Wood-fired pizzas, Italian wines, classy but casual, patio seating

"Open for takeout and delivery through Grubhub, the pizzeria offers margherita pizzas, red-sauce staples like chicken parm, and kid’s meals." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

"Opened in 2018 in Lake View Village, Pizzeria Sul Lago represented Ford's take on Neapolitan-adjacent pies, featuring toppings like Oregon hazelnut pesto and vegan mozzarella; it proved successful enough to announce a second location in Vancouver's Waterfront Park development. After almost two years at the restaurant, Ford says his time there was 'some of the more formative years in my career,' but he has decided to step away to spend more time cooking—he had been doing a lot of oversight and menu planning—and his last day at Pizzeria Sul Lago is December 10; Ford says he's heading somewhere in Portland but has not yet disclosed the new location." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

"I note that Lake Oswego’s Pizzeria Sul Lago is opening a second shop in Vancouver as one of the new restaurant additions to the Waterfront development." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

"It's Nick Ford's new pizza place in Lake Oswego (ex-P.R.E.A.M. and Associated pizza chef) offering his pizza work; it opened March 19 and brings that chef's pizzas to Lake Oswego." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

"In Lake Oswego, I found Ford’s Pizzeria sul Lago (opening March 19) putting pizza absolutely front and center: a shining blue Mario Acunto Italian wood-fired oven anchors a semi-circle chef’s counter, with pizza peels on the walls and split maple piled around the restaurant. Ford deliberately scrapped a cocktail bar to avoid distractions from the pies, instead carving out 17 seats at the chef’s counter and seating 62 inside (with 80 additional outdoor seats planned when the patio opens), plus waterfront seating at Lake View Village and plans for umbrellas and a possible bocce bar court. Although officially sans-bar, the joint will sell pre-bottled cocktails like negronis and Manhattans for speed, and the menu features Pacific Northwest–grown Italian varietals and a house blend from McMinnville’s Remy Wines." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
