Katsu Burger Opens Its New Location in Kent, Washington | Eater Seattle

"Slated for 213 Broadway E (taking over the former Ammi’s Pakwan / New India Express space), Pizza Twist is a Chicago-based chain with more than 50 locations that highlights Indian flavors and ingredients; their website touts pies influenced by tandoori chicken, palak paneer, and tikka masala, plus appetizers such as pakoras, naan breadsticks, and samosas. It’s unclear when this outpost will open, but when it debuts it will be the third in the region after Lynnwood and Kent." - Gabe Guarente

Wanted to try this Indian pizza place and this place was good. We ordered their Chicken Tikka masala and spicy lamb sticks along with spicy bbq wings. Even though we ordered extra hot (level 4) the pizzas were mild. While the pizza was fresh, crust was delish generous toppings I expected more from flavors from the chicken tikka pizza. The spicy lamb was also good nothing great. While the service was fantastic this is more of a togo place rather than dine in. While we still liked our pizzas we have had better indian style pizza from other places so if you are in the neighborhood craving an indian pizza give them a try.

Ate here around midnight. We ordered half butter chicken/half tikka masala Large pizza. They mistakenly made half of it something else, but they immediately fixed it. I really appreciate the effort to make it right. Delicious pizza too! Would go back.

Google
I recently visited Pizza Twist and had a really good experience. Their pizzas have a unique Indian-style twist that makes them stand out from the usual options. The flavors are bold, well-balanced, and remind you of authentic Indian spices while still keeping that classic pizza taste. The crust was fresh, the toppings were generous, and everything came out hot and well-prepared. If you’re looking for a pizza place that serves something different, flavorful, and satisfying, Pizza Twist is definitely worth trying.

Google
So Soggy that if you move the pizza box to left, the toppings will move left. Quality is questionable due to some funny taste from the dough and paneer. They’ll never put cilantro. No matter what you buy

Google
Review is for a delivery through UberEats: We were in the neighborhood, visiting from out of country and I'm glad we ordered from here. We ordered one vegetarian pizza and one vegan one and the Vegan one was a fan favorite. I would strongly recommend the Plant-Based Bombay Garlic Chicken Pizza Twist. The dough was amazing and though the toppings weren't generous, pizza did taste great. Also, they are open till late. Do give them a try! 💚🌱

Google
Great pizza, halal chicken, drinks were cold. Music is nice but place was hot on a hot day. Spicy fries were not bad. A little pricy, paid 30 for small pizza, fries and drink.

Google
Best Indian Flavored Pizza in Seattle. I’ve ordered pizzas from this place. Even I’ve visited this restaurant several times. I love the pizzas from this place. The chicken tikka is my favorite. The blend of North Indian spices is amazing. Much recommended!

Google
Too good to express and experience. Indian flavors with Italian pinch. I tired a couple of their pizza .Extremely grateful to have experienced such a wonderful taste. Yogesh the chef saw that he is best at it. He came and explained all the pizza and had the best knowledge of crest in making them. Overall a must try place if you have a pizza carving. Karan the owner a gem. Such a kind person with again extremely talented at his profession. Thank you guys you Rock Capital Hill.

Yelp
Yummy gluten free vegan pizza, your usual crust and cheese taste and texture as far as those pizzas go. My partner did not like his regular "Indian" pizza that was recommended, it pretty much was just a veggie bbq sauce pizza with paneer on it. The actual restaurant is a bit run down. The bathroom is kinda yucky. I would do take out instead of dine in. The guy who helped us was very nice and seemed confident in answering questions about the ingredients and making my pizza gluten free and vegan. I would go back and try again, but my partner says he wouldn't because he wanted an Indian pizza and didn't get it.

Yelp
This place totally deserves a solid 4 star!!! Great pizza, loved the twist!! I ordered via DoorDash app after a long work day for dinner so didn't really get a dine in experience. My friend and I shared a medium original hand tossed crust - achari chicken pizza. The pizza was warm, fresh and very delicious. The Indian fusion taste never disappoints. Loved the taste. It was quite reasonably priced plus was timely. The delivery was fairly quick as well. Can't wait to try the rest other pizzas off the menu. Give this place a shot if you like extra flavors on your pizza!

