Fast-Casual Vegan Restaurant PlantPub Opens in Cambridge’s Kendall Square - Eater Boston

"PlantPub is a fast-casual restaurant in Kendall Square, Cambridge, offering 'pub food for the modern world' that is fully vegan. The menu includes familiar items like burgers, beers, pizza, and soft serve, all plant-based. Chef Mary Dumont and partner Pat McAuley aim to make vegan food approachable to everyone, not just those who typically eat plant-based. The beverage menu includes craft beers, vegan wines, and nonalcoholic options like CBD-infused seltzer and adaptogenic cocktails." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

My husband and I tried the veggie burger, chicken sandwich, tater tots, french fries, and soft serve ice cream. The beer selection was excellent. I found the Buffalo chicken sandwich to be a little bland. The veggie patty was very flavorful however. The tots and fries were also very yummy! The ice cream was definitely the highlight of the meal as vegan soft serve is hard to come by! Plant Pub doesn’t lean into the “pub” style in their name. It’s more modern fast casual with no table service. I would have preferred a more pub atmosphere with a real bar and more high top tables.

VEGAN SOFT SERVE. 10/10. Had to triple-check it was non-dairy, that’s how convincing it was. Five stars just for that item. Nachos, fries, and burgers all pretty decent, definitely decadent enough to be an easy sell for non-vegans. A little too salty, but that’s pub food. They’ve got a small amount of indoor seating, it’s counter service and comes out very fast. Also outdoor dining with fire lamps! Appreciate the variety of drinks, including ciders, beers, hard kombucha, and lots of fun non-alcoholic options.

There aren't a lot of plant-based restaurants in Boston, and Plant pub stands out with its unconventional approach to plant-based food. The place doesn't feel like a typical pub, but during the warmer seasons, their patio is a great place to stop by for drinks with some plant-based pizza and burgers. Although a bit pricey, all the burgers I tried were delicious, and they were especially on point with the sauces. Their pizza and fries were also decent, and the wild mushroom truffle pizza has been one of my go-tos. The only underwhelming menus were their cauliflower wings and their ramen bowl. Both the buffalo and Korean bbq sauces were good, but the cauliflowers inside the batters were often too moist that they broke apart too easily. Ramen bowl with shitake mushroom broth was okay, but it wasn't worth its price tag. Definitely worth checking out if you're into vegan food, but I would recommend focusing on their burgers and pizzas.

Very flavorful and delicious! Everything is plant-based and tastes just as good (or better) than typical pub food! Delicious for vegans and non vegans. The restaurant is small and cozy and the staff were friendly. Everything we got was great; the BBQ pizza was especially delicious! Portion sizes were good as well. Will definitely come back and try more of the menu!

Although I didn’t enjoy my food, I’d give this place a second try based on my friend’s experience. There was a bit of a wait which is fine, but there wasn’t a menu above the ordering counter, so you had to crane your neck to see menu. (There was an off tv closer to the counter, so I imagine that used to show a menu too. But it was off when I was there) There is limited seating. Inside has a few high seat tables, and there are benches outside. Be prepared to share a bench if you choose to sit outside. Which is totally fine but can make it difficult if you come during a busy time and have to find seating for your group. I got the margarita pizza and an Oreo frappe. The pizza was just okay. You definitely had the odd texture of a non-dairy cheese. There was a lot of oil too. The frappe also had a bit of a non-dairy aftertaste, but I couldn’t place the specific non-dairy milk. There wasn’t a strong Oreo taste either. It also came significantly later than my pizza, to the point that I had to ask the server if my frappe was still coming or not. The reason I’d be willing to try this place again is because my friend really enjoyed her meal. She got a burger and fries. So I’d be willing to give Plant Pub a second shot if I got something different. Will update this review if I get something different.

Google
Outstanding. The truffle pizza was prob the best pizza we’ve ever had. The chicken sandwich was so flavorful. Cesar salad on point. Multiple NA drink options. Sad the soft serve machine was down :( looking forward.

Google
Most delicious food. Great presentation and textures. One of the best plants based restaurants in Boston. One downside is that the garlic fingers were very pizza like. Kind of misleading menu item, but it was still tasty. And the prices are up there. 🤑

Google
Honestly was surprised at how pretty good this place was as I’m not vegan or vegetarian, just wanted to try something new. The chicken quesadilla was good had some flavor to it & wasn’t bad at all. I also got the classic burger which was also good, I could taste the difference but it wasn’t any issue as everything was great & would def recommend it if you are in the area

Yelp
Such delicious and fast vegan food. Street parking is available, but construction makes it a little hard to get there currently. The space is cute and has a heated outdoor patio with more seating than inside. Tables and stools are available. Menu is both digital and printed. They were out of several items when we arrived at 7 on a Thursday night. Still plenty of options. Ordered the cauliflower wings, Caesar salad, and ramen bowl. Each dish was unique and not typical. Really great flavors. Packaging and serving ware is sustainable and thoughtful. Looking forward to trying more menu items including the drinks both NA and alcoholic.

