Pizza wizard is great! One of my favorite pizza places to go to when visiting Rochester! The dough is cooked to perfection, with a crisp bite for the crust! The sauce is out of this world and it’s extremely filling! Had this with some wings and had an amazing experience! Love this place and would recommend this to anyone!

Google
The Sum Buck pizza is amazing! The crust is divine. The kale wasn't bitter and the bacon wasn't too salty. The ricotta cream was really pleasant. I personally wouldn't get the shwarma dry rub again because it was a little stronger than I expected. But I'm sure their other wing flavors are good. The actual chicken tasted good.

Google
Great atmosphere, regular pizza is delicious. The vegan aioli sauce was delicious, the vegan pizza was mediocre, wet and lacked seasoning. I love pizza wizard the vegan pizza could use a bit more TLC maybe some garlic onion powder and sea salt. I would reccomend their non vegan items. The bread is absolutely delicious and buttery

Google
Absolutely the best pizza I’ve ever had. I actually prefer just the original roni because it’s soooooo delicious and a classic but it’s all good there. You’ll be wanting more after you try it! If you can snag a chocolate chip cookie, they are worth having too!

Google
I love pizza and since pizza wizard was voted number one I need to check out the hype. It didn’t disappoint it IS one of the best pizzas I’ve tasted in a long time. The sauce is very flavorful and the chunks of artichokes & mushroom…A#1. My pizza which was the thin slice option had mushroom, artichokes, sausage, chicken, and garlic all on red sauce base. I also tried the wings medium. The wings were meaty and well sauced. No blue cheese or ranch included which was a little disappointing. Over all I’ll be trying some more combinations. And also their square pizzas.

Google
I found this hole in the wall while Doordashing for others. It's a bit off the restaurant path, but WELL worth going to. D-elicious! Deep dish pizzas in NY, and they are done right! I love their twist of putting the sauce on top as it keeps the yummy bread from getting soggy. Their red sauce, btw, is amazing. I'm pretty sure it could go on anything alone, but when added to their fresh ingredients, it is perfection. Try them out if you haven't. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch as she wanted to try a new pizza place. This place is cool. It has the high ceilings and the exposed duct work and feels comfortable. We went to the counter and saw the special. 2 slices and a soda (or Genny) for 8.50. Sounds perfect to try a place out. I ordered 2 pepperoni sausage and hot peppers slices and my wife ordered a pepperoni sausage and bacon slice and a garlic ricotta slice. You pay, they give you a number to put on your table, they heat up the slices an and bring them to your table. In about 3-5 minutes you have your slices. These are about as good as deep dish get. The outside was crispy with the “burnt cheese” on the outside crusts with the sauce on top of the pizza. Crispy outside, tender inside, and left me wanting another slice. I fought of that urge but I pondered it for some time. They have an area in the back with a cooler and cups for water and things like extra Parmesan cheese and hot sauce if you desire it. I like hot sauces and tried the Zebs St Louis style and it was awesome. Like a combination of a slightly spicy Jamaican Jerk seasoning. I ordered some on Amazon after I tried it. We left saying that was good pizza and next time we will order a whole pie and try it steaming hot out of the oven!

This place is amazing. I usually prefer a new york style slice but these guys blew my mind . We drove over an hour to try these guys and we will most definitely be back.

Yelp
Food was timely and hot, ambiance is a friendly backyard/garage door local business vibe. Counter service for to-go, in person dining you get a number with your order and they come find you. We did the create your own pizza. Definitely adding this to go to places around town!

Yelp
Wasn't my first time here but by far my favorite experience and pizza! I had the big dodge ram. The pizza sauce was so flavorful. The cheese snd meat covered the whole pizza, not a spot missed! We also got a side of house made ranch, let me say I do not like ranch nearly ever. But this ranch almost made me contemplate changing my stance Staff was enthusiastic about pizza and other menu creations and was willing to give recommendations. While I didn't eat in the restaurant this time, on the other occasions when I have I have enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant.

