"Atlanta and its metro area are filled with pizzerias claiming to serve “real” New York-style pies on the menu. Some joints are better at capturing the style better than others. However, Pizza Piccola might just be the genuine article. Order slices and whole pies like a classic cheese, primavera, and a meat lovers loaded with sausage, pepperoni, ham, and bacon to Hawaiian pizzas, a deep dish Sicilian, and even pizza topped with eggplant parmesan. Not into pizza? Order the meatball or chicken parmesan sandwich or the indulgent penne all vodka pasta." - Eater Staff

I am so happy that my wife discovered this gem. What an amazing place with delicious pizza and friendly staff. Here is the summary of my experience here; 1) Ambiance 3/5: Well this is not a fine dining restaurant. This is mostly a takeaway place but they still have some seats for people to eat and wait while they cook it fresh. Even then, I love their transparent setting where you can see your pizza being made, cooked, and packed. There is some parking in front but you might have to search for some space during rush hours 2) Service 5/5: The people here are friendly, helpful, cheerful,l and a delight to talk to. They make sure your requests are taken care of. 3) Food 6/5: We ordered a half-and-half cheese and mushroom pizza, and it was absolute heaven. As per my wife, you could close your eyes while eating a slice and feel transported to a New York pizzeria. 4) Value for Money 5/5: The prices are great and you could have a full meal for under $10. This is true value for money with great taste. If you are a New York-style pizza lover who loves great pizza and great prices in and around this place and has not visited this place yet, you are missing a lot! :) What's Good: 1) Freshly cooked amazing new york style pizza 2) The staff Not so Good: 1) Nothing that I can think of

OMG! I’ve known about this place for years, but today I dropped in for a quick lunch. I had their two slice special, and it was so good…probably the absolute best slices I’ve had in Georgia. The restaurant is immaculate! The service is prompt and friendly! The pizza slices are the same size that you would get in NYC and it has a beautiful cheese pull, so you know they use real mozzarella and quality ingredients! I’ll definitely be back again and again and again! Support this local business NOW!

Wow. I grew up on NY style pizza and had only one place ever in my childhood that could really claim they made a NY style pie. They have long since closed. This place has reinvigorated my love for pizza. It’s shown me that Real authentic, NY style pizza still exists and this location couldn’t be more convenient. Wow, all around. The staff, including the owner, will talk with you and stay friendly even in busy times! They’ll take the time to make you feel like you’re an appreciated customer. Go to Piccola. You won’t regret it and they won’t let you down 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

I couldn’t taste the sauce, Had 2 slices ,the presentation looked really good. A little too soggy for my taste when you fold it. Main thing for me is the lack of taste. Maybe sauce was dried up, not sure but just tasted like soft bread and mozzarella. Yep I’m from Brooklyn. 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Google
I got the artichoke pizza because I was craving for the New York style one. It isn’t exactly the same but close as I’ll get in Atlanta. Also you cannot split the pizza if you choose the artichoke one. The portion was large and shareable between 2, which was great since it costs around $26.

So, I was craving NY style pizza. After reading so many reviews on this place, I decided to check it out. First of all, no one mentioned that its located across the street from a neighborhood Walmart and a Dollar Tree store. That was cool because I had some errands to run. lol The staff was kind and when I came in to pick up my supreme slice of pizza, pick up order. However, to be honest, I walked to my car and opened the bag and noticed that my slice was very over cooked. Of course I was disappointed, but I took the slice back into the store with a smile and they quickly made me a fresh slice which you will see pictured here. The slice was really large and I liked that I could fold the slice to eat it. I can't say I loved the crust...but the toppings were great. The place was clean and they even gave me the over cooked slice to take with me..not sure if I will atttempt to eat it. Kudos to them for still selling slices. So cool. It's a small place ..so get your pizza to go and enjoy.

Google
Good pizza, good service, good price. Will return. Went on a pizza tour of over 20 NY Pizza joints in the Atlanta metro area and this place had some of the best cheese that we sampled.

Two benches out front, no inside seating. Garlic knots are awesome, marinara sauce is literally tomato soup and GOOD. Can't miss, definately will be back.

