Pizza My Heart

Pizza My Heart served up really delicious pizza with fresh ingredients and a crispy, satisfying crust—definitely worth the hype. The only downside was the long wait time, but it was well worth it in the end. A perfect way to wrap up a day on the boardwalk with a slice in hand and ocean views nearby!

Most recommended place on any Santa Cruz video. Definitely liked the juicy and thin crust pizzas tried a few different types. The pepperoni was a bit salty but overall good spot to try pizza in downtown Santa Cruz

The pizza is really good, I know I gave it 4 stars but I have had better pizza but it is really good. Cooked well and looks amazing. The service was nice i asked for a medium pie and then when he went to ring it up said hold on the large pie is on sale and a couple bucks cheaper. So he upgraded me to a large, which I really appreciate and will go back just for this fact. We got a salad with ranch which also was delicious. The pie came out quickly and tasted fresh also. The place was pretty clean to. Even though there was some dirty tables there was someone cleaning them quickly so the new crowd could sit and not have a dirty table. It was nice to see someone cleaning as soon as there were tables coming available . The place is pretty big too so plenty of room to find a nice table or booth. The lady that brought out the pie was also very nice. He had a great meal and I was definitely happy trying this place for my first time moving from Texas. I love pizza a lot so 4 stars is really good from my point of view. Also they are open late which is awesome!

Enjoyed a great meal at this spot. In town for work and was craving Pizza and so we came here. Each got a few slices and they were delicious. Staff was friendly and nice.

I was told this place was a Santa Cruz tradition, so it was a must. Buy a PMH t-shirt and that earns you a free slice; how can you pass that up?!?! A thin crust pizza lovers dream! Toppings so heavy you literally need two hands to take a bite. Homemade dipping sauces - the pesto ranch was my fave 😋 I was out and about for a week in SC and visited PMH 3 times 🍕❤️

One of the best pizza I ate in the west coast. The service was nice; We order a whole 14 inch pizza and single slices. The whole pizza took 20 minutes as we were told and they even gave my daughter a free fountain drink. My whole family loved it too and decided to pass by it again the next day for shirts and more pizza 🍕

What an incredible pizza place!! The customer service, quality, and value for your dollar absolutely exceeded my expectations with the utmost excellence! The decor and atmosphere were awesome!! We went to two locations recently, Santa Cruz, and Monterey! They were both exceptional!!

Unexpectedly grabbed a late night slice of pizza on my way home from my evening stroll. To my surprise, I didn’t even have enough money in my bank account to cover the slice of pizza.. it’s not a big deal. I spent a little more than I should’ve this month. I’m getting paid tomorrow but I almost had to walk home without the slice of pizza I already got excited about. He didn’t make a scene and let me walk away feeling like a total loser. I wasn’t sure much but he quickly removed the tip I left which everybody absolutely should anytime you get served by a human. Cannot believe it when people hit the zero button and I’m like are you kidding me? Anyways, I was gonna order the slice of pepperoni and they didn’t have any in stock so I had two toppings on my pizza and he covered the difference for me and let me walk out feeling like I can afford the slice of pizza in my hand even though I can’t. Thank you, Kevin six out of five stars , management material.

I'm a sucker for thin slice pizza and this hit the spot! They had a lot of slices available to choose from. I appreciate the many options available. There was indoor seating and outdoor seating but not enough tables to accommodate our big group so we just all sat separately.

Like the pizzas, but they were served lukewarm. Guy helping was nice, but minimalist when putting slices in the oven to be heated, lol. Nice large space great for groups and college students.

Great spot to grab a quick slice. Start is friendly and fast and place has a nice vibe. $8 gets you a T-shirt and a slice. New York style crispy bottom and tasted pretty fresh. Other pizza topics looked fresh and not soggy because of being frozen. Overall a nice spot on the downtown strip and I'll stop in again.

In the context of Santa Cruz, this place is a CLASSIC! If you're a student or just in the area, the pizzamyheart here is a must-try, and i've had almost all of their pizzas since the school events I'm in order weekly. Get it whole or by the slice, and they reheat the slice for you! Service was super friendly and there's plenty of seating inside, and so much history on the walls! NOW.... out of context, there is no pizza place in santa cruz that impresses me, not after coming from socal and the vast options we have. I'm honestly disappointed by everything they have (i want more creativity, exploration of flavors, diversity of pizza crusts), but again, in the context of santa cruz, it's a classic pizza spot!

