Pizzeria Cardamomo - Review - Redwood City - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The story of this warm, sunny pizzeria is a romantic one. Chef Momo moved his 25-year-old pizza operation from Lake Como, Italy to this snug spot on Broadway when he met his American wife. And lucky for us, because the sourdough-crust pies are worth the hype. Get the mortadella pistachio, with fiore de latte and pistachio pesto, and the Sarika with tomato sauce, sauteed vegetables, and spicy thai chilies. There’s a garden patio for outdoor dining, plus you can watch the action, which revolves mostly around an enormous bright red pizza oven from the open kitchen." - Gabi Moskowitz

Delicious pizza served with "great service" as toppings. Can't beat the combination. This place is new, but was packed when we went. Do book your table in advance before venturing out. Friendly service and good food makes it worth the wait. Though a little noisy for business conversations, yummy pizza compensates for the noisy atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

ALL About

Google
This place was really nice and clean, and the food tasted super fresh. I had the fresh pesto pasta and the carbonara pizza — both were delicious, especially the pizza! The crust was perfect, and the flavors were just right. The fresh chilli oil and garlic were to notch. The service was great too. Server was very friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The portion sizes of pasta are so small I thought I ordered from the kids menu. Marinara pizza was majorly overcooked. The Stracciatella pizza was very sweet (not that it matters but I was offended and I am not even from Italy). The pesto/pistachio pizza was the most palatable of the three. Pesto pasta was good.

I loved that the patio was warm enough with the heaters that we could sit outside in what is supposedly the middle of winter. The food here is delicious, I really enjoyed the pizza and I am usually not a pizza type of gal. The drinks were delicious as well, as was the dessert. Would definitely come back. The owners have lived in Italy and I can vouch that the pizza here is better than some of the ones I’ve had in Rome.

Spectacular service grade vibes, and most importantly the food was delicious. Really enjoyed their complementary garlic oil. Would recommend the arancini appetizer. They also had a great selection of Italian wine. 🍷

We have been to many Italian restaurants. This new one just opened so we decided to give a try. We like that the ingredients are fresh and well made. Also it has less oil and salt, which makes it healthier and lighter. I really like adding the spicy oil that’s made by the restaurant. The spritz doesn’t have any alcohol in it (bummer!because we wanted to try it). Service is great! The server Patrick was super nice and paid attention to details!!! We made reservation in advance. Everything is smooth.

Came here for a weekday lunch and sat outside. We got the tagliatelle bolognese and carbonara pizza. The big question was how this pizza compares to Vesta’s and did everything taste good. If you’re a fan of crust that is cracker thin and ultra crispy then this is the place for you. The pizza crust is crispy throughout, similar to a Roman style crust rather than the Neapolitan style at Vesta’s which is soft and fluffy. In terms of the pizza toppings there were multiple pizzas that had a combination of interesting flavors and some classics such as the carbonara. We liked the house made habanero oil that could be added to basically any dish on the menu. It wasn’t too spicy but added a nice flavor and light zing. The tagliatelle bolognese was good and filling. Overall I’m glad that we have a new pizza restaurant in town that serves up a different style. More options is always better. One thing that I didn’t like: I am a fan of restaurants that serve locally sourced produce and appreciate a lighter hand when it comes to oils, etc but the claims from the servers that you won’t feel bloated after eating here made me 🙄. I’m here to eat pizza, I don’t need to pretend I’m eating healthy. I think it’s ok to not try to make health claims like that, it detracts from the experience.

Yelp
I stopped by Cardamomo for lunch today and felt compelled to leave a review immediately. This place is truly exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the host, who shared a backstory about the owner and how Cardamomo found its way to Redwood City, CA. It was a lovely personal touch that set the tone for the meal. The restaurant itself was spotless and had a great vibe, with music playing softly in the background. We ordered the Brontë Pizza, Magica Pizza and the Spicy Spaghetti with Meatballs, all were absolutely 10/10. The pizza were cooked with fresh, flavorful ingredients, and the spaghetti was rich and satisfying. I especially loved the two oils provided at the table. The Garlic Oil elevated every bite while Habanero Chili Oil added a mild heat. For dessert we shared the Pistachio Tiramisu, which was just the perfect taste to close out a good lunch! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, checking in often to make sure we had everything we needed. their hospitality made the experience special. Thanks to the team and the chef for the outstanding lunch at Cardamomo, I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Vesta's got some competition. I loved the staff, so warm and accommodating. Vesta- I have felt rushed all the time. Overall, if you're looking for a great place to get together and shareable plates, come here. Great for dogs. Some of the dishes could use more salt. I'd come back for the pasta actually more than the pizza. But overall, I am going here now.

