Worked a wedding on Saturday June 29, 2019 here. Everything was going just fine until the maître D working on site that evening decided to remove our table, water and everything that was on it while we were ok the floor covering the action. No one warned us of anything and to our shock, as well as the DJ and the videographer on site. We were totally left hanging. All our stuff was moved without asking us if we wanted to move our table somewhere else. When confronting the maître D, he did not apologize for treating us like second class citizens. Half of my equipment was moved to a location that was not secure near the back door, which was open at the time and anyone could have walked away with thousands of dollars worth of equipment.
His excuse was “ I have to set my sweet table’” that’s was it. If this young guy had any respect and class, he would have offered to relocate us elsewhere or at least tell us what was going to happen. He clearly didn’t give a **** about any of us. Very poor outcome to was was a decent service. Outside of the hellish parking situation in old port, this is not a location I would recommend to our clients. We have worked at many great venues in town with MUCH better treatment of everyone, including vendors who are also PEOPLE and should be respected as such. Where I am for we call people like this maître D a “Cafone”.
