"This Multnomah Village restaurant serves vegan renditions of dishes from around the world. Try the fried rice, which replaces meat with Indonesian fried tempeh, or the house bibimbap which comes with the choice of barbecue curls or tempeh. For those more in the mood for noodles, yakisoba and cold vermicelli are both available on the main menu. The mac and cheese often sells out early but is worth an order if available." - Rebecca Roland, Nick Townsend, Thom Hilton

This place is 🔥🔥🔥 Been here twice and the spicy noodles are crazy good and the famous fried rice was also good. (Spicy noodles #1 in my heart though) The way they season and cook the tempeh is the best I’ve ever had, super flavorful and crispy. It’s crazy. Portion sizes are huge too so value of the whole dish (Flavor, Size) is out of this world. Best vegan spot I’ve had the chance to try, hands down. If you haven’t left the coach to head there yet, you’re doing yourself a disservice.

Loved the fried rice. Packed with yummy tempeh with crunchy bits. The sauce and spring onion tie it all together. Huge portion sizes. Nice green outdoor seating area (including a covered area).

Google
Food was good. Aparently they’re closing at the end of the year. Small all vegan menu, very tasty. The tempeh was very yummy. 😋 I don’t recall seeing any drinks at all.

Visited this Plant-based 🌱🌱🌱chain for lunch Tried their famous fried rice 5/5 - loved the flavors- it comes with a side of kimchi that adds to the taste. It was perfectly seasoned, with just the right balance of savory flavors, sweetness, and umami notes. The dish was also packed with an array of fresh vegetables that added a delightful crunch to each bite. Spicy sesame salad 4/5 - The noodles were perfectly cooked, with a firm texture that held up well in the spicy sesame sauce. The sauce itself was a nice blend of heat, sweetness, and nuttiness. I wish they were a tad on the spicier side. Arepas 4/5- they have 2 version of it. One with falafel and the other with black beans. The Arepas were made with a flavorful corn dough and was cooked to perfection, with a slightly crispy exterior and a soft and fluffy interior. It came with a delicious sauce on the side - it was messy to eat but I really enjoyed the black bean one. The filling was a delicious blend of black beans, seasoned with just the right amount of spices. I couldn't really taste the garbanzo beans in the falafel one - it was perhaps masked by the flavors of arepas. They have seating outside the food, atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Great casual spot for lunch with family

Google
Delish! The nicest people and the greatest food! I had the best vegan bibimbap, it had so much flavor and it was served with so many little sides of different pickles and a little bite of corn salad. I can't say enough good things.

Google
Randomly wandering this area and fired up Yelp and our Happy Cow app for some vegan goodness. This place came up with glowing reviews, and know I know why! The food here is incredible, with maybe 8 or 9 items on the menu. All the items are varied, from frijoles to falafel, all delicious. I highly suggest one of arepa dishes, specifically the frijoles and papas if you're looking for a real treat. The guys working at the cart were friendly, helpful and some crazy amazing music to jam out to while waiting. It's worth a special trip to visit here for sure!

Google
Delicious, feel good, comfort food, that just happens to be good for you, & plant based. I am a meat loving, 3-5X a week BBQ, power lifting, gigantic man, and this fresh plant-based food filled me with deliciousness & comfort, & left me wanting nothing more than to return again to eat the Mac & Curls, ASAP. I appreciate the clean outdoor limited seating. My wife was both flabbergasted & thrilled that I suggested we eat at a place that didn’t serve meat. We ordered Curried Chickpeas $4.00, Mac & Curls $11.00, Frijoles y Papas $6.00, Kimino Japanese Yuzu Drink $2.85, Brew Dr. Kombucha (Ginger Turmeric) $3.50, for a total of $27.35 + tip. My only with is that they had dessert. You should 100% dine here, and get the Mac & Curls. Suggest they offer a dessert for me please.

I am not vegan but I do enjoy some vegan food. This place is absolutely delicious! The flavors mend so well together. I ordered the BBQ Mac and is was a decadent, rich, Creamy and had some great texture! The guys running the place are super friendly and inviting. I wanted to take a picture of the whole dish but I couldn't help but dive in!

