Food Terminal Is Opening a Second Location on Marietta Street in Westside, Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"A Neapolitan pizzeria owned by Giulio Adriani whose Westside and Toco Hill shopping center locations were placed up for sale in November so the owner could 'focus on growing another region of the country.' The Westside storefront on Marietta Street at the Brickworks has shuttered, creating the vacancy that the incoming in-town restaurant is slated to fill." - Beth McKibben

I really want to like this pizza but I can’t. I understand teach his/ her own. This is far from what one could consider as thin crust pizza. No way. The dough was very chewy and not very tasty. I rarely put any pizza down but it is on the disappointing side. If I did not have a coupon I would have not bothered. The app was a bit clunky too and would not allow me to add the coupon. With 1 topping not close to being worth $25.

Warning: not GF safe. We really wanted to like this place. We told the waiter that multiple members of our party had celiac, and even though it was clearly written on the ticket that there were gluten allergies , both my wife and father-in-law were given pasta that had gluten contact. We happened to see a piece of spaghetti in the bowl of GF pasta with broccoli halfway through eating it. It turns out the cooks blanched the broccoli in the normal pasta cooking water. They apologized, offered us a replacement (though at that point of the meal we didn’t accept), and took the pasta off the bill, but nothing else. This is no joke. It is a serious, dangerous lack of care that can make people extremely sick. For example, my wife is now dealing with pressure hives thanks to the carelessness of the restaurant. We know that a place like this cannot and does not guarantee freedom from cross-contamination—but this was a whole other level of negligence. Please train your staff on the importance of this.

Google
We ordered online a large pie half mushroom half Hawaiian and it was exquisite. The flavor was wonderful and the crisp crust added to the whole presentation. We also enjoyed a fresh salad, which was just the right amount for the three of us. Thank you so much for your quality foods that bless our table.!

The service is prompt and friendly. Our server, Jack, was professional and knowledgeable, had a good sense of humor. Food is always tasty and fresh. Accommodating when it comes to allergies. Love their lentil soup. A pleasant place to eat.

My clients picked this restaurant for lunch, and the order was called in. I got the specialty turkey sandwich. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked into a cute restaurant. The food wasn't ready yet and waited for about 10 more minutes. I paid and left. When I ate the sandwich, it was very good. Inloved the bread it came on. I had a good experience.

Google
This is a fine place with a beautiful atmosphere. The service it good, the interior design is almost perfect, and the food good. But my one big complaint is they claim to make brick oven pizza and it’s more like faux brick oven. First of all there is no break oven to speak of. It is actually a modern stainless steel oven in the shape of a brick oven and I believe it’s gas powered. That being said the pizza is definitely good but it’s really missing that natural flavor you get from a traditional brick oven set up. It tastes more like a standard American pie. On the bright side, the focaccia bread is pretty good and the Barata cheese is amazing.

Google
First off, let it be known that I ABSOLUTELY HATE pepperoni pizza! However, the Hot Honey Pepperoni is TOO GOOD FOR WORDS! They don't always have it, but when they do I can't leave without getting a slice, regardless what else I'm having. I've been working my way down the menu and there hasn't been a single meal that I would not have again. If you are a Broccoli Rabe connoisseur, they do it the right way (with a little bitterness). Just like the way my family does it in Naples Italy. Staff is super friendly. Everything is clean and spotless. Covered outside dining is great when it's not too hot or cold to be outdoors. I'm happy I'm local to this place because I would be burning through a lot of fuel if they weren't.