Yelp
Why does pizza wizard own my soul and stomach? Because they're too goddamn good at their jobs. Incredible pies. Just innovative flavors and pillowy dough. Got mother's gulch which was creamy and the zinger is a classic spicy mama Mia. Dipping sauces got me in a choke hold. That spicy ranch be spicy but gud. Service is grade A top notch always. Ambiance is exactly what you'd want if you wanted strange memorabilia and classic booths with those metal napkin containers to keep everybody safe. Lunch special is a steal of a deal. 10/10 pizza. 15/10 stickers. Will never not stop at pizza wizard when I'm in the mustard city. Please never close.

Yelp
The pizza was absolutely amazing. I especially liked the Sum Buck with kale. Not bitter at all! The wings were ok. I think I should have gotten a different flavor. That's on me though. I can't wait to order again.

Yelp
Grabbed a pizza and 10 hot wings from Pizza Wizard--both were great. Wings had a solid kick and were cooked just right. The pizza (Big Dodge Ram) was hot, cheesy, and super satisfying. Fast service too. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This place knows how to make pizza that everyone likes. Very warm people who are patient and understanding. Love their deals and lunch menu options. Everything about them is absolutely brilliant. The seating area is pretty great too although many people prefer takeout. Their drinks most often pair well with the pizza you order. I look forward to seeing what new things they can do with pizza and add to their menu!

Yelp
Pretty fire. I feel like this is what Pizza Hut tries really hard to be and fails. The pizzas come as 4 slices and they are thick and fluffy. I was full from 2 slices. The crust is super crisp, the sauce on top is new to my New York-mind. I got the original Roni and my mom had the rooty toot. The original Roni was the perfect ratio of cheese to sauce to pep. The sauce was tangy but balanced. The pepperonis had a nice little char to them that gave it even more texture. Part of me wishes this was drizzled with honey like a beesting pizza--I just know those flavors would mesh together incredibly. The pizza was super crispy throughout; I feel like this can be challenging with a thick crust which can sometimes be doughy inside. But pizza wizard does a great job. As for the rooty toot, I felt like the sauce was a little bit too tangy for my taste. The sausage was good though. The restaurant itself wasn't packed on a Friday night but they had a ton of takeout orders. It did take about 20 minutes to get our pizza which is what we were told. Will be coming back to try their other pies!

Yelp
Amazing food! The pizza was super fresh and delicious, had a great crust and fluffy dough with an amazing cheese pull. The wings were surprisingly crispy and not heavily breaded. The seasoning was a little bit lacking for something that is supposed to be spicy but the texture makes up for it. The only thing to note about this place is that parking can be a little weird, there are only 2 spots for people dining in and a couple for pick up.
google avatar

Yelp
Unique flavors and warm pizza. What else can you ask for? We stopped here after visiting the museum of play. It's not very farm from it. Parking was not great, but we found a spot. I really liked my general tso pizza. I feel like it was more Detroit style. We went here with an 17 month old who would not touch the cheese pizza. He loves pizza, so that was a little strange. Was it an off day? Or was it that the pizza is too fancy for him? Either way, I would recommend stopping by to try the unique pizza flavors.

Yelp
Idk if I'll be a friend or foe when I say the crust reminded me a lil of pizza hut. The toppings sure don't they were delicious, and unique. The service was quick, the place was clean and the vibe was chill. I loved the snippets of humor in their homemade signs. I thought the price point was spot on.
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
The hype is real, folks. I don't know what these people do to make their pizza so deliciously crispy, but it's the best. Two slices and a drink for $8.50 is a perfect weekday lunch (this includes a Genny if you desire). The crust is light and airy yet substantial, the cheese and toppings are fresh. As with any pizza place, they do a significant takeout business but you can eat in as well. Parking is weird and there are 1-2 spots available in front of the restaurant. I usually try to street park as the little lots with signs make me nervous about being towed.
google avatar

