Worth the trip. I had heard they were much farther along in their goals of sustainability and zero waste than they really are, but they're definitely making progress towards it. The tour was informative and the food vendors inside were all delicious and knowledgeable about The Plant.

An extraordinary place to tour, volunteer at, or shop local. A beautiful addition to this historical Back Of The Yards neighborhood in Chicago and perhaps the most enjoyable Farmers Market I've ever visited. Go explore Closed Loop Systems & Shop fresh produce all year round @ plantchicago!

Wonderful space with so much going on. The farmers market had a great variety of things, many of which were made on site by different vendors. The work they’re doing about closed loop systems is very cool, and it’s great to be able to see some of those things in the different spaces around the building. The bar area is also awesome, very good beer selection and incredibly fresh and delicious pizza.

I absolutely love this place. I have done some volunteering here over the winter. I wish I had time to volunteer more. If you are into Green Tech, Sustainability, Agriculture, Closed Loop systems and farmers markets, you should make time for a visit. They have farmer's markets once a month on Saturdays and tours most weekends.

This is a great place to tour and to look forward to being a patron to in the future. The building is great because it was an old slaughter house with some of its original charms still intact. There is lots of information to collect from the volunteers and plenty of opportunities to become a volunteer.

One of my favorite non profit organizations in Chicago. They focus on sustainability and waste reducing. Do me a favor and check out their new place which is an old firehouse that they are renovating and it's starting to look amazing. They also hold a farmer's market over the summer in a park just across the street from them.

I love the concept of Plant Chicago. It's a good organization with a worthwhile purpose. My disappointment comes from a specific instance of poor communication from one of the third-party workshop instructors. Since I don't live in the city and almost never frequent this part of Chicago, it left a stronger impression. The staff were great though and are reflective of the Plant.

Definitely a must go to. This place is amazing and there are so many business in here that are doing good things for the environment and community. They offer tours and have farmers market too. Worth a trip from wherever you are. Definitely kids friendly or adult friendly. A must go to for plant lovers.