Yelp
I was introduced to this place, located in Midland Park, NJ by my daughter and son-in-law. The menu lists a lot of choices, so choosing a dish diners want to eat can be overwhelming. Since I am visiting, I don't get to eat here often, so when there's a choice between 2 pastas "houses", I have always chosen to eat here. The last time the family and I went and had our meals at the restaurant, I believe the service we had was good. Server was nice and polite, and the ambiance was nice enough for conversations. I do hate being seated right near the restroom though, so I requested sitting as far away as we can the last time we were there, and restaurant hostess had no problem accommodating us. The last few times, due to family's schedules, we ordered for pick up. Picking up was easy enough: go to the counter, give them your name, pay, and get your food. Because I hate paying for a fee by using my credit card, I always make sure to bring cash to pay my bill. I recently fell in love with their spaghetti with clam sauce (white option), so that was my order for today. With my first bite of this dish, substituting linguine for spaghetti, my mouth exploded with the excellent flavors of spices, used to cook the sauce, along with the chopped clam and the chewy linguine. This dish is prepared and served as a larger potion, so make sure you save your tummy for dish, if you choose to order one. My daughter loves her fettuccine rustica dish minus the peas and sun-dried tomatoes, which is a mom's approved dish. We also ordered a 12" personal pizza. The pizza here is not as good as their pasta dishes, so no additional comment. Overall, I truly enjoyed all of the dishes I have ordered from this location, and am looking forward to dine here again the next time I visit my daughter and family.

Yelp
I'm really disappointed, and I can't give this place more than a single star. We went with a group of 4 toddlers and 3 adults, hoping for a simple meal. We wanted to order a large pizza for the kids to share, but were told they don't do large pies for dine-in after 4:30 PM. We explained we just needed something for the kids and would be ordering entrees for the adults. The waitress barely acknowledged us and didn't offer any helpful alternatives. So, we ended up ordering individual personal pies for each kid, which she failed to mention or suggest the idea they could actually be shared (I mean look at my pictures, is a 2 year old gonna eat that size personal pie herself?) Just to clarify, we had a 2 year old, a 4 year old , a 5, and a 7 year old with us, so mostly preschool aged kids. No one told us that the personal pizzas would be big enough for the kids and we ended up bringing home essentially 3 full pizzas. On top of that, they charged my son for an adult seltzer ($3.50 for a seltzer seriously?), and kids' drinks (like apple juice or soda) were priced at $3.25 each. The service was also lacking. We literally didn't see our server after the initial order, with the exception of when the check came. They added a 20% gratuity automatically. Normally, I'd understand that for large groups, but the service didn't justify it at all which felt like they knew this and went with a set it and forget it mentality towards the table. As for the food, it was disappointing. The avocado chicken panini was greasy, drenched in butter, and the tomato slices were so thick, they could've been used as hockey pucks. The $21 goat cheese and beet salad was bland, and two of the three kids didn't even like the pizza sauce. In the end, we paid $135 for 4 toddlers and 2 adult entrees, which felt completely overpriced for the quality and service. Overall, this place lacks decent service, overpriced food, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Yelp
Pizza place. Pizza is in the name. Yet we come to find out they don't serve large pies for dining in after 4pm. Place is empty at 5:30 on a Friday and they wouldn't consider an exception for a family of 6 that came for a 5 year old's birthday. Waitress was nice.

Yelp
Terrible delivery service. The owner doesn't care if his driver is late or unable to communicate effectively. The driver called a second time for directions. We refused delivery.

Yelp
Never will go there again. I ordered a pickup their website said it was ready. I went they didn't know what I was talking about. They said it wasn't ready. All the time it was sitting on top of their oven. Terrible customer service. This was after a half hour. And there were other disgruntled customers. STAY AWAY!

Yelp
It gives me great pleasure to memorialize the fact that we've discontinued supporting Pizziaolo By Brothers in Midland Park. Nearly $30 for a pie with one half topping of one item is absolute robbery (particularly when you can't consistently make a good pie). We are so pleased with our decision to never support Pizziaolo again. NEXT!!!!!

Karen M.

Yelp
What happened? How do you send someone home with a pizza completely burned black on the bottom?

Yelp
Went for lunch. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The calamari was really crisp, the chicken parmesan entrée was generous, the salad was satisfying. The light coming in the window midday made the side dining area look very appealing. We will go back.