Yelp
This place was tucked in an area wedged between a road and a moble beer truck. I came on a rainy afternoon. The outdoor seating arrangements featured picnic tables, an outdoor patio heater, and an enclosed iron-clad fire pit, creating a cozy atmosphere. Hahah. I opted for the spicy sesame soba, a dish combining Yakisoba noodles, cabbage, and carrots in a chili oil-style sauce, and garnished with ground tempeh saozi, fresh cucumber, and scallions. It was excellent as advertised! Since there weren't many people there, the food arrived quickly and remained hot and warm as I made my way back to downtown Portland. I will definitely be back to try other options later on this year.

Yelp
Literally feels like this food truck is in someone's backyard :) They have enough shaded seating area. Such a super cool place serving awesome Vegan food! We ordered famous fried rice and spicy sesame soba. Fried rice: I liked the house aioli on top of fried rice giving this dish another dimension. Spicy sesame soba: This is Dan-dan style noodles having that spicy kick - yummmm!!! Both were amazing but we liked spicy sesame soba more. Loved tempeh in both the dishes. The portion size is quite huge and both the dishes were garnished so beautifully. Also liked the fact that they took time to prepare the food freshly. Good job guys! I would definitely stop by here when I am in PDX next time.

Yolanda R.

Yelp
Still my favorite neighborhood vegan food truck. Became a customer three years ago when they first opened opened. The menu is a bit different and some of the menu items I have pictured are no longer available (E.g. arepas & falafel ). I love their food because it's healthy and delicious; the service is always friendly and the outdoor seating is spacious with shaded areas. The prices are very fair and the portions are especially generous, too. Give them a try if you're near Garden Home or Multnomah Village and looking for a healthy and delicious culinary experience. P.s. theirs a new beer cart business next to them too. Happy Eating!! :)

Yelp
Mmmmm yummy. Back after SUCH a long time because we were out and about and CLOSE by so I made the suggestion. My daughter had the Mac and Curls (and for someone who has typically not liked Mac and cheese that's vegan or plant based, which is both she and I!) And WOW. Yup. This is why this is a signature dish that will stay on the menu. She got the side of Esquites Deluxe and didn't want it. Oh well. Too bad. It was delicious lol. I gobbled it up!! I ordered the Vermicelli Cold Noodle because I hadn't tried it before and because I had REALLY wanted the Banh Mi. But they were out. Which caused great dispair and heartbreak for me. But that was okay because I ate a bit healthier lol The Vermicelli Cold Noodle was just okay. Nothing great about it. I'd definitely get the Mac and Curls next time. I was also feeling something warm and I should have followed my instincts. The staff was really nice and it's nice that there are tables outside to sit at. It would be nice for heat lamps but it's all good! We will be back again!!

Cara R.

Yelp
Food truck outside of Multnomah Village. Quick to get food. It was good but not sure it left me feeling like I would come back. Had the spicy soba noodles ($13).

Hayley H.

Yelp
This meat fanatic was pleasantly surprised by this vegan food truck! Decent portion sizes and reasonable prices. I tried the Famous Fried Rice and found it filling and delicious. Seems like a popular spot as all the picnic tables were taken.

Yelp
(Side-note: this is a review that had been sitting in my drafts for months and I JUST got around to finishing it. Hey, it's better late than never, am I right?) Rainy days call for food that makes you happy on rainy days; fresh plant-based food from Planted PDX! There were just so many delicious-looking items on the menu that I had a hard time choosing! I ended up going with the spicy sesame soba. My item was made fresh to order, so I lounged around for a handful of minutes 'til my meal was ready. And WOWEEE were the spicy noodles piping hot, were generously portioned, and garnished with a myriad of accoutrements and extra hot sauce, which I'd asked for. This was scrum-diddly-umptious and I ate as much as my belly could take. You can never go wrong with stir-fried noodles. I absolutely will be stopping by here again to try more menu items the next time I am in town. 10/10 recommend to all plant-based folks!

Korina M.