Yelp
Been going here for a few years. Still the best slice in the game for my money. I moved, so I can't go as often as I used to, but when I'm in the area, I go back. Service: friendly, fast, and never gets the order wrong! Pizza usually takes 15-20 minutes if you order for carry out. They also deliver, but I've always just picked up on site. Quality: You can taste the freshness and quality in the sauce, cheese, toppings, and dough. Pizza is never floppy. Dough/crust is crispy and holds up well. Price: I've always gotten pepperoni or pepperoni & basil, so I can't say for sure the pricing on more than 1-2 toppings. They may not charge for basil either. The pizza is always 24 bucks or so if I remember correctly. Well worth it if you like a nice NY style pizza. Location: easy to access off winters chapel in Norcross/Dunwoody area. Plenty of parking. They also make a mean meatball sub. It's more of a carry out spot. There's a small seating setup but it's more of a "sit here while you wait" setup than an actual "sit down and eat here" setup. I think there are some benches outside though.

Yelp
So this is a very Small shop, only about 4 to 5 seats on the inside and a couple of picnic tables on the inside. No signage but there are small menu's to look at (I tried to take a pic for y'all lol). The service was good. One of the chefs hooked me up with a slice just because. He didn't know me so that was mad cool of him! Fries were pretty good. It was odd because the seasoning on the fries or if there was any legit seasoning it was only on the top, they didn't actually shake the fries in the seasoning so I noticed that. So you would get fries that have something on them and then you get fries that are pretty bare so that was something I noticed. Meat lovers slice was Good. Didn't have as much sauce that I would have liked to have, but it had a lot of meat and it was placed with plenty of flavor. It was kind of like a calzone situation because the bottom and the top of the pizza had crust. I guess they said they were going to do that so they would have to worry about something falling off while you're eating it. We'll just cover it lol. White slice was actually really good. Didn't have meat on it, but it had a very mild but pretty good flavor profile to it. So if you dont eat meat, this may be for you. Lemon pepper wings were Good and flavor but my only grip was the fact that they were very small. Comes with carrots and celery and your choice of ranch and blue cheese dressing. You get about 10 wings, well I did, but again, they weren't the biggest wings. This could be a decent go to pizza spot for me. It didn't miss on flavor. I wish that everyone back there had on gloves, which was my only thing. Is that going to be something that stops me from trying it again, no, but I would have liked to see all employees doing it.

Clint A.

Yelp
Only ordered once since it opened but the pizza was good. It's thick slices so be prepared for heavy crust.

Kandus J.

Yelp
Nice little spot with a great, genuine owner! Service can be a tossup but that's because it's a delicious little spot! Definitely check them out if you like good pizza, for sure!

Michael M.

Yelp
Piccola Pizza is true NY style pizza. Wilton, the owner, moved to ATL from NYC. Very consistent quality perfectly cooked and it tastes like you are in a Brooklyn Pizza Parlor! Polite staff

John B.

Yelp
This is a small place with a couple of bar seats which is clearly geared towards takeout. It took a minute for me to be greeted resulting in some good-natured ribbing (I think) between the staff. I'm always skeptical of places that say "New York Style"; of course you'd want to associate yourself with the pinnacle of the cuisine you're doing, but it's often just a cheap marketing trick. My Sicilian pizza, however, was quite impressive. A distinctively textured crust was browned deliciously at the edges while being soft and relatively light inside, making for a satisfying crunch. Mushrooms and peppers were helpful toppings, and while it is a $30 pizza, it is also enormous and will be good for multiple meals. They didn't have much besides bread and cheese, but the picture of a salad they had up kind of made me wish I'd gotten one. Regardless, you'll be hard pressed to find a better pizza of this sort in the region.