Brenda O.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while. Me and 2 of my friends decided to dine in. Parking is limited. I liked the place and it's decor. It was very clean. The people were friendly and service was quick. I ordered the Roughneck pizza which came with sausage, bacon, pepperoni, red sauce. I added banana peppers and onion. Beware the sausage is spicy. I liked it but my friend can't handle spice and she was struggling. They should warn people that it's spicy or have a mild sausage option. The crust was thick and very crispy . I like thick pizza over thin. I feel that I would of preferred the sauce on the dough instead of the toppings going on first and then the sauce last. Cool concept though. The wing were good. I could of used more sauce but overall everything was good.

Yelp
Outstanding pizza spot. Delicious pie, friendly service. I look forward to coming back

Yelp
Can I give more than 5 stars? This place causes me to dream of their pizza, wings, and salads. Easily our family's favorite pizza spot. You can't beat the Wizard.

Yelp
What a great place! The pizza is amazing and the salad and dressing was a my favorite. Can't wait to go back. Two parking spaces in front and a few more in the side. Great service and they even had Otherhalf beer! Can't wait to go back

Yelp
First timer: Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and customers (recommendations from tables on either side of us). We ordered New Number One Salad (HUGE - it feed 4), Zigger Pizza and WGC. Yum, Yum Staff was attentive, food was hot and delivered with a smile. We plan a return visit. AMP/DAP

Yelp
Quick, delicious. Crust is heavenly. My first time getting Detroit style pizza and I wasn't disappointed. Next time I'd forego the sausage, but overall delicious.
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
Yum yum yum!! I finally got to try this place and I was not disappointed. My fiancé and I got the #1 salad (veggie mix with vinaigrette) and the My Brother Randy pizza. The salad came out on a pizza platter and was probably enough for 3 people but we devoured it. The pizza was of course the highlight of the meal and absolutely delicious. At that point we could only eat one slice each since they are so thick but I wish I could have eaten more. The crust was thick but wasn't too bready and it had a nice crunch to it. I'm already thinking about when I can go back next. If you are a pizza lover, you have to check this place out.
google avatar

Andrew D.

Yelp
I'm no expert on Detroit-style but if this is faithful example then count me in. They serve single pan pizzas which are billed as "enough for one person" - my college student son and I each finished half of ours, so I'd say two people could split one if they were hungry. The pizzas came out piping hot, and there was a wonderful gristly cheesy coating on the outside of the crust - my kid got a plain cheese but I got pepperoni with banana peppers and it was money. Not much to say in terms of ambiance and service, but the patio outside was nice on a September evening.
google avatar

Hayley P.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. Their lunch special was a great deal with 2 slices of your choosing and a drink for $8.50! I ordered two of the original roni slices and they hit the spot. Cheesy, saucy and absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back!

Riley J.

Yelp
have been hearing about how good this place was and I was not disappointed at all! I got a gluten free pepperoni pizza and it was the fluffiest pizza I've ever had. The food came out fast and the staff were very nice and approachable. Will definitely be coming here again and recommending it to my friends.
google avatar

Max K.

Yelp
Phenomenal garlic bread! So lusciously cheesy and garlicky. Tried their pepperoni pizza, the original 'roni. It was pretty good but was beaten out by the garlic bread. The pizza had good flavor but is also quite heavy. It's delicious but it's a lot, definitely has the potential to give you a stomach ache if you don't know when to stop :P
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday night - there's a large indoor space with ample seating. Has an industrial vibe. Not crowded (seems to have a lot of takeout orders). I made my own pizza (tomato sauce, ricotta, arugula, onion, and hot honey drizzle). It took about 10-15 minutes for it to come out. It was AMAZING. The crust is very thick but LIGHT (not heavy) on the inside, and it has a very crunchy, delicious burnt cheese exterior. The tomato sauce was so flavorful and fresh. I was actually stunned and speechless... couldn't function as a human being until I finished the third slice. GO HERE. It'll change your life.

