The food was yummy!! I was worried that the pesto would overpower the pizza, but the combination with something sweet made it perfect. My husband loved the variety of beers, and the meatballs were delicious. Our waiter was fantastic!

Ordered pizza for delivery. What made them pull these pizzas out of the oven and decide to deliver them to me? They are completely burnt. I did not ask for charcoal flavored pizza. Not to mention the delivery driver delivered the pizza else where and we had to go look for them but that's not the restaurants fault as it was delivered through Uber Eats. Not a good experience with this place

As one of the only places in town to offer Detroit style pizza, I was pretty disappointed with this carry out. It was burnt so the cheese was basically non-existent. For $26, I would have expected better. UPDATE: I’d like to comment that the manager contacted me within 24 hours of posting this review to make things right and offer another pizza. My family was gobbling it up before I could get a pic, but I did manage to get a picture of it half gone. I applaud Pizzeria DeVille to reaching out quickly and redeeming themselves!

Used to be at the top of my delivery favorites but lately the prices seem so high while the quality is slipping. The 4 cheese motor city is SO GOOD…but everything else was kinda sad. Bummer. And this is $2 worth of marinara?

Try the woodfired motorina omaggio for a totally different kind of pizza. The brussel sprouts and balsamic glaze make healthy eating enjoyable. Crust is super light and crispy. Detroit style the Works: we liked how the cheese melts against the pan creating an agreeable taste sensation. Since it’s mostly cheese and crust, some kind of sauce to dip it into would be a real game changer and take it up a notch. A lot of toppings, perhaps too many. I’d probably try one with less next time. Love the long wooden benches. Would easily accommodate a large group. But we’d replace the metal plates with real dishes to eat off of. neither pizza we got really tasted like traditional “pizza.” But if you’re into trying something different with fresh ingredients, we’d recommend it for a special occasion.

I NEVER leave reviews, but this place... OMG... the only thing better than the pizza was the exceptional staff working there!! ❤️ They made you feel like you had been welcomed into their home! They genuinely care about the food they serve and the customer experience! We went right after the tree lighting, so they were incredibly busy, but the food arrived quickly and it was delicious! We had the Mama Mia! Thank you, we will DEFINITELY be back!! ❤️

Finally made it in here this past April and was a wonderful first experience. Delicious wood-fired pies in the heart of lovely downtown Libertyville. Everything here from the vibe, cleanliness of the venue, friendly staff and overall wonderful food & drinks at fair prices make this pizza joint well worth coming back to. I'm constantly on the prowl and in search of the best pizza out there and this venue has definitely some of the better tasting pizza around Lake County. I'm guessing this is a local-owned establishment which I always strive to support. I wish for continued success & prosperity for the owner(s).🍕

We have been to Pizzeria DeVille twice now and have loved it so far. Each pizza we have had so far was thoroughly enjoyed, I would recommend the margarita and the arugula. The atmosphere is loud but fitting for the style and bar area. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is due to the service we had the second time we went. It took quite a while for the server to come back for orderings and the receipt. Other than that, it's a great pizza place in the northern Chicago land area, a place we certainly will be going back to.

I haven't eaten pizza in a restaurant (since I am gluten intolerant and dairy free) in at least 10 years. I was at a function hosted at Pizzeria DeVille and was talking to Steve who said they had a delish vegan pizza. I was skeptical but tried it anyway. I was actually blown away at the creamy melted cheese and crunchy crust. I'm not a big fan of meatless products, but their vegan pepperoni was really good! Thank you Steve for your recommendation! I will be a repeat customer.

Yeah fk this place wasting customers time not giving out uber orders because they don't have a bag. Asking me to buy one get tf out of my face. -10/5 stars and it smells in the front

Fist time there for lunch. Got there about 1230 plenty of seating available. Big selection of pre designed combinations of wood fire and detroit style pizza. We chose the triple pepperoni. Was super fast. Lots of oil to be expected and had a drizzle of hot honey. Crust was excellent as was the pepperoni. Friendly service with full bar and local draft selections. Overall good and we'll be back to try some more.

