Pizzalina - San Anselmo

Shocked by the good reviews. Service was nearly nonexistent. Didn’t get my order right (I asked to add a protein to my pasta and they didn’t, I asked for no chili flakes and there definitely was), my pasta was overcooked, my mom’s pasta was dry (lacking sauce). The people next to us waited 15-20 minutes just for their check after trying to pay inside. And it wasn’t even busy when we came for lunch, there were only two other groups of 2 people, and both were done eating.

I have never been to the actual restaurant but I just ordered dinner from them and I cannot recommend this place to anyone. First of all, the portion I received for a $27 rigatoni ragu was barely enough to feed my 5 year old. $27??? Really? Just because your restaurant is in Marin County doesn’t mean you have to over charge and under deliver. The rigatoni was bland, barely any flavor. If you want to be overcharged for mediocre food go here!

Excellent food, great service, wine, deserts. The servers actually will give you opinions about the food if you ask. That a test I have: Will the servers give an opinion if asked or will they weasel out. The staff have opinions about the wine, the main courses, dessert. Lovely experience

Pizzalina changed owners a while ago: rough transition for patrons but they are rocking it now!! Absolute best pizza I’ve ever had in Marin. Service- impeccable! Great sides are Brussels sprouts , burrata salad and heirloom tomato salad in season. Regular salads- small , so so and get the pizza!

Quite Disappointing. service was bad! Pizza is about adequate, tops. Odd cheese. Had take out but not told when the pizza was ready, so it was cold when we finally went up to ask when our pizza would be ready. Undercooked and soggy too, which is maybe why the cheese was so odd. Very Nice atmosphere inside

We love Pizzaiina, and have been really happy with their pizza on a regular dinner time basis- - so many delicious choices. We tried them last night for catering our holiday party and it was really fantastic. It was a combo of pizza, pasta, salad and roasted veggies and everything was fantastic. Highly recommend these folks!!

Fantastic pizza! It was creative and delicious. Loved all the pizzas ordered as shown on the receipt in the photo. Everybody loved the corn pizza and the mushroom pizza was pretty unique. The margarita pizza was delicious and a regularly ordered item as well. We'll definitely order from here again.

I know it was Super Bowl Sunday, but I ordered and picked up my pizza, the February Special, at 5:15. It took me 10 minutes to get home and by then, not only was the pizza weird and tasteless, it was not even close to being hot, it was barely room temperature and the crust was blah. Very disappointing.

Te best place for pizza in all Marin! Take the kids- date night- woman's lunch( after AHS lunch hour) and it all works! Brussel sprouts, burrata, Meatballs, meat pizza- all fantastic!!

Great spot for pizza. Favorite is Il fico and escalle. I like how they have a pizza of the month, as those are very good as well. We like coming here for the outdoor seating and fire pit. Also plenty of parking here and froyo next door.

This place is good! For some reason it's a hit or miss with the pizza. Service is not bad but the restaurant is very nice and clean.

Pizzalina is solid wood fired pizza. It's not the best pizza around, but it is pretty good. The staff is usually pretty solid and it is very family friendly. If you do come in, their salads and desserts are pretty great!

Literally one of the best pizzas I've ever had, and I've had a lot of good pizzas. I wish I could remember the specific pizza, but I think it's their main one with meat.

What a gem in the red hill shopping center! Great service. Amazing food - from the pizza to the risotto to the pastas! Can go wrong with anything here!

We enjoy Pizzalina and are consistently pleased with their pizza at dinner--there are so many tasty options. Last night, we chose them for our holiday party catering, and it was terrific. The spread included pizza, pasta, salad, and roasted vegetables, all of which were excellent. We highly recommend them!

We came in & decided to try the Margherita pizza. All of their ingredients are fresh and packed with flavor. Honestly, this is one of the best wood fire artisan pizza's I've had. Just be mindful of all the bee's if you dine outside!

I've never been to the restaurant, only ordered delivery. The pizza is delicious! The margherita is sooooo good. Meatballs and tiramisu are also incredible. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but it is miles better than other pizza joints we've tried, so it's worth it to me.

As a pizza aficionado from coast to coast, I rate Pizzalino's pizza as good, but falls short of remarkable or outstanding. I am not rating anything else on their menu, but given the high Marin and Pizzalina's pricing in particular, the pizza value is slightly substandard. I have often experienced comparable pizza for $5-$8 less per pie. I picked up my order at a slow time. The order was ready and the cashier service was very satisfactory.

