I was super excited to finally visit Pizzeria Libretto as it is one of a very few places with an Italian style pizza. Coming from Europe, it’s a real treasure for me, and I wasn’t disappointed. We ordered Margarita with pepperoni, and Prosciutto with arugula. Both pizzas were really delicious. I must shoot out to the server who was extremely friendly, welcoming, and smiling the whole visit. We will be definitely back.

Stopped in for lunch. Was surprised by a lunch special on the menu which was awesome. Pizza and salad or sandwich and salad. Both great value. The food came out quickly and was tasty. The salad was a generous portion and was full of pear and walnuts. Very tasty. The pizza was a perfect lunch size. Was good. Good price aa well. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable. Great place to meet a friend and have a catch up lunch. Overall was very pleased with the experience and will go back.

Google
I went because of the great reviews, but was really disappointed. We ordered two pizzas and they were OK at best. I wouldn't even call them good. They were so basic, I couldn't believe they were made in a special oven and not just frozen pizza. I would not go again or recommend this restaurant.

Really nice Italian spot- nice drinks, good service and ambience. We got the Espresso Martini Cocktail. We also got a Caesar Salad and the Lemon Ricotta Pizza and everything tasted really good.

Went for dinner at Pizzeria Libretto before a comedy show down the street. I usually get Neapolitan but tried the NY-style hot sopressata, which is more my speed. Great pizza, generous size, definitely worth the visit.

Absolutely incredible pizza! The restaurant was clean and bright and the service was amazing. Definitely going back

Google
Pizza was good. I ordered the lemon ricotta on a GF crust. The gluten free crust was much better than most but still lacked flavor. My kids split a pizza and enjoyed it very much. It was very relaxed in there. Staff was very friendly and kind. Only complaint was a hair plastered to the inside of my cup that grossed me out but these things happen. I would eat here again but not often because it is a little on the pricier side for pizza. They do have some interesting flavor options though that I would like to try in the future.

Came here on a Wednesday evening for dinner. We ordered their calamari, Homemade sausage pizza and virgin pineapple iced tea. The calamari was overcooked - it was very chewy and the batter separated from the calamari itself. We've had better tasting calamari from other places. The homemade sausage pizza was underwhelming - the crust was a little undercooked and chewy where it was hard to even cut it with a knife. We expected the crust to be a bit more crispy and the pizza overall to be more flavourful. Flavour was just average, nothing special about it. The Virgin pineapple iced tea tasted just okay as well. Could barely taste the pineapple flavour. Overall, we expected more for the price we paid - more flavour and better taste. Will probably take a while to come back here again.

Yelp
On a Sunday afternoon in December, I made a trek out to Danforth for a progressive lunch. Pizzeria Libretto was the final destination. I'd dined at their Ossington Ave location years before and was eager to return for more VPN brick-oven goodness. I was astounded to be the only patron inside! But was treated to excellent service by the crew. After serious deliberation, I settled on the Sweet and Spicy Salami pizza, with roasted garlic cream, ricotta, oregano, basil, calabrian chili, and hot maple. Literal perfection in every way! Finished every last bite and almost decided to buy a pie for the road. Since then, at least once a week, I think, "Oh, I wish I could get Libretto today!"

Yelp
Very disappointing. I've had the same experience over several visits: a half-empty restaurant with a bunch of servers standing around the kitchen, waiting for the pizzas to come out of the oven. No water, no follow-up on drinks orders. The timing is way off - the pizzas for a group of four came out over the course of 30-40 minutes, with some waiting on the pass for a long time. I think a big problem is that so much of their business is now given over to delivery services - they seem to prioritize these over the people sitting in the restaurant.

Yelp
Looking for a great pizza spot nearby and decided to come by here with a friend. After circling around the block a couple times to find green P parking, we finally arrived for lunch. I ordered the duck confit pizza which interestingly comes with pear slices as a topping. The crust was thin and crispy, but I think the pear was a weird combination with the duck. It wasn't horrible, perhaps it's just my preference of not having hot fruit paired with meat and pizza. Perhaps I should have picked a more basic flavour? All in all, the pizza was on the pricier side, small portioned and tasted just decent. I probably wouldn't go out of my way again for this pizza..

Yelp
Quarantine Day 1: After a long and hectic travel schedule, I needed a lot of food but also something healthy to treat my body right. That means pizza and a salad! I ordered off UberEats for this delivery. All of the food was packaged in compostable packaging. The pizza boxes were sealed with a sticker. I did like that the dressings and sauces were nestled in with the food it was supposed to go with. Sometimes they are all included on the side and I'm not sure what to match with what. The Caprese Salad was very fresh and bright. The heirloom tomatoes were thick sliced and meaty. The mozzarella equally so. I only used half the dressing but it was light enough that the flavours of the individual ingredients really came through. The Funghi pizza had a creamy sauce and had an earthy flavour with all the mushrooms. The Pepperoni was a little more what you'd expect with a red sauce and mozzarella but hit the spot perfectly. Both pizzas were a thinner crust. I liked the crust a lot since it wasn't crisped like a cracker and it wasn't bread-like.