Went Halloween night.. the line was out the door all night.. the oven was kickin', and this pizza was the way I remember it. Hot, crispy, and oiled up like a WWF wrestler.. sorry lol, but that's why I like it.. the pepperoni pizza is so good. Apparently, the big sur is too, but it's just not the pepperoni. The tall dude behind the counter was also sporting my pork chops beard. When the call is made, we ride at dawn!

We stopped in before heading home from our weekend getaway, and the timing was perfect no line! They had a great selection of pizza by the slice, and we all went with the pesto. It was super yummy, and of course, I grabbed some ranch for dipping. The crust was hands down my favorite part perfectly seasoned and delicious. I also snagged a Pizza My Heart t-shirt with my slice, which was a fun little bonus. From what I hear they are usually sold out. The employees seemed a bit on autopilot not very friendly or engaged but it didn't ruin our pizza vibe. We grabbed a corner seat and enjoyed our pizza.

When in town visiting Santa Cruz we knew we had to try Pizza My Heart. But I wasn't expecting such a cool ambiance and even better value w/ their t-shirt and free pizza slice deal! I also had no idea they have vegan options, so to see two different flavors was an unexpected but welcome surprise. We went on a Wednesday when there's also a farmer's market downtown, so it got pretty busy but staff were very helpful in managing the crowds and directing people to whichever of the two lines (whole pizza, or just slices) they needed to be in. My partner ordered a slice of The Big Sur, and I got a slice of the vegan version of the same. The staff let us know right away we'd have a wait of about 7 and 15 minutes for each of our pizzas, respectively, which we were happy to wait for. There's plenty of seating inside, and very cool decor to look at and enjoy while we waited. Have I had better tasting vegan pizza? Yes, but it was way more than what I paid for this slice, and the pizza wasn't bad at all by any means! It was also a very good size that was nice and filling. $8/9 for a shirt and a slice of pizza? I don't think you can find much better of a deal than that!

Friendly staff, great pizza, yummy cider & great house made ranch. Prices were good and you get a big slice for around $7. Go here if you're in Santa Cruz for a chill time and good pizza!

1 slice is definitely enough for a person, but I love the shirt deal (free slice with the purchase of a shirt, depending on the design it's $8-9). I don't particularly like their pepperoni, it feels rather flavorless to me? But the crust is wonderful, crispy with a nice chew! There isn't exactly enough structural integrity to eat your pizza taco style, but that's probably because the pizza is huge. Didn't feel blown away by the Big Sur (3/5? But note, I'm not a garlic lover, didn't taste much regardless), but I love love love their pesto cheese. The sausage and pepperoni also isn't too bad, just I didn't taste much again? Their sauces are free however, and slathering that on top is also pretty delicious! I really liked the pesto ranch. Indoor decor is so fun, in a world of fading themed dining, I really appreciated the random hanging sharks. And service is pretty quick! You might have to wait 10 minutes for a pizza if it's busy, but staff always works their hardest to get you a slice as fast as possible.

Ordered pickup on a late Saturday night. The line was out the door and we had to wait an extra 30 min past pickup time for our pizza to come out. We didn't realize it was ours, but it sat on the pickup counter for 10min before we asked for an update and the staff gave it to us. They apologized and were kind but it was very disorganized. The pizza tasted great though!

We've been coming to this Pizza My Heart location since we moved to Santa Cruz and never had any issues before tonight. We placed a pick up order for a large Big Sur and when we arrived we gave our name and they handed us one of two pizzas that were on the rack. We figured all was well and took said pizza home only to open it and find the wrong pizza (a plain cheese) and the wrong name on the sticker. We took that pizza back to get OUR pizza and when we asked the manager if we could keep the pizza we accidentally took she told us no, we told her we didn't want them to just throw it away or let it go to waste and she said "No, we won't throw it out we actually will list it for resale on our app." I was shocked that she openly admitted to doing something so blatantly illegal and a risk to public safety! I am currently pregnant and was disgusted to find they are so slack with their food safety policies.....probably won't be returning.