Great pizza Amazing risotto! Comfortable space. We love pizzalina! Your server on a recent Sunday night visit however was just about as inhospitable as it gets. We still live you and will keep returning!

Kids Mac and cheese. Meatballs. Brussels sprouts. I am a full grown adult and that is my jam here. I love this place. I will get a margarita pizza sometimes and the quality of the cheese they use is noticed. This place either has one hell of a cook or they are just using the best highest quality ingredients. I want to thank this business for caring where they source from. Most pizza places try to skimp on the mozzarella quality and being from New York. I notice. Great atmosphere. Great staff. Great food that I crave every second of every day. If a girl comes in their and orders those three, that is me! Yum.

We went there just last night. One of the servers offered my husband to take his jacket to hang on the rack. He forgot on the way out and came back first thing the next morning. It's gone!!! He talked with the manager and all he said is they have lost and found and it's not there. No effort to take his name in case it turns up or no effort to ask the team if it had been seen, he just seemed defensive. I get it, we should have remembered on the way out, but to offer to take a coat and check back 12 hours later and it's gone is lame. The restaurant should be more responsible than this.

Excellent place! Good thing we got there early on a Friday evening for dinner because it was packed by 6 PM! The wait staff were efficient, professional, kind and personable. The Brussels sprouts were oven roasted in their pizza oven and oh so delicious with the fresh squeezed lemon juice spritzed on top. The pizza was thin crust that was perfectly charred. Ravioli was seasonal and superb. And the chocolate cake dessert at the end topped it all off nicely! Will definitely be back!

Zero Stars. . go there as a walk in - party of three on an early Sunday evening at 5:15pm . . host asked us if we had reservations- and we didn't have any. . even though on our way in there were open tables, she said we could not be seated. She offered to seat us on a lounge table that seats two? or at the empty counter. . last offer was to order to go. Thanks but no Thanks. . not a good impression for a newly opened business. Reservations for a pizza joint? It appears that they don't have their act together to service walk ins. What else can I say . . Guess I won't be coming here . .

Great service, great pizzas, and great for the kiddos :) We love coming here and letting the kids run around outside while we wait for food.

I keep going back to Pizzalina because it is just wonderful! The restaurant is very nice and warm and even outside is so beautiful. I love all the people who work there and they are very sweet and don't even get me started about the food!! I love how everything tastes so good (especially the pizza) and I love the kits you can bring home so you can make pizza yourself, nothing comes close to how good the pizza is! Thank you so much!!!!!!!

This is my absolute favorite pizza in Marin. It's a really fun casual vibe and the servers are really kind. For appetizers, the Brussels sprouts are a must. The Tricolore salad is also delicious! The Yolanda, Escalle, and Lansdale are definitely our favorite pizzas - they're thin crust and light on the cheese but have such good flavor! This is our go-to spot to have a family dinner or go out with friends.

This pizza spot is fantastic. Parking is easy, outdoor and indoor seating, and it's family friendly. Call ahead for reservations if you want any specific seating or needs. Staff are warm, friendly, and offer great suggestions from the menu. The margerita pizza was my favorite. The beer list had a nice variety. I have my eyes on pasta next time...and another pizza.

Stars * 2023-06-03 I've NEVER had an issue with anything from Pizzalina. Their food is consistently delicious & I get the SAME thing every, single time. They're my FAVORITE pizza, in all of Marin. That's how I know how amazing their Margherita pizza usually is, each and every, single time. EXCEPT for TODAY. Todays pizza was dried out, literally like eating cardboard & over cooked. It looked beautiful, the toppings were perfect, & I couldn't wait to dive into it. This has NEVER happened to me before w Pizzalina & I WILL continue to be a loyal patron. Seriously folks, Pizzalinas food is CONSISTENTLY outstanding (see my other review.) I'm thinking it was just a hiccup, perhaps someone "new" made it, who knows... I'm still 100% devoted & LOVE your food, Pizzalina! Erin xxoo

Came here because they offer vegan and gluten-free (gf) options! We ordered the Alto pizza, made vegan and with gluten free crust and very much enjoyed it! It's a restaurant in a strip mall, with a number of tables indoors and out front, with heaters. Staff was friendly, food was yummy and all was good. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Dear Pizzalina...I really want to love you but I can't. Even after multiple times of being there. Your pizzas are pretty bad, unless your idea of toppings is kale and pumpkin. The pizza crust is uninspiring and your pizza sauce, or lack there of on some is something very disappointing. What saves this place is one dish, the pasta bolognese which is pretty good. It's conveniently located by Memorial Park, they serve beer and wine and the outdoor dining is great so long as the yellow jacks aren't in full season attacking dinners. Come for the convenience, come for the families with kids with dogs, come for the outdoor dining. But if pizza is really your thing, this is the last place I would go to in Marin.as a side note, be prepared to wait forever for service and food.