Yelp
By far, this is some of the worst "Italian" food we've ever had. A special order for the holiday, the lasagna was just not lasagna, no sauce, very little lasagna pasta. When I complained, the "owner" argued with me. I pointed out Pizzaiola's online policy and recorded message is "Your satisfaction is our primary concern." The stuffed mushrooms with crabmeat smelled incredibly fishy, tasted awful, it was all inedible. If I could give a 0 or -10 review, I would! The food was terrible, the owners attitude was awful. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME!!!. He actually said I was scamming him and I asked to what end why would I do that but he couldn't answer. Avoid this place at all cost. SAID I WAS SCAMMING HIM.

Yelp
The owner, was the most unprofessional! I wouldn't come back here if it was the last place on earth! We ordered a large pie and was given a personal pie. The waiter came back to us telling us, on Friday and Saturdays, dine in, they don't offer large pies?????? What? Has anyone EVER heard of this? So, we asked to prepare 2 pies then he, the owner said he will charge us for the waiters mistake and had such an awful attitude. No concern at all about our displeasure. Wow! The food was nothing to talk about.. the owner was the worse I have ever dealt with. I know almost all the owners and managers in most restaurants in Ridgewood and The area. Well I would NEVER do business with Pizzaialo by brothers ever!!

Yelp
This is a good spot for a good, quick meal. The portions are large and the service is quick. It's cute inside and they have a lot of options from pizza to pasta to salads, soups and sandwiches.

Yelp
I gave them another opportunity after a bad experience around a year ago. Ordered online as I was in a zoom and couldn't call the order in. Signed up as a new customer and ordered at 6:20pm. No response saying when order would be ready just that it was being prepared. Sent my adult kids to grab it at 6:50. A pizza and a panini couldn't take that long. My son goes in and gives my name and sandwich is ready but not the pizza- he waits 10 more minutes and nothing. 10 minutes later as the staff continue to chat behind the counter they find the pizza on top of the oven- had been ready for 20 minutes. Completely unacceptable and I am welcomed with a cold pizza 70 minutes after I order it. This was order number 1745160 Tony and would appreciate a refund for my cold pizza.

Yelp
Steamed salmon and asparagus ...delicious and fresh I felt a bit frustrated with a salad and quickly they were so kind and took it off of my bill but when I received the salmon and vegetable it was perfectly prepared and to my liking! I will say for a pizza place. It was a bit pricey however I'd definitely go back. Convenient and fresh, very clean environment and not just another pizza joint! I used to visit when I was a kid and this family has done a terrific job of keeping this family owned business alive for over 40 years... thanks brothers

Yelp
My family lives nearby and this is one of our go-to Italian restaurants. I wouldn't call it a typical "classy" Italian night out, more of a casual Italian style but the service does not disappoint and the food is always delicious. I'm typically eating chicken/buffalo chicken salads or the salmon from here, but the calamari and eggplant rollatini are great apps. I think the pricing is pretty on par with the area and the quality of food. Personally I don't go here often but the rest of my family loves dining here. I enjoy seeing a manager present and greeting the usuals (my family) when we visit and everyone is friendly. They bring a glass water jug to the table, know how my mom likes her cappuccino, and provide a great atmosphere. As a casual Italian restaurant, I think they have a great thing going for them!

Yelp
Went with my coworker after work, the place had quick service .. as soon as you walk in you are seated right away. The penne alla vodka sauce was very good.

Yelp
I got the asparagus and arugula salad. I've gotten this before and raved about it. This time I was disappointed as there was barely any asparagus or pancetta. I took a picture of the bottom too. That was as far as the pancetta went, there were only a small amount of tiny pieces and maybe one asparagus stalk worth of asparagus. It cost nearly $15 and was not worth the price as I felt I paid that much for a to-go container of arugula.

Yelp
What is it with Pizza places around here lately. Second reccomended place that the pizza was horrible. The locals talk about Pizzaiolo all the time and how great the pizza is. We had a few slices and they were horrible. So mushy, served cold and nothing even close to decent pizza. You would think being in business for so long they would have pizza making down. Well I now see all the negative reviews so it looks like its only a matter of time before this place is another quick burger joint. Maybe beast Burger will take over the space.