Yelp
This has become one of my usual spots for a late lunch / early dinner during my work break. The portions are great, the presentation is beautiful. In particular I like the bibimbap, the BBQ mac, the corn esquites, and the green goblin sauce. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the food is VERYYYY salty, especially the meat substitutes. I am not normally one to complain about salt. I like salt. But sometimes the salt levels in these dishes are really overpowering -- I once couldn't finish my soba noodle bowl because all I could taste was salt and char. Please please please consider revisiting your salt levels

Overall, if you are a vegetarian and looking for a delicious plant-based meal, Plant Dx is definitely worth a visit when you are in Portland.

Yelp
I live pretty close so I've been here several times over the past couple years and gotten most items on the menu but everything always hits so hard, their Mac and cheeses just feel like comfort, they are so good and they make me so happy every time, the fried rice is amazing, and the arepas come and go on their menu but they are delicious. Also I usually see the same couple guys that work here and they are so nice as well. This is definitely one of my favorite food carts in Portland and as a bonus I don't have to feel bad about what I'm eating because it's vegan. If you're nearby I would definitely try it out, trust me you will not be disappointed.

Lisa G.

Yelp
At the end of our vacation we wanted a healthy veggie meal, but rather than the usual stir fry we ate at Planted PDX and LOVED it. Such tasty dishes with nuanced spices! The fried rice was delicious and the spicy noodles were reasonably hot yet not overwhelming. The service was courteous and pretty quick. This is a food truck so ambiance is somewhat weather dependent and parking can be tight in their small lot. However, this ranks as one of my favorite places on our trip to Portland.

Abbie R.

Yelp
Well worth it. Puts other vegan places to shame with amazing sauces and flavors. I eat animal products, and still crave this bbq mac constantly!! Insane portions, I always get two meals out of one here.

Marc F.

Yelp
Planted anew Is the Climax we all can share Creamy cashew Every bite I write my review And if I can't find my gator gold It just wouldn't be square Planted anew Is the Climax we all can share Chimichurri on my mind Your Slaw is so rare Green Goblin sauce is a feeling I just can't compare And if I can't hold Arepa Mac chard rainbow somewhere 'Cause Planted anew Is the Climax we all can share

Odulami B.

Yelp
In an attempt to find healthier eating options, Planted PDX had been Recurring suggestion from friends. I had a chance to sample the yakisoba, fried rice and vermicelli noodles. The rice was hands down the best bet but the others were flavorful as well. A great sot to bike to on a nice day and a short jaunt from Multnomah Village.

Alyssa R.

Yelp
this place is amazing you guys need to try it. vegan food is hit or miss for me but this was delicious

Sarah C.

Yelp
This food cart is amazing!!! I'll always order frijoles y papas, it has an avocado sauce which is the best! Ask for napkins :) The employees there are nice and super fast. Thanks guys!

Jackie M.

Yelp
I tried this newish cart for the first time last night and enjoyed the quick and easy online ordering and fast pickup. Mac n curls was the only thing I ordered and it was a bizarre mashup of flavors that could've been good. Unfortunately, the flavor of the curls was a little flat like it just needed more balance because aside from a little heat, it was pretty blah. Given the wide geographical range of their menu choices, I should have realized the food was going to be weird. Most every place that attempts to make a dish from every continent does so poorly. This was no exception. To summarize, it was fine, but I do not have the urge to try anything else on the menu. If you enjoy watered down versions of other cultures' food, you'll love it!

Julia G.

Yelp
Delicious! Drove by once and saw live music. Cool! Looks like lots of folks pick up food in their daily walk. Gives the place a nice "neighborhood hangout" feel.

Julie A.

Yelp
I'm surprised this place gets such good reviews. I used to be a regular customer until they gave me very burnt rice a couple of years ago. Last night I needed something in a hurry and got the fried rice and rice noodle salad. Both dishes were mediocre and I was embarrassed to serve them to my boyfriend. I wish the food was better because I live only three blocks away.

Julia S.

Yelp
This Fried Rice is the truth. Full of flavors and the tempeh has good texture. Get sum!!

Matt B.