Yelp
Stopped in very early on a Saturday morning. We were the only ones in the shop. They had a nice selection of slices to choose from but we wanted to get our own pie. Our food was made and ready in about 15 minutes. The staff brought the food out to us. We absolutely loved our meal! The wings are crispy and have such a tasty hot sauce. Easily some of my favorite wings in Rochester. The pizza was perfect. I can see why this was voted best pizza in the CITY magazine. Nothing but good things to say about our visit. The bathroom was very clean. The retro arcade games on site were a nice touch.

Yelp
We got the chicken bacon ranch & kale pizza. I don't remember what it was called on the menu. It was cooked perfectly. Deep dish kinda which was a surprise, a nice fluffy crust and crispy edges. We came after 5:30pm so it was pretty busy. Building inside is clean and surprisingly fairly quiet that day. Great place. I plan on coming back to try a regular cheese pizza!

Abbey P.

Yelp
The service was sub-par and the prices were outrageous. I went there for the first time with one of the "Wives of the Wiz." When we arrived, the line was extremely long and was out the door. We waited for quite some time to even get inside. Once we got inside, the space was EXTREMELY small consisting a platform with 3-4 steps and 3 stovetops. That's it. My friend ordered before me and left. I arrived at the top of the platform only to see 3 pans. 1 with a pizza topped with full asparagus spears. 1 with a dish I couldn't make out. 1 with whole chickens in it. I decided to try the chicken and was asked what size I wanted. Because it was just me eating, I chose to go with the chicken the size of my fist (was it a baby chick? I'm unsure). Once plated, I noticed the price of the chicken dish..........IT WAS $236. Absolutely outrageous. I asked to cancel my chicken order and order the asparagus mountain pizza instead. The man serving me had little to no emotion and wasn't welcoming at all. It was at this point I woke up from my dream and said to myself, "I hope Pizza Wizard is better than that in real life." Hoping to give a it a real chance soon!

Yelp
this is the best square pizza ive ever had. i need this in my life at least weekly and i live 6 hours away! help!

Yelp
There is a sign on the building but it's set back from the street. Parking is hard in this area. It's next to Stuarts Spices. There is room for two cars in front but it's extremely hard to get out so watch yourself. I placed an online order for 1pm pickup and it was ready when we got there. We ordered a scilian sq, a thin crust meat lovers type and some wings. There were only 3 of us at home and this order was in the $50 range. Definitely pricey and not doable when our entire family is home when we can get 2-3 pizzas elsewhere for that price. The wings were $12 for an order of 8. But they were cooked well. But def pricey!

Yelp
First time at Pizza Wizard and it was GREAT! My son works nearby and recommended we join him for lunch. Went in at 12:10 on a Thursday, a busy time. Greeted so kindly, not feeling rushed, ordered, and our delicious pizza was out in about 5 minutes, maybe even less. Like an upscale Pizza Hut style pizza, with a nice deep dish crispy crust. Tasty sauce! We had slices of garlic, cheese, pepperoni, and a hot pepper one, too. Fantastic canned pop!!! (Not a fan of fountains). We totally enjoyed our lunch and will be back for sure! I'd attach a photo, but there was none left, hahaha!

Yelp
We dined in here for the first time. The food and service were great!! We started with the wings, barbecue sauce. It was sweet and tangy. The #1 Best salad without croutons was a great blend of cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, and salad varieties. I believe the dressing was a banana pepper vinaigrette. Yummy!! The air quality index pizza was just delicious! The first was light and fluffy, which isn't typical for gluten-free crust. The pizza had broccoli rabe, artichoke, tomatoes, pesto, and olive oil. I got it without cheese. My husband had the meatmans pizza without cheese on a gluten-free crust. He really liked it. They also had some gluten-free desserts - a butter tart and a mini lemon Bundt cake. The cake wasn't as moist as it would like, but had good flavor. The tart was yummy. It had raisins in it and was very flavorful. They have several tables for seating. You clean up after yourself and bring your trash and trays to discard over by the utensils, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and oregano. The staff was amazing!! This will definitely be our pizza go to in the ROC!