Yelp
Of all the pizzas I had tasted in my life from New York to Chicago I would highly say that this is the second best pizza I have ever tasted. (nothing beats Di Michelle in Naples). Real Italian pizza thin crust chewy and sauce very tasty not too sour. Their cheese is better than other gourmet pizza places and the Hawaiian pizza is also top notch. We also have a side orders of Caesar salad which a unique twist adding some kale and calamari is very tender. We finish our gourmet delight with theirs homemade tiramisu which I highly recommend it's not too sweet and too coffee flavor. Even though we are not very pleased finding a hair on our pepperoni pizza I would had given this a 4 stars. Will definite come back hoping finding an extra pepperoni on our pizza instead of someone's hair.

Yelp
I love this location, it always has a vibe going and the upstairs space is centred by their gorgeous pizza oven. Hadn't visited since before the pandemic, so it was nice to see it very busy on this night. We were seated downstairs as a result. The space is nice, but it's more quiet and intimate. It doesn't have the same vibe as upstairs, so if you're on a date, or want a quiet dinner, ask to be seated there. We had delicious traditional Neapolitan pizzas, pizzas, beet and burrata salad appetizers. The service was excellent as usual, but you should be aware that they've changed the menu. They've added new style pizzas and taken pasta off the menu. It was a little disappointing as I always enjoyed their gnocchi. Overall I recommend this place. A little pricy, but worth it.

Yelp
Great pizza, lively atmosphere and superb service. A lot to come back for many times. Not much more to add, this is an Italian pizza place that gives many pizzerias in NY a run for their money!

Yelp
We catered from Pizzaeria Libretto the day before our wedding for our wedding party. The food was amazing, and Myles (General Manager) made it easy for us by walking us through the catering process, and making sure the food was delivered on time. The guests loved the pizza! Thanks Myles & Pizza Libretto!

Yelp
Let me start by saying I was in the food industry for many years. I ordered takeout, and pizza was ok (understanding the quality deteriorates with a bit of travel), but this salad is a sad state of affairs! $16+tax for this salad. I can see the bottom of the container and it looks like it's been sitting in heat for an hour! Never again.... Maybe serves me right for even ordering a salad!

John B.

Yelp
Four of us came and ordered several pizzas. One was the large New York style, with mushrooms and two of vegan pizzas. Our server, Cory, was gracious, friendly, helpful and professional. The NY pizza crust was particularly tasty. (It's that fermentation!). The wine recommendation was spot on. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Burned pizza every time. Too bad. Outerwise nice, fun place if a bit overpriced including cocktails and dessert.

Yelp
It has been a few weeks since I was back from Toronto, and I already missed its food and vibe. I want to share by far my favourite restaurant in Toronto, Pizzeria Libretto. There are various locations, and we went to one just steps away from our house on Danforth. It wasn't too busy on a weekend evening, and it is spacious with comfortable seating. Our server is nice and friendly, and he also provided some amazing recommendations among the wide selection from the menu. Pizzeria Libretto is highly recommended by Mr., and he was happy to visit again. We ordered an Antipasto Misto, which is similar to a charcuterie board. I was surprised by its portion and the varieties of meat and cheese on the board. It has olives, prosciutto di parma, salumi e formaggi, fresh burrata, paneto, and housemade accompaniments. It also comes with few types of cheese and breadsticks to pair with the meat. I totally recommend ordering this to share, as it is totally worth the value than ordering appetizers separately. You will be amazed by the portion and its price. We also ordered two pizzas to share. We ordered Funghi Di Bosco from the pizza bianca, and Spicy Pepperoni Ricotta Pizza from the feature menu. We were excited to try the Duck Confit, but it was sold out. The Funghi di Bosco first arrived, and it highlights three types of mushrooms - cremini, oyster, and king and three kinds of cheese - pecorino, fior di latte, and gorgonzola. We also added an egg for $1 (weekend special). The first few bites are delicious, but it gets heavy after due to the cheese. I added a bit of spicy chili oil, which eases out the heaviness and also gives a kick to the flavor. I love the slightly-burnt crust because it has a nice crunch and is just perfect to pair with the white pizza sauce. I enjoyed more of the Spicy Pepperoni Ricotta Pizza more. Its base is san marzano tomato sauce. It also uses shredded mozzarella, fior di latte, and whipped ricotta. The crust is as amazing, but the toppings have a nice heat, and the pizza is more flavourful. As this pizza is on the feature menu, so I am not sure if I can still order the same item again. *** Overall Impression *** Being one of my favourite restaurants during the trip, Pizzeria Libretto wins my heart by its wide selection of pizzas, with a unique combination of toppings, as well as the Antipasto Misto. This sharing board has everything you need while waiting for the freshly made pizzas. The quality and varieties of meat and cheese on the board definitely wow us. I also wanted to try the Duck Confit pizza, as it is another highly recommended pizza from Mr. and his friend. I would definitely return and try other pizzas on the menu and find my most favourite one! Taste : 4.5/5 * Service: 5/5 * Ambiance: 4.5/5 * Quality-Price: 5/5

Yelp
Came for dinner with a group of 11 people on a Friday night. The place was loud and buzzing with activity. It was nice to see they had a private space downstairs that could accommodate us. Service was great (I think his name was Josh) and the pizzas were delicious! Nice selection of flavourful combinations. The pizzas were not overly salty and the crust had a nice chew, almost like naan dough. The really nice surprises were dessert. We had a blood orange sorbet which was awesome! And the Tiramisu was divine! Nice to know their desserts were all made in house. Will be coming back again.

