they were braids not knots but did have butter and cheesy flavor with a marinara. We left after I finished my split of Prosecco. And left it all on the table. Sadly we won't give it another try. It's sad cause it def has potential but. Considering we did t eat a 1/4 of what we ordered no one asked why or if things were ok or anything. We had to ask for flatware and I could t tell you who was in charge in there if you asked.

Yelp
Tried Pizza Dynamo Wednesday evening and thought the place looked good - 4 TVs by the bar showing sports and very clean. We ordered garlic knots and a pie - garlic knots left something to be desired (we suspect they were made earlier since we came in the evening) but the pizza we received was very good. As others have mentioned, I do wish they had a soda fountain. The bottle we got was flat but when we let the staff know, they were on it and let us get a replacement (which was perfect) and brought a fresh cup of ice to the table. I have no doubt we'll be back

Yelp
I took my wife there yesterday, a Thursday night, because I'm a fan of NY Style pizza, and so is she. Plus, I have a friend who is from NY, and wanted to see if this might be worthy of his approved list. I think trying by the slice like we did would be better during the daytime where the the slices are not sitting in the case as long. They had some business last night, but we felt re-heating them hurts the texture. My Pizza Dynamo slice's crust (the "pizza bones") was just too hard, and the slice was cooling off too fast before I could finish it. The Stracciatella was cold and was cooling off the pizza as well. Plus, the Mike's Hot Honey; I couldn't taste any heat from it at all. Did they water it down? The NY Pie Slice I also got was not as hard, since I had to wait for that pie to come out of the oven to get a slice. My wife got the Fungi, and the Vodka Lasagna slices. She enjoyed the Fungi much more. She loves mushrooms, though and I don't like them. Though we know Truffle Oil is a scam. Anthony Bourdain once said "is a 'horrible' ingredient that's 'about as edible as Astroglide and made from the same stuff." But she didn't seem to mind. She loves Truffles. Overall, the slices are pretty thin crust, which I like. They had good amounts of char. I think the key is to either ask what's still in the oven and order that so you can get a fresh slice, and perhaps coming earlier in the day instead of almost 8pm like we did. Or, order a whole pie so they have to cook one. But we were just two people. The place is very spacious. There is an upper level, which I went up there just to see it. The music is much louder up there, though, and I like to be able to have a conversation with who I'm with rather than having to yell. And as others have said, they need to expand their non-alcoholic drink menu, as I don't drink alchohol. We both got bottled tea. I'll give the place another chance. Is it the best NY style Pizza I've had, probably not. Price wise, it's still pretty expensive by the slice. 4 slices and two drinks and a 15% tip ran us over $30. We could have ordered a whole pie for less. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere was decent, but there was this ongoing beeping happening near the front that no-one seemed concerned in the least about shutting off, so that was a bit annoying. But I consider the place a welcome addition to decent pizza places that aren't the trash chains.

Yelp
Very impressed with Pizza Dynamo! For starters, loved the fun vibe inside. So many types of fun and unique pizzas to choose from! They were out of fig and bacon, but luckily I had backup choices - the fungi was delicious and so was the dynamo. Delicious thin crust, tasty homemade sauce, and special dab of burrata - absolutely heavenly. They also have gelato which I wanted to try but by the time I was done with my pizza the line was too long to get back into. My only constructive feedback is 1. Have a separate line for gelato 2. Have more soda options (currently just coke or sprite out of bottles in refrigerated case). Parking is limited to the street so consider walking if you're already downtown or across the river. Price is reasonable (for 2 slices and sprite, $15) Line gets long after 11:30 so come early and get ready to have a delicious experience! I definitely plan to come back for more delicious slices and gelato

Yelp
Walked over after the rally & protest at the courthouse today. We arrived before the crowd appeared and ordered some slices, garlic knots (twists) and two Coke Zero bottles. Fun and bright inside with tables, booths, and bar seating available. I ordered a slice of Fungi Pie and it was so yummy. Growing up in NY, this slice was perfectly cooked, thin and crispy, with just the right amount of char on the bottom. The owner stopped by our table and mentioned the mushroom is surprisingly popular. I said it's a great option and my favorite topping. I love mushroom pizza, but this one took the mushrooms to an elevated level. The braised cremini mushrooms were so delicious. I would have like a bit more ricotta spread over the slice, but otherwise, it was a perfect slice. My husband enjoyed both his slices- pepperoni and Arthur Avenue. We also ordered the garlic knots, they are braided and very large. We enjoyed them both as they came and dipped in tomato sauce. I am very particular about sauce and this sauce was awesome. Love this new pizza option downtown and will definitely return soon!

Yelp
10 out of 10 pie! Exactly what I expected out of a NY style pizza. Ingredients were spot on & under carriage was thin & crispy. Going straight to the top of my list for pizza places. You'll regret not trying it sooner after you taste it. Two thumbs up! Bravo Dynamo!

Taylor Renee E.

Yelp
The service here is great! The pizza is amazing and the vibe is on point! We love this place for lunch and for dinner and drinks!

Miguel D.

Yelp
If you go with no expectations you will be fine. The pizza is ok, thin crust which is good, but it's definitely not close to NY. The slices are not that big, and at time the slices have been slightly burnt, or extra crispy. Staff is nice, but twice I had to ask for the status of my order.

Angel S.

Yelp
I must say it how I see it. The pizza was great. Easy 8/10. But unfortunately the establishment needs some basic operating principles. How is it that a pizzeria had NO drinks? No bottled or soft drinks and when I asked for water, I was told go to the bar and ask. We were a party of 6 with kids and I only stayed because I was already there. Even though pizza was good, I will not be returning.

Jeremy H.

Yelp
Coming from Chicago I'm very picky about my thin crust. (Chicago locals don't eat deep dish) and this pizza is legit. Cool spot downtown and connects inside to the new Pour Taproom.

Regina G.

Yelp
Management was not interested in addressing the issue of warming/ grilling our subs. The sub bun was too thick and cold. When asked can they heat the subs for us, we were told "no we are not going to do that ". The manager didn't come address our concerns and sent another person over to our table to speak to us. The dismissiveness of our request was just that, DISMISSED. We also ordered jerk chicken egg rolls and they were not good neither. It tasted like the oil they used was old and they just opened within the last two weeks. I would NOT recommend this restaurant. Until they/the manager can be more compassionate or at least willing to hear for himself what our issue was. Instead of addressing us he set down and had a bite to eat a few booths down from ours. Cannot speak on the ambiance because without good food or management being in order. it doesn't matter about the ambience. The best thing about our visit was the counter hostess that took our order.

Luis M.

Yelp
Pizza undercarriage was good, held its shape and perfect for folding. Liked the staff working. Will return!

Anthony B.

Yelp
If you're not going to stay open until 10 on Friday nights, please don't advertise that you do. Showed up and the doors were already locked.
