"This Waltham farm is perhaps best known for its ice cream shop, but stop by seasonally for classic cider doughnuts — and apple cider doughnut caramel core cones to order with ice cream...and apple cider doughnut ice cream sandwiches...and apple cider doughnut sundaes." - Terrence Doyle, Adam H. Plenty of parking spaces in front. It’s a small family owned business market sells home made products, like oil, pickles, jam etc, also they have sandwich bar with what looks like nice variety of sandwiches. I honestly tried only the ice cream, the orange pineapple and purple cow flavors are so good and unique! Will update the rating after trying some other products. Prices are on a bit higher side. The lady on the cashier is loud but was helpful and did her best to serve us.

Went in for a sandwich and to look around. The sandwich was very freshly made. The bread was delicious and fresh. There were many people in the shop, got a bit busy and crowded, no place to stand. Good variety of products. Would definitely go back again and try a different sandwich. All of them looked delicious.

Been coming here since I was a kid. Great food, ice cream, and selection of goods. The employees working the registers and scooping ice cream are very friendly. However there is a serious attitude problem with management. The last few times I have come over 2-3 years the managers have been rude to customers and it is apparent that the employees are fearful. There is an air of animosity every time I come that I was either too young to notice as a child or not present with the old owners. You should never have to feel like you did something wrong or regret going to any establishment. I will not be coming back which is a shame since I have a lot of nostalgia and memories here.

Google
Great staff, amazing food, wish they would heat up the buffalo sauce. Warm buffalo sauce is thick in consistency, while refrigerated cold buffalo sauce made my wrap soggy, dripping wet, and a real mess.

Walked in. 9:15 said good morning to the lady behind the counter she scoffed and rolled her eyes and called for help. Said to the guy " can you handle this I'm working on a 400$ order" made my bacon egg and cheese while taking out the trash. Serious health concerns. Little does this place know I'm looking for a place to buy my crew lunch and missed out on multiple $400. Orders. Won't be back

I have my very first visit and it was simple Amazing. The deli person was friendly and fast the cashier was so helpful and friendly. The Sandwiches I got was the best deli I had since I was home in Ga. The Salted Caramel cupcake was delicious. 😋😋 The ginger iceam sandwich was so delicious and beautiful over all 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟 I will be back.

Google
great shop, lots of varieties, plentiful outdoor seating. caveat that they are out of stock of more than half of their ice cream flavours - wish that the menu would be updated!

Perfect family spot or cute date stop with the best ice cream flavors - Graham Central Station should be shipped worldwide! Tons of parking, delicious snacks, sauces and food inside. Love love love!

Yelp
I went to Pizzi farm last weekend because I was dying to try the vanilla soft serve with the apple pie filling rolled in cider donut! When we got to the window there was a super long line. We waited patiently and when it was our turn we were told they ran out of donut crumbs. I was so sad. I ordered a pumpkin soft serve instead which was SOOO delicious but I wish I had been able to get what I came for.

Michelle M.

Yelp
The ice cream is expensive. That being said, it is good. I recommend reading through the flavor descriptions on your phone or in the book they have at the counter before ordering. There are a lot of special flavors that have nothing to do with their name (in my opinion) so it can be a little confusing. One example: Heavenly Hash. Upon first glance you might be very confused. This is a chocolate ice cream with marshmallow and nuts to summarize. See? Confusing! I would've ordered that if I had read the description, however I opted for cookie dough. But if you take the time to read the flavors you'll find hidden gems. I almost wish they had a board menu off to the side with descriptions of their special flavors...I know they have the book but I felt awkward going up to the counter as they only have one. TLDR: Expensive ice cream, but good. Read through description flavors on website before ordering

Yelp
This small market and icecream shop is such a great lunchtime or icecream find! Love the options!!

Yelp
Updated to correct an error in my original review. Pizzi is a reliable, terrific spot WITH PARKING! for soft serve in the north of Boston area. I recommend the classic vanilla choc swirl with chocolate dip, but there's an extensive menu with other flavors if you're more daring.

