The Best Restaurants and Bars Near San Diego State University (SDSU) | Eater San Diego

"The campus outpost of this homegrown but-steadily-growing vegan fast-food chain does crowd-pleasing meatless versions of comfort food, such as the Big Zac with two burger patties and special sauce and a crispy faux chicken sandwich. The Snow Days dessert features oat milk soft-serve ice cream blended with candy and cookies." - Candice Woo

Located near a transit stop, this restaurant has great food and selections. All vegan fast food including the condiments with fast, friendly service. ♿ This place is up a set of stairs but also has a one wheelchair lift that does work. From there a ramp leads to the entrance. So this is accessible, including the bathrooms. Speaking of bathrooms, the men's room is well overdue for some deep cleaning of the urinal and two sinks, thus the 3 stars for atmosphere. While a bit smaller than others in the chain, it does have outdoor covered seating and is definitely worth a visit! There are CC or coin meters as well as a large parking garage about a block's walk away. They also have two child chairs. I do recommend this location, just be aware that parking can be a challenge and hopefully the bathrooms will get some well-deserved attention soon.

Google
Absolutely bangin vegan food. It’s quick, easy, and delicious! Service is on point and they get you your food quick! The space is nice and easy to get to. You can’t go wrong their wraps. And their ranch??? Crazy.

Google
So impressed! - spicy 'chicken' sandwich, chocolate peanut butter shake, sweet potato fries, chicken salad, all fantastic. Access to the store was a little interesting but worth it, beautiful shop, great staff. -my favorite part was that after I had fast food, I actually felt great

Google
I like location staff and all. Review is lower because they got rid of southwestern avocado wrap. It’s the best and now this place isn’t worth the trip.

Google
Incredible vegan fast food. 10/10. I had the bacon cheese burger, an AMAZING crispy chicken caesar salad, and of course the iconic fries. The iconic fries are similar to the familiar animal style fries, but WAY better. The menu is absolutely huge, and not only has ice cream, but milkshakes and blizzards too. The food was fast and absolutely delicious. Please bring a location to the PNW!

Google
So I was looking for a vegan burger place or something as close to healthy as I could get and this place was a suggestion. I was craving a burger and fries and decided to check it out. BE WARNED ⚠️ The parking here is little to non-existent ⚠️ I litterly mean they rent out a spot in an apartment building complex and have one spot you can park in for only 10 min. I had parking guy tell me I had to park down the way and walk up but it was only 15 min parking and there was a parking garage but for SDSU students it looked like. Oh yah also there are so many people walking around as it is located in with the SDSU college! I drove around what felt like the entire campus. I was apparently going down a one way that I had no idea and then got myself going down roads I didn't think I should be. I was so stressed to the point of tears and called the place and asked where I should park because I was going to give up. I got there and ordered. The staff is very nice. The food.....not so much. Definitely a miss. The presentation was terrible as you can see. The fries were so salty and greasy because they are so small ot was pretty much all grease. I got a kombucha float that has icecream in it. After sadly ordering it I realized I should have it due to health reasons. When my order came up I giggled and shyly explained I shouldn't have this drink and didn't realize that until after. She laughed and said "well atleast you can eat the icecream". I wasn't offered anything else but it's my fault for not remember what I should and shouldn't have. Also another thing ⚠️ don't get the kombucha float unless you can drink it right away! The ice cream is sickening sweet on it own. Again I couldn't drink the kombucha and was just taking it home. The kombucha was litterly pushing the icecream out of the cup and I had to pull over at one point to scrape off the top! I was so upset I just wanted to throw it out of my car but I dont condone littering. I am giving two stars as I believe they are onto something with a vegan sandwich place but the quality and prices (I paid 24 for my drink, sandwich and fries) are just not at all worth it when there are other places that I think are just better overall. I can see this place only being good for the people going to school there as it is convenient for them but not outside patrons. The whole experience was terrible. The burger tasted ok. I won't be going back though.

Google
Probably the best vegan fast food we’ve had and it’s pretty solid fast food in general. The star of our meal was the Nashville Hot “Chicken” Sandwich - the coleslaw really made it.

