PJ's Coffee

This was my first time here, and it turned out really good. The drive thru line looked long, but it moved fast and our order was right. I got the Caramel Granita (so good!) and my husband had the Protein Velvet Ice, which he said he liked a lot. The workers at the window were friendly and made the stop easy. The only small issue was the straw, since it was too short for the larger cup, but it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, I was happy and I would come back for sure.

Really enjoy PJ’s coffee the staff are very friendly and the coffee is always great! However, they have that they are open Fridays at 5:30 am. This is not true. It’s currently 5:50 am and they are still closed. Left out early to be here for an early Zoom call, anticipated on sitting inside and having coffee. If the hours have changed it would be nice for this reflection to show online. It would have saved me from making a blank trip and I could have traveled elsewhere where.

Food is good and their drinks are great. The reason for the low rating is because they frequently close with no notice. Went for. Pick me up after work on Friday and there’s a sign saying, “sorry we closed today”. And then again on a Sunday….a sign on the order box said, “we are closing at 3 today”. Well I was there at 4! Super frustrating. Stay true to your schedule people.

I really enjoy the drinks, pastries, and the overall atmosphere. The staff is always friendly as well. However, I have come to the location several times, and I keep experiencing the same issue. I am not sure if it's an issue with their ventilation, but whatever oil they are using to fry stays in the air and irritates my eyes. This even happens to my partner. I wish the issue could be fixed, because I enjoy the the drinks. But the irritation caused to my eyes by the oil in the air is unbearable.

This place? A whole vibe. I came in for coffee and left with a smile, a full stomach, and a new favorite spot. The staff treated me like royalty—like I was the chosen one of caffeine. Food? Delicious. Service? Fast. Like, blink-and-it’s-ready fast. I work two minutes away, so this might become my new second home. Shoutout to the amazing crew—they gave me the best drink ever, and I’m still thinking about it. Honestly, I’d come back tomorrow… maybe even twice.

What a cute place!!! Stopped by to grab a quick cup of coffee and was very impressed by not only their selections of regular coffees but pour overs and seasonal flavors. Best of all is the service, I wanted to try the Banana foster latte but not too sweet and the server made it just right. It did remind me of Starbucks just by how they were set up but their overall feel is much warmer. The prices are a touch higher!

EDIT-05/22/22 *Just found out that they charge you $1 extra if you request lite ice for any beverage or coffee drink. Also the price goes up depending on your cup size. I've never had a coffee shop do this so I was pleasantly surprised. I mean how much extra "product" are you really going to add by omitting a little bit of ice? So if you order anything with lite ice just know you will get an extra charge unfortunately. Starbucks doesn't charge for lite ice.......just saying. :) First timer here!!! Got the peppermint bark iced latte per recommendation and of course their beignets and spinach feta croissant! I will say the latte was spot on! 10/10! I got it with oat milk and one less pump of peppermint and it was perfect. Beignets were delicious too. Feta spinach croissant was good but slightly undercooked! Kelly was amazing and her customer service was spectacular! Can’t wait to come back and visit regularly! Loving the coffee and the outside seating. Thank you all!!!😃😄

It's always a good time at PJ's. I go every year for my king cake and when I want a taste of home. The service was excellent and fast. I decided to go here because I needed a spot close to the house, with WiFi and I wanted coffee and breakfast. This is always a quiet, not packed with people spot to get some work done.

My complaint is mainly with the app, its glitches and how the staff handles the issue. Maybe they are new or uncertain how to handle app glitches but for a customer to leave unaccommodated with nothing more than an "I'm so sorry" is not permissible. I was unable to redeem my birthday drink because they couldn't figure out why it didn't register in the app. I showed my email and the app itself. I order here all of the time but today was disappointing, not to have someone go beyond "I'm so sorry it's a technical issue." I'll have to find another store, I won't be returning here.