Yelp
I have never been so grossed out eating a meal at a restaurant. The restaurant itself looks really nice well decorated, the waitress was also very nice, however our meal the pizza was delicious and then my husband got his salad there was a clot of hair on his salad I wanted to throw up The four of us completely lost our appetite. It was also very embarrassing since We were with friends from out of town that wanted to try a New Jersey pizza such a disappointment. Be aware if you go to this place you might be eating hair ball , Yuck.

Michael P.

Yelp
Amazing food! Every time I go I get a Sicilian Slice! I recommend this place! The staff is very friendly!

Lori L.

Yelp
We were new customers to this restaurant and our experience was not a good one at all. We ordered pizza and salad (simple enough), when the pie was brought to our table it was a personal pie, not a regular size pie. We told the waiter it wasn't what we ordered and his reply was..."we don't offer regular size pie on the weekend due to alot of take out orders for regular size pies". He apologized for his mistake in not letting us know. We were VERY surprised and never heard of such a thing. Ok, that said we would order a 2nd personal pie but offered to only pay for 1. He got the owner involved and that's when things turned really bad. The owner said their policy stands and he wasn't willing to make any concession to 1st time (and now last time) customers. He never apologized for the misunderstanding either and shushed us out of the restaurant. My husband and I go out for dinner on a regular basis and NEVER encountered such poor business practice. It's a wonder they ARE in business. I strongly reccomend not visiting this establishment.

Yelp
Some months ago I posted a review based on my concerns over the changes in the food and the inexperienced servers. We didn't stop going there because we understood that they were still impacted by the remains of COVID and the shortage of experienced wait staff. We felt that things would eventually turn around. We were pleased to see that things improved a bit during our last two visits. My chicken parmigiana was plentiful, cheesy with great sauce. It was served hot. My wife's eggplant rollitini was back to the original three servings. Again it was plentiful, served hot and tasty. We were even wondering if they had a new chef. One of our guests had a pork chop on special; it was a generous portion surrounded by vegetables in a tasty sauce. The wait staff appeared to improve. One waitress has been there for several months and seems to be catching on. The other waitresses are a bit new to this country and are very pleasant; however, I found that you still have to ask for things silverware, cheese, water, etc. You also have to be very clear with your order because they are still getting used to the language. All in all, a welcome improvement.

Yelp
Had a great dining experience at Pizzaiolo recently. They have an impressive menu with a ton of options since there's something for everyone. They even offer gluten-free pasta and pizza crust. I opted to try their gluten-free margherita pizza, which also ended up being quite tasty as a cold leftover later that day. My boyfriend was adventurous in ordering a chicken parm pizza and loved it. The service was great and the decor/atmosphere had a very cool vibe. This is a place worth checking out for some different types of pizza.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! All decorated for Christmas! So cute! So safe & even have outdoor seating which is such a plus! So many places don't have outdoor seating! The food is unforgettable & they have THE BEST sweet potato fries, bruschetta, salad & coffee! Oh my gawdddd the coffeeeee is to die for! 10000/10000 recommend getting the gingerbread latte!

Mike K.

Yelp
I love this place. I come here once a week and the service is always outstanding as is the pizza. Management/owners are also very friendly. I live two towns over and there are two pizzerias on my block, but I bypass them and come straight here every time. Thank you Pizzaioli for a great experience each time.

Patty J.

Yelp
It's not the food. The food isn't bad, actually. It's the servers. One in particular, Jackie Jackie has served me along with family friends and coworkers on several occasions and I never complained. This review has been a long time coming. So here it is. Jackie, the server has an all around bad attitude. She has a very rude, dismissive, and abrupt demeanor. God forbid I have question or need to change or add to my order. She's very rude. You can tell she just hates her job. Not to mention, she takes her time getting to our table and has an attitude if there is an order error, an overcharge, or other discrepancy on our bill. I have to ask another server where she is half the time. She is demanding of a generous tip as if she has gone above and beyond. I will generously tip for good service. I was there once when the police were called by a customer over an argument about a tip. Unreal! If I go to have lunch there again, I'll ask for a different server. That's if I ever go back. She's lost this establishment a customer.
google avatar

Luz V.