Yelp
I am not sure if this is the case but we have been told that this location uses a wood oven for the pizza whereas the one at 155 University uses a gas one (due to being inside a commercial building & fire code). We ordered the lunch special - Arugula Salad, Marinara Pizza, and Gelato, and it was delicious. We wouldn't say it's the best pizza but it's definitely above par. The place was rather quiet as we arrived early for lunch on a weekday (11 am-ish). But by the time we leave, it's more crowded and it's getting rather noisy. The service was not the best but acceptable.

Yelp
Nice sit down restaurant. Celebrated a birthday here. The ice cream and biscotti was a nice touch. The prices are average. Taste is okay. Parts of the pizza were a little on the burnt side

Yelp
Food is ok, service is meh. Worse is, I introduced my friends to Libretto and they left feeling unimpressed. There are 4 of us, the waiter only got 2 out of our 4 orders. We ordered a salad, calamari and 2 pizzas, Hawaiana and Duck Confit, all to share. The salad arrived and we got the Duck Confit pizza next. Out of curiosity, I asked the waiter if the calamari would come because we thought calamari was under appetizer. We didn't really mind how the order arrived but my instinct told me to just ask and make sure. When asked, he said he didn't hear our calamari order and said he had repeated his order to us - sorta blaming us for not listening carefully to his repeat. We were kinda surprised with his remarks. I wouldnt mind if he missed our order, that's the purpose of me asking. He took the two missed order and food arrived shortly. Fine. Then, after we finished our last bite, the waiter came back, barging into the midst of conversation asking if we would like dessert. It was really abrupt because we were all looking at one another awkwardly. We said yes to dessert, he gave us the dessert menu and left. We tried to laugh off the awkward moment then our attention shifted to the dessert menu that seemed to be printed upside down. Our waiter came back, took our orders and abruptly pulled the dessert menu while my friend was still looking at it. My friend just laughed. We just couldnt believe the service we were getting. So awkward, impatient, and sorta rude for blaming customers when you didn't hear our order carefully. Seriously, I don't know if its the service that put a bitter taste in my tongue. Libretto just doesn't taste as good anymore. I'll go for neopolitan pizza somewhere else. There has been a lot mushroming in the city and much better ones too.

Yelp
Seriously thin crust Italian pizza, with fresh ingredients. 4-5 variety of Veggie pizza, and others mostly pork, no chicken pizza! Love their margarita and cremenie mushroom pizza a lot. The place has an awesome salad and starters menu, all are must try with so many vegetarian options, Aranchini my favourite! A railbar, which basically means customized drink, along with decent house wines and some regular wines. On tap beer available. I see fancy dessert list but haven't tried yet. Go with a reservations on weekend, there could be wait for upto 1 hour. Parking on Danforth is generally not a big issue, but if no street parking is available go to small greenP parking lots all around Danforth. Ambiance is decent too. I have been to 3 of its location and love the Danforth one most.

Yelp
I was there on Dec 30th 5:30, 2023 and the hostess that was working that day took a very unfriendly tone with myself and my family, she was a dark haired, young, small female. They had taken down my reservation for the wrong day, which is ok- accidents happen...but her snobbish, haughty, tone in which she questioned us if we could eat and be out in under an hour was SUPER unfriendly! And we could've ate in under an hour, but it was the rude way she asked us. Especially considering they messed up our reservation. It prompted us to leave, as it did not feel good, and we no longer wanted to celebrate my husbands birthday there. No class, no manners.. We were in no way deserving of that interaction; we were not unfriendly to her in any way, shape, or form, in fact we assumed it was fine because the restaurant was not even half full at 5:30 pm!... We went to the Pizza place next door. Total loss to their sales about 500 bucks- because we were going to EAT DRINK and be Merry but her rudeness legit drove us away! I love their pizza, but I love GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE more! Manners should definitely be a prerequisite if you are front of house staff...because it comes with a bad review. :(