Google
You really can’t go wrong with the food at Plant Power. Everything is tasty, and now, having been to all five of their locations, I am happy to report that the quality is consistent across all of them. If I went to SDSU, I would be here a few times a week. The service was friendly and pretty fast, though it was not that busy tonight. The Buffalo 66 is the highlight of the menu in my opinion and I would only recommend getting it as a wrap if you’re driving—otherwise the bun is the way to go.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite vegan food places, I absolutely love their vegan chicken caesar salad it's like so yummy! But please please bring back your old recipe for it as an option on the menuit was so yummy and refreshing with garbanzo beans instead of croutons either way it's still so yummy and i definitely recommend!

Yelp
VEGAN FAST FOOD (4 stars) - FOOD: good - PRICE: fair - SERVICE: good - AMBIANCE: typical fast food place without the stinch of a fast food place Did you know along time ago in my early 30s, I attempted going vegan... sadly it lasted only a couple months. This born again carnivore still enjoys eating plants. Honestly, what prompt me to come here was a sample of impossible burger patty at Costco (it was so good) that when I told myself when a burger crave happens I'll have to get it with fake meat. Well... JR. CHEESEBURGER MEAL ($13.95) - choice of "beef" or hippy patty - went for the "beef". American "cheese", chopped onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. The least favorite of this cheese burger was the cheese; not a fan and never will be a fan of vegan cheese. The "beef" patty was ok - not like how imagine it to be as tasty as Costco's sample of impossible burger patty. It just tasted "different". Eating a vegan cheese burger made me satisfied where I wasn't hungry anymore nor was I full where my belly was protruding past my breasts. I'm glad I got the Jr cheese burger, this was plenty enough for someone who eats like a bird. If you are consuming a kids meal, it's a jr. cheese burger without the extras like chopped onions and pickles. FRIES - they were good. Typical but good. Their house made ketchup was good, little tangy but good. HIBISCUS ICE TEA - flavors of hibiscus, rose, and orange. Love me some ice tea in the summer time. Of the soda drinks and ice teas, this one caught my eye the most. It wasn't sweet but it was mellow. Will def come back to try another but not in a rush too. The meats are calling for the next burger run. Until the next review...

Yelp
So I love the milkshakes/ ice cream from this place considering I can't have dairy. I've tried the foods a couple times. I had their special fries (vegan in n out animal style fries) those are bombbbb Chicken nuggets? So goooood Black bean burger definitely not,,,it tasted like an armpit (sorry yo ) And I just tried the chicken caesar salad! The chicken was soooo bomb for vegan chicken loved the texture and flavor. The dressing was,,good but had an aftertaste. I give it a 6.5/10 over all but the chicken 10/10

Yelp
I tried plant power for the first time and as someone who hasn't had McDonald's in 10+ years, their big Zac burger really hit the spot! The food tasted just like the big mac I remember from McDonald's. The service was great and the place was clean. I ordered their strawberry shake which was delicious, I just wish I could taste more strawberry. It tasted more like vanilla. The location was hard to find since their are located within SDSU. Not sure where customers can park...as I had to leave my car running while my sister went in to order. Either way, I look forward to coming back and trying more off their menu.

Yelp
I usually don't leave reviews on food I've had delivered because I feel like the experience is not as great as it would be in person... however, I was NOT expecting it to be so well packaged and delicious. A+ on portions... not only am I thoroughly impressed with the quality, taste and presentation. It's very rare that you can order a burger from delivery and the bun not be soggy. Soggy bun = sad burger. But not for these burgers. Not a vegan but this place is too good to pass up.

Yelp
Plant Power is the bomb.com! I love this place so much that I've chosen it for my birthday dinner two years in a row! My husband's a big fan of the Horchata Shake, and we always order the fries and Western Burger. Lately, I've been hooked on their Buffalo Strips or Sandwich. We also love taking our dog for a walk around campus and then eating on their patio. The service is consistently great, and Krystal is always super friendly whenever we stop by, usually at least once a month!

Peggy H.