Yelp
On the 4th of July, I was in a ridiculous line of cars on 84 East headed into RWC to see a drone show and maybe eat some overpriced food truck fare. In a split-second decision, we opted to abandon our plan and head into downtown Redwood City with no agenda. We parked the car, and just started walking down Broadway. We walked by Cardamomo, and it had this festive energy that we ignored initially, but on our walk coming back, we realized something special might be happening there. We decided on a whim to just go in. Generally speaking, we're not pizza eaters anymore (cheese = unhealthy), but heck, it was a holiday. I just love the vibe at Cardamomo. It is small and intimate, and the staff was wonderful. I didn't feel rushed or like a $ign. I want to go back, maybe with a few friends, or really, anyone you want to chat with and relax with.

Yelp
The restaurant was beautiful, and there is a ton of outdoor seating. We came on a Wednesday evening and was able to do walk in seating, however we do recommend reservations since it got packed shortly after. Service was amazing, everyone was so nice and checked in on us regularly. Drinks - highly recommended the spirtz, we tried their classic and special. They were both great! Food - the bruschetta was good and the bread was perfectly toasted. The beets salad was probably our favorite item of the night! The salsiccia pizza was ok, slightly spicy. Loved that they had house made oils to enjoy with the dishes.

Yelp
Came at 5:30pm on a Friday night and the place was super busy. Highly recommend making reservations. Limited menu consisting of primarily pizzas/pastas, but solid if this is what you are looking for. They also have a rotating specials menu. On the table were a variety of house made olive oils that were delicious. Local pear bruschetta: The Gorgonzola cheese was quite strong so keep that in mind. Tagliatelle bolognese/Lasagna: Both were solid and the pasta had a great al dente texture. Would order again. Bronte: Interesting flavor profile with the subtle pistachio and cheese. Would order again. Salsiccia: Flavor profile had your standard spiced meat red pizza. Both pizzas had a nice chewy crust. They had three different types of tiramisu (classic/strawberry/pistachio). We opted for the strawberry since it had no caffeine. Tasty, but wouldn't call it a tiramisu. Felt more like a strawberry cake. Service was outstanding. Multiple staff members came by to check in with us and were super friendly. Lots of kids, but surprisingly no changing table in the restaurant. Owners, if you are reading this, please add one to the bathroom!

Yelp
Overall, a wonderful dining experience! The service was wonderful! The waiter was well informed about the menu, and was able to give us very good recommendations based on our diet needs. Every time a staff member walked by our table, they made sure to check in on us and make sure everything was okay. The food was delicious! Our favorite part was the pasta with meat sauce. The thick noodles were phenomenal and you can tell they were made in house. Our pizza had great unique flavor and even the plain cheese pizza we ordered for the kids was excellent. Believe it or not our favorite part was the salad we ordered the beet salad, which I usually don't care for, but it came out. Excellent it was very fresh and perfect balance to eating a lot of carbs. The ambience was nice. I love that they have an open kitchen and smelling all the fresh food. The only recommendation I would give about the ambience was maybe a staff member checking in on the bathroom and making sure it remains tidy. Overall, we are very happy this opened in our neighborhood and we will definitely be back !

Yelp
Yes it is bold to put a pizza place right across from Vesta which has been a Redwood City favorite for years so I thought why not try it- and unfortunately for them, Vesta was better. This place is good but the prices especially for lunch were just too steep even for Redwood City. It was average, nothing fantastic that I even think is good. The pizza was not super great and I probably would not come back. The server was friendly so that wasn't a problem and sitting outside is always nice. I actually never even went into the restaurant

Yelp
Because Vesta (which is across the street) is quite good, it was a bold move to open another pizzeria. It hasn't opened for long but has already became a popular spot. We went for an early dinner on a Saturday without a reservation and were seated right away. The chef has an amazing story, and you can see him working in the kitchen and greeting customers. I loved the ambiance of this place. It felt nice, but not pretentious. The restaurant was pretty new, so some of the servers felt a bit inexperienced, but it wasn't a big deal. The pizza was good, though not amazing. The crust is not very thin. I think the specialty pizzas are uniquely creative. We tried the Magician and really enjoyed it. However, I wasn't impressed by the Margherita pizza. I loved the spicy garlic oil the chef prepared for each table. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious--made in-house, Italian-style. They offered pistachio, strawberry, and traditional options. I can't help but compare it to Vesta. Overall, I liked the vibe of this place more, but I think Vesta's food might be slightly better. I recommend giving it a try!

