I don't like to write reviews that hurt business, but I had to because of a safety issue. My husband and I are here on vacation, and we just wanted a night in to enjoy some local pizza. Door dash offered Pizza slut as an option for delivery but after they add on their taxes, fees, and steep delivery times, it was much easier to pick it up.
We knew it wasn't a good sign when it took nearly thirty minutes for the payment and the order to be processed. At first, this wasn't a big deal. It got sketchy when it came time to pick up our pizza. We were told the pizza would be ready at 1053 pm. My husband drives down to get the pizza, and when he arrives, he can't find parking. Not a huge issue, until he has to use the pay lot where he had to pay $27 to park. Normally, you can pick an hour for parking, but he was only given the overnight parking option. Spoiler, Pizza Slut place is a music venue with a pizza window.
My husband arrives and asks about the pizza, and he's told by the person working that the pizza was going to not be ready for at least another 45 minutes. Here's where it gets real shady. He asked if he could come in and grab a beer and wait for our food, but the staff refused him bar service and proceeded to ask if he was even in the right place. That pissed me off because my husband is Native American with dark skin and hair within a sea of white people. I was wanting to avoid the racist label, but it seems like racism was at play.
Of course, after this was said, he
wanted our money back. Nobody wants to give their hard-earned money to a business where they're not wanted. But the too-cool police didn't want to give us a refund, and when he complained to door dash, they only offered a $10 credit on a $43 order. On top of the discriminatory customer service, he was followed by some mumbling random with his hands in his pockets, while he was in the parking lot. He asked the guy three or four times to stop following him before he had to get mean.
I can deal with a little rudeness and even a little price gauging mixed with false advertising (this place is NOT a pizzeria), but personal safety is a big deal and for that reason alone, this place is getting a half star. We got no pizza, and we're out $70. If you want to be harassed by patrons who enjoy trying to intimidate paying customers then go to Pizza Slut. They will stand in front of your car door, and get pissed when you ask them nicely if you can get in your vehicle.
I could say a lot more, but I feel this was enough. I don't enjoy slamming a business, but people need to be careful when going to this place.