Jared J.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't written about this place yet. This is a pizzeria of any NYC kid's life pre-2000s. The only thing missing are the percolating tank fountains of purple and red drink. This is the kind of pizza I grew up with and thank god it's close to where I live because I get homesick a lot and this helps during those days. We've had almost everything on the menu and besides really good pizza, I love the philly chicken cheesesteak and my wife loves the baked ziti and the regular philly cheesesteak. The cheesesteaks are one of the best that I've had and definitely the best in GA. I also really like the chicken roll, but I do wish it was more like the chicken rolls back in Brooklyn; smaller and no cheesy butter topping. Again, it's a great chicken roll, just sometimes I crave the more simple version of it. This isn't a place where you sit down and eat. It's just a counter and a few stools next to the window bar. There is a table or two outside when the weather is nicer, but ultimately, expect this to be a place where you place and order and pick it up.

Yelp
I have placed to go orders from here twice in the last two weeks and both were very good. First time we ordered a white pizza with pepperoni and a supreme pizza. The garlic knots were amazing. The second time we called and ordered a Sicilian Nona Deep Dish pizza. Highly recommend. Cannot wait to try other offerings.

Mike S.

Yelp
Stopped in for a takeout large pie for lunch. The Good: The pizza was very good. 7.9. Nice and thin and the way I remember from home. They are putting out a nice product. Super nice people too. The Challenges: There were none with my experience except if the pizza stayed in the oven another minute it gets into the 8's. I'll be back. Good pizza in GA. Thank you!

Joshelyn ..

Yelp
BELIEVE THE HYPE!!!! This place is AMAZING!!! We've been twice and the second time sealed the deal! The service is fast and easy! Call-in, ready in 15-20mins. Boom! It's a real deal pizza shop and the accent of whom I assume maybe the owner is real deal NY style of Italian. There are soda cans for sale that are apart of a deal which is two slices with a soda; take about super nostalgic! First time we ordered a medium white pizza with mushrooms, black olives, and bacon added to half the pizza. The original pizza made was wrong so they made us another right on the spot and sold our pizza by the slice because they sell slices of pizza which is rare but awesome. Long story short, the pizza was piping hot and ABSOLUTELY delicious!!! Oh em gee! We finished it in one night and didn't leave leftovers. Fast forward to the second visit which prompted this review, it was pizza night and we wanted to try this place again since it's not far from us. We ordered the veggie with half having pepperoni. I also ordered A Sicilian Nona slice because I love deep dish pizza and wanted to test it out for next time. When I picked the pizza it was super hot! There was steam coming from the box. The Sicilian slice came in a brown bag with a paper plate and I couldn't wait to eat it so I ate it right on the spot in the parking lot lol! It was soooooo flavorful and cheesy and bigger than I anticipated. Definitely will be ordering a whole pizza next time. I saved the rest for my partner so he can try it. The pizza was everything and we finished it in one swoop! So flavorful, so hot, and nice sized slices. This place is a 10 out of 10.

M M.

Yelp
Great pizza!!! We always order mushroom pizza slices. It's reasonable and delicious! After Piccola, we stopped ordering chains.

Ralph G.

Yelp
Piccola like most pizzerias does little to enhance the flavor of their crusts. So, the flavors come entirely from the toppings. But, if one has eaten a pizza from Corky's in East Hartford, CT, and now in Arlington, TX, then "pizza" takes on an entirely different meaning. So, the flavor of the toppings of Piccola's pies are very good, easy to earn 4 stars. But...

Sarah R.

Yelp
Pizza was great! Had a large meat lovers pizza to go. I'm excited to try other flavors in the future.

R M.

Yelp
OMG. The food is delicious. I'm originally from New Jersey and it's really difficult to find New York style pizza in Georgia. Piccola's has changed my view. Their food is amazing. Great attitude too.

Yury A.

Yelp
Great pizza predominately take out. Staff is friendly and pricing is fair. Garlic knots are a hit Calzones are a must try. Will be back

Susan F.

Yelp
I heard their pizza was great but I tried their calzone. Oh my gosh!, it was delicious and huge. Now, I can't wait to try the pizza.

Sarah M.

Yelp
If you want the best New York style pizzia this is it! The smells and taste takes me back to the big city. There is one huge difference the owner is a super kind and wonderful person to talk with. ENJOY

Adam C.