Yelp
Came for lunch on Mother's Day. We were able to walk in without a reservation as a table of 4, and the host was kind enough to give us some roses for Mother's Day. We ordered the pistachio spinach salad, pear bruschetta, pomodoro pasta, tagliatelle bolognese, and spicy pepperoni pizza with honey. The pistachio spinach salad and pear bruschetta were good but really, really expensive for what you get. The pastas were tasty and al dente. The pizza was fine, not particularly memorable. The restaurant seemed overwhelmed because it was Mother's Day. We unfortunately had to wait quite a while for our food, and despite the fact that our server kept coming to our table to apologize and say our food was "coming soon," we continued to watch food come out of the kitchen and get delivered to other tables, including tables that were seated after us. The best part of the meal was the homemade oil on the table. There were 2 small bottles, one garlic oil and one spicy oil. Both were very flavorful and tasty. Service was friendly throughout, and our server comped us a tiramisu, which was kind.

Yelp
We tried the risotto fritters with a sauce which was delicious and even enjoyed by the 3 & 6 year old granddaughters. You get 4/serving. Their pizza price averages around $27 but ranging from $22 - 28 and they are sliced so there are 6 slices/pie. The pies are delicious but a little pricey. They are all thin crust. They are flavorful. They also offer a spicy oil and garlic oil in a small bottle with a spout to top off your pizza to your liking. Service is great - they are attentive and offered suggestions. Our original seating was outside but glad we got an inside table which had a little more privacy and peaceful. Many people sat outside because it was such a nice day.

Yelp
Made an indoor reservation ahead of time but unfortunately was seated outside due to some opentable hiccup (which I believe should be resolved by now). Ended up being ok since they had some heaters running, but far from ideal since it was a windy day. Shared one appetizer, three pizzas, one pasta, and a dessert among the 4 of us. beet salad, margherita , spicy pepperoni with honey, special of the day pizza, tagliatelle, tiramisu Our favorite item was the special of the day pizza. Overall enjoyable experience but I still prefer Vesta's pizza and beet salad.

Yelp
I had my birthday party with 8 friends here and it was such a good time. Service was great, food was amazing and they even brought a dessert with a candle on it in the end. We got to meet with the Chef and he's a delight. He shared his passion for the cuisine with us. We really liked the garlic and spicy oil dressing they provide to top the pizza. Beet salad - 10/10 Pastas - 8/10 Brontë -10/10 Verdura - 8/10 Stracciatella - 8/10 I will be back, the Red blend wine was also really good and paired well with the fresh pizzas!

Yelp
Date: Friday, February 21st, 2025 Time: 6:30pm Party of: 8 Meal: Birthday Dinner Reservation Made: via OpenTable about 2.5 weeks prior *Maschio ($12) *Tagiatelle Bolognese ($26) x2 *Spicy pepperoni ($25) *Carbonara Pizza ($27) *Sausage ( $26.50) *Meatballs ($14) x2 *Italian Pale Ale IPA ($9) *Corkage Fee ($25) x2 *Coca Cola Bottled ($5) x4 *Margarita DOP Pizza ($33) *Spicy pepperoni with honey ($26) *2021 Sella Antica: Red Blend ($48) *Tiramisu ($12) *Panna Cotta with Raspberry Sauce ($12) *Comped Bday Dessert (-$12) For a friend's bday dinner, he picked Pizzeria Cardamomo. I've honestly never heard of this place, but it was a good halfway point between SF and SJ since we're all spread out between those two cities. When we checked in, they didn't have our table ready, so we had to wait a bit. Wasn't a problem since only two of us were here. We ended up with a table in the back. Originally they asked if we wanted to squish into a corner table made for 3 and a 2 top, but my party orders a lot, so we asked for another 2 top to be added. Glad we did cuz there definitely would not have been enough room with just the two tables. Since I was one of the first peeps here, I started with a glass of sparkling. There is only one offering on the menu - Maschio. It's described as clean and delicate with peach and orange blossom flavors. It was a good way to ease into dinner. They have a small variety of wines at reasonable price points. We did bring two bottles to cork, and then ordered an additional red blend. Not as good as our bottles, but fine for the price. I'm not gonna lie, I did not eat much when I was here. Tho I like how they provided a hot sauce / hot oil to use with their food. I adore my food spicy. In regards to the pizzas, most found the carbonara too salty. The pepperoni with honey seemed to have a nice balance of heat and sweetness. One pasta is probably good for sharing between 4 people as a tasting, so if you have more and want a good amount per, it's probably better to double up. Our server was sweet and attentive. The resto gave us a complimentary dessert since we were celebrating a bday. If craving Italian or pizza, a nice place to grab a meal in Redwood City. REVIEW #3712