Yelp
I ordered a pie for lunch and received the wrong pie, I called and they made a new one. The new pie was not made well there was blobs of minced jar garlic thrown all over the pie and barley any tomatoes and I ordered a bruschetta pie. Mind you I'm on my lunch break for work, it took my whole lunch to correct the issue to still not be satisfied. Not to mention they did not offer any credit or a free item for the inconvenience on their part. Not professional if you ask me. The food is expensive so the service should be a lot better than that.
google avatar

Janice M.

Yelp
Basic fare. Way over priced for the amounts and quality. Good location and like the decor. But so many other better food for the price in the area.

Mark M.

Yelp
Pizzaiolo is our weekly go to restaurant. The staff is amazing and the food is really good! Shout out to Yeimi who is amazing, so accommodating. She is professional and happy, energetic and great! All the employees there have been really wonderful! We would recommend Pizzaiolo any time!
google avatar

Yelp
I order delivery from here pretty frequently with my family and this is definitely one of our go-to's. The delivery takes awhile but they're always here when they say they're gonna be. My personal favorite is a well done pizza with extra sauce and mushroom and eggplant as toppings. I also recommend their gnocchi with either bolognese or pesto sauce, but I wouldn't suggest you save it as leftovers (the gnocchi turns into mush). We've ordered a bunch of other things here, but these are our favorites. The prices are a bit high for the quality of the food. Other than that, this place is pretty good.
google avatar

Ovis N.

Yelp
Zero stars if I could. As advertised via Yelp open until midnight. Came by at 10:10. With my family on a cold night. They didn't even open the door up to let me know they couldn't serve me. Very unacceptable and unprofessional by all means.
google avatar

Michaela B.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed in this location that used to be a favorite of mine. Ordered an Italian hero and received the saddest excuse for a sandwich of all time. Additionally, the croutons in my salad were the texture of day old bread and the lettuce extremely soggy. Most likely won't be returning unless the staff gets an attitude adjustment and the food improves.
google avatar

Lily T.

Yelp
Your local pizzaria. Went in and got a few slices to go. Girl behind the counter was droopy and got my order wrong. Everything tasted ok. Prices were decent.

Roxanne G.

Yelp
The absolute best food around! I travel from Essex County (40 minutes) to visit my sister in Midland Pk and always make Pizzaiolo our staple We have been loyal customers since the Brother's days and the quality of food is consistently excellent! Faves are the fabulous sausage/mushroom pie, Caesar salad- (their own dressing and homemade croutons), rice balls and the ultimate lasagna!! Have never found its equal... anywhere! Thank you, Anthony and staff!! We are loyal, always!

Yelp
Third time i have ordered from here, service is super slow and even when i picked up my order it was cold. Food is decent too, just cant wait and hour and half for food, plenty of other joints in the area to give a shot to.

Gary C.

Yelp
My wife I decided to try Pizzaiolo once more time. We are sorry we did! The place looks great and the people working there were all friendly. Once again the service is painfully slow. We were in the dinning room with 2 other tables with customers. It took at least 5 minutes to get a waitress and then no drinks until I asked a passing young man. Then another 15 min to get our food. The pizza was ok but the ravioli was like it was out of a can of chef boyardee !!!! There are plenty of workers but it seems they concentrate on take out orders. Sorry to say they are a good pizza place but no way can they run a Resturant!

Kathy O.

Yelp
I booked a party for 11am on a Saturday for "pizza with santa". When I booked party I told them it would be about 30 people - 3 & 4 year olds and their parents. And I told them Santa would be coming. They said no problem. I called a week before the party and told them it would be 21 kids and one or two parents per kid and Santa. They said no problem. A few days before I stopped in and spoke to the night manager in person and again told them what to expect. Again, they said no problem. The day of the party came. While we were there only two other groups came in for a total of 5 people. They sat in the other room. When bill came there was a surprise "non food" charge of $150. When I questioned it the manager said he lost business because we were there ( he did not - the 2nd dining area was empty except for 5 people). Plus we were there spending almost $400 so he did not lose any business - we were his paying customers. I told him I wasn't paying it because I spoke to 3 different people at 3 different times and no one told me there would be a charge. He also said "well you brought wine and I had to give you wine glasses". It was 4 wine glasses and it's a byob restaurant!! Does he charge all his customers to use wine glasses?? I know kids make messes so I cleaned up everything that dropped on the floor. I also helped clear the table to make it easier for the wait staff. Finally he agreed to remove it from the bill and told me never to come back to his restaurant. I will say the staff and service and food was great. I'm giving the service one star because of the manager - not the wait staff. The wait staff was great.