Chris K.

Yelp
The cupcakes must have been a week old because it's rock solid and dry as the Sahara Desert. Honestly never tasted such an awful baked good. They should be ashamed to sell this.

Yelp
I started and finished the same day at Pizzi Farm on Saturday. In the morning we bought a bakers dozen of the apple cider donuts. They were delicious and fresh, with lots of flavor. $10 and very reasonable. To wrap up the day, we arrived half an hour before they close to get some dessert. The line was from the ice cream booths all the way to the fence! We waited. We ordered 3 of the special apple crumb soft serves, which had a caramel filling. We also got a mint oreo cup, large. All of this was $27.xx. The ice cream tastes great, and the apple crumb coating was special. The caramel was good too but it doesn't fill all the way to the bottom of the cone. Very quickly you find a slab of caramel near the top of the ice cream cone and have a huge bite of it. The coldness of the soft serve makes it clump up. My kid also enjoyed the mint oreo. The line moves pretty slowly despite several workers. My wife called out that 2 of the workers left while we were in line, so it looks like they stagger folks and let them off as we near the closing time. They shut off the lines promptly at 7pm, even if more folks are in line and the place is completely dark! Time spent in line to get your food: 6/10 Tastes of ice cream: 9/10 Price: 8/10 Facility cleanliness: 9/10 Friendliness of staff: 9/10

Yelp
In was driving by and saw an ice cream place. All I can say is OMG the BEST. I loved this place. I discovered it by accident but I live fairly close and visit frequently since discovering it. The ice cream will not disappoint.

Yeet Y.

Yelp
My favorite ice cream place in the area! I always go at night so I've never been in the shop but I love how they have plant based flavors for us lactose intolerant girlies. The cow Bench is an added bonus!

Yelp
Made a pitstop at Pizzi Farm after talking to a local teacher, who orders here each Friday for lunch. I was excited to try a panini, which is what I had a hankering for. Upon entry I noticed a ton of Pizzi Farm dressings, rubs, seasonings and other farm packed items (peaches, pickles, ketchups to name a few). Deitz & Watson meat is the choice at the deli.....I had a roast beef panini, which was excellent. Bread was fresh...left on the grill for just the right amount of time and a perfect temperature on my first bite. 12.99 for the sandwich is kind of high but that is the market at any of the great deli's around (D'Agostino's, Bob's, Augusta's, Alpine) I am sure this place is very crowded at lunch and after dinner with their ice cream stand, which seems like a big part of the operation. The staff was very nice....young man who made my sandwich and girl who was at the register were both easy going and welcoming. I gave it 4 stars. Not quite near the top places but a decent stop and a place I would revisit in a pinch. Location is easy to get to, off of 128, makes it attractive, as well.

Lori Y.

Yelp
I was super disappointed :( I was looking forward to come here all summer and when I finally did, my ice cream was super melty... I feel like a place like this should have the temperature control down to a science! Also the taste wasn't anything special either. I'd recommend other ice cream farms over pizzi.

Darren O.

Yelp
Apple cider donuts could definitely be better. Although not horrible! we came about 5:30. They close at 9 and they ran out of practically everything! Service on the inside was so-so they weren't rude but they definitely didn't seem happy to help you! The atmosphere is very regular for an ice cream place nothing special! Not a lot of parking our family had to park across the street at a school! So I didn't end up getting anything and my nephew didn't like his ice cream! So safe to say I'll never come back here again!

Brooke T.

Yelp
We enjoyed our lunch here - they have quite a nice selection of sandwiches and ice cream flavors as well as ample outdoor seating. This is definitely a nice place to visit when the weather is good. Besides coming here to eat, you can also bring your propane tank here to have it refilled, something we discovered one weekend when Home Depot was out of propane.

Shine B.

Yelp
Very disappointed with Pizzi's this year. Prices are up and sizes are smaller. $6 for a very small, size small. Service is disappointing.

Fahim R.

Yelp
Really good ice cream, nice fun atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating. The staff was very friendly. They have a ton of flavors, hard and soft serve.