Yelp
You gotta get your NY Pizza on - wow wow wow! The owner is right outta the Bronx And every thing is made fresh - like right there on the spot! I asked him about his chicken Parmesan and his eggplant Parmesan and he brought out the chicken and basically it was freshly pounded thin. So he also he fried up some samples of the eggplant which was literally out of this world. Being that I grew up in the restaurant business I was able to spot that he was using literally some of the finest ingredients available. Wilton, takes his time and cooks his sauce and prepares everything so fresh. I wish I he had a sitdown restaurant near my house. Naturally, he treats every customer like you are a longtime family member, even though I just walked in the door, and we shared the common background I was instantly made to feel special ! So if you're in the area, you gotta stop by and pick up a pie and some other yumminess!

Michelle C.

Yelp
A quality pizza place in an unassuming lil plaza. Called on a Saturday evening for pick up and ordered the Sicilian artichoke and chicken bacon ranch pizza. The pricing is decent for the level of quality gone into the pizza. I wish the slices were a bit thicker than they were but they were still yummy. The Sicilian had pesto, peppers, and artichokes. The chicken bacon ranch was pretty straightforward with no tomato sauce. Overall, would come back to try their well priced lunch special!

Brian I.

Yelp
Way over priced for what you get , how see we this the best pizza in Ga, just get the $60.00 for (2) pizzas . I am from NYC and this is is the best. If they can get the order correct, add the cheese they charged me for, I would be a very happy cusotmer. Charging me for it but not adding is is frustrating. Give me what I pay for. I give them 5 starts because of the pizza is so good , so , so good! Reminds me of home

Josh L.

Yelp
These Sicilian slices are huge! Hand added for effect. Pepperoni, Green Peppers and Black Olives.

Dazziyah M.

Yelp
I use to live next to this place and NEVER even knew it existed and now that I'm far away, I'm so sad lol. But I decided to go the other day and omg! *I got 2 slices of cheese pizza cause I'm a plain girl and they were so good! One slice was probably the size of my head. I reheated the second one in the air fryer the next day and it was still so good. I definitely will be going back. *I also got my mom some lemon pepper wings and they looked like they were bout to be so good too! I have to try it next time. Covid friendly

Suhana E.

Yelp
I tried the Buffalo chicken pizza. That was super fantastic. I liked it a lot. The margarita pizza wasn't good; I've had way better margarita pizza.

Sid B.

Yelp
Update after 7 months: enjoying even better. 1. Authentic NY pizza made by a former New Yorker. Crust, oil, cheese sauce. Perfect cheese pizza. My Son and his roommates find their pepperoni the best in Atlanta . Lots of pepperoni. 2. Until here we were not fans of white pizza. We have it plain or with artichoke . Sometimes just a few slices, sometimes half pizza with cheese the other half. Very accommodating Oh yeah they always have selection by the slice. 3. Sandwiches great. My favorites are meatball parm and ny cheesesteak. 4. Daughter eats the pizza but prefers their baked ziti. Its good! Comes with garlic twists. 5. Wilton (the owner) is really cool and accommodating. Forgive him for being a Mets fan ( that happens to new yorkers) Located across the street from Walmart on Winters Chapel at peeler . Call ahead, they usually have it ready 15-20 minutes

James N.

Yelp
We normally order pizza but have the calzones a try. Definitely the best calzone in the area. They put ricotta inside with mozzarella which was a nice touch. Big spoon of melted garlic herb butter on top, sprinkled with Parmesan. They're fast too, food was ready in 15 min. Awesome pizza place all around, very much a corner NY style pizza spot.

KILLAH G.

Yelp
First 5 star review. Wow!!! What a wonderful place. A place like you'd find on Grand Concourse in the Bronx that you know is amazing and everyone else hasn't discovered yet. Really friendly and skilled staff. The kind of place where the owner knows his regulars by name. Now for the food. DELICIOUS!!!! Everything that I tried was so flavorful and authentic. I started with a plain slice. If you can't get that right I usually just leave. Let's just say I stayed and ended up ordering a Sicilian pie, a few more slices, and baked ziti. Once again DELICIOUS!!!! Even on the reheat the food retained its flavor. I would be there everyday but unfortunately I'm an hour away and can only go once in a while but it's worth it. Can't say I've had better food in Georgia than made at Pizza Piccola New York Style restaurant. Please check this place out and thank me later.