Yelp
Came here for dinner with a few friends on a weeknight and had a great experience! We made a reservation on the day of and we were glad we did because it was pretty busy when we got there As soon as you walk in, there's this delicious dough smell -- made me more hungry and ready to eat some pizza We started with the arancini and bruschetta. Both were good but the bruschetta was a standout, the bread, tomato, and prosciutto went together so well in every bite. For pizzas, the four of us shared a carbonara pizza and a stracciatella pizza. We really enjoyed both -- I liked the guanciale and poached egg aspect of the carbonara. For the stracciatella, the caramelized tomatoes were the highlight, I've never had a pizza like this, it was so delicious but also didn't feel heavy at the same time. Another thing I really liked was that the pizzas were thin crust but the slices weren't floppy when I picked them up to eat, while the crust was pretty thick. It felt like the best of both worlds between thin crust and thick crust! We also ordered dessert -- we got a panna cotta and the strawberry tiramisu (a special at the time). We liked both but the strawberry tiramisu was the highlight. I generally don't like tiramisu but this one was so rich in flavor and the strawberry flavor instead of the coffee-like flavor was a game changer! Overall, I was very satisfied with this experience and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Loved this place. Service was great, food was served quickly, and the food itself tasted amazing as well. Bruschetta was delicious, followed by Pesto Pasta and Bolognese which were also really good. Topped off with Carbonara pizza and Crudo pizza which were awesome as well. The place is also pretty vibey so overall great!!
google avatar

Scott F.

Yelp
I stopped by today and tried the carbonara pizza. I don't recommed it: - The crust is dense and tough. That is likely becasue the dough undergoes a short fermentation; it's not fermented overnight. - The cornicione (crust edges) are not puffed up / inflated; they are flat and dense. - The bottom of the pizza doesn't have sufficient char / Leopard spotting. - However, the flavors were great for carbonara, with the right amount of cheese, gaunciale, and ground pepper.

Yelp
The hottest restaurant in RWC atm. It's impossible to get a table here on a weekend evening without reservations. We ended up getting outdoor seating even with reservations on Friday night. The service was pretty good and the server was super informative. We also got a whole spiel from one of the owners about the restaurant and how they are from Lake Como trying to bring authentic and fresh food here. I will say their appetizers were a bit lacking. The arancini was very bland and overall dry. They didn't really give a lot of cacio e pepe sauce for the dip :/ the starter bread was pretty yummy but they gave very little. The pizzas here were yummy. It was the proper thin crust and the toppings were all yummy. My fav were the stracciatella and the momo. The stracciatella was a red pizza with fresh cheese on top with basil. Kind of like a margherita but with stracciatella instead of mozzarella and the cheese wasn't baked. The waiter called it a "cold pizza" from the fresh cheese. The momo was a white pizza with potatoes on top. We got prosciutto on the side and it was definitely one of the yummiest spots I've had prosciutto. The potato was a fun addition and overall it was a good pizza.

Yelp
Last weekend we went to Pizza Cardamomo. I liked it a lot! We ordered the pesto pasta, carbonara pizza, Magica pizza, and the strawberry tiramisu. I liked the pesto pasta. It was simple, not too cheesy, and there was a little crunch from the pine nuts with every bite. When you add the garlic oil, provided on the table, it enhances the flavor a bit more; garlic and basil are a good combination. The carbonara pizza has white sauce with chewy bacon and a poached egg in the middle. The egg makes the pizza a bit softer underneath it. The Magica pizza has tomato sauce, ground beef, mint, honey and yellow potatoes. The mint caught me by surprise as I don't typically find mint on pizza, but it gave the pizza an earthy taste. The strawberry tiramisu is creamy with a strong strawberry taste and doesn't have any coffee. On each table there are 3 oils you can add to your dishes. One oil is habanero. If you like spicy, you'd like this oil. Another oil is garlic. It goes well with all the dishes because it doesn't overpower anything, but gives each dish a little garlic taste. The last oil is a citrus oil. It's a little bit spicy and I didn't think it went well with the carbonara pizza. Overall I liked this restaurant a lot and I can't wait to come back again.

