"La Brea option Pizza Romana has closed. The three-year-old Italian spot had slowed it service in recent months, canning dinner back in the fall. Now the restaurant has gone completely kaput, despite signage in the window hinting only at some renovations. The website for Pizza Romana is now completely offline, and the company’s Instagram page reads “closed permanently” in the bio section, with the last post coming on December 3. Yelp has them listed as closed as well, with the final reviews coming in mid-December. Pizza Romana made a decent splash back in 2015 when it opened in the former Cube space, right next door to Bludso’s on La Brea. At the time there were even fewer fast casual build-your-own pizza options around Los Angeles, and names like Pizzana, Superfine, and LBK were still years away. But with a glut of pizza in the city now, plus La Brea’s sometimes tricky parking — and a lot of general Italian in the surround neighborhoods, from Angelini to Mozza to Ronan — Romana struggled at times to stay relevant in the larger conversation. The loss of Pizza Romana is just the latest in a slew of closures to hit Los Angeles in the past month or so." - Farley Elliott

This place is bomb dot com. I recommend their olive tapenade on EVERYTHING. Pizza margarita is delicious, high quality cheese. Pizza Bianca and mac n cheese also great.

Really great prices. Their manager is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. If you talk to him, he'll tell you he's been in the business for years and he personally knows every single person who he buys wine from in Italy. His passion really comes across in the restaurant. Great variety of pizzas, very friendly staff, and good casual ambiance as well. I've loved everything I've tried here!

Simply the best, most authentic and cheapest pizza in town. They fly their dough in from Italy! Ferment it overnight, and then bake in a traditional built out Italian pizza oven. Get the Buffalo Mozzarella pizza with Prosciutto, which is amazing, for $10! Warm and comfortable, with a funky and reasonable wine list. This is one of the great finds in the city.

I had a really great time here. The personal pizzas hit the spot, there's no wrong choice. Of course, I had pepperoni. It had the woodfired taste on the crust. Its a fun trip to the bathroom...there's a line you need to follow to get to it but its clean and only good for 1 person at a time.

My family used to be regulars at the Pitfire on Fairfax, but had to find a new spot after they changed to Gesso, and we're better off for it. Romana is great. The pizza is on point and they've got some nice sides and good beer and wine options at a nice price. Totally kid and family friendly and the food comes out quickly. We really love this spot for our regular pizza fix.

Great fast casual spot for Italian style pies, and surprisingly good fried chicken. The pies are individual sized and made to order. The menu if full of pre chosen pizza options. I had ordered a couple pies and some fried chicken strips. The pies were great, but the chicken here may be the real champion. The fried chicken batter was light and crispy, well seasoned, and not greasy. Will return to try more here.