Adam L.

Yelp
Update : while the ice cream is still ok during the summer , I have to say I've become disappointed with the sandwich shop and the attitude on the inside, where people seem almost annoyed to serve you and borderline hostile at times. Other reviewers who mentioned roots staff are correct. I'm a repeat customer and I've been treated rudely more than once. I can't recommend them anymore for anything inside .. go to wagon wheel for that . For the ice cream , if you are near Lizzie's they offer better cones and better ice cream as well. It no longer seems worth paying the premium or subsiding the surly owners and shopkeepers .

Jason P.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream - tastes so heavenly but decadent . The upside down banana split made up of two scoops from their endless selection of flavors - ice cream coma. Does it make you one stop closer to a heart attack? Yes. Is it worth it. Probably - depends on your scoop flavors (try something other than vanilla). Lots of outdoor seating so perfect for summer time. Customer service is your typical high school summer time employee experience so expect nothing mind blowing there. You're here for the food tho so embrace the summer time feel and eat yourself until a sugar high.

Yelp
As a result of some fancy social media advertising, I decided to make a recent trip to Pizzi Farm to try their Market & Deli portion. I have frequented their ice cream shoppe numerous times in the past, but this review will encapsulate all three aspects of Pizzi Farm. ICE CREAM SHOPPE: As I mentioned, many times I have frequented their Ice Cream Shoppe, and on its own, I would give that aspect of the business 4 stars. Cones, cups, frappes and sundaes are all delicious, filling, and rewarding for the price. MARKET: The availability of unique candies, chips, and Italian specialties are great and convenient for the Waltham area; especially given their small footprint. Prices are on par with other specialty shops and I really had little idea of the product depth if I only remained outside for ice cream in the summers. For the Market, I would give them a solid 3 stars. DELI: This was the disappointing aspect for me and only garnered 2 stars. Referencing that fancy social media advertising, I was drawn in by the deli options. First, I checked out the on line menu and found it different from the in store which makes sense from a product availability perspective. Second, I looked to order on line, but didn't see a guest option as I only saw the requirement to set up an account which I was not going to do. Finally, I decided to drive to Pizzi and order in person. I ordered "The Lake" which was billed as the sandwhich when you didn't know if you wanted meatball or chicken parm, as this combined the two. I also ordered the cutlet BLT and a Goodfellas. The Italian cold cut inspired Goodfella on seeded roll was very good. Plenty of meat and cheese to leave with with leftovers for later. The Lake and Cutlet BLT were disappointing driven by the use of a microwave to heat up the cutlets used in both sandwiches. This not only creates hot and cooler spots, but eliminates any crispiness of a breaded cutlet that I enjoy. The meatball and sauce was uninspiring and I do wish the bacon was crispier (again microwaved to warm). Next time, I will stick to cold cut type sandwiches which are numerous on their menu. I am looking forward to a future visit to try the extensive All Day Breakfast sandwich options in due time. To this point, I give Pizzi Farm a solid 3 stars representing the Ice Cream, Market and Deli. Give them a try.

Yelp
This review is in regards to the ice cream aspect only and does not reflect anything regarding their market or deli. First time visitors in the Waltham area for the weekend. Checked online to review all of their "today's ice cream flavors". I honestly don't expect them to update their online flavors at all with any regularity because that would be a pain. However, I do expect that they update their local menu selection that is written in chalk on their chalkboards. If you are out of ANY flavors, how hard is it to erase it, cover it up, or place an "out of stock" sign over that particular flavor? Today, my 1st choice, peach cobbler sundae was a NO- they were out. 2nd choice was strawberry cheesecake, NO- they were out 3rd choice was butter pecan, initially told no again until someone checked and thankfully they had it in stock. No one should have to ever approach any establishment that has menu choices and have to wonder, hope, and guess about what is available on the menu for that day. I understand that business run out of stock of their products but updating should be done quickly and regularly. All that being said, the butter pecan ice cream tasted great!

Yelp
Great variety of flavors, really good ice cream. However, my bf's ice cream was very meaty when he got it :(

Amanda C.

