I took my wife there yesterday, a Thursday night, because I'm a fan of NY Style pizza, and so is she. Plus, I have a friend who is from NY, and wanted to see if this might be worthy of his approved list. I think trying by the slice like we did would be better during the daytime where the the slices are not sitting in the case as long. They had some business last night, but we felt re-heating them hurts the texture. My Pizza Dynamo slice's crust (the "pizza bones") was just too hard, and the slice was cooling off too fast before I could finish it. The Stracciatella was cold and was cooling off the pizza as well. Plus, the Mike's Hot Honey; I couldn't taste any heat from it at all. Did they water it down? The NY Pie Slice I also got was not as hard, since I had to wait for that pie to come out of the oven to get a slice. My wife got the Fungi, and the Vodka Lasagna slices. She enjoyed the Fungi much more. She loves mushrooms, though and I don't like them. Though we know Truffle Oil is a scam. Anthony Bourdain once said "is a 'horrible' ingredient that's 'about as edible as Astroglide and made from the same stuff." But she didn't seem to mind. She loves Truffles. Overall, the slices are pretty thin crust, which I like. They had good amounts of char. I think the key is to either ask what's still in the oven and order that so you can get a fresh slice, and perhaps coming earlier in the day instead of almost 8pm like we did. Or, order a whole pie so they have to cook one. But we were just two people. The place is very spacious. There is an upper level, which I went up there just to see it. The music is much louder up there, though, and I like to be able to have a conversation with who I'm with rather than having to yell. And as others have said, they need to expand their non-alcoholic drink menu, as I don't drink alchohol. We both got bottled tea. I'll give the place another chance. Is it the best NY style Pizza I've had, probably not. Price wise, it's still pretty expensive by the slice. 4 slices and two drinks and a 15% tip ran us over $30. We could have ordered a whole pie for less. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere was decent, but there was this ongoing beeping happening near the front that no-one seemed concerned in the least about shutting off, so that was a bit annoying. But I consider the place a welcome addition to decent pizza places that aren't the trash chains.