This is always a must have for us when visiting Santa Cruz. The pizzas are delicious! Plenty of seating here. They have bathrooms inside. Service is great, no issues there. You place your order and get it fairly quickly. TVs in all areas for entertainment.

Stopped here for a quick lunch and we got 4 different slices. It's pretty good thin sliced pizza. I got the Basil Almond Pesto and liked it. My parents also ordered the 6 piece chicken wing set and they loved it, particularly the seasoning. The tshirt deal they have here is amazing though! If you buy an $8 tshirt, you can get a free slice (a slice is $5-6). We ended up buying 2 shirts (they have 4 design options - all would make a nice present for an out of state visitor!). The cashier was very friendly and helpful with our requests as well. Solid pizza place on a nice and busy street!

Always a fave been coming here since I was a child, I'm 33. Dough can be hit or miss. I always ask to heat mine "extra hot" so it gets a little crispier. I generally don't mind a lil burnt crust but sometimes it can be a little too much. But still pretty good and they are great about replacement if not satisfied. It doesn't always stand up with picking it up, depending on the toppings/crust. Their salads are sooo good and well priced!! And the dressings you can just take and they are also delicious. This location is vast inside and I really like the seating situation, and how there is lots out of the way of the busy line. But there are tvs all over the dining area for sports Staff is always very nice and helpful. Service is quick. They have beers on tap

Cutest pizza shop ever, i'm enamored. Their signature meat pizza is delicious and very worth $8, or however much it is. I especially loved the offer of a free slice with any t shirt purchase!! Got a super cute souvenir tshirt and dinner for like $12 (idr). Would be back when i'm in town! Loved the relaxed vibes and tiny booths, would make a charming date (not a fancy or show stopping one)

My siblings and I always get a slice of their Manresa pizza with their ranch and it's always amazing! It's our go to pizza place in Santa Cruz! The service is fast and the vibes are beachy (as it should be). There's photos of celebrities and other people surfing Santa Cruz beaches (I think). The only warning I'd share is if you're scared of sharks there are 2 big *fake* ones hanging from the ceiling!

The main attraction of pizza my heart is their tshirt+slice combo! You order at the front with the cashier, and the slice comes out hot. I don't feel like the booths are the cleanest, as to be expected from a fast food joint. I've definitely had better pizza, but this place serves decent and creative enough slices!

$8 for a shirt and a slice. Me and my bf loves this place for the tshirt! Every pizza we tried was so delicious!!! I forgot all the names but honestly any one you picked would be delicious. When we went here the line was soooo long!!! -1 star for the lack of cleaning in this restaurant. Especially since we tip for services it's a little disappointing there was no cleaning of tables or helping with trash. Nonetheless we had a good time here because it was also a great place for people watching.

If you are a tourist or local and want a cheap fresh and tasty snack; You have to check out this restaurant! It is one of the coolest and most decorated spaces you'll ever see! wall to wall! I always get a slice at the Santa Cruz pizza my heart because the fresh menu is a consistent experience all throughout! (I absolutely love this restaurant and recommend looking out for the endless summer pizza! This summer) I also wanna give a shout out to the loyal hard working staff team and members! Like Mario and Clerk! The best of managers and friends to all the locals! P.S-This pizza my heart location carried me through all my undergrad and post grad years at UCSC, and I can say that Ive spent about more than six thousand dollars in the span of 6 years living here lol (That's about 1K a year) I'm happy it was my very first pizza my heart! This place was not just good but great! It was open after we were done visiting the Boardwalk, which was great for us who love really great tasting pizza. I enjoyed a Vegan Mt. Diablo pizza. They used the same vegan products I use already and trust. My family ordered pepperoni and we enjoyed watching real hand tossed pizza. The historic surfing memorabilia, made the average wait time feel like just moment as it was so interesting and enjoyable. The service was great, kind and a pleasure to speak to. Thank you!

I'd have to try this place again to make a second review on but the food was good for the start of it. My last couple of bites of pizza was a bit on the more doughy side. However the topping had more than I could ask for and was well placed all over the pizza. Inside was clean with a classic diner and modern mix to it. The staff are extremely friendly and answered all questions that we asked on top of checking on us as we ate!