I went to Pizzeria DeVille today for the first time. We went in for lunch and we nearly had the place to ourselves. Ali H. took great care of us and provided excellent service. She was able to explain in great detail the differences between the three pepperonis they offer. We loved the pizza! The crust was awesome, the sauce was tasty and the cheese was perfection. The interior of the restaurant was very nice. I've been driving by for years and I'm mad at myself for missing out of this great pizza for so long. The menu had plenty of other options that I want to try. The whole table left full and saying that we would definitely return to Pizzeria DeVille.

Pizza used to be excellent, but the quality has definitely gone down after a change of ownership. Not terrible, but wouldn't be my first pick--maybe Galatti's?

Our family is normally split when it comes to picking a style of pizza so there is always one unhappy camper! I decided it was time to branch out in search of something everyone enjoyed. So we tried this place because they have all styles, thin, deep, Detroit AND as a vegetarian household we also discovered they have plant based meat! This is a game changer for us and I appreciate when establishments offer something special for us vegetarians and not just cheese or veggie. And the pizza did not disappoint it was fresh with the perfect sauce to cheese ratio! It reminded of us the nice upscale pizza places we were used to in Chicago especially with all the cool ingredient options like ricotta, pistachio, hot honey, vegan pepperoni and vegan cheese! The photos I included don't have the vegan cheese but it's there if you want it. Next time we're going to head into this restaurant for bingo night on Tuesdays!

Lived in the area for a few years now and have not tried this spot until tonight. I was missing out on some delicious pizza. My wife and I got the arugula and prosciutto while my son got a pepperoni. Only 20 minutes turn around time from when we ordered until it was ready. We will definitely dine in next time. Again, delicious delicious, delicious

After seeing a Yelper's photos recently of some deep dish pizza, I expressed a wish for some Detroit-style pizza with lots of tomato sauce and cheese. Someone in my household thought it would be interesting to sample several pizzas in a pizza war, pitting pizza against pizza, slice vs slice in a palate popping duel to the stomach (not my idea, I would have been happy with one decent slice). Contender #2 was having a 2-for1 special so two pizzas arrived via delivery. One was a square pan style and the other was a Margarita pizza. This was more what I had in mind, thick and pillowy crust, crunchy cheese edges, nice application of sauce and pepperoni, cheesy. I would have preferred a bolder sauce but otherwise very good. Definitely should go to the restaurant to eat this fresh out of the oven. Unfortunately this sat on the porch for a little because it was delivered immediately after the first pizza and we didn't know it was there (our bad). Pizzeria Deville you got my vote.

Here for Tuesday night bingo on New Year's Eve. Me and the gf drove an hour to get here just for the bingo. What can I say my lady loves bingo. Got here early around 4:35pm bingo starts at 5 ends at 7. Great prizes! Got a Detroit style pizza. It was delish We're having an amazing time! I will say there's a specific server don't know her name but she shows her tummy a bit which I don't understand why...you're working with food... Over all wish they were a bit more attentive.

Always have to try every single pizza place I see! It wasn't a planned appearance, but while walking downtown Libertyville, we were looking for a fun place to eat and the smell brought us in. We were greeted by friendly servers and staff and our drinks came quickly. The menu had all type types of pizzas, but we had to try the Detroit style. It was phenomenal! Our server was attentive and fast, and every pizza that passed by our table just looked better than the other. We had a great time and the food and drinks were amazing so we will definitely be back.

We were looking for a place to get carry out pizza and found this place. It was getting close to their closing time but they said not a problem and took our order. We got one Detroit style and one wood fired and both of them were a 10/10 and that's no joke. The best part about the whole experience was the staff and owner were there when we walked in 5 minutes to close and welcomed us with open arms. They asked us if we wanted to finish watching the football game while we waited for the Detroit style to finish up. We are from out of town but if this gem was in my hometown I would be there multiple times a week, not only for the food but especially the service. If I could give 10 stars I would!