Yelp
place was great I loved their pizza I would recommend their hot honey pepperoni pizza out a buffalo chicken wrap the employee were very welcoming and

Yelp
This is my 8 yr old nephew's favorite pizza place in the area, and he's a pizza connoisseur. We came here recently to celebrate his birthday and he really enjoyed the pizza. He highly recommends the Sicilian pizza. He literally gobbled it up in seconds. For appetizers we ordered 2 types of fried calamari - one classic and the "Rhode Island" calamari which was sautéed with peppers, cherry tomatoes, and a slightly sweet tomato sauce. The Rhode Island was flavorful and had a nice kick. My side of the table ordered a large Grandma pie, half with eggplant. The crust was thin and crispy just the way I like it. Overall the flavor was good. My husband tried a few bites of the Sicilian and actually liked it better. My nephew knows his pizza. The restaurant is located at a strip mall so I expected a traditional mom and pop pizzeria but instead it looked newly renovated and had a modern but cozy feel. Our waitor seemed a bit green but we had no issues with him. This place is a nice place to take kids and a good option for lunch, as they also offer salads and sandwiches.

Iei E.

Yelp
when I tried it first years ago, they were tasty and good. I enjoyed it so it was a bit costly for the price they were opened so I tried it. It HAD been pretty tasty and good. so even though it was priced higher than what this style of food was usually priced I thought hey decent food good hours I will pay the prices here, back then. Fast forward a few months came back after being sick and wanted take out. I wanted hot veggies not in a salad I said it on the phone , checked twice and nope wrong. This was the third time trying it again on a visit very unhappy with the loss of quality here used to be good but the prices ouch not worth food I can get anywhere. Found them disappointing once again. The prices ouch not worth food I can get anywhere for less cost. I had other problems including charges three times on things I didn't get three of. Very different than when I tried it. Just going down hill. I hope it improves I doubt I go back when in NJ anymore

Yelp
On those increasingly rare occasions when I go somewhere without checking Yelp first, it can be awkward when I look it up partway through and find a low rating. I see there are many horror stores, some even getting all-caps, but I had no problem with Pizzaiolo by Brothers. The plain pizza was good. I'd be curious try something more exotic. The orecchiette was straightforward but appealing. The broccoli rabe it contained worked beautifully with the garlic.

Yelp
Wife, daughter and grandkids went for dinner. Food was slow in coming so wife inquired to the owner. Nasty and huffy attitude. Won't be going back. #loser

Yelp
First time back at a restaurant after quarantine. Staff and service made the experience enjoyable and fun in our new normal. The outdoor dining is perfect for any family. Definitely try the pasta dishes and be sure to check out the menu specials. The perfect spot for a quick slice of pizza or intimate dinner with friends.

Yelp
To the business owner, Anthony M. Thanks for your response, but I have to tell you that we did call and explained the situation to whoever answered the phone. Some sort of manager then came on and offered to make me another pizza but why would I want that, when they had just made us one that was awful. I can't imagine the second one would've been any better.

Yelp
The ambience is nice, however, the food is just okay. Never been rushed out of a place so fast, rude and disgusting ! If someone makes a reservation at a certain time, and you're closing an hour later, which was not your regular hours by the way, you should let the person know so they can book elsewhere. Shame on you. Now, I get all the negative reviews

Yelp
I try to be very fair with my ratings. I have visited Pizzaiolo many times before and each time I am not 100% pleased with my experience. I think that the food is pretty good. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated! I have done takeout a bunch and I have had my order messed up more than once. I think their pizza is good for a quick slice on the go!