Shantrell S.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch after a serious craving for buffalo chicken pizza. I saw that the previous reviews were looking pretty good for this spot. I placed my order online and they have some decently priced lunch specials that I will be back for. They sell by the slice and whole pies. I got one buffalo chicken pizza slice and a supreme slice. It took about 10 minutes and my order was piping hot and fresh when I picked it up. The owner is very nice, as everyone has mentioned before. He's very friendly and ensures that your order is correct, hot and fresh! The pizza was delicious! I like my buffalo chicken pizza a little more saucy but all the flavors were there and the supreme was *chef's kiss*! I highly recommend this pizza spot for anyone on that side of town. It will not disappoint.

Elliott B.

Yelp
Always and I do mean ALWAYS perfect...BEAUTIFUL even...LOL I enjoy the pies here, as my other reviews will reflect. The owner takes pride in his product and he NEVER skimps (very important). He also does not use cheap toppings , especially the cheese. If you try other pies, you can literally TASTE the difference. If you want that BEAUTIFUL PIZZA, come to Piccola!

Kelly C.

Yelp
Closest to NY pizza I've had since moving here in '89. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu.

Trikarri B.

Yelp
There's nothing like a good slice of pizza and Piccola in Dunwoody does it right. First I was skeptical, I mean it IS pizza in Dunwoody of all places but this place is the real deal. I ordered 2 slices of Sicilian w/ pepperoni, a slice of buffalo chicken and a slice of meat lovers for me and Mama Southern Foodie Bae. 15 minutes later it was fresh out of the oven. Y'all omg! It was soooo good. Everything about each slice was delicious. The sauce wasn't overwhelming, the cheese wasn't too much, the toppings were perfectly cooked and it wasn't too bready. This place is catty corner from where the old Big Dave's location in the Shell station was. There's ample parking and it's take out or delivery only. No dine in option. I absolutely loved this place. Choosing a pizza place can be daunting sometimes so this is my new fave.

Jay W.

Yelp
Im sure like many of you , I'm a foiodie !! I'm Always looking for a local non chain restaurant of all flavors !! I found this place on yelp - very glad I did !! Real ingredients , real owner , really damn good !!! Today was my first time , I'll be coming back again - Great thin crust pie :) Awesome experience , can't say enough !!

Ikraam O.

Yelp
Y'all. This pizza is legit. If you're looking for a Ny type pizza, then come here. I want to even go as far as saying it's better than antico. Oh my gawd. Finally a decent pizza place that sells slices and isn't too expensive!! I had it delivered thru ubereats and it was pretty far but someone told me I HAD to try it and it did not disappoint.

David W.

Yelp
I was raised on great NY pizza having grown up in Brooklyn. Piccolo was recommended by a friend and we went and tried a cheese pizza. It was great! The cheese, crust and sauce were authentic. We will definitely be back for more and to sample the rest of the menu.

Sam B.

Yelp
Pretty recent pizza place. Got to try it out on a Thursday evening. There's little seating inside (all bar style too). There's plenty of parking and two picnic tables right in front of store as well on the outside. However, this is more of a takeout place. We got a supreme 14"in pizza and a Stromboli. Stromboli was stuffed was cheese and meat. The sauce on the side was a good compliment as well. The pizza was great too, one of the best NY style I've had in Atlanta so far. The owner has been making pizza since 1993 in New York and recently moved down to start this shop. Had a nice time talking with him, he definitely knows his pizza. There's a lunch special going on, 2 cheese slices and a drink, wish I was closer to this place to visit more often!

Rob Z.

Yelp
Best NY style in the area. Actually some stiff competition. We've had most. This the best one. Customer service was great too. Pizza and knots came out quick.

Alex K.

