Google
Friendly service in a dive bar atmosphere. They serve beer and pizza… We had a beer before the Sea Dogs game.

Google
I really love this little dive. Check em out, but don't take my seat. The atmosphere is cool and moody, dimly lit (which I love), and very chill without slacking on service. They've a great selection at the bar, and everything I've ever eaten here has been fantastic. I don't even normally eat pizza, but I'll eat it from here because it is ridiculously delicious. 5 stars.

Google
Very good pizza, thin crust. Prices are very reasonable. They have a bar, and a children friendly area also.

Google
I ordered takeout from here a few weeks back for a meeting, the staff was super kind and the order was ready in a very good timeline. I ordered four pizzas and two salad salads. I requested extra salad dressing and utensils for a group and did not get either, the pizzas are 10 inches and taste like cheap frozen pizza… Four 10 inch pizzas and two salad salads, came to a total of $86, it just seemed like a lot of money for the quality and size of food.

Food was out of this world. The Cook Jimmy James Dexter was amazing, and the food was fabulous! I got Arlyn's World Famous Cheese Pizza with his personal favorite Chicken Wings! PIZZA VILLA IS AMAZING

Google
Sandwich was amazing and the potato chips were enormous! Will definitely be coming here again

Google
We visited for dinner with our 3 young girls. It really seemed more bar than restaurant. Wasn’t clear where we should sit until a kind patron alerted us to order at the bar. It really felt uninviting for kids and while we were there an offensive song came on with curse words. Felt meant to make us feel uncomfortable. Food was decent.

Google
Cozy neighborhood bar with incredible food. Italian sub rocks, and the Lemon Chicken Soup is a revelation! Don't be afraid to stock up on the best hot sauce around - Monty's - while you're here!

Yelp
Always a good time and a sure thing when you go. Love this place and my friend and I love going on a weekday to chill, grab a beer and enjoy the perfectly cooked pizza every time. I love a crunchy crust pizza. My slice has to stand on its own and not droop. Everyone, Steve gets it right. Thank you. Enjoy the casual local vibe, play pinball, or watch the game. Can't go wrong and the price is right. Thanks Pizza Villa.

Yelp
Great pizza! Comfy bar setting and very friendly service. Downtown Portland great place for pizza and sandwiches!

Yelp
A Portland classic spot. Great place to hang out for some beverages and pizza! Service is great, too.

Yelp
We ordered from Pizza Villa for #Yelpbignightin. We ordered 3 dozen wings Buffalo Garlic Thai Chili Which were ALL good and came with generous amounts of chunky blue cheese We also picked out a pepperoni and a mushroom pizza, which were solid. Note: pizzas at PV are 10 inch, so plan accordingly I also personally chose the chicken parm dinner with spaghetti. I ended up eating so many wings that some of us shared the parm the next day for lunch! We ordered over the phone and curbside pick up was a breeze! I saw on their FB page afterward that they had a few specials going including french onion soup, a favorite! May have to go back for that next time.

Yelp
Got some takeout tonight. The cook was awesome and super friendly packing up our food and adding in extra sauces. The bartender that cashed me out was also great. The food was really good. As a local that lives in the area, I'm excited to go back, maybe next time for dine in with my family.

Yelp
It's a given with Portland you will have to find side street parking most of the time. They do have an open 30-minute spot right out front, so you can run in and out for takeout. They also have a very small parking lot in the back of the building. That's if they dont have the picnic tables set up out back during the summer time. We came here on a Monday afternoon, so it was a slow day inside the restaurant. We were greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in by the friendly bartender. Our food came out within 15min from ordering. The cook served us it freshly hot out of the oven right away. The pizza was cooked perfectly, no burnt crust / underside. It had such a good mixture amount of toppings and a crunch to it still. The prices are very reasonable too. The only thing I'd say to watch out for is the website online. The menu doesn't exactly match up with the menu inside. Examples: They didn't have the broccoli bites as an app on the menu inside. Also, the menu online doesn't have the specialty pizza section like they did on the menu inside.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere, the bartenders and servers were super nice, and the pizza was DELICIOUS! Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
If you want chill if you want old fashioned if you want that feeling that you've been here 100 times, even if it's the first time that's Pizza Villa. The staff, the owner I believe, was gregarious and outgoing. The kitchen staff a Portland High lacross player and a young lady who served, equally pleasant. Just a wonderful experience in an old-fashioned bar. Remind me of being a kid tagging along with my father and uncles.
google avatar

Amber B.