Yelp
My go to place in Waltham for delicious sandwiches. Reasonable prices and a huge selections. My only complaint is that they often run out of my favorite sub rolls!

Michael ..

Yelp
The ice cream at Pizzi is fantastic, and they also frequently have food trucks in the parking lot. The people who work here are incredibly friendly and there are nice spots to sit outside. A 3.7 for this place is a travesty - it's a local institution and I'm glad its so close to me.

Anne Z.

Yelp
One of the best sandwich spots in town! Pizzi Farm Market is where I go when I feel like rewearing myself - it's a tiny little store located near the highway that has a deli section, fresh pastries, a variety of fun and tasty bagged treats, and ice cream. I usually always go during lunchtime for a sandwich (my go-to is goodfellas, highly highly recommend if you're into anything remotely Italian). The sandwich breads they use are so, so tasty - mine came on some kind of a soft baguette drizzled with EVO, and it was to die for. The goodfella had a variety of meats on it and the typical works, and the portion is perfect for lunch. I also highly recommend their pastries - I have no self restraint and always end up leaving with a tiny box of their cookies (my goal is try all of them at some point). The workers are very friendly and I'm pretty sure it's a family-owned business, so I love supporting the cause! The only thing to know is that the wait for your sandwich can be pretty long depending on what day you go, but I would say it's more than worth it!

Anju S.

Yelp
This place gives you the perfect old school farm feeling. It's nothing fancy but it's beautiful and free space for parking your vehicle. There's outdoor seating that can be nice during those beautiful sunny days. By far this place serves the best ice cream, I love their strawberry cheesecake ice cream. They have a deli as well which is opened during the weekday but the ice cream shop is opened 7 days a week. My ratings are strictly based on their ice cream flavors. I have noticed during rush hours this place can be quite busy so be ready to be waiting for sometime but it's worth it for those delicious ice cream flavors. They do give you a sample to try Incase you are insure as to which flavor you want. I have tried their coffee Oreo as well which tastes just like as it's name.

Kim L.

Yelp
Such a cute family friendly spot for lunch and dessert! They have a deli that offers some pretty good sandwiches (I tend to frequent the Oliver and the Roman) along with varying sweet treats. Their ice cream is where it's at though with a variety of hard ice cream flavors and some unique soft serve as well! My favorite is the Javaberry which is coffee and raspberry soft serve swirled together.

Richard D.

Yelp
Great sandwiches and I've been looking for soft service ice cream near me and it was perfect

Spencer J.

Yelp
My wife and I live in the area and have been to Pizzi's many times. Certainly, the Summer ice cream stand is fun and often buzzing with activity on Summer nights. I have always found the ice cream to be so-so, I prefer Bedford Farms a little further away. But we still come because it is close by, the outdoor atmosphere is fun with all the families and students in the summer, and we want to support local. My wife also likes that they have some vegan flavors that she can eat and really enjoys, as she has a lot of food allergies. The young people who work at the ice cream counter are always friendly and helpful. My opinion really plummeted today, however, after an extremely frustrating experience. My wife and I came inside (they have ice cream inside during the off-season) to get some of the vegan chocolate ice cream she likes, which is not always in stock. After buying a pint to take home and a cup to eat now, my wife took a bite and discovered the ice cream had peanut butter in it. She is allergic to peanuts. I took both back in and talked to the woman at the ice cream stand, who was apologetic and offered to get us something else. She checked and discovered that it had, in fact, been mislabeled. I ordered a small vegan vanilla because that was the best option. I took it all to the front to explain it to the manager/owner and at least ask to not have to pay for the vanilla, if not a refund for the rest (you order the ice cream at the counter, then pay at the front). She was very rude and argued with me, and did not believe me that there was peanut butter in it. I showed her the chunks of peanut butter, and tasted it myself (definitely chocolate peanut butter, I've ordered that flavor for myself before). She tried to charge me for the vanilla. I said I did not think I should have to pay for it. She grabbed the chocolate/peanut butter items and just told me to leave. I didn't really care about the mix up. It was annoying, but the woman at the ice cream counter was happy to fix it. But it was very rude and frustrating that the woman at the register didn't believe me and yelled at me, much less didn't try to make it right. Not to mention how concerning it is that she didn't take this seriously as a potential danger with the allergies. Thankfully, my wife did not have a reaction.