Yelp
Fantastic plant-based options for vegan and non-dairy lovers. Quick service, pizzas are always ready within 20 minutes or less. The staff is helpful, responsive, and gave us an extra pizza one time when they forgot a topping. (Note: They ask that you mention in your order if you want cilantro on your pizza because they will leave it off even if the item description says it's included). This is a great place to satisfy your late-night pizza cravings, and if you are vegan there is nothing else comparable in the neighborhood :) We have enjoyed the pizzas (and wings) from Pizzatwist and will continue to order from them!

Yelp
Got a bunch of vegetarian cottage cheese and chicken pizzas for a party. They were a bit soggy by the time we got them but still a pretty decent party snack. Service was quick.

Yelp
I do love Indian fusion pizza a lot and I go to the east side for that. I recently found this place when I was trying to order from Uber eats. So I tried the chicken tikka pizza and Samosas. The samosas were just okay, not very flavorful. When I ordered the food online for pick up, I said no mushrooms but the order still came with mushrooms on it. Had to throw it away. There is no designated parking area, just street parking.

Tanzim O.

Yelp
Horrible food. Bad chicken, raw, nasty meat. Disgusting. Not edible, this is food hazard.

Yelp
Came here with a group after a long day looking for a quick and easy meal. Not my first time at this particular establishment and I have to say things have really gone downhill. I came here about a year ago and things were okay at best but now I cannot say I will recommend this restaurant to anyone else. Starting with the pizza, it was as basic as it could get. It really just tasted like they took a frozen pizza, slapped it in the oven, and then served it to us. This was unfortunately the best part of the meal as well. I will spare the details of the wings as it pains me to remember them. They had little sauce and it was just like eating a dry nugget. We had boneless (not my choice). My friend took a bite and it was black and had lots of cartilage inside. I will not be making a return. I was told this gave a few of my friends stomach issues. Sorry pizza twists...

Yelp
The wait time was kinda long but worth it! My roomie and I shared a large pizza that was half paneer tikka masala and half manchurian. The cauliflower bites would be better if they were soaked in the same delicious manchurian sauce coating the pizza! No complaints for the paneer. PS if you're a vegetarian I wouldn't go for the wings- The sauce was amazing but the plant based texture was doughy. However, it's called pizza twist and the PIZZA was fantastic- that's what counts.

Yelp
Idk why this place doesn't have a 5-star rating but this pizza is delicious. I did half butter chicken, half pepperoni and sausage, AND butter sauce instead of the normal tomato sauce. Shit is good as fuck. The front desk dude was super nice too and the place was cleaned and organized. I need to try their breadsticks next time cause they looked good too. Stoner approved.

Yelp
Came around this pizza place while on the way to Ian's Pizza. When I saw the menu I was excited seeing Indian topping Pizzas. Which means I do not have to travel far South or North to eat one. The place is in the main location with many other good eats around but parking is a hassle. I have seen cars with emergency lights parked in the middle turning lane for food pick ups. Which is what we did hehe. Ample of sitting space available, which were all empty. Looks like majority place an order for pick up or delivery. I placed my order on their website which allows me to omit or add my choice of topping. We placed an order for pick up:- Curry paneer pizza $14 - That's the price of a small sized pizza. We omitted mushrooms and olives. It tastes just awesome. Soft base with yummy sauce, doesn't give a dry mouth feel. Perfect They are open late, I guess past midnight. Which is perfect for those days with late hunger pangs. The order was ready when we came to pick up. The only downside for me was the price, which does not go well with the quantity that they serve.

Yelp
Their pizza has definitely improved since the last time I tried them, this time around we ordered the Tandoori Chicken Pizza Twist and Paneer Tikka Masala Pizza Twist. Both were really good and it was more saucy and cheesy than the last time, the chicken and panneer weren't dry like last time, it was juicy and definitely much better tasting. The Chicken one was spicy and flavourful, and I would definitely come back for more!

Yelp
THIS SPOT IS A LIFE SAVER. After a long day at the CHBP fest this summer my group was craving some late night goods that could be delivered to where we were at. Pizza Twist answered our needs! We ordered the All Meat Pizza, which was affordable, savory and cheesy, and a whole heavy hitter! Service was so fast and the pizza was fresh even with delivery! We loved the quality and the price! Can't wait to have it again when I visit Seattle in the future.
google avatar

Disha G.