a friend and i tried pizzeria DV on a cold night last week. reservations are accepted and we were greeted and seated immediately. the menu's star is pizza, of course, and we ordered a wood fired personal pizza (10") marguerita (for me) and chicken pesto for my friend. the server checked the kitchen and also brought us side salads withe basic vegetables, which was great, as it's not on the menu. they have a full bar and the interior is great: high ceilings, wooden beams, and lots and lots of firewood (for cooking pizzas). the restaurant was clean and tables are well spaced, yet cozy. the pizzas arrived with blistered crusts and piping hot. my gold standard is a marguerita and this one was very very good. just a note: i ordered a red wine vinaigrette for my dressing and it was exceptional. my friend said the bathroom sparkled and was well stocked (soaps/towels, etc.). we never felt rushed and our server was great. there is a parking area found behind the restaurant, and many people were coming and going with takeout pizza boxes. the menu is big, and by no means limited to pizza: subs, weekend brunch, complex salads, appetizers, charcuterie boards, a kids menu!--a great deal of yummy choices. definitely worth a visit!

Eh, not great. Have been to PD several times since it's inception over the years, this was the first time under new ownership. Went with a party of 6, a third of us had gluten-free appetizers (broccoli and brussel sprouts), as well as gf pizzas, one chicken and one vegetarian with arrugala (they were just okay). The rest had chicken meatball appetizers (still tasty, but the meat balls are tiny), Detroit-style pizza was spicy, the other two tasted fine (a meat one and a goat cheese one). It was a warm evening and the restaurant was hot and uncomfortable. Server was friendly and responsive, but unfamiliar with their limited menu. The alcohol-free specialty drinks tasted like Mio added to sparkling water...not great. Use to be better and the lack of customers on a Saturday night kinda showed that.

Reasonably priced wood fire pizza in downtown libertyville! Would probably recommend eating this type of pizza in rather than takeout. They have great specials most days of the week too. One star off because we really felt there was inconsistency in the different pizzas. The herbivore was amazing, but the Wooster classic was not too great and pretty thin. The Maa pizza was indeed very interesting but it wasn't everyone's cup of tea. The Detroit style pizzas were pretty good.

Sadly, Pizzeria Deville has gone downhill since it reopened. The quality and freshness of the food has rapidly deteriorated. The sliders we ordered were made with ground beef that had been allowed to sit out for hours, drying out the beef and making it almost impossible to eat the burgers. This establishment is a health hazard and can no longer recommend. If you want a good local pie, try Finn's, Bills Pub, or Morgan's.

This place is awesome. The pizza is the best in Libertyville. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. But the parking is in another lot on the side as the restaurant is right off street so no attached lot. The only thing is the diet Coke I like is in cans as they have no fountain. But it's free refills so not bad.

My family and I literally left before water was even put down on the table. My family and I showed up at 5:10 for 5:15 reservation and there were multiple table that would accommodate us, but the "manager" asked us to go down into the basement. There was literally not another soul downstairs and the waiter was confused as to why we were seated downstairs. We said we thought that the host was giving us a quiet space but that we were uncomfortable being the only ones down there. The waiter told me to ask the hostess if we could move upstairs. So i did, and she said "absolutely! tell your family to come up". We moved upstairs. Once we sat down, the manager came running up and yelled at us for moving. my mother, on MOTHER's DAY, told him that the hostess told us we could move and he continued to yell at her. he shouted about having to save this table for larger groups coming later, and that the hostess didn't have the authority to allow us to move. he said we should be happy to be in the basement alone. Had he been less rude, we would have stayed but the way he spoke to my mother was absolutely unacceptable.

I honestly don't think this deserves the low rating. Service was good, love the rustic decor, the thin crust pizza was good. I like the brussels sprout and bacon (except I swapped it with anchovies) we got. The detroit style pizzas were tasty. The jalapeno one really get a kick! And it really got a crusty crust. They were so tasty that even though somehow my sensitive stomach got upset after eating it, I still finished our leftover. Love the weekdays deals they have.