Lauren B.

Yelp
Icecream is amazing but the icecream is a little overpriced though. I would recommend this if you want to get good icecream. And the soft serve is very good as well

Macayla D.

Yelp
Excellent Ice Cream; BUT I just can't digest the jacked up prices paired with horrible service... just left your establishment (without ice cream) after waiting in line for 20+ minutes to quite literally not move. Time is money kids... ‍

Reema P.

Yelp
Delicious, creamy, REAL ice cream all for a great price! Unfortunately, when I went they were out of a bunch of flavors, maybe because its the end of the season/it was a Saturday? Although a little disappointed that they then only had like half (or less than half) the flavors left, we sampled a few and fell in loveeee with the seasonal pumpkin oreo and caramel apple (soft serve)! They were both suuuuper creamy and yum. Pumpkin oreo had a great balance of flavors and the texture was perfect. We got a small and it had plenty ($4). 2-3 people could share it if you're not feeling an entire one for yourself. The caramel apple soft serve was shockingly good--didn't taste artificial like I was expecting. Got this in a kiddie cone and it was also pretty big ($3).

Benon T.

Yelp
Omg never tasted this awesome ice cream in my entire life. The girls and boys who man the place are great though there is always a line it's always well worth it. Haven't I been on a strict diet or a little older.... Since it's within walking distance. It could have been my daily stop. This place is very clean and they have social distancing which is an assurance. Go try it. Just to let you know. I don't know these people who run the joint. Am responsible for my words.

Nathan R.

Yelp
Awesome ice cream but I'm giving it three stars because I got a wrap for the first time today from the deli. I ordered the Louisville which comes with honey mustard and there was no honey mustard! Sandwich was dry and missing the best part!! What a shame. Hopefully next time they will get it right.

Theresa A.

Yelp
What a score! We were in this area in the morning and were lucky to stubble upon them for breakfast! They made breakfast sandwiches fresh and also had a few options for coffee. The place is adorable with so many cute cookies and candies as well. They also had a cow in the form of a bench outside which can provide great entertainment meant for any age. Would love to try their ice cream!

Megan M.

Yelp
Originally, I wasn't going to stop by here, but I'm so glad I did! It's a cute little deli/ice cream experience with a bunch of other things inside the farm store. I came for the apple cider donuts and apple pie shake that they have on their social media, and it did NOT disappoint. The donuts were to die for, we got a box of 12. We also got the apple pie shake, I didn't catch a picture of it but it was vanilla ice cream with caramel and a apple cider donut on the side with whipped cream - amazing. Definitely recommend!

Jean P.

Yelp
It's a very expensive place for everything and not the top quality, but I still go there to shop because I live close by and it's convenient. Recently I drove over planning to buy some pastries but needed to check some messages on the phone after parking. The store had police come over and tell me to leave, saying the parking was for customers only. I said ok and left for good! I would never go back again if that's how they decided to treat their customers.

Shaw M.

Yelp
This is an extremely expensive deli that runs out of items before closing with a very rude lady making the sandwiches.

Jimmy B.