Yelp
Woooooow. Okay so a friend and I (mostly me) took forever to decide on a good pizza place. I just wanted a simple marghuerita pizza, made the old fashioned way and not the chain pizza way. We decided to pick Pizzeria Libretto based on yelp reviews from other pizza/Italian joints. SO WE GOT HERE. It seemed really busy. It took them 5 minutes to approach us and sit us down. The servers were nice. We ordered the prosciutto di parma & arugula - basil, mozzarella, grand padano and arugula. Honestly the pizza was bleh, my friend liked it. We should've went with the doppia marghuerita. BUT the star of the meal was the bread they served us before the meal. I kid you not, I thought the bread was amazingly delicious and better than the actual 'za. I asked one of the servers what kind of bread it is and he said it's the rosemary focaccio. He even offered to sell it to me if there's leftovers at the end of the night. I'm like, alright! We were one of the two tables left at the end of the night and he brings out this gigantic loaf of bread. The server asks me how I'd like it to be cut, but then I asked him how much it would be. He said it was complimentary - WHAT?! I responded with, OKAY I'll take half then. I'll honestly say it's the best bread I've ever had in my life. It's soft and fresh on the inside. Very aromatic from the rosemary. And that's how I carried my food baby home.

Yelp
There's a few locations for this Pizzeria, but I believe this one was the first. The Danforth is a pretty busy place so the biggest annoyance I found was parking. They do get busy so make sure you reserve in advance, especially in the evenings. My friends and I went in around 4pm, it was very quiet. The first thing we ordered was the Calamari (one of my favorite appetizers) Libretto has a great way of doing Calamari; frying it in a buttermilk coating and serving it with a red pepper almond sauce. We then ordered 4 Pizzas (we usually do a rotation so everyone can try a new pizza). We ordered the Diavola, Nduja, Soppressata, and Melanzae. The Diavola is the one I would highly recommend; spicy salami, chili, onion & Kalamata Olives. The most interesting one was the Soppressata with Garlic, Soppressata Salami and Cayenne Infused Maple Syrup. My only complaint was after the Calamari, our pizza's took at least 35 minutes which in my opinion was way too long. They did however apologize and treated us to some Biscotti which was okay. Keep Eating, Angela

Yelp
First off, YUM!!! I was lucky to be taken here by some friends for lunch and I was blown away by everything! The food, the service, the ambience, I did not want to leave. They have a special lunch set which includes an appetizer salad, margarita pizza (or any pizza with added $$$) and dessert for $16.95. It's a pretty sweet deal for lunch. They have my favourite salad in the world too which is a caprese made with BEETS instead of tomatoes! I watched my friend have it while I sat with regret. However, I ordered the duck confit gourmet pizza which was umami. Beautiful thin crust, juicy duck shreds, braised pears, rosemary and fresh mozzarella, what more could you ask for? This was also a no tomato sauce pizza which are my favourite ones. The service was top notch and filled with some jokes. The table was set nicely and I really enjoyed the environment. I can't wait to return to Pizza Libretto and eat my way through the menu.

Yelp
"Overhype anything and you'll make a double double from In-n-out taste like a JBC from Wendy's" - Charles C., Twitter 2017 The same with Libretto. I spent a month eating great Neapolitan pizza in Italy where stone fired pies were 4€. And they tasted the EXACTLY THE SAME as Libretto. It's amazingly simple. The dough, marinara, buffalo mozzarella, basil, olive oil. All come together in a great thin concoction that can be fired up in 2 mins. Margerhita (cheese) - $15 was amazing. Diavola (Italian pepperoni/salami) - $18 can be skipped. Too much going on in this pizza - keep it simple! The frugal Charles does not approve of libretto. It pains me to write a non-80% review about a great pizza place, but the prices should be lowered by a good $5 across the board for the food served. Maybe the ovens were a large million dollar investment?

Yelp
On Point. Was craving their pizza last weekend, so went in without any reservations. Had to wait for about 30mins before we got our table. They have nice cozy tables for 2 right in front of the kitchen. You can see all the action going on right in front of you. They are a very busy restaurant therefore the kitchen is crazy busy too. I love to watch all of them working so passionately. We ordered Calamari to start, which was delicious as always. My husband ordered a Nduja Sausage pizza. Wish they had put more sausages. If you looked hard you could've found one sausage on every slice....lol. This is the only reason I am giving them 4 stars I ordered a Pepperoni pizza ans it was fully loaded with pepperoni. Was delicious Will keep going to this place over and over again.