Yelp
Would give zero stars if I could, visiting from NYC and I know this is a local spot and every pub has their regulars, but it's totally unacceptable to over serve people and let them drunkenly shove into and stumble into people with no consequences. Didn't even get a chance to have a drink or food because of the drunk and disorderlies at the bar. Would avoid in the future.

Yelp
PERFECTION Best Pizza in Portland, Maine. Great service, prices and drinks! Im picky and ask for well done everytime, they never forget:)
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
I love Pizza Villa! They really make the best pizzas! The salads are great as well! The staff is friendly and they are really a huge part of the whole Villa experience. You can pay with a card on the restaurant side. The bar side of the Villa is definitely a "regulars" bar. The atmosphere is always fun and you can get $5 pitchers.

Yelp
Ordered tonight and greatly unsatisfied. First the menu online didn't stay the correct prices I mean online is stated 795 for a cheese $9.95 for three topping but yet when we picked up our pizza we paid $28 for the two small size pizzas. Greatly unsatisfied with how the server bartender helped with the question about the price and really not the best pizza I agree probably the hospital has better tasting Pizza than this was tonight

Yelp
This location was right across the street from where my husband and I were staying. We ordered a cheese pizza and chicken wings. The staff was friendly, and the food was ready at a reasonable time. The pizza was alright, not something I'd want to order again. Nothing special about it but still was decent enough to eat. My husband ate the chicken wings and he loved them! He got the original and was better than what we expected. I don't eat chicken that often, but I did try a bite and was very well flavored. Would be a place we'd go to again during our stay in Portland ME.

Yelp
The building doesn't look like a whole lot when you walk by but our hotel concierge told us it's pretty good. We popped in and they had super friendly and helpful staff. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan and I made my own pizza (chicken, feta, spinach, and garlic oil). Both were sooooo amazing. We even got a side of bacon cheese fries. I was expecting bacon bits and melted shredded cheese but I was surprised with actual bacon diced and a house made cheese sauce. Despite being short staffed they were so quick and accommodating. Would definitely go again and recommend to anybody visiting.

Yelp
Very low quality pizza, like frozen pizza is easier to digest. My boyfriend in the military who will eat pretty much anything and hates wasting couldn't even scarf it down. I'm not sure about service or environment because we had take out but it was not good at all.
google avatar

Yelp
Having passed by Pizza Villa so many times, was excited to finally try it. Others had said the ordering was a bit strange but it seemed to make sense. There were no seats when we got there but some opened up right when our order was called ready at the bar. I didn't realize how packed it would be on a random Saturday evening but it was! We ordered the garlic chicken special pizza for about 11 or 12 bucks and it was ready in about 20 minutes. Pizza was piping hot and delish. They measure about 10 inches in diameter so they're pretty big and enough to share between 2 people. People there are pretty no nonsense and I like it. It reminds me of former pizza hut sit in restaurants back in the 90s.

Bradley S.

Yelp
Don't leave reviews often, but this is a great spot. Highly recommend before or after a sea dogs game

Yelp
Confusing ordering system, and what to do with the used utensils and plates, but the pizza was OK. The house salad dressing was too vinegary for me though. They have a good selection of beer. On the bar side, the smokers are continually in and out the back door, creating a coldish draft every time the door opens, so sit on the dining side as opposed to the bar side. They have TVs playing everywhere but no closed captioning, so essentially not much to look at. They were all on sports channels. The decor is oak wood with antique signs and license plate, with a few scattered photos. Standard oak tables and smallish metal chairs are for seating. I found the chairs uncomfortable after about a half hour, which I think is a design to get the customer out sooner. The pizzas are all one size-9".

Yelp
This place is your typical quick pizza joint/sit down. It's connected to a bar that's off to the side. There's street parking outside and free after a certain hour. They only sell small personal pizzas, which is nice if you just want something quick to eat. I ordered pizza with bacon and mozzarella sticks. Pizza was alright. The bacon was a little salty. Good amount of cheese on the pizza and the crust was crispy! Mozzarella sticks are hard to mess up. That's being said they are pretty good. The cheese was stringy after eat bite, and the marinara sauce was delicious.

Yelp
This place is a local gem. Come in as an outsider and be welcomed by all!! The bartender Will is unreal and knows everyone by name!!! He makes you feel welcomed and safe. Food is above average and always a deal depending on the night .

Yelp
A no frills real "Locals" pub and side pizzeria - what a great combination - gave me a taste of Portland - Stella and PBR on Tap so I couldn't resist a PBR and a Shot of Tequila to honor a dear departed friend I lost recently. The pizzas are 10" and pretty good - thick soft crust and freshly made and brought to your table - I'll go again and try another pizza and maybe their wings too

Andrea B.