Yelp
Service 5/5 our server was sweet, funny, and apologetic that the food was taking so long. The kitchen was very backed up and not able to get orders out quickly, so there was a lot of waiting between dishes and ordering as well. Didn't bother me because they were nice about keeping us updated. Food 3/5 - very mid experience with under salted and under flavored food. Wouldn't go again Ambiance - outdoor seating was nice due to a nice sunny day but their chairs, tables, linens, umbrellas were not able to withstand the winds so it was quite messy. They have put extra seating on the side of the restaurant and they shouldn't have done that, they clearly overcommitted to so many reservations that they weren't able to handle at the same time Food: 5/5 for the beet salad, this was truly delicious and the pistachio complimented it so well. 3/5 spinach salad was very underwhelming, not much to it, tasted like ingredients thrown together instead of a thought out dish 4/5 bread with olives was ok. the addition of cumin to the olives was odd but the preserved lemon was good 2/5 pesto pasta was recommended as one of their best things but it just tasted like boiled pasta with nothing on it. they said we were the last table to get it so i think they just skimped out on the pesto because they ran out. our server asked for feedback and we said it was a bit underflavored, she told us we would have to add salt to most of the dishes because they focus on less salt. 3/5 for the pizzas: verdura, sarika, pepperoni with hot honey. not hot by the time they came to us, not crispy on the crust, and the tomato sauce had no flavor. added a bunch of parmesan on top to make it a better but it wasn't an enjoyable pizza experience 3/5 tiramisu was ok. we ordered the pistachio one but they didn't tell us they ran out until we asked again when it was going to be ready

Yelp
Came to know about the restaurant through an article I was reading online. Interesting story of how the restaurant came about. We wanted to check it out because the chef is from Lake Como and we are always on the lookout for great Italian and/or pizzas. We made a reservation and it was hard to find an evening time, so it was an early dinner for us. We parked in the parking lot behind the restaurant. The service was very attentive. We got some Italian wine to start and went straight to the pizzas. Our server took enough time to explain the different pizzas and helped with recommendations. Our favorites were Bronte (pesto with pistachios) and Verdura (with vegetables)z We really enjoyed the food and the ambience. The pizzas were thin crust and had just the right amount of cheese and flavors. Will be back when we are in the area next.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with a reservation for a small group-- definitely recommend a reservation if you want to sit inside by nightfall so you don't freeze! **** Staff: Friendly! They like to share the story of how this restaurant came to be. It was also lovely to see the Chef actually in the kitchen cooking :) *** Sitting Indoors: TOO LOUD :( you have to scream to be heard, but you're not freezing like you would outside when it gets too cold even though they have the heaters. *** Food *** - ARANCINI CACIO E PEPE (vegetarian appetizer) "Crispy risotto fritter with pecorino and parmigiano reggiano" - had a nice crunch and it was yummy to dip this into the white melted parmesan - ORGANIC BEETS salad - delicious mix of "Navel orange, toasted almonds, arugula pesto, white wine vinaigrette" - TAGLIATELLE BOLOGNESE - tastes fresh "Housemade fresh pasta, meat ragu" but the meat was quite dry :( definitely feels lighter like they advertised with less oil etc - STRACCIATELLA (Vegetarian pizza) - love the thin crust and the flavors were delicious with "Organic tomato sauce, stracciatella, caramelized tomatoes, basil oil" ** Parking: Free for first 1.5 hrs at the nearby MARSHALL's LoT. After that it's like $2.50 per hour.

Yelp
Arancini- delicious (4/5) Verdura - vegetarian pizza, decent but too many veggies (3.5/5) Slightly pricey but nice outdoor space.

Yelp
I reallly wanted to love this place but unfortunately 'momo is a no-no for me. With Vesta across the way, and Doppio Zero one short drive to a city over and a plethora of other pizza spots I likely will not be returning here unless friends or colleagues want to give it a try. And, if I do, I'm open to changing my rating if anything changes. Service was a 5 out of 5. The hostess and waiter were both very welcoming, friendly and smiley. They were attentive, promptly. As my luck would have it, the owner seemed to be hosting a kids party (guessing kids of family friends). They were all over the place and I moved tables twice because one particular parent had no spacial awareness while taking photos and crowding/leaning over my table(s). The kids (boys and girls with long hair) were behind the kitchen making pizza with no hair nets...honestly, I just don't think this should be happening during regular dining hours given the small space. The pizza was a 3/5. I had the Spicy Pepperoni with Organic Honey. I was super excited for the organic, sourdough crust however it fell a little flat (no pun intended). The back of the menu and their website describe the "Moroccan" pizza which I would have loved to try (sausage and plum) but sadly it was no where to be found on the menu. I see the owner's wife has commented on reviews that this restaurant was originally opened in Lake Como and popular- I'm wondering if perhaps it's an issue of ingredients in the US versus Italy...or maybe it's the oven and wood fire would be more enjoyable. Not sure...overall, it's just ok but I do think this place has potential with some tweaks and an updated menu.

