This is the best pizzeria we have ever been to! It was recommended to us by friends and we didn’t hesitate to pay a visit. I’m telling you - best pizza you will ever have. We had the Mais pizza (to share) and the pasta omelet with their draft beer - can’t stop thinking about this meal. The service was exceptional as well! We will definitely visit again when in Naples and pretty sure it will be the main reason for visiting this beautiful city.

I have now been to Pizzaria Pellone two times and both times have literally been magical! Firstly, they were able to squeeze me and my friend in early because we had to catch a train. We met Michael, their star waiter, who beyond took care of us! He helped with our order, listened to us when we said we were sadly in a hurry and got our pizzas out in 7 MINUTES!! He was beyond helpful, thoughtful and kind. I am now here again and Michael has already been so wonderful. The pizzas are so unique and classic at the same time. When in Naples, please go here! It’s a true Neapolitan experience!!

Google
Delicious pizza in Naples! There was a 10 minute wait at 12:30 and the line grew when we left. Definitely worth it as both pizzas were amazing. The marg’s cheese and tomato flavor were perfection and super delicious. Definitely recommend

Google
Excellent, the best pizza in Naples! Thin delicious dough, excellent sauce and delicious cheese. The pizzas are large. The pizzeria is located near the station. Inside there are large tables and air conditioning, large space.

Google
Always busy, historic pizzeria close to the train station. One of the best in the area. Offers also pizza take away. I suggest to share a pizza because it's quite large and few people manage to eat all of it. Nice but in general too much cheese on top

Google
Every person we met in Napel recommend this place. We didn't have reservation and we waited for table around 10-15 minutes. It is nicely decorated pizzeria. Local families are eating there, it is not only for tourists (like us). From order to serving food on table don't take much time. All staff that we met very nice and friendly. Pizza was big and we could take leftovers home.

Google
Outstanding pizzas! Especially coz there was no wait times. I’ve had pizza at Da Michele as well and I’m hard pressed to find a difference. Heck Pellone might be better! Don’t bother waiting in queues, Pellone does justice to Neapolitan pizzas and how!

Google
Waited about 10 minutes for a table and I would have waited an hour. An epic pizza. Crust was perfect, ingredients are fresh. Portions are huge so be hungry or go with people. We ordered the anchovies with olives and then a fried pizza. Didn’t realize what we ordered but it was delicious. Staff seemed annoyed we were there and using Google translate but it was fine. The person next to us asked how we found it since tourists don’t go here. It’s full of locals, it’s a gem. Close to the train station. Must stop!

Yelp
Very good (and large) pizzas. Be ready to eat with fork and knife! Great quality ingredients and pizzas were very well made. Good ratio for dough, sauce and cheese. We ordered a Margherita pizza and another specialty dish that seemed like a calzone. Both were good, but the pizza was a much better balance of ingredients. We arrived around 3pm, and had to wait about 10 mins before being seated. Staff don't speak too much English and since the place was pretty busy, we felt a little bit rushed. They had a stand for fried foods and breads which seemed enticing, but we were a little sad we were too full to try those out!

Yelp
If you're in Naples, you must visit Pizzeria Pellone. Recommended by our hotel concierge, Luigi, this place offers the best pizza I've ever tasted. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming. We tried the Margherita and sausage pizzas. The dough was light and perfectly cooked in the wood-fired oven, with a rich tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil. Every bite was a burst of flavor. The staff was friendly and service was quick, even though the place was busy. Pizzeria Pellone gives you a genuine Neapolitan pizza experience. Thanks to Luigi for the great recommendation!

Yelp
This pizza place should be thanking Anthony Bourdain for the crowds. Yes, it was a spot I had to get to during my time in Napoli and I enjoyed the pizza. A little crowded when we arrived at 12:30 but we were surprisingly seated immediately. Menus presented and we ordered. I chose the diavola pizza - spicy sauce with spicy sliced meat on it - and my friend chose a classic margherita. They didn't take long. Digging in with knife and fork, we enjoyed them. I thought it was a little too wet with olive oil but it was tasty and not at all spicy. I think some more fresh basil would have helped. Cold beer is tasty when it's local and we enjoyed that. And they kindly asked us if we were ready to go as there was already a good crowd outside when we left. Two pizzas, two beers, €25. A good price for good food. Yelp
Delicious!! A classic Napoli pizza restaurant. The pizzas are huge! I shared a margherita pizza with one other person and loved it. So classic and the crust was good. Service was good and the interior decor is cute. I would return!!!

Yelp
This is the best pizza I have ever had. Diavola was amazing and the service was fast. Great Smokey flavor and as Guy Fieri would put it, This is Flavor Flavour Town. Must try

Yelp
We were so lucky to walk in and get fed right away with an incredible Buffalo mozzarella margarita pizza. This has to be the BEST pizza of my life. I have thought about it ever since every day since I left. I wish I didn't go to the super trendy pizza place and came back here because this was truly the best I had in Italy! Nothing compared! Also thanks to the staff for recommending this to order and they were funny and friendly! Small shop and nothing fancy for ambience but just what we needed!