Yelp
Great pizza, but not-so-great service. My boyfriend and I were craving some Neopolitan pizza for dinner. After looking at a couple of other places, we decided on coming to Pizzeria Libretto. The restaurant was a little busy when we arrived at 7:00 pm, but there was no wait. The restaurant is quite spacious with plenty of tables and seats at the bar. They even have tables and a private dining room downstairs, which would be great if coming with a large group. There were many families with young children, so be warned that it can get a bit loud with all the crying and screaming toddlers. Let's start this review on a good note--the food was great. We ordered the Prosciutto di Parma & Arugla and the feature pizza, which was identical to the 'Nduja Sausage but topped with some fresh tomato slices. Both pizzas tasted amazing and left us craving more. The 'nduja sausage was a little spicy and it added a nice kick in contrast to the sweet juiciness of the tomatoes. The proscuitto was equally delicious and really melted in your mouth. For dessert we got the tiramisu, which like the pizza, was delicious. It was rich and moist and the espresso-soaked layers were an absolute delight. I would easily give the food a 4.5/5, but the service was really what knocked down some stars for me. To start, the server expressed disappointment that we didn't order any appetizers, to which we kindly explained we were saving room for dessert. We waited an hour for our second pizza to arrive. We watched as tables around us were seated, ate, and left, yet we were still waiting for our food. Our server offered no apology or explanation for the wait. We waited another 20 minutes after eating to be given the dessert menu and 20 minutes for our dessert to arrive. By the time we left our legs were cramped from sitting for over 2 hours (WAY too long for a casual dinner). Other than the kids with their families, we were definitely the youngest pair in the restaurant (we're both in our early/mid-20s). All the tables around us got their food fairly quickly and was checked in on frequently, so I'm not sure if age was the reason why we received bad service. Despite the amazing food, this uncomfortable experience really turns me away from returning.

Yelp
I loved everything about my visit to the Ossington location of Pizzeria Libretto, except for the hour long wait. Enter the Danforth location which, to my delight, accepts reservations! The capacity is also a lot bigger. On this particular Saturday night, I managed to score a seat by the window at 8 pm without reservations! First off, we started with gnocchi fritti with lemon, chives and crema fresca ($5). I loved the crispiness of the fried exterior, and I thought this would be the perfect snack to go along with a pitcher of cold beer. The creamy lemon crema fresca was also super tasty, and I would definitely order this again next time. Next up, we had spicy meatballs with tomato sauce, bomba, grana padano and crostino ($9). I haven't had a lot of Italian meatballs in my life, but I have to say that this was the best I've ever had! The meatballs were incredibly juicy and bursting with rich meaty flavours, and that tomato sauce was absolutely scrumptious! I really wished I had more bread to soak up all that delicious goodness! In the end, I used the leftover sauce as a dip for my pizza crust. Not a drop went to waste! It was a hard decision to choose a pizza, but we ended up going for the daily special pepperoni pizza ($16). The pizza was just as amazing as I remembered it to be from my Ossington experience. One bite in, and I was reminded why the pies here are repeatedly voted the best in Toronto. I was so tempted to order a second pizza, but wisely resisted the urge to save room for dessert. But I'll definitely be back soon to try their famous duck pizza! We were in a bit of a sweet mood so we ordered two desserts that night- Libretto tiramisu ($7) and posset al limone ($7) with chamomile granite, citris and meringue. Both were excellent! The tiramisu (which I've had before) was a dream of creamy deliciousness adorably served in a mason jar. The lemon posset (a thickened cream dessert) also impressed me. I really enjoyed the textural mix of creamy, crunchy, and icy altogether in a bowl, topped with a refreshing addition of citrus fruits. Needless to say, the two desserts left me very satisfied. All in all, it was another sensational meal at Pizzeria Libretto! Everything- from appetizers to desserts- was executed brilliantly and I can't wait to come back for more pizza!

Yelp
Lunch Specials at $15 Monday to Friday till 5 PM. I enjoyed my experience at Pizzeria Libretto Danforth much better than the original one. The restaurant is so much more spacious... high ceiling, comfortable chairs and even a nice patio... I almost half full after I ate my Arugula Salad.... the portion is huge and have almost a whole pear inside... a little over dressed for my preference but it is GOOD! Margarhita pizza with oozing cheese and oh so fresh basil leaves.. I ate the whole thing... Espresso Gelato, what a sweet ending.. All this washed down by a glass of "Anna 6" white wine ($5) The sun is shining bright and the warm is warm... I kind of feel like I am in Naples? La vita è Bella!

Yelp
These days when I am with my kindergartener - I usually don't find my way downtown too often. So when my in-laws had taken her to CBC kids day in the summer, the opportunity was too good to pass up to take her to Libretto for dinner. I have to say they have a great kids menu and they understand what it is like to dine with young children and their parents as they combined their kids menu special with Happy Hour! So what does that mean? Their kids menu is $5 from 4 pm to 6 pm; includes a choice of a mini margherita pizza or a small pasta (butter or tomato sauce) with a scoop of gelato. The pizza was ok; maybe a little too charred for my liking. But I seem to remember it being much much better during my previous visits. No matter - my kid liked and ate all of it; which is the main thing. The service was great per usual. So a relatively cheap night out with the kids, then whisking them off to bed for their usual bed time!

