Austin Italian Restaurant It’s Italian Cucina Opens Pizza Restaurant | Eater Austin

"A Roman-style pizzeria focusing on stone-fired, long rectangular pies offered in small and large sizes, with standout pizzas such as the Sciara (pesto, burrata, prosciutto, and zucchini), the Toscano (fig condiment, goat cheese, ham, pears, grapes, and onions), pepperoni, and the spicy Tre Pepe (calabrese, jalapeños, and pepperoncini); gluten-free versions are available. The menu also includes house-made fresh lasagna, soups, salads, sandwiches, calzones, and desserts, plus Sunday brunch featuring breakfast pasta and frittatas. The bar offers an extensive wine list, beers, aperitifs, and cocktails — notably margaritas and Negronis on tap — and the operation blends casual dining with a sports-bar atmosphere so patrons don’t have to settle for fast food while watching games. Additional draws include weekly Wednesday trivia (7–9 p.m.), indoor and outdoor seating, takeout and Uber Eats delivery, and weekday and weekend hours that accommodate both evening crowds and Sunday diners." - Darcie Duttweiler

Take out - Large vegetali. Good portion, tastes great, comes with 8 slices. The place offers a lot of veggie options. Second visit - Tried tre pepe pizza that comes with 3 hot peppers. Too spicy, worth the hype.

Amazing vegan pizza! The vegan cheese melts so well and tastes amazing. The chef did a great job selecting a vegan mozzarella and cooking the pizza at a high enough temp for it to fully melt. The service is great. I went on a tuesday afternoons for happy hour and the bartender was so kind and social. I’ve done take out several times as well but the pizza tasted much better in person. The only critical feedback would be to not give parmesan cheese with pizzas that have vegan cheese.

My husband and I enjoyed our lunch there today. Service was so friendly! My drink (Barrel Aged Boulevardier) was yummy! I plan to come back with my girl friends!

We dined at It’s Italian about a year ago and had a great experience, so we were very excited to see they were opening up a sister pizza spot next door! Just stopped by on a Friday night and sat at the bar. They have 4 different wines on tap, and a decent selection of other glasses/bottle options as well. The food was good - we tried the Cesar salad, small Sciara pizza. small Parma pizza, and cheesecake for dessert. Everything was clearly made with quality ingredients and tasted super fresh. Atmosphere was casual but still felt like a nice spot for date night at the same time. The bartenders and owner were all super helpful and friendly. Great addition to the neighborhood; we will be back!

Just ordered from here. Maybe the worst pizza I’ve ever had. The boneless wings were heavily breaded with sauce on the side. I got 2 pepperoni pizzas for the price of one via DoorDash and would rather have had 0. Truly awful.

We’ve been eating at their restaurants for over 25 years… this new Pizzaria is another stellar true Italian experience! The food, the atmosphere, the service was “PERFETTO”!

Service, food and atmosphere were fantastic. We had garlic bread appetizers with added mozzarella as suggested by our server. It was very tasty with the artisanal olive oil on the table. The Roman style pizza suprema was the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Definitely recommend this dining experience, even for date nights.

Yelp
Same owner of It's Italian Cucina right next door! Anything that you get is and will be delicious. Chicken wings! Ok, this restaurant is not known for their chicken wings, they are known for pizza but these are cooked perfectly, I'm drooling just thinking about them. not fried and they come with ranch. Calzone, three meats, supreme pizza - if you are a fan of Italian food, you will enjoy these. Lots of cheese and toppings. I was surprised there was a fried egg on top of the pizza! Haha. I also love how there's arugula on the pizza forcing me to eat my veggies. You can also order pasta and other non-pizza dishes from the It's Italian Cucina menu. If you haven't been, you should check them out! They are pricier than this pizza place though.

Yelp
We've dined next door several times. First time here. Same friendly vibe. Patio, bar, and indoor seating available. Reservations available. Nice beer and wine selection. Cocktails are well made and very reasonably priced. HH goes until 7:00! Roman style pizza. Fresh ingredients. Tre Pepe is good, but if you're not into spicy avoid it. Capricciosa is the bomb! Really good! I'll get it again. Will try the funghi on the next visit as well.

Yelp
Finally came here for Pizza, and just like Nextdoor at It's Italian Cucina, the food and service were spot on. The Roman style stone fired pizzas were fantastic soft and crispy at the same time, and the special olive oil drizzle was the cherry on top. The toppings are bountiful and the taste- Mama Mia finger licking good. 2 medium pizzas fed three of us with leftovers for the next day, if they survive the late night snack attack. Will order the individual pizzas next time, just to try more of their other special pies.