Cancelled our order right before dinner time zero warning or reason as to why. We had to eat dinner super late waiting for another place to deliver. Cranky toddler and super upset parents

Writing this review is painful because the food is good. What you have here is an understaffed restaurant with marginal service. To be fair, we have visited here no less than a dozen times including dine in and carry out. For dine in, twice we left after waiting 15 minutes to be greeted by a server. For carry out, the order took double the estimated time on multiple occasions. Happy to wait, but at home not in the small waiting area. When the service is good, the experience is good. However, that is the exception to the rule. Severely understaffed and in need of some active management. Again, good food, but go in with your eyes open because you may be looking around and waiting for a while.

First, let me ask you a question: if you own a restaurant and I brought you 20 people for lunch, would you charge me $3.50 for a slice of lime? Or $1 for a side of ranch dressing? No? Well maybe you could chat up the folks at DeVille. Terrible pizza. If you got a frozen pizza from the store and put it in a wood fire grill, you got DeVille. Ghastly food. I mean seriously. I confess I can be a pizza snob. I don't know why you would open a Detroit style pizza place here. But whatever. Here's the thing though, I can't imagine that's what they serve out East. I have friends out there and they've done the comparison. They've all said it's not Chicago, but it's good. This was not. And that ranch, I had to ask for it twice, it was never mentioned that it would be an additional charge. It wasn't even enough to fill a ramekin. Maybe a tablespoon at best. I don't want to talk about the waitstaff, but when I was serving, I would have advised if there were "hidden" charges. We went for the buffet and the drinks weren't included. I feel like I should have guessed something was off when I couldn't find the price of this "buffet". I have a meeting in that neighborhood every week and we never discussed going to DeVille, now I get why. Really bad form.

The pizza is wood fired pizza!! Love it!! The chop salad was amazing. The atmosphere is comfortable and not fussy. The wait staff are all very friendly. It's a win win. I'll be back.

Great food and atmosphere. We've ordered to go a few times and have dined in. The gluten free pizza is amazing!

We made reservations a week ago for a large group in a private room. No advanced warning, the room wasn't available when we arrived. If they had air conditioning it wasn't working, and it was so hot that a couple of people left without getting their food. Waited more than an hour for the food, the waiter showed up sporadically, and in the end orders were still missing and we had to ask for them. No apologies, no explanations. It was even hard to get the bills. Other tables ordered, were served and left, and the place was pretty much empty when we finally were able to leave.. The food was...unmemoriable The final indignity was a 20% tip added to the bill for nonexistent service. Compared to this place McDonald's would have been a ten.

Pizza but I guess they are under new ownership because I wanted to use a gift card we have and they said we couldn't because it was under new ownership which now I have $100 dollars on these gift cards that can't be used Probably won't go back it's okay pizza but our gift cards and poor service there are so many other pizza places that you can go to

Pizzeria DeVille has absolutely the best wood fire oven pizza I have ever had! I'm a major foodie that has traveled across the world and has also experienced various pizza/Italian spots within the state. Pizzeria DeVille is better than any wood fire pizza place in Chicago, hands down! For one, it's family owned and a locals favorite. You never can go wrong with that! Downtown libertyville is a charming area and this restaurant has plenty of that charm. The interior is very rustic and wooden. It makes for a very "homey" environment. Our server, Bryce, was full of personality and enthusiasm! He was very knowledgeable about the menu and made our experience so wonderful. Pizzeria DeVille has a full wine, beer, and cocktail menu! As well as a bar with seating inside! We enjoyed a Moscow mule and margarita. On to the most important facts, the food. The Maaa Pie Pizza has goat cheese, spinach, fig jam, caramelized onions, and pistachios. THIS WAS THE BEST PIZZA COMBINATION I HAVE EVER HAD! I will return every month just to have more of this pizza. The savory goat cheese with the sweet from the fig jam and the crunch from the pistachios... out of this world delicious! We also enjoyed a red sauce pizza with shaved meatball... wow, those meatballs are spectacular! If you're a sucker for quality meatballs and homemade marinara, try the appetizer, you will not regret it! But the best appetizer I have to say were the Brussels sprouts!!! Coated with bacon and a maple balsamic ... SPECTACULAR!!!! We were pleasantly told that every Tuesday is $12 pizzas and they donate the remaining funds to their charity! So any large or small is $12 which is an incredible deal! I highly encourage you come to Pizzeria DeVille for their charming ambiance, delicious flavors and fun vibes!

