Houston Chefs Raise More Than $30,000 for Women’s Health Organizations | Eater Houston

"I learned that a dinner at Giacomo’s raised over $7,500 to buy birth control for patients of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, and organizers emphasized that many restaurant workers are uninsured and depend on Planned Parenthood and other funded clinics for affordable, high-quality care." - Amy McCarthy

Everyone I experienced, from the front desk staff to the providers, was pleasant, informed, helpful, and kind. I thoroughly appreciated my visit, and am grateful to be treated like a person in a medical setting— that is unfortunately not the standard with the state of healthcare in the US. I believe in Planned Parenthood and what they stand for so I am happy to receive my gyno services here. I loved how clean this location was too, I had to do a bit of driving to get a same day appointment but this location made it worth it. I also love not having to go to a pharmacy because the meds I needed were given at the end of my visit. 10/10. Edit for wait time: I was called less than 5 minutes after I completed all my documents at the front desk. I did spend about 2hrs in the clinic from start to finish for my visit which was a general/ quick fix concern, but I was given snacks and great care so I really didn’t mind.

Had an amazing first experience today. Front staff was friendly and asked questions without bias. Had the nexplanon implant inserted today and all the nurses took their time to answer my questions and explain everything; Insertion was a breeze. They even provide anal and oral swabs for std Pannel testing (in addition to urine and blood) . 65/10 will be going there again. 🤍

This place stands for their government funding. The disgraceful way they've begun operating isn't who they use to be. Ten minutes late for a birth control appointment, calling with no answer, get all the way there to be told my appointment is canceled. REALLY.? The front desk needs to be humbled. They have no clue what their even supposed to be representing. This organization is nothing more than people who couldn't relate to its own patients turning a blind eye.

idk what these reviews be talking about but my experience here was wonderful. i got the nexplanon implant and the whole process was smooth and validating. the front desk lady was gentle, the ladies explained the procedure perfectly and fixed any insecurities i had about it. the provider of the insertion itself was also gentle and made me feel very secure about the entirety of my experience. they answered all questions i had. lovely place.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had at any gyno/clinic. Everyone is extremely nice and knowledgeable. Keisha my nurse was so so nice and patient! Any one I came in contact with was extremely warm and welcoming. They’re so thorough. Everything I needed/wanted to get done or asked about was done in one visit. And they follow up. This was my first experience with planned parenthood and I can’t stop telling all the women around me how great of an experience it was.

Before I scheduled my appointment here, I took a look at the reviews like i usually do. Saw a lot of people mostly complaining about the wait time, which I agree would be annoying if you had a scheduled appointment. But I made my appointment I believe 5 days in advance, cause my situation is very time sensitive. Obviously I was nervous, anxious, I really didn't want to go, but I had to. When I got there, the waiting room staff was incredibly welcoming and nice. I immediately lost that feeling of anxiety and didn't feel a lick of judgement from anybody, which I was also nervous about. I think I waited approximately 15-20 minutes before my appointment was officially started, and from there I was seen every 10 minutes, at least, whenever someone left the room. They were very professional, very nice, and made me feel very comfortable. Considering the reasons I was there, I am more than happy with my visit. You have to expect a wait time at any doctors office, that's just life. Some days I'm sure are bussier than others, but overall I had an amazing experience!!

These people really care about their patients and were amazing. Nick did a fantastic job at explaining my process to me and giving me all the information I needed to know (and their nails were absolutely fantastic). There was another person there that had rainbow colored hair and I wish I remembered her name but everything was a blur. She was very compassionate and helped me understand what meds they would give me for my procedure. Really great staff. The only thing I could complain about was the wait time. Was there from 10:45 until close to 5 on an empty stomach. But to be fair, alot of people were in there, and I was just hungry. The nice person with the rainbow hair gave me ginger ale and crackers for my nausea.