Yelp
I recommend stopping by for their incredible Carne Asada Fries and Brownie Snow Day but NOT the Chicken Wrap. The fries were absolutely delicious, as was the Snow Day. The only thing I would love to change about the ice cream would be larger brownie pieces. The wrap was so disgusting and bland. We practically threw away the entire entree. The younger Asian woman was very sweet and provided great customer service! Dog friendly and lots of seating indoors and outdoors.

Yelp
I'm not vegan but I liked it a lot. The iconic burger with the "beefy" patty was really tasty! The cheese doesn't taste like real cheese, but it has its own flavor that I like. They also have their own drinks that are refreshingly different than the usual fast food soda. The fries are, well, fries. The chicken nuggets are a little bland but they're great with the secret sauce. The service was fine and quick. It was a little expensive, however. Other than that, it was great overall.

Yelp
So I was curious to know what they used in their meat substitutes (soy, tempe, seitan). Asked the cashier and she had no idea. I also felt weird for asking, as if i was inconveniencing her or something. She told me they were "plant-based". Gee, thanks, very enlightening. Gonna be real here. I dont think that's a crazy thing to ask. Many vegans have food allergies. Some of us are just curious about what we're eating. I've been to and worked in some well-reknowned vegan spots across the country. Definitely not an uncommon thing to ask or to hear. In any case, the food was good at least! But maybe have your staff be more aware of what the food is made of? Vegans are pretty conscious of what they eat. Also, don't make me feel weird for asking, please. One more thing: this place is not on the ground floor. You gotta go up some stairs to get here. No ramp or functional elevator in sight. Good luck to my friends who may have mobility issues!

Yelp
All good is vegan, they make delicious meals, that tastes almost like Mexican, keep in mind there is not meat or animal products in it. Staff was friendly and the service is great, can be for a family or friends reunion. Serving portions are big at a good price. Desert "coconut cake" was delicious perfect balance between taste and sugar. Definitely is a good start if you are thinking to start in the vegan diet.

Yelp
Nice and clean place. The staff is very friendly. The Veggie Burger and Peanut Butter Milk shake was delicious.

Yelp
I've been to Plant Power a few times but this was my first time at this location. Like other comments mention it is a little hard to find, but they have such a large and nice patio. Their Iconic Fries are my favorite, even my non-vegan friends love them! I also got their Nashville Hot 'Chicken' Sandwich which was good, but it would have been better if it had a spicy sauce vs a spice rub on the chicken. Their milkshakes are super bomb too!
google avatar

Marianna L.

Yelp
Delicious indeed, but the portions are small to the point where it comes off as over priced. Pretty sure its like $15/ sandwich with no side and its noticeably small :(.
google avatar

Courtney G.

Yelp
Great food and amazing customer service! The only downside is that it's right next to college and doesn't have parking but does have a pick up parking spot.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
I got a California burrito and a cookie to-go, and both were ready punctually. The burrito was really filling and well-flavored and dense in the best way. It was a good cookie. Prices were quite reasonable. This is a great option on SDSU's campus. The only downside is how many steps you have to ascend to get here.
google avatar

Zana K.

Yelp
Located right next to SDSU, this spot is hidden in what seems to be an apartment complex. Theres a stairway that will lead you to the entrance if youre by the bus stop. I ordered through their self-check out kiosk and got the 3 piece tenders, iconic fries, and a small drink. My total came out to $15 which is pretty high for such a small meal. The iconic fries were sooo good. Tastes exactly like In n Out fries. The fries were a smidge too salty but it was fine. The chicken tenders were also crunchy and really good. The "chicken" was super realistic and i kept trying to guess what vegan meat this was but i think it is seitan. Ive never had seitan before but it feels just like chicken. I am not vegan whatsoever but ive had my eye on this place for awhile because I love the concept! Im excited to come back and try the rest of their menu items!

Yelp
Went to the dog beach and thought I would try this place out... $40 for 2 people!! Wtf?? Super expensive for fast food. Burger was yuck, fry serving was super small and lemonade tasted like lemon juice, a lil sugar and water... all yuck. -5 stars. Staff was a lil weird. Music was too loud to hear anything inside. Weird experience.

