This pizzeria presents itself as offering Neapolitan-style pizza. After several days traveling around the U.S., our experience here wasn’t entirely negative—in fact, it stood out positively in some ways. That said, as an Italian, I had higher expectations when it comes to accuracy and respect for the traditional recipes being referenced on the menu.
If a pizza is given a specific name on the menu—especially one that refers to a classic Italian recipe—it should reflect that original recipe. It’s perfectly fine to innovate or localize dishes, but in that case, the name should also be adjusted accordingly. This helps set accurate expectations, particularly for guests who are familiar with the cuisine and choose a pizza based on its traditional ingredients.
In our case, the sauce was overly seasoned, and several ingredients didn’t match the original version of the pizza we ordered. This made the experience feel less authentic than we were led to believe by the branding and menu.
That said, the dough itself was the best we’ve had during our trip across various U.S. cities. The team clearly puts in the effort to maintain a high standard in terms of preparation and quality.
As a suggestion: if the goal is to regionalize or adapt pizzas to local tastes, consider changing the names or providing clarification on the menu. Otherwise, it risks misleading those who are looking for a more traditional experience, especially when authenticity is a key part of the restaurant’s appeal.
