"The Serafina team has rebranded their Serafina Express location in Greenwich Village as Pizza Funhouse, a bright red and yellow restaurant. You can grab a slice to-go, or sit down for a whole pie and a meatball parm." - will hartman

Summary: Good on its own, doesn’t cut it in NYC I’m a chef so I can’t comment with much expertise in regards to the decor, but I think it looks really dang cool. Although when I think of a funhouse I think of funky mirrors. Seems like a missed opportunity. The Pizza: Wait time: about 4 min. I appreciated the server asking if I wanted a char on my slice or just a reheat, some folks are all about the char, I usually am, but for a review slice I like to try and keep it basic as possible. Serving temp: piping hot, it makes a difference. I like hot food Sauce: tasty, well seasoned. You can tell there’s garlic and herbs in it. Well done. Cheese: Disappointing. With the really nice sauce it’s a shame the cheese has no flavor, def a lower end mozzarella. It was very nicely melted, though. Crust: Not great, under the sauce it felt a little thick. There’s good texture on the top and bottom of the crust, but in between you get hints of wet, undercooked dough. This is especially noticeable on the edge crust. More salt in the dough, a little thinner and maybe use a better olive oil and I think you can make something really special. Pepperoni: Way too thin, I loved how crispy they were, but without enough of the pepperoni fat rendering out into the cheese the slice just doesn’t scream pepperoni. It tastes like a cheese slice with pepperoni on it, instead of a pepperoni slice. Not bad for pizza, but in New York you gotta step it up. There is potential for a great slice here, but it needs more refinement.

Cute place, located @ corner of 8th St & Sixth Ave in the Village. Pizza is terrible however — I’ve had frozen that was more edible. Do yourself a favor and walk the few blocks down to Joe’s for an amazing slice rather than wasting your time and money at Pizza (not so fun) Funhouse.

Plain slice is $2.75 or rather $2.99 with tax. It's dollar slice pizza (well actually worse than most so I'd say school cafeteria slice) for $3. What's not to dislike whether it's the big dumb sign or the terrible pizza. Avoid like the plague.

Walking past and stopped in on a whim for a slice of pepperoni, then ended up getting a slice of sausage and pepper as well. Very good. Nice atmosphere and price, too.

Google
Not the place to find the perfect plain cheese NY slice, but I was pretty happy with the meat lovers and ricotta slices. Good vibes.

The place is beautiful! The decor is vibrant and fun! The service was great! The pizza is good.

The place is clean with a great vibe and decour. Plenty of seating and it's at the location of the former Grey's Papaya. Honestly their slices are just okay and there are so many better choices nearby. It's kinda like pizza that you might find at the mall or airport. It certainly doesn't help that it is a tiny slice. Probably half the size of your standard NYC 🍕 slice. I don't think it will last as it's typically empty despite its prominent location.

Not great slice ($3) but not too expensive either. $5 beers/milkshakes aren't bad for the area.

Yelp
Ugh, really, really bad. The outside of this place is a bit of an eye sore but looked fun so we tried it for dinner on a Friday night, which was a mistake. First red flag, there was not a soul inside at 6 pm. It's a fast casual pizza joint but also has salads and pasta on the menu. The pizza behind the counter looked decent so we ordered one plain slide and one vodka slice, and my husband got a chocolate milkshake. WOW. Where to start. The vodka slice has literally no flavor. The cheese on both was super gummy and tasted lowest quality middle school cheese, the crust is not crispy at all it almost tastes not fully cooked. Plus the slices were weirdly small for a NYC slice. The biggest insult of all was the "chocolate milkshake." I kid you not it was nesquik powder blended with WATER. Absolutely no milk was present in that shake. It was actually inedible. Do not come here. I have a feeling it won't last long.

Yelp
Unsure what's worse; the obnoxious sign or the pizza... probably the pizza. Anyway, this is from the Serafina people, and they should stick with their other things rather than ruining pizza. Walked in here curious/slightly hungry. Got a plain, which is $2.75 or $2.99 with tax. Music is a tad loud, and they have ample seating. They for some reason have ketchup and hot sauce bottles on the tables. The pizza took a little bit to be ready but wasn't super hot. It was oddly served in a solo paper container like you'd see in a school or something and smelled oddly sweet. The cheese was gummy, the crust was doughy with no crisp outside of the bad crust, and the marinara sauce was very sweet, tasting more of sugar than tomato. I didn't finish and went to culture for a FroYo sample to rinse the terrible taste out of my mouth. The pizza here tastes worse than the $1 to $2 slices like 2 Bros or Fresh and costs 2/3 times more. Honestly, bottom 5 worst slices in the city, if not a lot lower. It's notable for that, at least. 0.1

Yelp
June 8 2024. This is my first and last visit. I tried a plain slice, a meatball slice and a Brooklyn Lager beer. Pizza looked good but was nearly tasteless. Maybe a fail for the sauce (or lack of?) The crust is OK. ordinary, slightly floppy. not thin. Browned.. There are other much better choices in walking distance in West Village. Too bad. It is a good location and seating.

Yelp
Pizza was mediocre but the front staff was great and welcoming. The idea for this pizza shop is great. The decor was perfect for school aged patrons. However ,for grown folk, it's not great to eat your slice with coco melon in the background lol.

Yelp
The place is clean with a great vibe and decour and they serve their slices on actual ceramic plates but that's about it. Plenty of seating and it's at the location of the former Grey's Papaya. Honestly their slices are just okay and there are so many better choices nearby. It's kinda like pizza that you might find at the mall or airport. It certainly doesn't help that it is a tiny slice. Probably half the size of your standard NYC slice. I don't think it will last.

Yelp
TERRIBLE!!!! How do you sell hotdogs with ice cold toppings and cold buns??? The customer service also sucks!!! The servers digging in their hair no nets nor gloves!! Thumbs down and it took seven minutes?? How?

Yelp
The outside isn't very appealing to the eye but I tried it anyway. I tried the vodka slice, which seems like it could have been good but it tasted microwaved. I know it wasn't but it tasted like that. Even though there was available seating what I found strange was 2 people associated with the place taking up a 2 top and the other taking up an entire booth. I find that weird at 3pm when the place is pretty busy. Ill give it another shot but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yelp
Tacky looking restaurant with a loud, hideous sign! Dollar type slices sold at Serafina prices. The last thing Greenwich Village needs is a gimmicky restaurant!

Drakeinmycar ..

Yelp
So apparently Serafina group closed their old joint and opened this place? tf? it's just really not a good slice at all. greasy, heavy, falls apart like a mf. I really really want to like it tho