Yelp
I was at SDSU campus for a conference in the Student Center. The conference didn't have vegan lunch options, so I was so happy to see Plant Power just a few minutes away. When I was in college 10 years ago, even finding vegetarian options was hard! I appreciated the large varied menu, since I didn't want anything overly greasy. I ordered the Southwest Avocado Wrap. It was filling and tasty, with just the right amount of spice in the chipotle sauce. The cashier was friendly and had my order out quickly. I took my food to-go, but it looked like there was a solid amount of indoor and outdoor seating. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
The plant power fast food was good. This place is located at SDSU. I was impressed by how everything from the burger and bacon vegan sliders came close to the traditional beef and pork flavoring. We ordered the iconic, cheese and regular hamburgers with bacon. While the premise of vegan is acknowledged, the taste of the burger was bland and somewhat off-putting. Adding parsley, basil, mint, cilantro and other spices or dried herbs into the meals could have added zest and supplemented nutrition. The most promising of the bunch is the milkshakes which have flavors from strawberry to horchata. It was refreshing. I give this healthy drink alone a 5.0. We requested burgers with no pickles and avocado but all ended up having it and found all this when we got home. Overall, this place is not that bad, especially for a vegan place. The staff was nice and the facility was kept clean. Overall this place is rated at 3.5. But I can also see it as 4 or 5 without the minor hiccups. We'll certainly visit again.

Yelp
Not terrible. Everything was good except for the fake meat itself. I have had a lot of fake meat before and I know it can be good. This meat wasn't great. The service is always good and the ambience is fresh and energetic.

Yelp
Amazing service employees name is Jade she was very nice made me smile and every time I go they always have my order prepared amazingly. Always fun to see her working when she's working I know my order is gonna be great. Always happy to serve all the customers which is amazing. I would say Employee of the month that's how amazing and helpful she is.

Yelp
I had a western burger, my lady had a pepper jack. Service was excellent. Poor worker was running the regester and cooking. Someone left her alone to serve old people going to the basketball game. Even in a time of crises it was good. Except the floor was sticky and the music was not good. I go often now, always good and there are at least a couple of workers. Strange thing, floors still sticky, always sticky, maybe get a swifter.

Yelp
I prefer the OB location, even if I have to drive further. They consistently forget items in this location and parking is a pain. The last straw was a couple of weeks ago that we drove for 20 min around the area looking for parking. There was a red car parked in the single spot they have assigned for PP, we started suspecting that they were not customers. We were right... the car belonged to drunk college kids (one of them peed in the parking lot) that were visiting the apartments in the area. The restaurant has to do a better job to take ownership of their spot or rent more parking spots. They have lost our business in this location for the meantime.

Yelp
There's temporary 20 minute parking in lot 5A. It's just an easy walk towards the street and up the stairs. With COVID 19, the patio space is cleared from tables and chairs. As you approach the ordering counter, you're greeted by a self order kiosk with hand sanitizer on the side. For pick up, there's a window outside with a bell for when orders are ready. You never have to deal with any humans. 1) Big Zac - added bacon, grilled onions and secret sauce. This burger was a monster! Tasty too. 2) chicken sandwich - option of crispy or grilled. I got crispy with chipotle sauce. The bun was soft and the chicken could use a little more crispiness but then again this wasn't fried chicken so you get enough layer of flaky crispy skin. 3) Iconic fries - added grilled onions and secret sauce. One of the best vegan fries compared to other places. The cheese and sauce with the grilled onion totally reminded me of In N Out fries! Super yummy. 4) Coffee milkshake - nice and creamy with coffee flavor just like ice cream. Can't go wrong on a hot day. Overall, this place was delicious and even after I consumed everything, I felt full but not stuffed with heavy oil after taste like when you're eating real meat. Plant Power will get many future visits from us!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome friendly service, clean space, great food. My only complaint is that there is no parking if you're not a student. Just follow the sign that says plant burger this way

Yelp
I love Plant Power, I just tried their Hippie burger meat sub, it was delicious, the Sweet Potato fries were yummy too

Yelp
Whenever I'm in San Diego and want vegan fast food PP is my go to place. It never fails. This visit I kept it simple with a cheese burger and fries. Quick and tasty. I did have to send my fries back because they were too salty, they immediately replaced them with no problem. This location gets pretty busy as it's located on a college campus.