Yelp
I was really excited to eat their pizzas but it turned out to be disappointment. It was an average cold pizza and not up-to its flavors. The cheese bread was blank. Can do better for the price.

Yelp
I've decided to try a new thing that's comparable to a "live". I'm going to be writing down thoughts during my experience and then copying and pasting it to Yelp. I've wanted to try this place after seeing it in development for so long. Finally I had an opportunity and I took it. First reaction was intrigue because it's a combination of Indian flavors and ingredients and Italian pizza. Those of you who have been following my reviews know that I am a snob when it comes to Italian food AND DEF pizza. (From New York, I just can't help myself). I was the only one in there ordering but it still felt "warm". The employee who helped me was also the chef so that was cool! I got the pizza in just 10 minutes or so & the"LARGE" Box was already concerning-- but I decided not to open the box until I got home. I left feeling excited because he was confident I was going to like it. If this was true or not I didn't know but I already have an issue with the size --but that's a Seattle thing. First glance it actually looks pretty good--And although I definitely know this is comparable to a frozen pizza , I'm excited. First bite 10 out of 10! Confirmed it's fast food but wow! Taste is on point!!! Crust wasn't burnt and ratio of cheese to sauce to toppings is *chef's kiss*! I usually salt and pepper my food from fast food places but this was well seasoned. Will be going back to try out more of their menu!! And think it will find it's spot here soon! Some negatives: size (obviously) Crust is the same generic Seattle pre made crust all the pizza places order from They don't deliver (but they do food delivery apps) Sauce on the side cup is so tiny lmfao Some positives: Atmosphere Open late (2am!) Only pizza spot in the immediate area Only fast food spot other than Dick's so there's is defa need for it!

Yelp
We got a tikka masala pizza & palak paneer pasta. The pizza was more flavorful than the pasta. Overall, both were okay. I wouldn't recommend the pasta, it was quite bland.

Yelp
Recommended by a coworker and being across the street from my apartment I thought I would give them a shot. Basic three topping pizza super friendly guys great price on a large pizza. When I got home and opened the box it smelled good.. however I'm about 95% sure the crust is previously frozen. It's the exact same thickness from edge to center. Has a strange crispy yet not crispy texture with absolutely zero bread/dough/yeast taste we all expect in a pizza. When I went to pick up the pizza it was dead quiet I didn't hear knives or smell a thing now that I think about it. However Service was great, ambience? Well there really wasn't any. Food? I simply had a three topping pizza. It's perfect for a late night stoner feast for sure however based on the quality of the crust alone I doubt I will return. For $10-$12 more Palermo's pumps out one hell of a pie and has always been my go to. They will continue to be my go to pizza place. I gave pizza twist a try , I gave an honest review. It's not terrible, it's just not very good. Thanks for the great service for sure guys!!

Navya R.

Yelp
I usually order from them. The acahari paneer and chicken pizza is great! Recently tried the tikka one but I prefer the Achari

Yelp
I had a 20 pizza order for a work event and tried a slice of a few different pizzas. The order was perfect, and the pizzas were hot and fresh. The staff who made my order definitely did a great job! I wanted to try the vegan pizza and have a few folks at work who are vegan and ordered a vegan combo and vegan garlic chicken. Both were good. The vegetarian pizza was popular although I did not try it myself. The chicken tikka was good but not as flavorful as some other fusion places. The bbq chicken was a hit, but not my cup of tea. The all meat and combination were good and also had a Halal Mediterranean which was great (with lamb). All in all solid pizza. The crust was hand tossed and cooked well. I will definitely order from here again.

Yelp
Food is to die for! Me and all my friends are now regulars of pizza twist. The menu has a great variety of gluten free and vegan options. Great customer service the guys who run the place are very kind and respectful. Highly recommend stopping in if you are in capital hill and looking for a pizza and wings place with tons of options

Yelp
We live in the area and have ordered from here several times. It always is quick, fresh and yummy. We love it for a reasonably priced, quick evening dinner when I don't want to cook l at home. The workers are also friendly. Would recommend.

Yelp
I really do not have complaints about the food, it was tasty for me. I do not know about the amount of toppings, but I guess it was ok. What bothered me was their nerve to take a surcharge called "Non-Cash Adjustment" on top of the Tax. It was about 3.5% of the order + tax. I guess this is something related to the fact that you pay with a credit card. I pay A LOT with my credit card in all kinds of places and never encountered such a surcharge. Had I known, I would have used my debit card. Caveat Emptor.

