Wanting to try great pizza in Naples, we waited 40 minutes at 1:30 PM on a Sunday. Once we were seated, we saw that the operation was a well-oiled machine that focused on expeditious service.
We knew what we wanted and we ordered quickly. We decided to split the Diavolo pizza, which had spicy salami, mozzarella, tomato, and basil. The wait was short and it was served hot, right out of the oven. I think our expectations were high and we were both a little underwhelmed. I mean, the pizza was good but so was most of the pizza that we'd tried all over Italy. The one thing we both commented on was the crust. It was absolute perfection - soft, slightly chewy, and a little charred. Unfortunately, the middle of our pie was soggy, which is always an issue for me.
On the bright side, this place was inexpensive, friendly, and they had a relatively clean bathroom. If you want to try it, stand in line as the crowd moves fast.