This is a good coffee shop for a grab and go, Although the coffee was good, I've had better. That's not to take away from them but mostly to compare. We had breakfast sandwiches (Maple and Pizza bagels), which we enjoyed more than the coffee itself. All in all, it's good coffee shop that I can count on to deliver ok coffee. Bagels are a must-try! We ordered and didn't have to wait too long. It was a Monday around 1pm, so not sure how busy they get in the mornings. If you're looking for maybe somewhere to work, it does seem like a good place. Not too packed or loud. 4/5 considering everything!

I stopped by with some friends to check out PJ's coffee. They got a few of the energy drinks and said they were okay, more pretty than tasty. I got the matcha beignets. They were decent, but I probably won't get them again. They tasted like regular beignets as the powder was just on top, and the beignets were pretty small for what you pay. The employees weren't nice or mean. The cafe has a decent amount of seating. Parking was easy in the plaza out front.

PJs is easy to find in the strip center with a variety of other food places. The parking can be hard if everybody is out and visiting the other spots. The drive thru is a game changer especially when it's cold or rainy! The service was quick and the staff was super friendly. The coffee and food and is just okay. It's a step above pot coffee but nothing super spectacular. I ordered a hot oatmilk latte with added Vanilla, a regular hot vanilla latte and a bacon egg cheese biscuit.

PJ's addition was much needed for west Pearland. Until 2023, I often found myself traveling 20-25 minutes up 288 north if I really needed a place to focus outside of my home. Even visiting a nice, quiet place in East Pearland would still require 15-20 minutes of driving. I love the aesthetics here. Many of the furniture pieces contain Modern Victorian styles, staying true to PJ's roots in New Orleans. There are less than 10 indoor tables, so seating availability may be a bit dodgy in the afternoon as work-from-home employees love this place. Given the cold front we're experiencing right now, it wouldn't be a bad idea to check out the outdoor seats instead -- enjoy the weather while you still can. I usually get the frozen hot chocolate. Despite "hot" being in the title, it is entirely cold. You can also opt for whipped cream on top, which adds a light, foamy sweetness on top. This drink reminds me of the double chocolate chip from Starbucks. 5/5 taste, and $4.76 after tax. Not bad. Internet speed is 45 Mbps down and 11 up, tested when 7 total laptop users were using the Wifi. Pretty standard for a coffee shop and should be suitable for video streaming/calling. Great place for productivity, conversation, or both.

Nice vibe and ambiance...I just stopped in for a small frappe. It's a little out the way for me but I just so happened to be in the area.

In the area for a doctors appointment and decided to give PJ's a try based on the other great reviews. I got a large iced s'mores latte and my mom got a medium pumpkin spice latte. I'd get half the pumps of flavor for the s'mores latte because it was really sweet, and my mom wished her latte was hotter, but we both enjoyed the flavors of our drinks and the coffee itself wasn't too weak. Service was good and clean bathrooms. Nice quiet atmosphere that's good to get a little work done or chat with a friend over coffee. I'll definitely return if I'm in the area again.

I recently moved next to a PJs coffee and since the first time I had went I have gone regularly. The environment relaxed and has a New Orleans style cafe to it. I love the beignets, matcha and their seasonal drinks. Service is always spot on!

I like the ambiance, the interior decoration and the coffee which comes with extra shot on request. Service is quick and friendly. I love sitting outside on a nice day unlike today when its 104 outside ..... am kind of a regular and hope to continue

Came here to meet up with a friend and do some work on a Sunday afternoon. First time here. The staff is very friendly. The music played in the background is mellow and not loud. They have different seating arrangements. Seating for 1, 2, and 4 people. Noticed a lot of people come here to work/study. Some come to meet up with someone. The wifi speed is very good. I was able to stream Spotify and browse the Internet with no buffering or slowness. The bathrooms are clean and baby-friendly. They offer free iced water, which is always nice. I like that their baked goods are made in-house daily. Would like to try their beignets some day (made to order as they should).

We always get great service here. This time we enjoyed a frozen blended coffee and a hot cappuccino with 2 splendas and I wanted some fresh hot beignets but decided to settle for a chocolate chip cookie, less carbs. They make very good beignets, it was hard skipping them.

