Place de la Bastille

Loved the market which sits every Sunday and Thursday. Lots of antiques, collectibles, cheap clothes, old knick-knacks. Family style food. From Paella, to pizza, to Escaragots, to Oysters and vinegar, sweets, dried fruits, carpets, warm clothes, old cameras, you get everything. A very people-ey people's market.

Place de la Bastille is a large and lively square with strong historical significance. At its center stands the July Column, illuminated at night and topped by the golden Génie de la Liberté, which becomes particularly striking after dark. The area is busy and dynamic, with constant traffic and pedestrian movement, reflecting the modern rhythm of the city. While it is not a quiet or traditionally scenic square, it represents an important part of Parisian history and daily life. At night, the lighting adds atmosphere and highlights the monument, making it worth passing through, especially when exploring nearby neighborhoods. An interesting stop for its symbolism and urban character.

Place de la Bastille is full of life! The surrounding restaurants and especially the Sunday market bring a vibrant energy, in such a striking contrast with the historic events that took place here.

Place de la Bastille in Paris is a very versatile area. The monument itself is a beacon in the city with the tall column with the bright gold angelic figure on top with wings spread wide. The metro station is a major hub that can get you just about anywhere in the city. Lots of restaurants located all around the very large circle roadway along with the Opera. Market on weekends is great too.

My first time to visit a French market and the flea market on the next street. We had a great time here. We came in at around lunch time and were able to get some food, fruits, vintage pendant, vintage broach and a cute top for my mom. Merchants are nice and be prepared to get out your google translator cause not all merchant can speak English. Remember you are in their country so at least a little French and smile will come a long way. I never had any issues with anyone in France.

Ok, I wasn't expecting the whole construction was stand up, but there are a few stones (they were moved by the way) on a park, and the park is close because they are fixing or something... It took us thirty minutes on the metro to arrived there, it doesn't worth.

Very nice landmark! Easy to get to and have a very beautiful surrounding!