Yelp
Plant Power is super cute, especially with their outdoor seating area. There is plenty of tables, chairs, and shade which can be enjoyed on a nice day in San Diego. Very aesthetic for taking nice Instagram pictures that's for sure. I personally only got to try the soft serve ice cream. It's definitely the closest thing to soft serve ice cream in terms of texture but as for flavor, I would say no. There is a bit of an aftertaste that I can not describe. But it's definitely the best vegan soft serve that I've tried in San Diego thus far. I don't recommend getting chocolate sauce with the soft serve as it is VERY overpowering. I could barely taste the soft serve itself because of this and had to dig from the inside out to get a taste of it. Plus literally I saw them squeeze it out of a Hershey's bottle, I legit have one of those at home for $3, you're gonna make me pay $1 extra dollar just for a couple of squeezes out of that bottle? Yeah no thanks. It's pricey to pay $5.33 for soft serve with chocolate syrup. I get that it's vegan, and vegan things are more expensive but still, come on. There are people who can't eat dairy due to allergies and that isn't by choice. Also for whoever is serving the ice cream, if I'm going to pay $5.33, can you guys at least fill the middle?? My biggest pet peeve is when I dig into the middle of something and it's literally empty in the middle, like y'all cheating me from my money and taste buds This spot is convenient for SDSU students but if you don't go to SDSU or live in the area, I wouldn't go cuz there is no parking unless you want to pay in the parking structures, just go to OB instead.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know if it's just me, but my friend and I had the hardest time trying to find the entrance! And parking! Ugh! Ordering was super quick and easy since there wasn't anyone there. I was super excited to try since I've heard about how good it is! With plant based protein on the rise, I've had some good vegan burgers so far! I got a combo that included a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink- I got blueberry soda out of curiosity. The soda tasted extremely fake- think store bought blueberry muffin level fake. It wasn't unbearable, but I've had much better blueberry beverages. The burger was obviously plant based, and I wasn't a huge fan of their patty. The other elements were really good, especially the grilled onion! Their fries were also great! Overall I'm a little disappointed, especially for the price point. There's so much potential though, and I hope they will continue to evolve and develop more burger patty recipes!

Yelp
Been here twice and both times I had to get the Pumpkin Pie milkshake. It is soooo good! Have to say SDSU students are lucky to have this place in campus. As someone who is lactose intolerant I appreciate vegan places as I know I will be able to eat anything on the menu. This location just happens to be the one nearest me, but parking can be a pain. I just have to plan my Trader Joe's trip along with Plant Power to make it worth it. The burger and fries are good. The burger patty is pretty good in that it does not have that weird aftertaste that some vegan patties do. The cherry on top are the sauces to dip the fries in. No fav as i like them all. I def plan to come back and try the horchata and cookies and cream milkshakes. That is how Power Plant got me hooked in the first place.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was really good and fresh. So good that my carnivorous 6-year old niece from Tennessee, had no idea she was eating a "veggie" burger or "veggie" chicken nuggets. We called them "California" meals and she couldn't taste the difference. A kid would have been the first one to call out any funny tastes, but she didn't. She ate every bite, and so did we! Minus one star for the very long food wait times (like wayyyy too long, almost minus two stars), and they charge for sauces! One BBQ and one ranch will run you an extra $1! Imagine, you get fries for $2.75, but if you want anything other than ketchup or mustard, you'll be paying 0.50 per cup, all the way up. Not cool TBH. They also only give you one sauce cup for 8 nuggets! Super cheap. Location is also NOT convenient for non-college students. There isn't any parking nearby without a two minute walk (which is fine, but if you're in a hurry, look elsewhere).
google avatar

Arnold T.