Yelp
i have eaten here about... 5 times at this point? it's easily the best place for personal sized pizzas in the area, if not toronto. i always order the nduja pizza because the sausage is so incredibly flavourful and spicy, and it's filling too! this is one of my top places to take somebody when we are going out to eat on the danforth, and it always leaves them impressed

Yelp
I used to frequent this location A LOT, as I thought they had the best gluten free pizza in the city. However, one night after coming home with my delivery the pizza was half it's regular size/subpar. I contacted them and was told I would be issued a refund (I think the manger was called Laura?), as I was a loyal customer... Weeks later I still had no refund processed on my card, I called them about this and they said Laura would contact me Monday. A few weeks later, still no call still no refund. So I contacted them again, they said to apologize for the inconvenience that they would allow my order to be free for the night/that the manager would 100% contact me and then refund me for all this trouble. It's been 3 months and still nothing. I will never be returning this location. Do not tell your customers that you will be issuing a refund when you never do. You lost one of your most loyal customers forever because of this mess of management. I will forever not recommend this pizza due to this. Even if it was one of the best gluten-free crusts.

Yelp
Pizzeria Libretto is known for delicious artisan pizzas. I recommend the ones with the sauce myself, just because I've gotten a white pizza there before and found it too dry. Just my personal preference though. Do what you wish! I do recommend trying different kinds. Though I was just there for lunch and got the Diavola (Tomato, Spicy Salami, Mozzarella Di Bufala, Chili, Onion, Kalamata Olives) and so far that's been my favourite, so I will probably stick with that the next time I'm there. I can totally eat a whole pizza here, and I have, but I probably shouldn't. If you are a couple, I'd recommend getting the meatball starter and a pizza to share. For my wife and I it was the perfect amount of food.

Yelp
Ordered a Kale Caesar to go with 2 pizzas. Cost $15. Got a tiny little salad consisting of some shredded kale, a few croutons and some bacon bits. They should have stated "Salad for 1" since the $15 charge suggested something g larger. And no way to contact the business to complain. So here I am at Yelp.

Yelp
I love pizza, especially Neapolitan pizza. I've eaten more margherita pizzas here than I can count and every time my love for pizza grows stronger. We came for Valentines Day and I chose the "special pizza" with red sauce, mozzarella, basil and Cayenne maple glazed soppressata, really good, but my heart lies with the traditional margherita! The Capo Saisson was the perfect match, definitely a keeper. PS Thank you Libretto for the sweet VDay treat, a pink and white meringue

Yelp
Ate here during the Taste of Danforth after being hungry from the small sample sized foods and long lines of the festival. Pizza here are "personal sized" thin crust neopolitan style. Or two people can share and also get a side of delicious Ricotta Gnocci Fritti. I enjoyed the Duck Confit pizza with a white base instead of the usual tomato base.

Yelp
This is the best Pizza place I found in Toronto. Although I'm not a huge pizza fan, I like them here. Last time I was here, I had 3 vegetarians with me so I was outnumbered and outgunned. We ended up ordering 3 different Vege pizzas (Libretto Margherita, Marinara DOP and Cremini Mushroom) and sharing them. I wanted to try their Duck Confit pizza, maybe next time. I love their Danforth Location the most.

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice lunch here after a few medical appointments. It was busy, but making a reservation was not needed. I have been to their other two locations in the city so I knew that the food was going to be good. Location wise, it's convenient as it's steps away from the subway station. I went to the washroom in the basement and noticed that there's a party room. It looks like it's a great place to have a gathering. The only downside was the service; it took such a long time to get water or the bill, which made me super tired. I'm not impatient, but I actually found myself tapping my fingers on the table. I hope this was purely due to the fact that our server felt overwhelmed? I love the food and ambiance here (along with the other locations) so I'll be back should Libretto Danforth is the most convenient. A couple of details: - Reservations can be made on-line - $15 Lunch Set (appetizer, pizza, and dessert) Good for: lunch, dinner, pizza, wine

Yelp
Special pizza - fennel sausage and scamorza cheese. Pizzas were good. Salads average. Calamari were over cooked and hard. Service friendly.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and I ordered their lunch price fix menu. It came with an appetizer, main, and dessert for $19. That combo was perfect for one person. I had the mixed salad with the dressing on the side, the pasta, and a coffee gelato. Most people ordered their Maguerita pizza and it was huge. That pizza can be shared among two people.

Yelp
Maybe because we were hungry, but everything we ate was fantastic! The meal starts off with bread, they add a little chili oil with the olive oil and balsamic which is a nice twist. We tried the buttermilk fried calamari and it was the most amazing calamari I ever had. They pile it high on a bed of red pepper almond sauce and herb oil and we couldn't get enough. This puts generic calamari with tartar sauce to shame. The pizzas were exceptional. Even before ordering, the waitress explains how the pizzas are made so you know exactly what to expect. The ovens burn at 900 degrees Celsius and this gets a nice char on the crust but still leaves the middle soft and chewy. You won't get a nice crunch in the middle (like a good slice in new york) but it's not needed here. We tried the salami pizza and roasted cremini mushroom. The tomato sauce is so fresh (as are all the ingredients), but our favourite was the cremini mushroom pizza. It's not a tomato sauce base, but the selection of cheeses combined with roasted garlic and brown butter creates a flavour explosion. Highly recommend trying this one!