Yelp
I only tried one dish here, but damn was it impressive! I ordered the spicy sesame soba ($11) online and it was ready at the requested time. The dish is dan dan noodles-inspired, coming with crispy veggies, a spicy tempeh saozi, a side of radish, and homemade chili oil. What a delectable mix! The noodles were cooked perfectly, the cucumber and celery give everything a nice crunch, the tempeh crumble is divine, and the sauce is just perfect, with everything in balance. Couldn't ask for better. Awesome stuff. I will have to return to try their other things. Highly recommended.

Mali M.

Yelp
great meal and service. plant based food cart with nice seating and compostable to go containers. highly recommend!

Scott N.

Yelp
Great place. It's all vegan and plant based, but sure to satisfy everybody along the vegan-to-carnivore spectrum. The BBQ Mac is KY personal favorite.

Chris S.

Yelp
Great vegan food! The Mac and cheese was amazing. Highly recommend for everyone who misses comfort food.

Lauren Y.

Yelp
Good food, nice service. Would definitely come back and try the other dishes. bibimbap and vermicelli bowl hit the spot

Alex G.

Yelp
Excellent, excellent, excellent food! It tastes so good. I'm going to try to order everything in the next coming month.

Elvina A.

Yelp
Came to eat here after landing from San Diego into Oregon. The fried rice photo is what sold me. THIS PLACE IS BOMB!!! I've tried Gratitude Cafe in Sac town, Naked Cafe in San Diego..& this vegan spots beats all those places ! Staff was very kind and helpful as well with explaining the menu :). Def a spot to try ! If I lived locally I would def head over. There is a table and parking

Kris C.

Yelp
This vegan food truck is so delicious! We just moved to Portland and while exploring Multnomah Village did a search for vegan food in the area. Very happy to have found Planted, and as I write this review I'm getting hungry and can't wait to eat there again! I ordered the lettuce wrap combo and my husband had the arepas. Truly wonderful, fresh healthy and yummy. Plus the truck itself is gorgeous, and there are picnic tables and lots of parking too. I will definitely eat here again!

Aurora D.

Yelp
Amazing flavorful food, good size portions for the prices. For $37 we ate heartily and brought back leftovers. Glad I ordered online, as there was a steady stream of people coming and going. Cooks wearing masks, and the space looked spotless. Limited parking and few tables. I'd go back anytime and try the other two items!

Dyl P.

Yelp
Really good food! I really like their vegan mac and cheese, especially with the Korean BBQ-style toppings!

Jessica W.

Yelp
I am so so happy to have stumbled across this place today! Vegan food is damn near non existent in this area, but I'm so glad that's changed. I had the Mac n' Curls and it was delicious! Such a delicious and flavorful spin on a classic that I will definitely have again once I've worked my way through the rest of the menu. Seriously, check this place out if you're ever in the area. Judging b

Kaitlin M.

Yelp
Wow wow wow! I don't think my picture does enough justice to how delicious the food was but this place is just amazing! I'm always looking for new plant-based restaurants to try and I will definitely be coming back here very soon!!

Malcolm S.

Yelp
Would highly recommend this spot, plant based or not. I have now tried everything on their menu and enjoy all of it. My personal favorites are the falafel style Arepa and the deluxe fried rice, but you truly can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Rinat R.

Yelp
Yes please! We had the Arepas falafel style and mac&curles! It's all very fresh, you can tell how professional the chef is by the perfect texture and taste of everything! Wow!!!

Lynn B.

Yelp
Recently moved into the neighborhood. After a walk Through Gabriel park I discovered Planted PDX. I ordered the Arepas Combo. This was amazing! I thought the portion size and quality was outstanding. I was able to order online and pay with Apple Pay. Very easy. The cart and grounds was very attractive.

Yelp
I bought their pumpkin soup on Square (a takeout order) and they gave me a bean chili soup instead? I'm not saying that I disliked the bean chili soup, however, they just slipped in a different soup that I didn't purchase because they ran out of the pumpkin soup that evening. I didn't appreciate that. I wish that they had candidly told me that they were all out of the pumpkin soup and just asked if I'd like the bean chili soup instead. I called to complain about this, the next day, and they said that they'd give me a complimentary pumpkin soup to make up for this error. So, I drove back for the pumpkin soup (the one with the masa corn dumplings). Unfortunately, the pumpkin soup that they had on that day wasn't the same pumpkin soup that I like. It wasn't very good...I really wanted their original pumpkin soup with the corn masa dumplings (that I tried on my first visit here). The pumpkin soup that they had on that day was marginal at best - I had less than half of it and threw the rest away.

