I was in the area for a straight forward shooting weekend, alongside a group of what I would call 'cosmopolitan US eminence' - at my invitation. Staying at a convenient place nearby with a friend recently released from prison, I fancied a local takeaway option - enter Pizza Express.
Now, going to a Pizza Express in Woking is considered an UNUSUAL thing for me to do. A VERY unusual thing for me to do. I had a number of people counsel me in either direction; to go, or not to go. However, feeling that the decision not to go would essentially be the ''chicken's way out', I showed leadership and made a dinner party reservation for 8-10 people.
Upon entry, the restaurant was as busy as a railway station - there were people going in and out all the time. I had no idea where the bar was and didn't venture upstairs, but I did not regret eating there at all. Service was impeccable, with staff walking around everywhere and also catering to a peculiar medical condition of mine at the time.
Now, the photo I have attached is a photo, of a photo, of a photo. I have no recollection of the photograph being taken at Pizza Express, but that is what I would describe as me. I can't be sure as to whether or not that is my hand around her waist, however, it cannot be proven whether or not the photo is a fake. Public displays of affection is not something that I tend to do.
In summary, this visit to Pizza Express in Woking was indeed a memorable one - so much so that if someone reminds me of it in 20 years' time, I'm sure to say 'oh yes, I remember that'.