Yelp
We came to this pizzeria after watching an Anthony Bourdain episode. They're located away from the center, closer to the Garibaldi station. We went at night on our first evening in the city, so we took a cab from our hotel near the Piazza Municipio (~8€) since we weren't yet familiar with their public transportation. Our first impression was definitely not a good one as the staff was unfriendly and pretty rude actually, not just to foreigners but also to Italians. The staff didn't even try to speak a bit of English but also wouldn't even work with us when we tried speaking our broken and limited Italian. The pizza was ok, not deserving of any high accolades and definitely not deserving of a segment on a TV show episode. We ordered two pizzas. First we started with the margherita which was ok but the cheese looked like it was almost liquified and bubbling when it arrived at our table. Although the pizzas are pretty large, we still had some room for more food so we decided to go with the buffalina, which is a margherita but with buffalo mozzarella. This second pizza was definitely better, the cheese had more consistency and was more flavorful but we couldn't finish it all, we were stuffed after eating half of it. It seems the add Parmesan cheese to their pizzas as a base which definitely changed the flavors and they were not as good as other pizzas we had elsewhere. Although not outrageously expensive (24€ for two huge pizzas, one beer and a water), this place wasn't worth the cab ride over nor the money. There are better pizzerias in Napoli where you can get a really good pizza for a fraction of the cost and much better service.

Yelp
This is the best pizza in Naples by far. I lived here for 6 months and got pizza every night. I've tried all the big names, Sorbillo, Brandi, da Michele, none stand up to Pellones. The staff are angry old Italians but as I got to know them they would laugh and joke. Excellent pizza. Convenient location. I've traveled back from the us 3 times and every time I've come back I've stopped by with my friends and family. We love it. €5 for the best pizza in the world? not bad!

Yelp
The way my wife and I experienced it, we didn't feel Naples was too friendly to travelers. No matter. We are a resourceful couple. It took probably about 15 minutes to find someone that worked at the restaurant willing to help us. With my awesomely terrible Italian language skills I ordered a pizza Margherita for take away. I continued to impress with my lack of knowledge of the Italian language when I presented the pizzaiolo's in the back of the restaurant with my take-away ticket. They were mildly entertained, took my ticket, and handed us a hot, beautiful, and freshly made Margherita pizza to-go less than ten minutes later. I suppose the experience was sort of fun...enjoying a genuine and authentic Neapolitan pizza in the city where the world's most favorite food was invented was a treat in and of itself! The pizza Margherita here was one of the best we had during our travels in the area. So simple yet so good. Ingredients matter.

Yelp
So grateful I was able to have a real pizza in Napoli. This is a no frills pizza joint that was tasty and fast! Cooked to absolute perfection along with rice balls and drinks.

Yelp
My Italian, while not perfect, seems to be quite functional everywhere else. Not here, apparently- fast talkers mumbling, if you can catch their attention- and once pegged as a straniero, largely ignored. Fine, this is the gruff Napoletano way. But then the pizza was mediocre at best (salty beyond belief!) and certainly not (relative to area) cheap - 12euro for a pie. Also not in the most-awesome neighborhood. But in all fairness- has a busy, bustling/communal atmosphere, mostly locals, and perhaps the salt shaker top came loose- if your Italian is better or you have a native with you, go for it.

Yelp
Excellent pizza and a true local experience. We had no issues with bad or rude service. This a fast moving place and people make lines for a good 30' at peak times to eat here..super recommend

Yelp
This pizza place was right around the corner so we had to try it out. Naples is a rough Italian city, not the most tourist-friendly, but the food is unapologetically true and delicious. There was a long line for dine in so we decided to get take out, which was much quicker. My friend tried the deep fried pizza - is definitely a must try! Naples is famous for their deep fried foods and its basically a step up from their already amazing pizza. I got their prosciutto white pizza, and it was heaven in a take out box. Still dreaming of their pizza tip - they will ask you "pasta?" after you place your order. As ignorant Americans to the Italian language, we had no idea it meant, "finished?" They laughed when we gave completely confused faces but were patient to explain what it meant.

Yelp
Service was as mentioned by other yelpers, unfriendly and brief, but we didn't mind, since we were only here for the food. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the pizza here at all. Very stingy with toppings, and the cheese was sliding off the pizza. I had difficulty eating because every time I picked up a slice, everything fell off, leaving only the pizza base/crust in my hands. Oh, and there's a 15% service charge (the highest I've seen in Italy) for inexistent service. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else for pizza.

Yelp
Great pizza very close to Napoli Centrale so it's possible to get lunch before making your connection. We went here twice - on the way down to Amalfi and on the way back. Got the Maiz on the first trip which was different than we were used to but delicious - pizza with cream sauce, corn and prosciutto. Went for the Diavola (basically a Margherita pizza with spicy salami) on our second visit. Also great. Be warned that the staff is *extremely* rude and will express great contempt if you have trouble communicating. If you can tolerate this kind of obnoxious treatment it's worth a visit. Otherwise I'm sure there are more welcoming options in Napoli. Pizza gets 5 stars, service gets 0, so ultimately 3 stars.

Yelp
MUST EAT HERE! This. Is. Pizza. If you fly into Naples ... you must stop and eat pizza here. The sauce ...is perfection.

Caroline N.

Yelp
The best pizza in the world. I've travelled from sf to Naples just to have a bite of this heaven on earth.

Adam J.

Yelp
Rude staff and mediocre pizza makes this out of the way place less than worth your while. I read about this being a hidden gem on idreamofpizza and was excited to include it on my pizza tour. It was a 15 euro taxi ride there and the staff could not make us feel more unwelcome, a big change from the seven other pizza places we hit during our trip to Naples. If the pizza was out of this world, it might be worth recommending but I'd try another place among Naples's many standout pizzerias.