Yelp
It's a staple in the neighbourhood now and you'll wonder how you ever lived without delicious wood-fired pizza on the east side of the city. Solid 3.5 - 4 star establishment. The dining room had a great dinner buzz in the evening and the smell of crispy dough was in the air. Time to get my dinner on! I passed on the appetizer and went straight for an entree. The duck confit pie with pear and mozzarella was calling my name and I was 100% seduced. I ordered it with hesitation. One thing I really like about Pizzeria Libretto is how fast the pizzas arrive at your table. It feels like it's lightening fast from ticket order to a gorgeous looking pie under your face. I tore into the pizza and it was delicious. Lots of duck spread across the pizza and the pear added a nice sweetness/crunch to. I would say another satisfying time at the pizzeria! :-)

Yelp
Pizza Lebretto has a cool vibe and is family friendly. Really like the rugs, its a cool touch. Staff are fiendly, polite and kinda awkward. Music was cliché as it was Valentines Day. THE FOOD: DESSERT Tiramisu was tasty but the cookies were soaked to long in the coffee liquid and took on a grainy texture. But still tasted good. Portion is small. STARTERS: The homemade bread is delicious. Really honestly perfect. Calimari was small but good. Seriously is it going to kill you to add a bit more? MAIN: Pizza's were a good size and tasty. But depending on the topping chosen, I had the eggplant, the pizza was saugy. Kids pizza had hardly any cheese. Two other Pizza's we order were good and enjoyed. SPECIAL MENTION: I had the same eggplant pizza on King st and it was perfect. Eggplant tasted good and pizza soft and crispy not saugy.

Yelp
I've been here a few times - I live right off Danforth, so this is my local pizzeria. I switch between this one and Il Fornello when I want a good pizza. However, yesterday, I was very disappointed withe the 'Prosciutto and Arugula' pizza. The menu said it has cheese, but it did not specify that it was grated after the baking, not melted, and a tiny little amount (you can see from the attached picture). I want the pizza to be overflowing with melted cheese and was mislead by the description in the menu, which mentioned the grated cheese in the same manner it mentions the melted ones for other pizzas. The arugula was too much as well, and the prosciutto was really bad. I love good Italian prosciutto - dry, aged, thinly sliced so the slices are transparent and tangy. This prosciutto was wet, that's the best word, wet, pink meat, chewy and stringy. Hint: hop over to Sobeys, few blocks west, to see what good prosciutto looks and tastes like. The dough and the sauce was good, which is the main reason I come here, but the rest was lacking. My girlfriend decided to take a break from her vegetarianism for the pizza, but after one bite - she didn't want anymore, saying the prosciutto was weird and too little cheese. One reason to pay Libretto's premium pizza prices is for the top quality of the ingredients. However, that seems not to be uniform.

Yelp
Pizzeria libretto was a cute little spot on the Danforth with a small, but comfortable patio, nice service, draft beer, and good pizza. They don't offer pitchers, just pints. They have specials every day and my friend (who is a regular) always opts for the special. It was about 13-15$ for a pizza. It was VERY good. Thin crust, gooey cheese, eggplant, and lots of sauce. Yes please.

Yelp
Delicious food and the open kitchen concept is cool. Can't go wrong ordering any of their appetizers. Arancini risotto balls are da bomb and so is the calamari. The steak skewers are tasty and the prosciutto pizza is... a little salty. ^^ And their Tiramisu is TOO good~

Yelp
This is review, is purely about the Gluten Free Pizza. I paid zero attention to anything else. In point of fact, I laughed in everything else's stupid face! Ok friends ... I need to express something that undulates at the very pit of my verve. But, let me begin, at the beginning. Where plateaus once shifted, and worlds once were split apart; at the embryon of the Glutarded's curse. That sorry ass moment when one embarks on a very stupid, idiotic and Glutenless journey. A journey in which you cannot ingest what is a liquid distillation of the very tears of the Gods. A majestic element; the element of "Gluten." Recently, I moved from NYC. Grew up between Paris, the UK and Lebanon. I frequently travelled Italy, and consider myself as being rather demanding, food wise. You can check my credentials. I have none. I haven't had a real pizza in about 12 years now, but haven't felt the world stop and swirl around me when I ate a pizza, up until this point ... If you're going to eat Gluten Free food, just get comfortable with the notion that you'll eat other things (and that can be great. No sweat.) and that when you do eat a Gluten Free something, you'll look silly in front of everyone else, because their food will be better, and they for sure will be sniggering at you behind your back. Just roll with it. It's cool. Mama still loves you. Sort of. But in this case, the Gods have decreed that Libretto shall make water out of wine! There has never been a Gluten Free pizza that was packed with such ecstasy! As though one had been melted and poured into a rave in a Berlin Über Moment, at the helm of the Über-party-party era! Dropping into an explosive pool of maddening, maddened, jubilance! The Joy ... my friends, is insane!! It's bananas! Pears! APPLES! DRAGON FRUITs FOR F*K SAKES!!! Libretto! You've made the impossible, attainable, and I knight you the mecca of Gluten Free pizza for all Glutards of the world! I'd pay for others like me to fly into town just to suckle on this sweet glorious nectar you call a gluten free pizza! (I won't ... I'm just a regular old Joe Hyperbole). The Gluten Free Pizza at Libretto, IS the authority on Gluten Free pizza. È la verità, pura! Punto. ¡Vamos con Dios, Compañeros!