Yelp
Amazing. Was passing through on the way to ATL airport and made a pit stop for pizza and wings. This pizza is everything NY is about! Brought back a lot of childhood memories of thin, crispy crust with just the right amount of grease. Also ordered a side of mild wings - their secret is they are baked then fried. So flavorful! The owner at the counter was one of the sweetest people. Kept checking in as we ate and wanting to make sure we were enjoying every bite. There are about 4 window still seats so more of a takeout place FYI. A couple people came in for pickup and literally raves about how they love this place. I can see why they keep coming back! Oh, the total for a large pie, wings and two sodas was less than $35.

Danilo U.

Yelp
The hype is real. This will be my go to pizza spot from now on! Delicious pizza! Ordered a large pepperoni. Crust? Check. Sauce? Check. Cheese? Perfect!

Anissa M.

Yelp
I tried the Buffalo Chicken pizza that everyone was raving about and the BBQ wings, ordered via GrubHub. Pleasantly surprised! Delicious and I will be ordering again!

Chad W.

Yelp
I've had this pizza delivered countless times. Always phenomenal. Got it again tonight and it was so good I felt compelled to leave a review. My personal favorite in Atlanta.

Emma W.

Yelp
Amazing pizza! It's by the slice, but the slice are huge, which is perfect for lunch. Just a few stools to sit at on the inside, and a table outside, but take it with you - it's just that good. The owner is super nice and friendly and making the pies in the back. You can tell that he takes pride in his creations. This is my family's go-to pizza place in Atlanta. Cheese for my youngest, white pie for my oldest, either cheese or white for me, and whatever else they have got for my husband.

Kaelyn C.

Yelp
The pizza was really good! I ordered the Margarita large pizza and I genuinely would get it again!

Chris N.

Yelp
A simple slice of cheese pizza is all you need to try to understand that this place is a true hidden gem. I live so close that I'll just bike here for lunch too occasionally to grab a couple slices. Definitely worth a try. Probably closest thing you'll find to a true New York slice outside of New York.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza!! Really love the Hawaiian and the Meat lovers!! Excellent consistency every time we order!

Jimmy R.

Yelp
Local family business with great Pizza. We recently found this place and wanted to support local. The Pizza is great and the team there is very nice. Make sure to tap on the menu to make it size correctly on your phone.

Deborah B.

Yelp
New York Pizza place in Dunwoody! Slices, Calzone, Pasta... yum. Cannot wait to get home and enjoy!

Sean S.

Yelp
Tried it out yesterday after reading some reviews. I went with the 2 slice lunch special and added sausage. The pizza was absolutely delicious, big slices with a perfectly cooked crust. First trip tasted so good I figured I give it a second try today. Today I went with the cheesesteak, also absolutely delicious, big sandwich with perfectly cooked fresh ingredients. I would definitely recommend you giving this place a try!

Tamika F.

Yelp
5 stars!! All day!!! Listen, the pizza is NYC all day! I was on the phone with my best friend today while I got my pizza from here which I normally do at least once a week because guess what this pizza was fire.. It was hot thin crust , flavorful and the cheese pull is immaculate. I literally have to go back to work immediately so I eat one on my way back after I give it a little razzle dazzle with garlic powder from the spot. If you have never tried it before please try it. The customer service is immaculate and the food is delicious.

Ray B.

Yelp
I kept seeing positive reviews coming up on the yelp feed for this Piccola New York pizza place and finally decided to give it a try. All of the positive reviews are justified. We decided to try a somewhat basic pepperoni and mushroom pizza with thin crust. The pizza was very enjoyable, the crust is thin but it's not that "crispy" thin ... it's that fold it up type of thin and that's completely fine, it was very good. The pizza does remind me of slices I've had in New York City. All of the flavors worked out well together. After a few weeks, we decided to try their sandwich menu. I tried to meat ball sandwich and it was fine ... the bread was fresh and the meatballs were good but I think the pizza is better. My partner had the cheese steak and liked it a lot. This place is only for takeout. The interior is just too small and there's really no seating. I phoned in Both of the times I ordered because that way they don't have to pay an online service commission (you know how that works... right?). Piccola is located at the intersection of Winters Chapel,Rd. and Peeler Road in a small, somewhat decrepit, shopping center directly across from the larger, somewhere decrepit, shopping center that houses one of the last remaining Walmart neighborhood supermarkets in the area.