Not good. The toppings didn't start for 1.5 to 2" from then sides. it explains why Pizzalina had very few customers on a Friday night.

Some of the best pizza you are going to find in the county. Creative and delicious ingredients, mouth watering sauce, and a pleasingly thin and chewy crust. Highly recommended. Standouts: the Escale and the Baltimore.

Pizzalina claims to "enrich the community", but how can you when the staff/manager is combative and disrespectful? Thankfully there are MANY other pizza options as I won't be going back... here's why: I ordered 3 heat and slice pizzas (online) from Pizzalina as I like being able to take them home to heat and eat, hot out of the oven. When I arrived, the manager gave me fully cooked pizzas. I told him that I ordered the heat and slice. He said, "No we stopped doing that months ago." I told him that I had just ordered the heat and slice two weeks ago and again tonight. He said, "No, you couldn't have. We don't have that anymore. I should know, I'm the manager!" I even showed him that on the box it said "NB" for NO BAKE, but he STILL continued to argue with me! He then grabbed a woman and explained the situation. By this time I had found my order and showed her that their site STILL offers a heat and slice option, which I chose, and that they had made a mistake. She told me several times to " just bring them home and heat them for 3 minutes and they'll be good-I promise!" I explained, since they are fully cooked, cooking them will make them dry! She then said, "If you want me to redo them, It'll take at least 25 minutes. What do you want me to do?" I then said, "What I want you to do is make sure your manager knows the logistics of online orders and instead of asking me to wait 25 minutes for a mistake you made, you should offer some sort of compensation." She just ignored me. Needless to say, I left without an apology and with cold pizzas. DONE!

This is a generous 2-star rating. This restaurant was a huge disappointment. When me & a friend arrived, the first waiter was very rude. He pointed to a seat an told us to "sit at this table" and was rather stern about it. It just so happened to be the worst seat in the restaurant. Right in the middle were customers and servers walk around constantly. Would have made sense if it was the only table left but half the restaurant was empty. We saw a nicer, larger table off in a corner an I told him we preferred to be seated at the nicer table. The man had a fussy attitude an insisted we sit at the little table in the middle. I looked to another waiter an told the other waiter we wanted the other, larger table and that waiter said it was ok. The first waiter gave me & my friend a really dirty look an had an overall bad attitude. Glad he just went in to a corner an folded pizza boxes the rest of the night. Probably was the best idea. I was enticed to come here based on the photos of their photos on the internet. I was looking forward to having a cheese and assorted meat selection as an appetizer before a nice dinner. Come to find out, that was from the previous menu when the restaurant was under different management. We ordered drinks, pizza and pasta. There was a lot of staff and they were extremely busy an almost panicked. There wasn't that many customers in the restaurant. I really don't understand why it was so chaotic. Our food & drinks came. It was alright. Nothing spectacular, just average. One of the ladies working saw that were were not thrilled with their service. She saw her colleague act up earlier when we came in. She came over to apologize for the nasty service we received earlier and explained why the selections I ordered were no longer on the menu. Not the worst pizza place but I probably won't come back.

Imma start this with saying first impressions are a big thing in my opinion. I called in an order for pick up, as I walked up to the counter a gentleman in a mask noticed me and head in my direction. Instead of being treated or kindly ask to wait I was met with his index finger in my face and silence. I've worked in restaurants most of career life, I get it it's busy and your rushing around but you never ignore n frankly be disrespectful to a guest because you are overwhelmed. Hopefully they can teach that staff proper edict because other then that all other staff were polite and respectful

Great pizza, tasty meatballs and very tasty brussel sprouts! I like it when a pizza place offers tasty veggies as a side. Lucky for me, they also have arugula listed as an optional topping. Go here! It's very good! Order the Escalle pizza!