Yelp
Perhaps this is controversial of me, but I prefer the Danforth location to the Ossington location. Same great lunch prix fixe ($15 for an arugula salad and a perfectly plain pizza) plus a calmer atmosphere, and they appear to have a full bar instead of just wine, beer and a couple of cocktails. Same perfect pizza you've come to enjoy, only a little more grown up. The servers are also run less ragged and therefore kinder, and who doesn't love kindness? Ass holes. I guess ass holes don't love kindness, but I digress... PEPPER POINTS for taking reservations. Is it really so hard, people? Do you think it makes you seem thaaat much cooler? I'm darn sick of not being able to reserve my tasty treats in advance, Tarana.

Yelp
Just a quickie here-- I was fortunate to get in on opening night. It was all hands on deck and that led to service being perhaps slightly over-attentive, however all the servers were super pleasant and helpful. Rocco was working the pass so all the dishes were coming out perfect. It's like a parallel universe Libretto-- a bit of crossover from Ossington but not a carbon copy. Enough to make you want to be a regular at both. For starters we had the anchovy crostini, endive and beet salad (with a very cheeky radish masquerading as a grapefruit!), dungenees crab ravioli. For pizza we had the house-made sausage with fresh fresh basil, anchovy with chili oil and super fresh tomato sauce, and pork belly with ginger. The pizzas were good, but strangely a little bit chewier than Ossington. Beautiful char on the crust, and the flour has such a rich taste... It really is tough to mess up when using such high quality ingredients. But Rocco does much more than just "good"-- while you can come here and turn off your inner foodie and just down a few slices, you can easily dissect the nuances and flavour profiles of each dish. Carl from Marben was right-- if anyone can nail an opening night, it's Rocco Agostino.

Yelp
We arrived Saturday night for our 9pm reservation which I was thankful I made as the place was packed as usual. Only two vacant tables available, one of course which was for me. We were seated at a cozy table towards the back of the restaurant beside the white brick wall with a wonderful view of the 2 wood burning ovens and the chefs hard at work. The restaurant has an industrial look to it with the exposed vents and piping on the ceiling, glazed concrete floors, and pops of colour from the multi-coloured hanging wired lights and different coloured metal chairs. Our waitress for the evening comes over and highlights the specials for night and takes our drink orders. Two Glasses of bubbly refreshing Prosecco arrives. Truly delicious and imported exclusively for Libretto, I had to pace myself to keep from chugging the glass down. As well I love how the water is served in chilled glass bottles so I don't to wait on a refill, I can top it up myself! After taking our food order, our waiter asks if we would like some bread. It's nice that they ask for those who are worried about filling up before the meal however turning down bread is never an option for me so I gladly accepted her invitation. Warm sliced bread returns with a mixture olive and balsamic. To start Spicy Meatballs -Tomato sauce, bomba, grana padano & crostino I love me some meatballs and Libretto knows how to do it exceptionally well. Juicy, tender meat, full of flavour sitting in a bed of that delicious tomato sauce with the slightest kick of heat to compliment it. I would have liked some more of the toasty bread to mop of the rest of the sauce however our waitress took notice in our enjoyment of the sauce and offered to bring us some more house bread which we kindly appreciated. Arugula Salad - Pear, walnuts, piave cheese & sherry vinegar Very fresh tasting, I enjoyed the mixture of flavours with the tartness from the vinegar dressing, sweetness from the pears, and the crunch from the salted toasted walnuts was the perfect balance of flavours & textures. Pizza Margherita D.O.P. - Tomato, basil, mozzarella I can not resist a crust prepared in a wood burning oven. The char and blistering on the thin chewy crust is phenomenal on its own but then throw on some of there delicious homemade tomato sauce dotted with gooey fresh mozzarella and hints of fresh basil leaves you a yummy carb induced coma. Dessert Chocolate-Amaretto Budino - Topped with fresh whipped cream and macerated strawberries The sweet cream and fresh strawberries were a pleasant surprise to the addition of my budino. The budino however was the perfect ending to a savory meal. Not overly sweet but the perfect combination of thick chocolatey goodness with hints amaretto coming through was deeply satisfying. Overall a spectacular Italian meal served up at Libretto with excellent service and fresh, hot, delicious dishes, not a flaw from start to finish. Definitely check it out but I'd suggest making reservations to ensure you get a table. FYI They don't serve tea here however our waitress kindly offered to bring me some hot water and lemon. However I opted for an Americano instead and I was not the least bit disappointed. It was exceptionally good, strong rich aromatic flavour, not the slightest taste of bitterness with a nice crema on top.