We had beignets and the king cake coffee. Sorry should have taken pictures. Beignets are the closest I've found to being in New Orleans. Pillowy and covered in powdered sugar. Don't wear black.

Love my cappuccino and when in Pearland this is where I go. For people who want to get some quite time in and do some studying or work it seems there is a decent amount of space for it. People also seem to be respectful and keep conversations down out of respect of others.

I have been to this PJ's a few times while roaming the West side of the Land of Pears. I pass up quite a few coffee spots on the way just so I can try some of their tasty creations. There's always a steady flow of people getting coffee to go, enjoying the comfortable seating inside, or the patio outside. Customer service is always friendly and the staff gives excellent recommendations. They have a nice selection of their products such as cups and coffee beans for purchase if you're really about that PJ's life. Their straight up coffee is legit, but I usually come to coffee shops for their unique offerings. I always check out the menus prior and I know what I want coming in usually. Each time I have come here, their seasonal items or advertised special items are always out. I always end up with a second or third option. Maybe I just need to get there earlier if they are selling out of items. That being said, what I have had is good. The pastries I've had has always paired well with the coffee as well. Overall, this is one of Pearland's better coffee spots. I'm sure I'll be back and hopefully get what my first choice is!

I like this little spot! I really do. My biggest gripe is the air ventilation and all the house flies swarming around the cafe. It literally smells like old oil in here and the ventilation is not the best. But let's get to the good stuff.. shall we? PJs offers some unique coffee drinks and treats. There are far too few locations within the greater Houston area so it's nice to visit this particular location from time to time. I've visited another location in the past which was in another state. They've got some great iced drinks here such as their lattes, mocha and seasonal drinks. The seasonal king cake is good here as well as their beignets. The beignets are fresh & made to order. They are decent.. nothing home to write about. The case near the register is stocked up on cookies, muffins and scones etc. Seating is decent as well. They've got a few chairs and sofas to lounge upon.. not the biggest spot though. The drive thru will get ya in and out in a jiffy.. good for when you're in a rush. This spot is far from me so I doubt I'll be visiting anytime soon.. hoping they can open up more locations. Other than that it's a warm spot with some aromatic coffee.

Environment was fabulous service was amazing and staff was extremely friendly! We had the beignets and what was that called King's cake which were both excellent! Coffee for me was not great. I had the iced shaken espresso with sugar free vanilla. I couldn't finish it not sure why I didn't like it but everything else was amazing.

I went here with my husband to grab coffee after dinner. Found it through Yelp. Place was quiet, clean and welcoming. The staff were friendly and customer service was great. My husband ordered regular black coffee and I had a matcha latte. Served hot and fresh. We got it to-go. We liked it and we would definitely come back and try some other things.

Vibe- Indoor and outdoor seating, they even have a few magazines and games to play while you dine in Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I love their matcha latte. The baristas also feature their drinks on a board near the register Parking- Plenty! I love supporting this small business!

If you crave an authentic New Orleans beignet, but you are in the greater Houston area, try PJs. The beignets are cooked to order, hot hot hot and delicious. So delicious I ate them before my review, so sorry no pictures!

Long menu, good snack options (feta and spinach breakfast thing and double chocolate muffin). They always seem relatively fresh and not stale like a lot of coffee place snacks. I especially love the drive thru and on days where we come inside, we take advantage of the colouring with crayons. Such a nice touch and signal of how family friendly they are. Quick service.

They overcharge for everything. $1 extra for "half ice" when there was no difference between it and a regular iced drink. They asked if we were fine with "whole milk and whip" and did not specify that the whip was $0.70 extra - not only was it extra but there was not any whip visible on the drink. I don't usually care about the abruptness of food service workers, but I'd like more information than a speed run on ordering when there's surplus charges. The drinks were very good though - we got the two new ones (Southern Wedding Cake Iced Latte and Southern Charm Chicory Cold). The breakfast sandwich was too greasy to finish but the feta and spinach croissant was good. The beignet were hot and fresh, covered in enough sugar to take out of small child. The picture showed the powered sugar dusting it, but they were VERY liberally coated. Absolutely divine.