Yelp
We stopped by here late on Mother's Day without making any plans and we were overwhelmingly pleasantly surprised. We got a couple of their pizzas, the tutti carni and the pepperoni and they were outstanding. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the owner took care of us, knowing that we were a little frazzled and rushed and settled my kids right in and we had a lovely evening. If veal is your thing, do not leave without getting the piccata. Trust me.

Yelp
We tried this place yesterday, it was ok/fine, but in the end, homeslice still has the best pizza and sandwiches. If you are really craving a square pie, homeslice makes Sicilian, and if you insist on Romano style pizza, baldinuccis has more options at better prices and a better crust. I placed a pick up order through Uber eats. I got two pizzas, the Turkey sandwich and the Italian sandwich. The pizzas were a good size, though a bit pricey. I thought they were kind of undercooked and a bit doughey. We also paid for extra cheese and if we got extra cheese I'd be worried what regular amount of cheese looks like. They also place the Parmesan and red pepper on top of the pizza so that was a bit unappetizing to find especially slices with imprints of the portion cups in it. I put the pizza in my air fryer to try to crisp it up a little and that was a bit better, but for the price I'd rather go to home slice or baldinuccis. I had high high hopes for the sandwiches. I feel that they used good quality ingredients, but either it was a bad roll/baguette they were using, or they need to rethink how they package sandwiches to go. The roll was super soft instead of having a nice crust like you would expect from an Italian style sandwich. They really shouldn't serve the sandwiches in the plastic to go. They should get sandwich paper and roll their sandwiches in that like any good sandwich place does. Even if they are using gold bread, putting the sandwich in the plastic to go container makes it steam inside the container. It also took a little bit to get acknowledged even though I could clearly see my order was ready. They only have one person working in the front so he was occupied taking care of a table. I guess an empty restaurant isn't the greatest sign in the world. Over all it was ok, but I won't be rushing back. The sandwiches and pizza are better elsewhere, and this place is as pricey as anywhere.

Yelp
I hate to say this because I never leave bad reviews. But this was truly the worst pizza I've ever had. Lunchables are better.

Yelp
Food, service, ambience! All above the mark. I'm a repeat customer. It's like getting home made with great company. Try it!

Yelp
Was visiting from LA and stopped in, AMAZING pizza and drinks! Service was great, Alex is an amazing bartender and owner introduced himself as well. I would recommend the Capricciosa pizza, 10/10!!! $2 mimosas on the weekends too, can't beat that.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST gluten free pizza in town! My daughter reported that the regular crust was also delish. The Avapro was a great entry to our meal and the Brie appetizer was cooked to literal perfection! The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff took care of all of our wants/needs. The olives were a little underwhelming, but we were blown away with everything else that we ordered. So glad this pizzeria popped up in our neighborhood!

Yelp
Had a pizza pickup order this evening. The service was friendly and the staff seemed to be having a good time. Talked with the owner briefly and he runs both this and the Italian restaurant next door it seems. He looks like he loves what he does and curious about trying the other place also. The pizza here isn't the standard fare that a lot of joints have and the toppings were plenty.

Yelp
Great ambiance! I met a blind date here for dinner. I felt like I was in a rom-com! Beautiful crystal chandelier overhead, great Italian vibes, and delicious pizza along with great service. This is my new go-to date place, and they take reservations.

Yelp
Just moved to the area, stopped in for a quick bite. The food was amazing, the service was amazing and the happy hour deals cannot be beaten. Highly recommend!

Yelp
By a good margin the best pizza I've had in Austin. Highly recommend trying the funghi pizza. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was excellent and friendly. The chef even made an appearance at our table to talk soccer. 6 stars.

Yelp
Ate here tonight. Came in early for happy hour and it was so worth it. The wine list is well curated and on point. To eat, we had the olives, caprese salad, the large pep and the small (gf) fungi pizza. All of it was great. Olives were olives- garlicky and lovely but better with a splash of their house Spanish olive oil steeped with chili and garlic. The caprese had great fresh mozzarella and beautifully fresh basil- the only fresher is what I grow myself. The pizza was generous and tasty. The (gf) fungi was a particular standout. As a WSP (wheat sensitive person) I've had every GF crust in the city and they are all lacking. Sportiva had one of the best GF crusts I've had, and that says something- I've tried them all. Go here, the food won't disappoint and neither will the service. Attentive and friendly without being smothering. Friendly and approachable. Go here- you will not be disappointed!