Trinity B.

Yelp
One of my favorite vegan food carts. Not a huge selection, but the food makes up for the short menu. Delish, Cheap, Fresh, and a spot that will definitely be in my takeout mix!

Emma D.

Yelp
Just had the black bean arupa and it was so good! Lots of flavor and was very filling, though I would have gladly eaten a second had I ordered the two deal. Friendly, and was able to have my dogs with me in the outdoor seating. Doggie biscuit given. :) will be back for this quick yummy meal!

Corey C.

Yelp
Very cute cart in an east to access location. Plenty of parking in the immediate vicinity for a quick pick up. I ordered online which was very easy to do. I even got a text when my order was ready. Staff was kind and personable. I had the vermicelli noodles which were amazing. The greens were fresh and added a nice crunch to the salad. The tempeh was very well seasoned and they weren't shy with the portion of tempeh either. The sauce was delicious and I could easily eat this again and again. Looking forward to my next visit to try another item on the menu.

Linda H.

Yelp
I was starving and found this food truck on Yelp. It's a really nice looking food truck made to look like a little ranch house with a comfortable patio and plantings. I had a fantastic 'papa sandwich and took one to my son. I will be back for sure. Nice menu selections. Meticulous. Very masked up and a great find. A big plus for the area.

Angel S.

Yelp
esquites deluxe was so good and fresh. wish the green goblin sauce was spicier but thats because i enjoy setting my mouth on fire. cute little spot :)

Jacqueline Y.

Yelp
Consistently amazing food and service. I come here every time I'm in the area, and hope they expand in the future!

W B.

Yelp
4.5 stars - Tried this today for the first time. It's delicious. I got the yakisoba noodles and the falafel arepa. It was enough for 1.75 meals (I am a big eater, though). The prices and portions are good. I thought the flavor on the yakisoba noodles was awesome! And I loved the texture, but I wished it had more veggies (that's a personal preference, and doesn't reflect on the establishment). For the arepa, it was a little more bland than expected but the green sauce really did the trick. It's a must. Im looking forward to trying more dishes soon, especially the chori arepa and the spicy yakisoba. Yum! I ordered ahead and took a walk while waiting. It was convenient and the food was ready on time. Enjoy!

Sarah H.

Yelp
My new obsession! I'm beyond excited this cute food cart has "planted" in our neighborhood Absolutely delicious Arepas, can't wait to try everything! And SUPER affordable. AND they give back to the community..it's a win-win-win.

Cy B.

Yelp
Ate the food too fast to take a picture. We got the choriso arepa, they were phenomenal. We especially loved the green sauce that came with! We got the barbecue mac. Usually I'm not one for fake meats but it paired great with the cheese sauce and greens. And we also got the falafel salad. The falafel itself was a little crispy but I ended up liking it better for that. The salad was fresh and perfectly dressed. All in all, we will be back to enjoy their food again!

Deirdre J.

Yelp
Love this place ! I got the Spicy Yakisoba and Lettuce Wrap Combo really loved the spices that are in the yakisoba. Try everything at least once !

levine d.

Yelp
Excellent fresh vegan dishes with great flavor! Order online ahead and pick up at window! Good volume for the price also!

Emily L.

Yelp
You really can't go wrong with anything from this food cart. I have tried 75% of the menu and have yet to find something I wouldn't eat again. My non-vegan family members were equally impressed with the grub here. 10/10 recommend going for the fried rice if you're a first timer, its unbelievably good-- like the best Asian food you've ever had good. I am usually someone who doesn't order things with fake meat alternatives on them like soy curls, but these guys have perfected their dishes. The textures and flavors are unbeatable. I would recommend ordering online and waiting a little bit past the time your order will be ready, they are new and popular so sometimes it can take a bit but man it is WORTH IT.