We use their downstairs party room for gatherings, and can't say enough about the pizza and yummy appetizers - Charcuterie boards, brussel sprouts, hummus with veggies and toasted bread, drinks... The service, too, is always responsive and allows for us to plan our content while all guests receive what they want. Also, the hosts are happy for you to bring table decorations or what you need to set a theme downstairs, and also have working AV if you need to share anything. Highly recommend this venue for groups up to 50 (but please let team know in advance, so they are not overwhelmed)!

The pizza came out perfect. Great service with a smile. Could not ask for a better night. Bingo nights on Tuesday are a must!

Great service great tasting food very new clean look in the refresher line is amazing. The new owner JR Escobar is very involved in every day business can't wait to come back.

Thank you to Pizzeria DeVille for being extremely accommodating for my daughter's birthday party. For those of you unaware, there's a party space on the lower level. The staff was amazing and a special thank you to Niko for all the help! The pizza was great, the service was great and fun was had by all. We will be back!

I have to say this pizza tastes fresh and amazing! The hot honey square is spicy! The pepperoni was my favorite. The prize of the Yankees was a close second. The wait time was a little long about 20 minutes. But it's made fresh and delicious. The Sunday deal was buy 2 get one free! We went right when the location opened so there was only one other party on the store. It's quite but lively. The pizza oven gives the room a happy feeling! I will absolutely be back!

Another great meal here. Came for lunch and was intending to do their lunch special but ended up getting a small Caesar salad and a large Pepperoni Due pizza. Pepperoni has never been my thing for some reason but the hot honey trend has me eating it, and loving it. The salad was solid. The pizza was perfect and cravable. Nice chewy crust, ample toppings, and there's something about the sauce that just hits all the right notes. This was another great pie at Deville. Service, like my visits before, was warm and attentive. That's lately hard to find so kudos to the staff and the owners. The person helping me today could have easily been robotic but made my time there more enjoyable. Thanks!

New management, new review. Had two pizzas delivered. Very good, pizzas were actually better than before. This will now go into our Friday night pizza rotation. We got the larger size, next time will go with the smaller.

Fantastic. We did the buy two get one. Sat inside to wait in them and had a Dragon Milk. Service was excellent and pizza was perfect. Ma pizza, meatball pizza and arugula pizza. All three fantastic. I'm a fan. Not much going on inside but everything is fresh and fantastic 2nd time enjoying food from here. I'm a fan. Service was great as well friendly and attentive. I'll be back for sure. Try this place. It's worth it.

Great pizza if you know how to order. Say : please don't burn it. More saucy Mushrooms are outstanding they do big slices of portobello. Yumm Eat it there, before it gets soggy. They can't help that

I ordered 2 pizzas last evening for pickup. Pride of the Yankees Pizza and Pleased to Meet You pizza. I understand it was Saturday night and they were very busy but both pizzas were cold and the Pleased To Meet you was burned. I've had this pizza before and when properly done it's great. My suggestion is to avoid pick up orders during busy weekends.

The few negative reviews...I don't get it. This place was SO GOOD! Food was amazing, very friendly and efficient service, and the owner (John) was the nicest guy! He even gave me is email address and told me to send him an email and he will send me the recipes for his meatballs Al forno, buffalo chicken meatballs, and his pizza dough. We also got the "pride of the Yankees " pizza. While it pains me to admit that I ordered this because I'm a Cubs fan, the pizza was one of the best pizzas I've had. Highly recommend this place and it will be on my list of places to visit the next time we're in town.

We're always super satisfied when we eat at Pizzeria DeVille. We really enjoy the Wooster pizza (and add mozzarella cheese). My husband has ordered the 4 cheese motor city pizza and liked that as well. The Maa salad is delicious and the individual service is generous and super reasonably price. This is one of our favorite pizza places around!

The staff was very friendly and did a nice job. The pizza in comparison to others that I've had in the area was just solid. It was flavorful and good, but not the best in the area. I would definitely go back to this place for a nice meal on occasion.