Yelp
This used to be my Favorite pizza EVER. Not anymore. Since the new owners bought it, the food quality is Dismal. The help is apathetic, unless they are people that worked here before and then they are good. I am so disappointed in my meal every time I cone here since the ownership change, I don't care if I ever come back, It's sad.
google avatar

Andrea A.

Yelp
Lovely customer service, run-of-the-mill food. We were burnt out on our last night of vacation and got two pizzas and a salad to eat in our hotel. The flavor and indifferent assembly left something to be desired, although the portions were just right.
google avatar

Meg T.

Yelp
Strange system of ordering, but it works. Upon walking in, you order your pizza at one of the two cash registers at the front. Pizzas are decently priced, crispy, but nothing special. Much tastier options in Portland, but, I think the concept of Pizza Villa is what keeps guests coming back. Then, you can walk to the other side of the building, which is a full bar and a decent amount of tables. Not a very large selection of beers. Asked for a menu, but never got it. Cash only at the bar, but the pizza side takes cards. Strange? The pricing and feel of this place is very 90s, so I get the hype it has for some. But nothing special to me that I would keep coming back for, besides possibly for some cheap beers and a football game.
google avatar

Yelp
Greasy wet hard to eat, microwave bacon. And I had a shirt stolen. Go to ottos best pizza around. Even the Mainemed had better pizza
google avatar

Yelp
This is the type of place that should be excused from Yelp reviews, and I mean that in the best way possible. It has that old timeless feel to it that is just so damn comforting. I grew up in New England going to places like Pizza Villa with my Dad. Small 10" bar pizzas (let's be honest the perfect "personal" size), cheap strong drinks, salt of the earth bartenders, neon signs, and the Sox on multiple televisions. Yes it's kinda annoying you have to order the pizza on one side and drinks on the other. YES, it's even more annoying the food can be payed by a card while the bar is cash only. It's all confusing and weird and I love it. It's a slice of true Portland, pun fully intended. Go and enjoy!

Yelp
It was our first day in Portland and we had literally just dropped off our stuff at our hotel across the street. We were hungry and looking for something close by to eat. The guys at the front desk recommended Pizza Villa and we strolled over for some surprisingly delicious food! I loved how friendly the guy working there was (hey, we're from NYC!) and it added to a very pleasant lunch of haddock chowder (wow! Who knew a pizza place could make it real good?) and an olive pie. Their pie's are 10 inches so that helped us devour it since our appetites can go either way (sometimes our eyes are bigger than our stomaches) so this was the perfect size really. And I must repeat since we're from NYC, we're used to good pizza....and this is good pizza!! Definitely come by here if you're in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza Villa is a relic in Portland. Great place to have drinks before or after a Sea Dogs game. The prices are reasonable. The pizza are okay yet not fabulous. The locals have been coming to Pizza Villa forever so it's a great place to run into homeboys. You can purchase your pizza using a card yet have to pay cash for your drinks at the bar, which is on the other side of the venue. Pizza Villa is dark and has a seedy feel but don't that its aesthetic dissuade you from giving them a try.

John B.

Yelp
Great pizza! And especially since they are directly across the street from our hotel. I wish the bar side was open, but during this time.. well, you know.. Two thumbs up.

Brian W.

Yelp
This place is an old school dive with strong pours and decent pizza. What's not to like?
google avatar

Tom D.

Yelp
I've stopped in here a couple of times. Once before a Sea Dogs baseball game (that was rained out). We spent many hours here with friends and enjoyed the small pitcher beer specials. Awesome! We had their pizza and everything was great. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, good prices. The duck sausage pizza was amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
We were staying staying at a hotel across the street and decided to have dinner at Pizza Villa. I'm so glad we did. Great little local place with good music and a good vibe. You can eat in the diner area or pop into the bar area. Both are welcoming. My hubby had the pizza and I had the chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad was delicious and so tender. It melted in your mouth. My husband said his pizza was great. We are from Texas on vacation but if we're ever back this way I would stop again.
google avatar

Karen G.

Yelp
A real pizza joint-pizza is thin and cooked to order . Baked chicken on the salads is fresh-not rubbery. The lemon chicken soup is just like any Greek mother would make! Yummy!!!

Thomas L.