Yelp
When you want quality ice cream, you go to one of two places - ice cream shacks (I use this term in the most endearing of ways) or ice cream parlors. Well, you can't get much more shacky than here at Pizzi's, friends! Established since who knows how long, Pizzi's has been a staple of Waltham for ages (and hopefully more generations to come). This locale is dangerously close to work, but I justify it by walking here instead of driving (because you know, the 10 minute walk here obviously burns off the whole ice cream.. obviously). They have a wide array of flavors, both soft serve and hard packed, which will delight any ice cream fanatic. They also offer other traditional, sweet delights such as root beer float and banana splits. Relatively affordable, and super tasty, what's not to like? The ice cream here is of quality - creamy, smooth, and delicious. The lines, if there ever are any, are quick, and there's plenty of parking and seating. These two reasons are some of the pros that my favorite ice cream place, Bedform Farms, lack. Lastly, points for being trendy - to celebrate their 2016 grand spring opening, they had a day of donut cones. DONUT CONES. This is the type of stuff you'd see in hipster foodie NYC, not in Boston, least of all the suburbs. Although to be fair, it was an expensive offering, and not as tasty as I thought it would be, but the fun! You can never take away from the experience, and I'm happy Pizzi is open to culinary experiments.

Matthew M.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream. If you're ever anywhere near Waltham, go here! You will not regret it

Kirsten J.

Yelp
Pizzi is a really solid lunch spot, and I usually visit with my coworkers for a quick bite to bring back to the office. Lots of sandwich, hot dog, pizza and soup options. My favorite sandwich is the Pig and Fig panini (prosciutto, mozzarella, fig jam, and olive oil). I also LOVE the chili dogs. I didn't like hot dogs at all before coming here, so trust me, they're good. They have lots of speciality goods like jams and sauces if that's your thing. If you're around during the summer, grab a dipped cone. The staff is always so kind and fast during the rush and make the experience that much better.

L S.

Yelp
Where is the turkey?! This is an expensive piece of bread and lettuce. Absurdly unfriendly man standing at ice cream window when I asked where to pick up online ordered curbside sandwiches. He said he only works at ice cream and wouldn't get me anyone to help.

Annie Z.

Yelp
This is my favorite nearby "farm" ice cream place to go to. There's a lot of outdoor seating. Despite there being several windows, the line is a bit slow. There's a cute mural to take photos on, and a porta-potty for public use as well. Doesn't beat Kimball and Great Brook but it's much closer to the city!

M B.

Yelp
Eat more ice cream, and get it here! We got two small cones and a sundae, maybe 20 minutes before closing on a Friday night (and the line was still 20 deep). Small cones were huge, sundae too, and all less expensive than the typical New England summer dairy bar. And thank you to this one place who has figured out that putting some hot fudge on the bottom of the sundae cup is smart!

Emily D.

Yelp
This is a great spot for ice cream and gets extra points for being kid/dog friendly. They have a wide assortment of flavors of hard-packed ice cream and I usually get the peanut butter oreo. They have good soft serve too and a lot of dips (even birthday cake!). They have a cute shop adjoining with sandwiches and other food as well as flowers. They even have corn hole and will fill up your propane tank! Pizzi farm is one stop shopping and always a great time.

Xavier L.

Yelp
Great selection of sandwiches and ice cream! Love this place! The store is also really fun to look around the selection of sauces/candy/frozen foods!

Jessica K.

Yelp
We live pretty close, so we are lucky to be able to swing by, have great ice cream and head home. If you are in the area, it is a great place to stop at. There aren't many places like this anymore!

Alex E.

Yelp
We frequent this place for ice cream often but it's very inconsistent. The staff are not the brightest bunch.

Deborah A.

Yelp
The quality has gone down since I last ordered food. The price for an average sub came to over $11 and the bread was stale. Won't be getting anything else but ice cream from now on.

Merry S.

Yelp
What a treat thier frozen prepared meals are. We got the eggplant rotatini, lasagna and stuffed shells. All reasonable price and really great. I also grabbed thier own homemade steak sauce and it hands down is the best steak sauce I've ever had. Looking forward to the warmer weather to try their ice cream as I will definitely will be going back.

Ludovic B.

Yelp
Good ice cream and generally nice folks helping customers. But the deli is an other beast. Very unfriendly staff. I asked about allergens because my kid is allergic and the woman was clearly annoyed and did not make any effort to avoid cross contamination. I live not too far but I just don't like going there except for ice creams. Too bad because nice spot with large grass area for kids to play.

Jen B.

Yelp
Agree with previous posters on unfriendly service. $12 for wrap with hardly any turkey. Not worth it.