Yelp
Overall a lovely experience, but with Vesta around the corner, I'd choose Vesta every time. Food (3.5/5): The flavors and quality of all of the dishes were great. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The only complaint is how expensive everything was compared to the portions you get. The pizzas are priced well over an average expensive pizza and the sides were basically the same price as a whole meal but fed maybe half a person. My favorite dishes we got were the carmelized tomato pizza and the arancini. Service (4/5): Hopefully they're hiring more folk because there was only one waiter for the whole restaurant. Although it wasn't too busy, I think he had a lot of responsibilities and neglected us a bit. He was very kind though! The owner also checked up on us after our meal. Ambiance (3/5): I wish it was a bit more rustic feeling. It seems a bit too sterile inside which doesn't match the food.

Yelp
The pizza is absolutely fantastic!! It gets packed, even in weekdays, so make a reservation. I still dream about that amazing crust, it's perfect! Service is friendly. Great place for a group.

Yelp
Came here with a few friends on a Saturday night. It was HOPPING! Definitely recommend making a reservation and this place has become quite popular very fast. Service was fast though. We got a couple of apps including arancini, bruschetta, and the arugula salad. I liked the salad the best - the dressing was super flavorful and it went nicely with the pears and cheese. We ordered two pizzas - the verdura and the margarita. My husband really enjoyed the margarita. Thin crust, like you see in Italy. We also got the pomodoro pasta - loved the texture of the pasta but think the flavor profile could be stronger. Overall cute neighborhood spot worth checking out!

Yelp
Perfect place for a casual date night! They are a new, authentic Italian restaurant in Redwood City, owned by a family that used to run a similar restaurant in Milan! I loved hearing from the owners (they came by the table briefly) and seeing how busy the place is already. They deserve all the hype. We ordered a Margarita pizza with prosciutto, arugula salad with pears, and the lemon chicken dinner plate. And, the tiramisu for dessert! The meal featured simple but high quality ingredients and flavors. You walk away feeling rather light despite the carbs! The pizza was charred to perfection, the chicken fell off the bone, and the arugula had a light, sweet dressing. My only complaint was the tiramisu, which had too much cream for my taste. But, we had a wonderful time! Thank you so much.

Yelp
I went for the soft opening and the pizzas are all delicious. The service is friendly and the backstory of the owner and wife is very touching. The ambiance is elevated for a pizzeria but right on target for the mixed offerings. I have returned a few times so here's what I enjoy: Attention to ingredients being fresh and local (lots of local farms in the produce). The food isn't just a mad dash and slapped on a plate. Plating is considered. Adapted menu must be challenging for an Italian to serve pepperoni but it's on the menu. It's a warm and welcoming place for both adults and families.

Yelp
I went to this restaurant three weeks ago for the first time with a few girlfriends! We felt like we were in Europe! The food was amazing! Tonight we are going again for my son's birthday! Looking forward to the amazing food, service, and atmosphere!

Yelp
I hate to be the contrarian here but this restaurant just didn't quite do it for me. It has a great interior but the food was not up to par. I ordered the Margherita (with the upgraded Buffalo Mozzarella DOP) and the Tiramisu. The tomato sauce in the Margherita was nowhere near as flavorful as I was hoping for although the crust was indeed nice, light and crunchy. The basil used wasn't very fresh. For the Tiramisu, the zabaglione was too watery and the entire dessert overly sweet. Their menu is sparse and doesn't feature any compelling pasta options (I think I saw a grand total of 3 pasta dishes on the menu). I don't know if it was an off-day for the kitchen but this was a clear swing and a miss for me and would certainly not return given the many other options on Broadway.

Yelp
So glad we get to try this newish restaurant in the neighborhood. The story behind the restaurant was lovely. We had the Bruschetta, Pasta E Fagioli, and Verdura pizza. Each dishes were deliciously crafted by the chef. It's so refreshing to be able to taste the freshness of the ingredients. Love the sweetness of the tomato sauce and addicted by their sourdough toast and pizza crust. The soup was also hearty and earthy, which is perfect for this slightly drizzling day. Almost forgot to mention the homemade chili oil that elevated the flavors to a new level. Nice contemporary and spacious interior. The owners are very friendly and kind people. Would love to come back and try their other dishes.

Yelp
Great food. Interesting creative menu. Super service. Warm, friendly ambiance for family, friends or romance. Superior pizza as good as you'll get in Italy. Pasta fresh and homemade. Master chef Momo has brought his talents here from the old country, and you and your tastebuds will be happy he did. Check it out. You'll be happy you did.