Cool spot! This spot is pretty large, plenty of seating, and lots of cool stuff to walk around. The whole pizza is on the pricier side ($30+). However the slices are huge and it really fills you up. We got the $8 pizza + a free shirt, which is probably more of a tourist trap, but makes it fun for a group! Matching T-shirts woo! Bacon Chicken (8/10) - Super delicious! Glad that I wasn't paying just to buy a shirt. - UNLIMITED RANCH- it's free by the counter, so just walk up confidently and grab a container. Bacon Chicken + Ranch is a match made in heaven.

Left my house in boulder creek and ordered a pizza downtown. By the time I got there it was ready and piping hot. Tasted great and made the kids happy. The place is a larger location with seating bathrooms that were clean and a huge pizza bar. It's a cool college town hang out spot.

Went here with a group and it was great! They have a lot of choices and also have beer. You order at a counter and pick your food up at another counter. This place would be great for a party or just a casual dinner

Without knowing we ended up at what apparently is one of the best pizza spots in Santa Cruz. Love, the fact that there's vegetarian and vegan options . As first timers, they were extremely patient with us ordering six different slices of pizza. Definitely recommend ! We also ordered some wings with buffalo sauce and my picky teenager absolutely love them!! Very spacious with a lot of seating ! Friendly workers. Definitely a must try when visiting Santa Cruz .

OMG! I heard that Pizza my heart started in Santa Cruz but I had no idea how big this location was!! We came in the backside where there's a parking lot and I thought that was the front but it was the dining area and the front was around the other side of the building And there was a line out the door!! Granted it was also 5:30 PM! Lol they have pizza by the slice as well as full pizzas you could buy and luckily for me they even had the vegan pizza by the slice, so I was ecstatic!! Sadly, as my family and I got to the front, they ran out of the vegan pizza, so we had to wait 15 minutes to get a couple of slices of the Mount Diablo/vegan pizza, but it was well worth it!! I was able to get a apple cider beer and relax in the great air conditioning and watch the boxing match as we waited. I also liked all their paraphernalia around the restaurant! Kind of reminded me of TGI Fridays. There was a lot more surfer information and magazine covers at this particular location but that's kind of the community. I will definitely be back again!! Plus there's a great ice cream and cookie place down the street!! Check out my review.

I'd give this place 3.5, the pizza was pretty good but nothing special to report back. The staff was very friendly and having the slices already cooked it was quick food service. The restaurant is really cool, hanging sharks on the ceiling, cool beachy stickers and pictures on the walls. There is indoor & outdoor dining which is awesome. Maybe next time we will order a whole pizza and add on some other food items

We each wanted 2 pieces, so we opted for a full pizza. Left with half the pizza not eaten. It was so good but one piece is plenty. . The sausage was super flavorful. My kids loved the sauce, I did too, I could have dunked the crust in it. The soda machine was one of the fun ones where you can pick flavors like cherry vanilla root beer, so the kids loved it. The only thing I thought was overpriced was my $10 beer. It wasn't in a glass cup and it wasn't cold enough.

Very popular on a Friday night, this mediocre pizza place serves reheated slices fast and whole pies cheap. You can taste the cost savings in the paper thin pepperoni and canned tomato sauce. Vegan pizza was likely good when fresh but a dried out piece of flotsam when ordered by the slice. Undercooked undercarriage and sticky tables completed the experience. Great place for high schoolers to rub shoulders with UC freshmen, otherwise probably worth skipping.