Yelp
Incredible gluten free crust!! I was so impressed by the gf crust! It is light, fluffy, and sooooooo delicious! I could just eat the crust like bread, forget the toppings! I am not sure how they do it, but it was such a wonderful surprise. A friend commented that the gf crust is so good it's hard to tell the difference between gf and non gf. We ordered three different varieties (cheese, veggie, and meat) all of which were delicious. The crust is more Chicago style ( which is not my preferred) but the fact that it was so light and fluffy with structure just blew my mind. I'm going to be recommending this place all day long!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
I'm usually a thin crust kinda guy but holy cow was this pizza amazing! Thick but light crust, crispy, cheesy, just spectacular! We had a cheese and pepperoni and a chicken pesto and both were perfect. We will be back! It was worth the hour drive!
google avatar

Jaiya A.

Yelp
The pizza was really good. The packaging is adorable. The wings were nothing to write home about at all and that is what they look like when you ask for them to be fried hard. Their homemade ranch was delicious though the spicy one was amazing!
google avatar

Lisa K.

Yelp
This place has so many things gluten-free. I'm so impressed. The service was absolutely wonderful quick and easy order food and sit down.

Karen W.

Yelp
Best pizza. Put the hot honey on everything! I found this place searching the map app for pizza and keep coming back.
google avatar

Edgar M.

Yelp
Hands down the best pizza I've ever had. From now on I won't make a trip to Rochester without stopping off here.

Andrea B.

Yelp
A regular stop for my husband and kids. Really love the modern nostalgic vibes... the pizza is even better. It's like your childhood "pizza hut" crust elevated with exceptional recipes, baking, and ingredients. A salty crunch, followed by a soft, bready interior. (We fight over the pieces with the charred corners.) Bonus: The staff is always sweet to the kids.

Yelp
Oh Pizza Wizard, self-deprecating, hilarious, creative, inclusive, delicious, perfection. My hands down fave pizza place in Rochester! I have been eating at Pizza Wizard since they opened, and pretty much always get the same thing: a gluten-free, vegan square with mushrooms and broccoli rabe. The square is so large I get 4 servings out of one pie, and it's just as good warmed up the next day as when I get it fresh. It's the perfect mix of crispy, salty, garlicky, savory and is soooo satisfying! If you've never been before, you can order online and customize your pie and pick it up to eat at home, or you can go inside, order and eat there. We do both depending on what else we have going on. In terms of what they offer, they have a limited menu of ingredients you can add to your pie (think peppers, onions, meats), but they are always adding new things, and coming soon they will have even more vegan options. And they also have wings, tenders and salads, and offer daily special pies. Service is fast and friendly, and when we dine in, I always love looking at their merch, which includes t-shirts that highlight the bad reviews they've received, which I find hilarious. A restaurant with great food that doesn't take itself too seriously. LOVE IT. Parking is a little bit tricky, and sometimes folks don't park very well in the lot that's directly in front, so take care when parking and walking there. The lot directly in front of their place is small and there's also street parking.
google avatar

Andrew A.

Yelp
I will have to return to give this place a proper review. Lots of people have recommended this place, but when I went recently on a Friday night for a slice for dinner, they said that they do not sell slices. As one person, I didn't need an entire pie - and they said it would be a 45 minute for one. Guess I'll return another time when I have a friend or two to share a whole pizza with. For now, one star for not offering slices.
google avatar

Robin W.

Yelp
The food is good, but ordering blows. Frequently have to wait a lot longer than the stated pick up time. They will also send you promo codes that do not work, last time I ordered from them online they charged my card twice and the order didn't even go through.
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Lots of great topping options! The pizza was hot and crispy. The edges were golden and the dough was soft and chewy. The wings were also tasty! Would recommend for a Detroit style pizza!