Yelp
I got into Pizza Twist when I was living in Pittsburgh, and was pretty excited to see the coming soon signage come up in Seattle. For the unfamiliar, Pizza Twist is a chain whose claim to innovation is putting Indian flavors on a pan pizza. They have offerings for the vegetarian, vegan, and keto among us, and the results are generally pretty tasty. I stopped here for the first time today and got myself a vegan tikka masala pizza, something I tried and quite enjoyed at the Pittsburgh location. Over all, I really liked the pan style crust and find the vegan chicken and cheese they use tasty in the grand scheme of vegan chicken and cheese. I ordered my pizza spicy and was a little disappointed at the lack of tikka masala flavor and heat - it was a tasty pizza, but could've been marketed as a white pizza with vegan chicken. This is now the closest pizza chain to my house, so I'll probably be back, but I would like to see some amped up flavors.

Yelp
Figured I'd give this place a try, since it's new. The medium Hawaiian pizza was perfectly fine, but nothing spectacular....and it was $18, including tip. Their biggest problem is going to be that I could've gotten a frozen pizza across the street from QFC which probably would've been 80% as good, at a third the price. The place has all the atmosphere of a bus terminal, which doesn't help when you're waiting 15 minutes for your order. But the cashier was very nice and friendly, so there's that. I'd love to see them make it, but sadly think they're going to have to up their game to do so.
google avatar

Colter W.

Yelp
I don't have much to say. I really was so excited another pizza place was opening in my location. Even more excited that they offer a wide variety of new and unique pizza types. Sadly, the pizza really didn't have much flavor, like zero what so ever and for the price I was very dissapointed. I take pizza very seriously, and it hurts my heart when I have to say I dislike a pie. With this being said, we tried a Bombay garlic veggie pizza, I will need to try a standard meat pizza with red sauce and then come back to update the review! I still have hope that maybe it was just the one experience that didn't go well. -Colter W

Yelp
My partner went here today 3/20/22 around 5:30pm to order the vegan cheesy bread and the man at the counter said the *vegan* cheesy bread is not vegan. When my partner asked what he meant by that, the man at the counter doubled down. The man said "yeah it's not really vegan because of the cheese. The sign is misleading." I'm horrified, regardless of whether what the employee said is true or not, because either 1) the store is lying about their vegan menu items actually being vegan or 2) they hire the absolute dumbest people possible to work there. I was very excited to try this place out because they offer vegan items, but now I'll never go there. I don't trust them. Who knows what's in the vegan labeled menu items. The people who work there don't even know!
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Solid pizza choices if you go with the Paneer twist options. The flavors are *chef's kiss* and bursting with every bite. We've ordered from here 4 times and we've been consistently impressed. Definitely a great place when you want pizza with a twist for a quick and easy dinner. They offer pickup and delivery.
google avatar

G V.

Yelp
Great vegan menu and selection. The pizzas are delicious and have amazing crust. Also have vegan cheese bread and if you aren't vegan they have many other options, but overall great experience
google avatar

Geeth Sekhar C.

Yelp
Worst pizza ever I would say, this is my worst pizza or worst fusion food ever. These people should realize that a few combinations doesn't work no matter what they do. These fusions are as bad as they can be. I would definitely avoid these pizzas

Andre O.

Yelp
Pizza was pretty good. My first time having curry pizza. Might come again to try something different. I avoided coming in here since it opened since the lighting is terrible. BRIGHT white like a retail shop so the dining experience was a bit unpleasant. Would benefit from warm lights like other restaurants on the hill. I also didn't know it was Indian style pizza should market that on the window! Interesting take on pizza.
google avatar

AJ L.

Yelp
Pretty tasty stuff. Bit of a different take than the Indian pizza I was introduced to by Can-am out in Redmond, I feel like the flavors here are a little more Americanized, a little cheesier and less spice-heavy - but that isn't inherently a bad thing. Although Capitol Hill has no shortage of solid pizza, it's a nice change of pace - I could see getting a couple for a party or group event.

Frankie S.

Yelp
holy cow hot damn i'm complete this is the 'za for moi! yelp said this had to be 30 characters longer so here we are
google avatar

Sam K.