We were watching the Hunger Games on a cold, rainy Thursday, and boy did that make us hungry. So hungry that we just HAD to order takeout from Pizzalina, so we could munch while we watched the action romance series. We ordered a margarita pizza and the Alto pizza which had rosemary potatoes. I've never had potatoes on a pizza before, it was dense and intense, but overall I'd probably order another (and eat it too all in one sitting). And you can never go wrong with a margarita! Wink wink. Maybe why we decided to skip AA that night. Anyhoo! The staff was nice, they let us sit while we waited for our pizza & brought us waters. The also had an adorable outdoor space with a fire pit that stayed lit through the storms. The service was efficient. Definitely made our night! Xoxo, DMT

Have eaten here twice when I visit CA. Both meals were fantastic. Last salad of three citrus with fiore di latte and arugula with a drizzle of olive oil was one of the best I've had. I always look forward to a visit when I'm in CA. Service was attentive and weather was great to eat outside.

Just visited the new Walnut Creek location. Could not be more impressed. The staff was great - super attentive and friendly. The general manager, Jackie, was so warm and welcoming. The pizza was delicious and so many innovative topping combinations. A great ambiance and a nice place for a family dinner. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

Definitely a new favorite place. Our server was super friendly and everyone else was super nice too. But you didn't come here to read my review of the people working here... You probably want to know about the food. Well, we ordered margherita pizzas and they were great! The thin crust was perfectly cooked, and the proportions of sauce and cheese were just right. Clearly all the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. I ate the whole thing while my friend had some of his left over to go home. $16 for a large personal pizza is reasonable for Marin. Thanks Pizzalina, we'll be back!

Had takeout last night and it was delicious. We had the Meatballs, Tricolore Salad, Broccoli Di Ciccio, and the Escalle pizza. The Meatballs were amazing, tender and the sauce spot on. Salad and Broccoli did not disappoint, both were excellent. Escalle pizza was really good and would order again but I really want to try the Yolanda. Sorry no pictures, it was devoured as soon as it showed up. Will definitely be ordering again and hopefully will make some in person visits.

We went to Pizzalina after searching for a nice post-hike meal and it was perfect. We were impressed by how spacious it was, and the ambiance and decoration was very inviting. The cocktails we ordered were tasty. The pork ricotta meatballs were moist and delicious. Both the Margherita and Escalle (made with tomato, house mozzarella, house sausage, pepperoni, and fennel pollen) pizzas were awesome. I'm a huge fan of Neapolitan wood-fired pizza and this was no exception. You could tell that each meal was made with love, and grown locally and organically. This place is very busy, but I see why because so many people love it here! I can't say enough about how outstanding the staff was. If we could rate above 5 stars, we would. They went well above what was expected! Thank you for an outstanding lunch!

So glad for this find and Yelp reviews. Visited while in the area decided to get Pizza and from reviews chose this delicious pizza place . The pizza and staff were great , for delicious pizza at an affordable price this is a good find .

Nice outdoor dining, ample parking spaces throughout the private lot, and very friendly staff.

Have been to Pizzalina a few times through the years but this was the first time I ordered a pizza to go under the new ownership. It was really delicious! The pizza crust was perfect- we heat up the pizza to crisp up the crust on an electric griddle, if you like crispy hot pizza, use your electric flat griddle or get one! The quality was definitely improved, not that there was anything wrong before. Pizzalina is now our preferred pizza in Marin. Can't wait to try out the rest of the menu in house soon! Thank you for giving us a great restaurant to go to in central Marin.

Lovely pizza place that has Miyoko's vegan cheese and knows how to use it! They also clearly understand vegan, so we didn't have to do the whole explanation thing (which I always appreciate). We got the Margherita with mushrooms added and the Alto, both subbing in Miyokos for the cheese. They were both excellent, and I would definitely get them again. We also got the Wood Roasted Brussels Sprouts and the Broccoli Di Ciccio, which were good but could use slightly less oil. I look forward to coming back here again soon!

Friendly staff but my good feeling stops there. The Caeserlina salad was basically mayo on romaine, not worth my $15. My husband enjoyed the Yolanda Pizza but I found it tasteless and most of the topping slid off before I could take a bite. Noisy concrete bunker. Probably not going back. I'll get a burrito next door instead.

Food took over an hour to come out and the staff was not only unapologetic, but rude, when we asked when the food would be ready. I had the same experience a couple months ago. Crossing this place off my list for good.