Yelp
The buffalo wings were a bit soggy from the buffalo sauce. I personally like Veggie Grill's version better. The texture and flavor of the mock chicken wasn't great either. Buffalo sauce was good and I had the special sauce instead of the ranch. The special sauce was good on the fries. I had a bite of the guacamole burger from my boyfriend and I liked it better than what I ordered. Drinks are not refillable.
google avatar

Malease T.

Yelp
I ordered the lunch combo with the Buffalo burger and upgraded the fries to the iconic fries. I've had the iconic fries numerous of times and I love it. The Buffalo burger was okay, I definitely prefer the Buffalo "wings" than the burger.
google avatar

Donna B.

Yelp
Excellent place to go if you are Vegan. All menu items are plant based. Milk shakes, chocolate chip cookies, cheesecake, grab and go items, burgers, fries chicken and fish soy substitutes. Portions are large. The burger is big enough to share. This location is at San Diego State University and student can use their meal plan at this location. Inside seating is very limited (4 table for two). Majority of seating is outdoors. Location is a walk up to second floor. There is an elevator lift providing handicap access.

Aada H.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to try Plant Power and saw that they had California Burritos on the menu. I loooove california burritos and have even tried a different vegan one from a different restaurant. I am not vegan, but it is fun to try. Personally, I would not rank Plant Power's California Burrito at the top of the list for vegan burritos. But it wasn't bad! However, the buffalo wings on the other hand were actually quite good! Especially with their vegan ranch, which was yummm. I probably wouldn't come here for their burrito, but maybe their chicken nuggets.
google avatar

Katrina P.

Yelp
Okay, this is probably one of my favorite if not my favorite vegan restaurant. If you're going to go for breakfast the breakfast burrito with a side of hash browns is unmatched. I think it's the chipotle sauce with a mix of spice and savory that makes it so good. Now if you're going for lunch or dinner the buffalo 66 ***as a wrap*** is the best option hands down. I've tried several burgers, the chicken sandwich, the chicken tenders, and no entre is better than the buffalo 66 as a wrap. The fries aren't the best, kinda floppy and not very crisp but the serving size is solid. The iconic fries are amazingly tasty and filling. Also...the milkshakes ... best non dairy milkshakes I've ever had. My preference is the chocolate strawberry. But many flavors I've tried have been good too. Last thing I will note is the quality does not changes from location to location. I've been to every San Diego location, the Long Beach location, and the Las Vegas location, all were equally great!

Yelp
I was excited to try this spot as vegan fast food options are exciting. I ordered the classic burger with the black bean patty and no lettuce. I also got a side of fries and ordered some secret sauce with it. I placed my order online which was convenient and it only took about 10 minutes before it was ready, they seem to be adhering to COVID regulations thoughtfully. The food itself was really nothing special. I was disappointed in the burger because although the Black bean patty was pretty good, the thing was just so damn dry. It comes with ketchup, mayo, AND mustard so you'd think you'd be okay but not so much. They put a couple drops of each, they were barely noticed. And the secret sauce that I ordered and paid 50 cents for wasn't in my bag either so that couldn't save the situation. The side of fries though was a great bang for your buck, although too salty, there were a ton of fries in the bag for only $2.75. I think the prices here are very fair, food was alright, but definitely left me a little bummed out after.

Yelp
Big Zac is a must try...many ppl brag about there hot wings... I was not impressed but thats bc I am not a big fan of buffalo sauce so I pass on hot wings ... the chicken tendera are better for me. My favorites: - big zac with honey mustard sauce or with the chipotle sauce ... pretty good! -Iconic fries are also delicious. Enjoy!
google avatar

Mike H.