Yelp
This is a really good pizza place, I tried it for the first time today through Doordash and I came from California, it was a really good pizza especially for the price. I got the Supreme pizza and the crust was great, quality of the ingredients were good, and it was one of those pizzas that you really can't be disappointed with.

Chris M.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this gem and had my mind blown. Pizza with Indian flavors. Chicken. Tikka Masala on a pizza? Yes please. I had the Achar Chicken pizza and it was spicy and so good. I met the owner and he was great to talk to and so helpful while I was deciding what to order. What a huge and pleasant surprise. So glad I found this place.

Vandara R.

Yelp
If you had indian pizza before, this place aint it. I got the tika masala chicken pizza and didnt even have any tika masala sauce on it. Not worth the $20 i spent on a medium. ( $20 for a medium right? ) Probably wont be coming back
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
Not gross pizza but nothing special at all. The pictures on the website are extremely misleading. The pictures make it look like it's really thick and loaded with toppings. I ordered the chicken tikka masala pizza. It was as flat as a frozen pizza. Barely any sauce. I ordered extra spicy and it had no spice at all. Restaurant was empty practically but took a long time to get my pizza. Three different people asked what my order was and what my name was. I won't be back

J C.

Yelp
They messed up the order completely, trying to call to let them know I was coming back was a nightmare, explaining the situation was even worse. ESPECIALLY trying to get ahold of someone just to transfer me to the location directly just to put me in a loophole. Awful experience and I do not recommend this place to anyone that wants to actually get the food they order. Wish I could rate lower with how this experience has been.
google avatar

Yelp
after a long day of climbing this place hits the right spots. friendliest staff and quick delicious food. dont expect your average pizza. it wasnt average. it was great and i just added this place to my google maps favorites because i plan to come back here after climbing days. i love indian flavors and pizza. this place did both.

N G.

Yelp
Ordered a chicken tikka masala pizza and a cookie pizza. The pizza arrived and was far smaller than the box it was in. The biggest issue with it, though, came from it not having any sauce on it and no spice at all. It was the driest and blandest pizza ever! As for the cookie? Didn't arrive. A tub of tiramisu came instead--that's not even on the menu. Don't waste your money here. I was very disappointed in this place after having looked forward to trying it for a long time.
google avatar

Mohit K.

Yelp
We placed the order through door dash. We ordered shahi paneer pasta, but received chicken pasta instead.

Stu M.

Yelp
Was excited for the concept of this place. Indian meets pizza. Amazing. Given that it's a chain, saw this coming, but had mild hopes it would be delicious. It was not. Ingredients were fresh. Pizza was crisp. Flavor was dull (Tikka Masala Pizza). A fun experience that we're happy to have tried once, but, for the flavor and caliber you're getting for the price, will not be back. The brothers running the store were friendly.
google avatar

Hajera A.

Yelp
They really did great with this pizza, i am so pleased at all the new vegan options. This pizza is truly delicious and the owners & staff are very kind with a beautiful smile. I got the vegan pizza with no onion, vegan chicken, vegan pepperoni, peppers, and olives. It tastes delicious! Thank you!
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
The pizza gave me food poisoning and I ended up with severe abdominal pain and diarrhea... I had to go to the hospital - who told me the food was definitely contaminated.......

Taylor W.

Yelp
Tons of vegan options i've been here multiple times in the past month and usually get the vegan cheesey bread or a small vegan pizza, always delicious good quality for late night pizza, never had a bad experience and the food has been on point they are quick and friendly

Jason V.

Yelp
I recently tried this pizza spot in Capitol Hill. The staff are friendly and the pizza was good as expected. The prices are reasonable for the area.

Don O.

Yelp
Everytime i come here before they close they always cool about it usually people be weird. The pizza is good not doughy.

Brandon M.

Yelp
My second experience with pizza twist was much better than the first. The pizza was good and the handoff was great.

Danny T.

Yelp
First time in Seattle and was recommended this place for Indian pizza. Ended up with the tandoori chicken and curry masala chicken pizzas. Both tasted great. This establishment is new so it definitely looks to be a work in progress but staff was very nice and professional. Would come back again.

Hema B.

Yelp
I've tried pizza from various places in Seattle. I agree that Pizza Twist Indian version is a perfect evolution to the Italian version. I tried panner tikka masala and was the best one, would definitely buy it again. They took 10 mins, I picked it up from stores.