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Best pizza on the East Coast. I love their Detroit style square pie and their desserts are yummy. The staff wears T-shirts with their bad yelp reviews. Their humor is unhinged.
google avatar

Arvid Y.

Yelp
My first time having Detroit style pizza. It reminds me of Sicilian pizza, with thick doughy and slightly crunch crust. It's a little more difficult to eat (I used a knife & fork), but it was amazing taste-wise. I enjoyed the sweet tanginess and spicy kick of their red sauce. I wished their had more delivery options, but otherwise I'd go back in a heartbeat. Both their 'Roni Square and Loaded fries were good.

Riley B.

Yelp
Love this place but every single time we order the seitan wings (10 pc) they only give us 8 or 9 pc. We have been a loyal customer for almost 6 months too.
google avatar

Denise J.

Yelp
Serendipitously happened upon this little spot when looking for a place to tun my car around. Ordered a "Build your own square" with 4 custom pieces of deep dish pizza. Their sauce is not acidic at all and slightly sweet. The crust is reminiscent of the buttery Pizza Hut crust of my childhood and I mean that in the best way I promise! Quite a few unique toppings to choose from. Food came out fast and was obviously fresh and great quality. Super satisfying & rich slices made it well worth $15 is cost. Perfect pizza to bring on a picnic!

Jimmy T.

Yelp
Consistently delicious. Unique Detroit style pizza that has the perfect softness and crunch balance. Though I'm not a fan of selling wings in only 8 increments, the flavors they offer taste so good they're a must every time I order.
google avatar

Karen S.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place but then I went gluten-free and thought that I wouldn't be able to. I discovered they have gf pizza and had to try! Let me just tell you that I didn't feel like I was missing out at all! I actually questioned how this pizza could be gf because it looked so good and tasted so good! My cousin had a piece of my pizza and said she never would have known it was gf. I also got the "Best Salad " which was very good too. I thought that for $10 it better be good and it sure was. This place is definitely a must!
google avatar

Jill F.

Yelp
Delicious pizza! The crust is crispy and chewy and just under the toppings is soft and fluffy. Most thick crust pizza is too floury and dry for me but this was perfection. The edges have a thin layer of crispy cheese on it, I thought it might be too much cheese or taste burnt but it wasn't. Toppings are high quality and plentiful. We ordered to go but saw plenty of seating inside so we bought drinks and ate there A few tiny negatives, but I won't take away a star because the pizza is just that tasty. And I don't even really like pizza that much. 1 Parking is atrocious. I couldn't even see a place to park on the street, we tried 3 different spots and moved before we realized there are 3 spots to the left of the door. But then we got semi blocked in by a curb. I would risk a ticket for this pizza however. (This could be a me problem, I'd look more carefully for street parking next time.) 2 Order directly from their website. If you order from Google it shows you 5 different choices for who to use. If you notice "the business prefers" one, great. Semi confusing for an old lady like me. 3 Apparently I'm too slow. Before I ordered it said 25-30 minutes. Once I click submit order I got a popup. "There was an error placing your order! Your order time is no longer available. The new time for your order is 40 minutes." 40 minutes was fine so I double checked my email to make sure it really didn't go through, then I clicked submit order. Well I took too long lmao so I got another popup "There was an error placing your order! Your order time is no longer available. The new time for your order is 25 minutes." So I clicked that button immediately and it went through. But I wasn't entirely sure that I hadn't just spent $150 on 9 boxes of pizza. Spoiler - I did not. Long story short - go to Pizza Wizard.

Yelp
Amazing Detroit style pie. Super fresh and delicious! Worth the slightly high price per pie. However, stay away from the wings. Undercooked and slimy. Pizza Wizard!, Wing Acolyte :/