Yelp
I've been eating here at the Sunset Cliffs restaurant since they opened it was very good in the beginning however the food is definitely gone downhill I ordered a big Zac Burger the other day and it was truly the two thinnest patties I've ever seen from any place kind of sad. The bread was also extremely dry and clearly not fresh

Yelp
My first impression was the staffs are super friendly and nice. I like to go to places that have good customer service so I definitely love this!!! The chicken tenders and nuggets were both really good, the texture inside of them were similar which was kinda soft and chewy at the same time but definitely very moist and flavorfulthey didn't have that boring soggy texture and weird bean/veggie scent as other vegan chicken that I bought from grocery store . The outside of the nuggets was crispier than the tenders and the tenders were a little saltier than the nuggets. But I like them both. The fries were not very impressive but the vegan cheese and sautéed onions were great together. Their bbq sauce and honey mustard paired well with chicken. It's funny I also tried my left over chicken tenders with some rice and I was in love so I will definitely comeback here for the vegan chicken However the buffalo wings were not my favorite, they were soggy and so so spicy and sour but I guess that's what buffalo sauce supposed to be?! I meant if you like spicy and sour, then try it but my stomach definitely hated me after I ate it

Yelp
Our only experience with this PPFF location was a takeout order recently. It was just as great as all our experiences at their OB location. Food was ready, staff was friendly, and COVID-19 precautions were being adhered to. The only thing was the SDSU location was difficult to find. It's closest to parking lot 5A and there's spaces to park while you pickup your food. This PPFF will be a HUGE HIT with the students when these restaurant restrictions are finally over and the campus is back in full swing hopefully in the Fall of 2020.

Yelp
Honestly, the menu options are fantastic!! Love the variety of classics, especially the Big Zac, and yummy spruced up options like the Western or Holy Guacamole. The iconic and regular fries and the milkshakes are fantastic. Vegan cheesecakes, brownies, and cookies are available for desserts as well as floats and soft serve ice cream! The sodas are cane sugar variants that are naturally made. There are cute free stickers by the register too. The staff are college students for the most part so there are issues with missing or incorrect items pretty often - just be sure to check your order before you leave. The food is also usually pretty light on the sauce compared to other locations. They handle errors really well and have always been very friendly here. Their onion rings are delicious but you only get 2 small ones for $1.50 - unsure if that was an error as we've only tried the rings once. Other locations we've been to have had a much better experience with the quality and accuracy of food delivered consistently. Parking is almost nonexistent, just one parking space outside!

Yelp
I'm not even vegan, but this place rocks. The Big Zac was huge and tasted really good. I think the patty was or similar to the Impossible burger. The fries were awesome too. I enjoyedthe vegan thousand island dressing. The caramelized onions were very tasty. These reminded me of In-N-Out's animal style fries! Worth a trip even if you're not vegan. I was very surprised felt like I was at a normal fast food joint.

Yelp
Such a great vegan spot! Service is nice and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. I got the tenders with fries and a strawberry shake and wow. The tenders are well seasoned as well as its breading not being too thick. The fries were on the salty and soggy side, but thats how I prefer my fries so they tasted great to me! I chose ranch as my sauce and being a ranch girl, I can say their ranch is pretty good, I would've never thought it was vegan. It also looked home made. The strawberry shake was creamy and sweet. You definitely taste soy in the shake. The only con was the price of that shake. Almost $6 and not even a large size, that's almost a whole meal! On a hot day you would want to choose a spot to eat indoor with AC, but their outdoor seating provides shade and a nice breeze. I think I only saw about 2 booths indoors. Overall, I highly recommend trying this spot. I think it can be comparable to Evolution. They have tenders, nuggets, burgers, wraps, fries, and desserts.

Yelp
Sign on the sidewalk says "Order Here" I've been standing here and no one has taken my order. There are no other instructions for ordering. There are also signs that say "Open Now" but they remain posted beyond the restaurants established operating hours. I cannot recommend Plant Power based on a sham "Place Your Order Here" feature which offers no benefit to the customer, beyond frustration.

Yelp
Hands down the best vegan spot in San Diego. Their nuggets are to die for. I tried the California burrito today-- I'm pretty sure they just stuffed one of their burger patties in it for the carne asada, but honestly I'm here for it because it was FIRE! The American cheese inside was an interesting twist. They were not skimpy at all with the ingredients-- the burrito was a great size. I hope they keep this item on their menu!

Yelp
Very good and will go back. Chicken and waffles had a good balance of sweet and savory.

Yelp
Vegan!!!! Had a great experience! Coffee shake is good. Chicken sandwich is thick and a bit dry. Could use some more sauce maybe? Will return for other items in the menu.