I visited my favorite PJ's yesterday approximately 7:15pm. I had already placed my mobile order (small coffee w/steamed breve & 3-pumps White Chocolate Mocha Sauce, 3-beignet and XL Ice Breve' Vanilla Chi Tea) and somewhat hesitant because closing the store was approaching. There were 2-in store dining and 1-walk-in customer upon my arrival. I didn't expect my order to be ready so I sat down at the table across from the mobile pickup station and waited patiently for my order. I don't recall whether I was greeted by the baristas but the in-store dining customers spoke to me as I sat down and I return the salutation in-kind. My issues: 1). I believe the Closing Supervisor/Manager prepared my beverages and she knows who I am because she's waited on me numerous times. I do know my written instructions were not followed as it relates to the small coffee. I requested steamed breve (half-half) I saw the barista poured cold breve'. 2). My order was placed in the in-store pickup station area and my name was not called letting me know my mobile order was ready. It was until another barista ask if I was waiting on an order. I replied yes and told her what I ordered. Oh that's your order over there. I retrieved the 3-items from the in-store pickup area and returned to my seat. The beignets were piping hot as usual. However, the coffee tasted bitter and luke-warm which says it's old and been sitting for a while. I finished off the beignets, discarded the coffee and departed.

Beignets are so tasty! They almost have flaky consistency along with the fluffy classic beignet texture.

This is a nice coffee shop, with a good selection of coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I had the Cafe Au Lait, which was pretty tasty, but a tad weak for my taste; would try it again with a less generous spash of the steamed milk. Love that they sell the delicious king cake and conversely love, that they have healthier choices with eat fit options.

Update 2-20-22: I went back to PJs with the gift card that management sent to me. This visit was a lot better. The drive thru line was a bit slow (about 10-15 minutes), but that was the only negative. They had the ingredients for the Zulu Iced Coconut Mocha so I ordered that with some beignets. The lady at the window was so nice and let me connect the gift card to my rewards so I could still earn stars. The beignets were so hot and I wanted to try one, but they are pretty messy so I waited until I got home. They are very good and satisfy the sweet tooth. The Zulu was delicious!! I'm so glad I was able to order the drink this time! It's only for a limited time so I will have to go back and get it again before it's gone. Thank you to Reid and Christian for helping to make this experience a much better one!

Peach Green Tea - Strawberry Lemonade - Wild Berry Lemonade Service was amazing!! Really cool place, and TOTALLY worth ditching Starbucks for!! My daughter and I will totally be frequent customers.

They have a rewards system. Who doesn't like free after so many purchases!!?!! The beignets are really good and ask for a little extra powdered sugar so they are coated nicely. Pairs well with their hot coffee and thick socks in front of a warm fireplace during the winter. Heavenly!!!! Go check them out.

my friend didn't care for the muffin. their drinks are pretty overpriced it's like $8 for a redbull drink. nothing against staff.

Great service authentic in its model tasty and made to order beignets. Since my friend and I was trying their shop for the first time and went with recommendations the server offered to provide us something else should we not have been satisfied with our order. I am a sucker for places that stand by their brand like that. The staff was able to tell us the history and origin of the business model which was unexpected. Most importantly they had a warm welcoming vibe and were very accommodating.

Love the local vibe. Coffee selections are good. A good place to hangout on a lazy weekend. One of our go to coffee shops in the neighborhood when we get tired of starbucks.

They added coffee to my milk....(sarcasm) One of the ladies was pretty rude when asking if i've been helped, the rest were great. It's ambience nice but i'm never going back here again yuck!!

This PJs has gone downhill. Orders are messed up, food is microwaved too long, and the coffee is flat. I used to think PJs was a treat to myself, but now it's a problem. It's expensive and the quality is far below other competitors. It used to be better than Starbucks, but now it's much worse. Next time I'll save my money and get quality food and coffee from Black Rock just down the street. Honestly, the Shipley's next door has better food, service and coffee and that's not saying much.