Yelp
I've been excited about visiting this spot ever since I saw the sign go up on the storefront long before they opened! I finally had a chance to visit over the weekend and was definitely not disappointed. We came in with a party of 2 at around 5:30 on a Sunday night for dinner and were seated immediately. The restaurant was pretty full at around this time. Leo took great care of our table the entire night - speedy orders, gave us plenty of check-ins throughout our meal, and generally made us feel very welcome. The food exceeded expectations! We chose 2 pizzas to try from the menu, my personal favorite was the Magica - this is the first time I've had yellow potatoes on a pizza, and this was the surprising ingredient that stole the show for me! Everything tasted great, even the day after as leftovers. We had a lovely brief chat with one of the owners Sarika at the end of the meal. The owners' dedication and story to the restaurant really shines through, I think they deserve the best opening month and continued success. Wonderful experience, will definitely be visiting again!

Yelp
Super cute spot that I was genuinely excited to try. The story behind it: chefs from Lake Como bringing authentic Italian-style pizza - is incredibly charming, and the staff were warm and welcoming throughout our visit. That said, when I dine out at a place that's meant to feel special, I do look for a cohesive and thoughtful atmosphere. Unfortunately, the decor here feels scattered and underwhelming. The open kitchen concept could work well, but only if the space is kept tidy - in this case, it was messy. The kitchen counters were cluttered with plants, orchids, and roses, and a random tablecloth draped over the kitchen glass didn't help tie things together. It all felt haphazard and lacked a clear design point of view. As for the food: we ordered the bruschetta, which was under-seasoned and poorly plated - I found myself reaching for salt and pepper to bring out any flavor. The pizza was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. The little bottles of oils were a great addition! That said, they're new and still finding their footing, and I'm hopeful that with time, both the food and the space will come together in a stronger way.

Yelp
The spaghetti and meatballs were amazing! The pizza with Thai chiles so good! Habanero chile and garlic olive oils, mouth watering! We will be back! Thank you Momo, the chef and co-owner for the amazing habanero chile oil! We can't wait to share with our family!

Yelp
The food here was absolutely amazing! Made with clean ingredients, very flavorful, 100% authentic!!! I totally recommend if you're in Redwood City downtown to stop on by this place is in a great location with outdoor dining as well. We will definitely go back here and eat again! I am so glad I seen this spot someone posted on Social Media! It was totally worth it!

Yelp
Best Pizza in Redwood City. All of the ones we tried were really good. My favorite was the Carbonara Pizza.

Yelp
Love the cozy family feel of this restaurant, especially the service. The servers love to tell the story of the owners and genuinely are excited. Also love the small bottle of chili oil they gave us to take home! The pizzas are simple but are tasty. I think some could use just a touch more seasoning, that's my only critique!

Yelp
Came here for a valentine's day lunch and didn't have to wait for a table. We also parked in the garage close to there which was free for the first hour or 2. Staff is super friendly and made the atmosphere enjoyable. Gave great recommendation and we went with the Testa and Tagliatelle Bolognese. Highly recommend the Testa pizza and add their spicy oil that they have on the table. I honestly should have asked if I could just buy some of the oil, added a nice kick. I think the waiter said they make it in house. Overall great experience.

Yelp
Went there twice, both the times the food was excellent, the pizzas are amazing, the crust is totally unique. The oil spreads add a touch amazing flavors. Service was prompt and friendly. Sarika is a wonderful hostess and the owner along with her husband

Yelp
We recently tried the new pizza shop located in downtown Redwood City. It was really busy on a weekday night and we didn't have any reservations. We waited like 15-20 minutes or so before they set up a table and a heat lamp outside on the street. Even with the heat lamp it was still a bit cold so if possible I'd recommend snagging a seat inside if you can during the winter. We tried the bruschetta and thought the pieces were few, tiny, and quite expensive for $14! The overall bruschetta was okay but the portions were definitely really small. We split two pizzas among the three of us. The pizzas were a bit on the smaller and thinner side. I thought they were just okay. We tried the margherita with ground beef ($21 +$6 for the ground beef) and the carbonara ($27). The ground beef was an interesting topping for pizza but probably not something we'd get regularly. The carbonara pizza was okay flavor wise. I did feel like the pizza crusts especially on the bottom were very soft and had no structure. I think I prefer my pizza to be a little more cooked and firm when eating the slices. They did bring over a fancy glass bottle with a dropper with their house made chili oil. I did think it was a little on the spicier side but it did add a nice kick to the pizzas. Overall I felt like the food was just okay, just felt really overpriced and at those prices I would have hoped that I would have enjoyed the food a bit more. Also, sitting outside was not the most comfortable so if there is a next time I think I would make a reservation or just wait around for a table inside if possible.