As the clock ticked toked they were running out of time as each restraint on dooor dash began to close.. Scrolling through finally try came across Pizza my Heart that was calling their name. We ended up ordering in delivery but when the order arrived the looks of excitement quickly turned into expressions of confusion. We ordered one Ham and pineapple pizza (dont get me started...Pineapple Belongs on Pizza) we ended up receiving one slice of Hawaiian style pizza and a mushrooom infested slice and a cookie thingy. We quickly had to act fast as we were running out of time like how Cinderella had to leave when the clock strikes 12. We quickly called Pizza my Heart with thin the very last minutes to closing time. We were able to address the Door Dash mistake by going to the location (lucky only a five minute drive} where they were able to replace our order free of charge. The staff was really friendly and understanding. FINALLY the hungry Housewives eagerly opened the box. We were so famished that the pizza looked glorious and glowed as if it was the chosen one. As always Pizza My Heart never ever never disappoints with its thin crust, flavorful red sauce with a whole bunch of stretchy cheese. {Wow, im going to order myself a pizza after i finish writing this}If your stomach is feeling a little empty, if your heart is broken Pizza my Heart will met your feelings like cheese away . Great place for a slice and a free shirt. Sizes can be limited in the newer styles. The pizza slice is generous in size. Seating is plentiful and the surfing pictures adorn nearly all the walls. Service is just a tad variable. Mostly teens and some are distracted. If you put in some kindness it's reflected back. It's been years since my last visit and the place still hums along well. Will repeat in the future.

Plenty of seating when we went around 9 pm on a Sunday. Booths, regular tables, and a big table for larger parties of 8-10 by the entrance. There are some vegan pizza options for those who are vegan/dietary restrictions. We got our pizza in about 5-10 minutes. Pizza was hot and yummy. Not soggy and easy to lift and eat. Food Still yum Service Very customer friendly Ambiance N/a -It was delivery So it's hard to hear clearly when on the phone but what I loved almost equal to there decades of food is there willingness to make things right super bizzy noisy so the address was missheard but when I called they corrected it fast and was awesome about fixing it she was also very sweet and patient I love the text they send so you can keep tract of your delivery order (1) gives driver name (2) any notes to the driver (3) amount (4) and tip you added The drivers -shout out to Daniel and Javier) were very quick for this (crazy traffic town) and my house is not on the main street They sent a text when there drivers arrived and then the drivers send a text if they can't find you You guys rock ! Keep of the service and drivers ;))

A Santa Cruz classic, I always love to hit this place up when I'm in town! Great for a quick bite and reasonably priced too.

OMG! Delicious and substantial. And VEGAN! We got half regular cheese and half vegan; we LOVED this pizza! We also got a green salad with balsamic dressing which was fresh and yummy! I wish there was a location near me.

I went here this past week with my friend after not coming for a while and we ended up coming back the next day it was so good. The food here is always amazing and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I love how they have pictures all around the store it gives it a cool atmosphere. I always get the pepperoni and use the pesto ranch. It is so amazing. Definitely recommend coming to try this place out if you haven't already. I have been coming with my family for a long time and I never am disappointed!

Went to Santa Cruz for the weekend with my family and we had a large family. we sat in the patio area and the food was spectacular. Why would you say I would give it four stars and not five stars? First, for our last large pepperoni pizza for our party of eight it took us 45 minutes to get our last pizza. Second, the servers were very hurried and you could barely speak with them. Matter of fact, the one tall gentleman with curly hair walked away from me when I was attempting to ask a simple question. Finally, a very disturbed homeless gentlemen came up to our table and simply began to talk to invisible people and get quite aggressive with us while we were waiting for our food. I asked for help from the staff and they did not respond. Great food and the people behind the counter were great but not one of my best experiences in terms of ambiance, but the food was excellent.

I've been wanting to go to this location for a long time now! Service was awesome. Everyone was so helpful and kind. Pizza was delicious and just what I needed on a Friday night! Don't be afraid of the long lines, it goes by quickly. There's parking nearby. We came here at around 9pm. Got a shirt which was pretty epic too.

Pizza my heart is practically a must when staying multiple days in the Santa Cruz area, they have the biggest and most tastiest slices of pizza. The service is fast as you pick and they place back in the oven. The ambiance is really cool filled with lots of surf photos, stickers and sharks!

Big Sur is #1 for a reason!!! Always our go to and of course had to get this years 2023 shirt that comes with a slice of pizza! The pizza was a tease as we waited for our Big Sur to be ready. Love the history on the walls of the boardwalk!!

Vegan Big Sur is phenomenal. The almond pesto pizza is just cheese pizza with a light drizzle of pesto, which I didn't like. The people working there look overwhelmed and I feel for them, but they have been nothing but helpful and friendly to me. Super Veggie is fine but I won't have it again.