Okay y'all! You have to get your coffee from this spot. PERIOD. I've been in a number of groups dedicated to promoting black-owned business and kept hearing (reading) about this place. Everyone who visited PJs talked about how amazing the coffee was, but no one mentioned the stellar customer service - they are the chick fila of coffee, imho. I'd describe PJs offerings as gourmet and a couple of steps above Starbucks. I opted for the cold/frozen coffee options since it's 1,000° in Houston. If you are a coffee fanatic like I am and love the taste of strong coffee, you would want to focus on the granitas which you can customize with a specific flavor and type of milk (I opted for hazelnut and almond milk). The ices are lighter on the coffee and heavy on the flavor (almost reminds me of a shaved ice-esque sort of drink). They also have an assortment of desserts (try their beignets - they are almost reminiscent of Cafe Dumond). So basically, if you love coffee and haven't gotten a chance to try PJs, you are missing out. I highly recommend and look forward to grabbing a next cup soon!

I have been looking for another place for tea in the morning (coffee amps me up too much for some reason), and this place came up on Yelp! search. There were mixed reviews on the breakfast sandwiches, so I admittedly put off going here for a while. Finally made it there this weekend. Folks behind the counter were friendly and service was quick (admittedly it was a relatively quiet Sunday morning). Chai latte was tasty but had a large amount foam. Breakfast sandwich (rewarmed feta and spinach croissant) was ok. Overall a pretty good experience.

It's so delicious and authentic! The quaint little cafe is usually full of people enjoying their wonderful coffee and treats ! The outdoor area is a nice addition as well - you can always drive through if you're in a rush !

Nice spot for coffee with plenty of seating and bumping music. Friendly customer service Several different coffee items to choose from - hot, iced, blended etc. Serving a few breakfast and lunch items. We tried the freshly made beignets and they were delightfully delicious. Ordered two lattes - Carmel creme and pralines n' creme. Note: 12oz latte only come with 1 shot of espresso. They do serve alternative milk. Overall, I enjoyed my visit!

I actually like this place but they will change or run out of the recipe and try to make due with what they have. Instead of alerting the customer. I always can tell when they do that. So I wished they would be more honest. I always get the frozen hot chocolate! That's my go to

Really lovely coffee shop with fantastic service. Nice place to get some work done. Lots of outlets and tables inside and outside. Super cute decor and amazing coffee. Also clean bathrooms! I personally would probably only come back inside after covid, as their tables were quite close together in some sections of the cafe making people seated very close together when it gets crowded. It would be good if they can block off some seats or find a way to make more distance between the tables, as people take off their masks to eat and drink and some just keep it off. That being said they also have a drive thru as well!

I love this spot! I've been a few times and I can say the Cafe au Lait is where it's at! I've also had the beignets and a ham croissant type pastry - both delicious. The drive thru moves relatively quickly, but slower than Starbucks and for good reason! This coffee is a step above. The staff is nice and friendly too. ISSAGO!!!

I love coffee. I love beignets. They missed the mark on both counts. The coffee was okay in flavor but really high in acid. The beignets were undercooked and very greasy. Like 3 little square lumps. I ate 1/2 of one and we tossed the rest. I will try them one more time as I hear they have chicory coffee in a month or so.

The coffee and the breakfast egg sandwich hits the spot every time. I love that people from the neighborhood come and gather there.

I was pretty excited to see a new coffee shop open up near my work. We tried PJs and so far it's been pretty good, comparable to Starbucks for sure. My husband love the Grenada they serve because it reminds him of the blue mountain one he had while we were in Jamaica. It's like a coffee slush! That's pretty much all he gets when we go. Ive tried a few different things like their Pumpkin spiced latte and their nitro brew. But really my go to is just a large Latte. They all taste like coffee. Nothing amazing but nothing bad either. This place even has coffee by the lb you can buy and k-cups. I got a sample of their king cake one and it was pretty good. The white chocolate caramel cookie is amazing. Definitely worth a try.