Yelp
I have been coming here for decades to get what I believe is the best single size pizza in town. The new owners have done well to keep the brothers' old recipes the same while adding a few really good new items. Tom L

Yelp
I was at house party nearby where I didn't know many and I needed a break from the action so I took a walk to pizza villa for a break. Cash only bar, but the kitchen stays open as long as the bar is. They have strong draft beer like monkeyfist and hsa for decent prices. I sat down and was very surprised to see the winter x games on 2 of about 4 big screen TVs around the bar's dining room. I got there just in time for the snowboard big air final jam session. I'm a big fan, esp of this event, and I hadn't even realized the x games were airing. I looked around and was surprised to see other patrons as enthralled or moreso than I at the fringe sport on at the sports bar. It reminded me of the time I watched dressage at taco Escobar. I've had the chicken garlic pizza and it was good.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
This establishment was part pizza shop and dove bar. I loved it! Pizza come is 10" pies that are an ample portion for one person. The flavor was nice and so were the variety of toppings. What's impressed me was the fully stocked bar. The Greek salad my wife and I split was fresh and we'll topped with olives, tomatoes, green peppers and feta cheese. I will defiantly be back for a causal date night or for a beer after work.
google avatar

Gail T.

Yelp
Shared 3 pizzas with the family tonight, garlic chicken, sausage and mushroom. Shipyard Applehead on tap. The place was packed , but the service was still great.

R. P.

Yelp
I bought a pizza tuesday or wednesday night, it is now sunday and I still have diarrhea because they don't wash their hands. I thought the pizza was great but, it's just not worth the pain. Think twice before you eat here.
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
Old school, in a good way! All four of us loved our pizzas.
google avatar

Leighe Ann R.

Yelp
Great size pizza a little pricey, but we're used to pies of the same size being around $5. Also not the best sauce, but didn't really expect to find authentic pizza in Maine. Really friendly staff though. I will be back next greyhound trip north.

Adam B.

Yelp
I'm sorry but baked mozzarella sticks is a huge NO in my book! The pizza is okay, I like having cheap beers in the bar though
google avatar

Kaitlyn C.

Yelp
Just ok. The worker at the counter wasn't really pleasant at all. The pizza tasted microwaved, Italian sub was ok (on a hot dog roll which was interesting) & the "wings of fire" weren't hot at all. The carrots that came with it weren't even peeled. The bar in the next room was a cool space & is cash only.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
Pizza Villa is conveniently located at the end of Congress St., very handy if you are staying at the LaQuinta hotel (as I was). They only serve 10 inch pizzas, which are made to order. The pizza was pretty good-- I got hamburg and mushroom and my dad ordered hamburg and onion-- and the toppings were plentiful, the sauce tasty and not over-abundant. The crust had a crispness to it that was pleasant. Overall, decent pizza, and not a bad price!

Mary F.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I usually just do take-out but on Easter, we decided to change things up and dine in. I was pleasantly surprised on how our service was considering we just ordered down at the bar. The employee (maybe manager?) Mike, checked on our table a couple times to make sure we had refills on the soda and beer, brought napkins over for us, and of course, to see how we were enjoying everything. This is the kind of service I look for when I go out, especially when the employees have a genuine smile on their face! Pizza and jalapeño poppers are always on point. Thank you Pizza Villa!

Valerie D.

Yelp
This place is so great. Dive bar feeling, regulars, great staff, and the pizza is amazing. Can't go wrong here
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
Best pizza ever! I take pizza seriously so I don't make that statement lightly. I've lived and visited many cities including NY and Chicago and this was the best . One size only, many different toppings, conveniently attached to full bar, very friendly and clean. Your pizza is living on in my dreams.
google avatar

Steph G.

Yelp
Pizza Villa has two sections. One area is just a regular pizza joint with your average greasy pizza and the other side is a large bar. There are board games and a pinball machine. Smaller tables and regular bar seating. There were quite a few people there for a Tuesday night. Ample parking around this area. I had the mozzarella sticks and I wasn't crazy about them. They weren't well done but I'm sure if I asked them to fry them longer they would have been better. However, I heard that the pizza here is great from multiple people.
google avatar

Doug E.

Yelp
Good "neighborhood joint" kind of New England pizza place. Order at the counter, but definitely dine in the tavern, unless you have kids along. Counter side is pretty uninspiring, but the tavern has funny regulars and good music and atmosphere; much better for enjoying a good pizza or some pasta. If we lived nearby, this'd be a regular, for us.

Yelp
I was told to eat this Pizza by a friend who swears by it. I was drunk when I ate here and cant recall all the details, but I went to bed happy! Im from NY and consider myself a Pizza expert so if it was bad I would have woke up pissed! On a side note Im returning back this weekend to eat here sober! They do serve drunk people so thats a plus!