Yelp
Underwhelmed by my first visit to this place last night. Firstly, our appetizer took forever to arrive and came out at the same time as our main dishes... which defeats the point of ordering an appetizer. Server did not acknowledge this miss. My pizza also came out barely lukewarm-- which no one wants. When I brought this to our server's attention, he explained to me that it was supposed to come out not very warm because the cheese on top is served cold. I thought it was weird to try to explain it away like this... i am fine with the cheese on top being cold, but no one wants an entirely cold pizza. He agreed to remake it. It came out a minute later and, while it was definitely a lot warmer, was also remade to be very crispy with lots of charred/burnt parts. Whatever, it was fine... i was able to enjoy it but felt the pizza was just average. We were never offered cheese or pepper for our pizzas, either. We split the tirimisu but didnt finish it. It was ok but overly sweet for us. Didn't taste like authentic tirimisu at all. I am a bit skeptical about the claims that the restaurant is originally from Italy. Ambience was good and service was really friendly. I also ordered a sparkling rose which was very nice. I would try this place again if a friend suggested going here, to see if I have a better experience.

Yelp
I was eagerly awaiting to try this place. When they first opened, their pizza oven wasn't installed yet and they were only open for dinner. Now, the pizza oven is working and they're open for lunch! We walked in and were seated at a table by the window. Having dined at Sushirrito (the previous business that occupied the same space), I thought they did a great job decorating the place. The space was clean, casual yet chic. I shared the arugula salad and a margarita DOP pizza, which had buffalo mozzarella. The arugula salad was perfectly dressed with just the right amount of honey vinaigrette and there were slices of pear and Parmigiano Reggiano to make the salad far from mundane. It was light and refreshing! It complemented the pizza, which was outstanding by the way! The dough speaks for itself! When you pick up a slice, the toppings don't tumble off and the crust stands on its own. It also has a good chew! The house made chili oil was delicious! It paired really well with the pizza. Other people in my party ordered the braised chicken entrée and the margarita pizza with prosciutto. They both enjoyed their meals as well! This place is not inexpensive, but we definitely got our money's worth with quality ingredients. The server was very nice and ensured our meals came out quickly, knowing that we were on a time crunch for lunch. Chef Momo also thanked us for dining there! I can't wait to go back and try their pasta!

Yelp
Went here for dinner last night! The place is super Busy in the heart of Redwood City! Amazing people great food! The owner came down and thanked us for our visit asked for feedback. The server KK really took the time to explain the dishes to us and gave us a little insight on the restaurants history. Everyone was very proactive alert and giving in there 100% you could tell that it is a close knit team. For a new and busy restaurant it was really well managed. Although we didn't have a reservation we managed to get a seat. Loved the pizzas and the pasta. Very light and did not feel carb overloaded when we left. Would highly recommend! Thank you to the owner, our server KK and team Cardamomo for an amazing experience we will be back soon!

Yelp
Competition for Vesta? In any case, we had excellent pizza here. Nice crust and a delicious slightly spicy kick to every bite of the marinara pizza. Excellent panini. Service was friendly, despite the dinner rush. Could be a tad faster. Seems to be kid-friendly, though also saw lots of couples on dates. Really like their "clean food" philosophy. Would come back to try other dishes.

Yelp
Good service and unique fresh flavors! Definitely try the Sarika pizza if you enjoy a slight kick - delicious and the favorite of everyone in our party. We were too full to try dessert but will be back for the strawberry and pistachio tiramisu. Only downside was our table by the door which was a drafty spot.

Yelp
My wife and I made a last-minute call to eat here instead of another restaurant and we were thrilled that we did! We got a seat outside on a beautiful evening and were treated to excellent, friendly, attentive service while people-watching the downtown crowds. The food was delicious and surprising - the arancini were heavenly, my Carbonaro pizza was scrumptious, and my wife's tagliatelle Bolognese was rich and satisfying. We were also pleased with their drink selection, though we were too full for dessert. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Ambiance is inviting as we entered with a reservation. We are met with genuine smile from a lovely hostess we assume is one of the owners. It's a very family friendly place but not going amuck with unruly kids running around - no not at all - as surely the tasty pizzas will hold everyone's attention regardless of age. We started out with Local Pear Bruschetta and Beets Salad. I know beets salad has become more and more common but their beets salad was one of the best I've ever had eating out - fresh and cut just right - excellent. We then ordered 4 pizzas for a party of 4 - Margherita, Carbonara, Magica and Verura - all with excellent crust and toppings well received- and had a whole pie (combined slices) to take home. We wanted to try as many pizzas as we can without being wasteful - but next time we might narrow down the selection to 2-3 pies and mix with pasta dishes which looked delightful as we observed our neighboring tables. The service is probably hit or miss due to the business of the place BUT the vibe is positive. Each serving staff seems to be putting out the effort and trying their best to please - which is appreciated. We plan to return to try pasta dishes and perhaps even some dessert next time. As far as pizzas, which two ? It's a dilemma!!