Yelp
We enjoyed our food here and eating at their tables outside! Everything is vegan. You order at the counter and the food is brought to you later. We got the Garlic Fingers, Taco Bowl, and the Chicken Quesadilla. Garlic Fingers: Rating: B Very large and came circular, but cut in rectangular slices--basically looks like pizza. Garlicky and cheesy, and came with herbed ranch and marinara on the side to dip. I much preferred the ranch itself to the Garlic Fingers which was a little heavy and also surprisingly big. Taco Bowl: Rating: A This was really good and had just the right balance of all the flavors and components. This is basically a taco salad - a spin on the typical taco salad served in salad chains but with the added protein. I didn't try the Chicken Quesadilla but I heard it was also good!

Yelp
Stopped by for an early lunch today. Taking other reviews into account I think it fair to say that the vibe here isn't really "pub" per se, and it is smaller inside than I expected so seating could be a problem if you go to when it's busy, however that said it is a nice environment and I found the staff to be friendly especially as we pondered the menu and what to order. My wife and I greatly enjoyed our food and I felt it was high quality and very tasty. The price is a a little bit high though for what you get. From a plating standpoint I think it would be nice visually if the burgers or sandwiches had a complimentary side whether side salad, fries, pickles, etc... That said, definitely would come back here again to try the other items on the menu.

Yelp
I absolutely love this spot. It's small, not exactly a fine dining or cozy sit down, but there are some tables outside for a casual dine in. The bar table inside is also good if you're just 1-2 people. But to the food! The solid ones I always go for are the kbbq cauliflower. Hands down the best. Tangy, sweet, spicy, perfect crunch, good ratio of sauce to crispy, not over drenched or soggy, holds up well with the sauce. The flavor is also very suitable for anyone, not too spicy. The fried chickn sandwich was also super bomb and delicious. Love the contrast of the creamy coleslaw and sauce with the Buffalo fried protein. The ramen didn't leave a strong impression with me but it was still a warm and cozy broth. I still needed the kbbq cauliflower to feel satisfied (taste), but the ramen was in no way bad either. Great for a rainy day. I just prefer the vegan ramen at Red White. Overall, this is hands down my number one go-to for dinner or a quick snack. Extremely satisfying and tasty!

Yelp
Fast casual, plant-based food that's tasty but not particularly unique / exciting. You order at the register and then can choose to sit indoors or outdoors, where the food is brought to you. The price is about what you'd expect -- our total for a burger and a pizza came out to ~$40. Food: 1. Kimchi Burger with Impossible patty (3.5/5) 2. Barbecue Pizza (4/5) Note: The burger was pretty good (though I'm still not 100% sold on the taste of the Impossible patty) -- I particularly liked the cheese and pickles! However, I had to dock a few points because it didn't really have much kimchi flavor, so it felt more like a burger with cabbage slaw

Yelp
Good plant-based pub food and decent vegan and gluten free pizza. However, it was out of business the last time we were in Cambridge.

Yelp
I ordered PlantPub the other night and was so excited to see that there was a plant based pub to order from! Unfortunately the food was a bit underwhelming. We got the Classic Burger and the Fried Chicken Sandwich and honestly these were the highlights of the meal. My boyfriend had the Classic Burger and said it was "alright". I enjoyed my Fried Chicken Sandwich, nothing to write home about but I enjoyed it. The real problems came from getting the Korean BBQ Cauliflower Wings and the Queso Fries. The Korean BBQ Cauliflower wings were falling apart and were WAY TOO SALTY. I have lower standards than my boyfriend and even I thought they were inedible from the saltiness. I couldn't taste the Korean bbq flavor at all. Now to the Queso Fries... :( To preface this I THOUGHT that Plant Pub was accomodating for allergies, as on UberEats a lot of the entrees and such had allergy options at the bottom. Unfortunately it isn't a standard set, as they determine which allergies they put as an option based on what's in the food AND what can't be taken out... So if something doesn't have "Nut Allergy", it could be that it doesn't normally have nuts OR that they can't make it without nuts. This honestly can be pretty dangerous without a clear allergy system. Now to the Queso Fries. I got the queso fries and put "nut allergy" in the notes box and when I got the fries they were.... bare asf. They were literally just fries. Normal ass fries. I assume that there was probably cashew milk or something in the vegan cheese but... why not just ask for a substitution? Or even just say they can't make it? I have ordered from plenty of places where I say I have an allergy or preference (vegetarian) and they say they can't make the item without the allergen. I understand that and respect that way more than giving me... Naked Fries. Good service when it comes to allergies doesn't always have to be that you get me the food I ask for, but that you are transparent about what you can and can't do lol Overall the sandwiches would've given this place a 3 star review but the saltiness of the cauliflower wings and the indecent fries brings this down to a 2 star. I don't think I'll be going here again but WOO for plant based representation :) just do it better

Yelp
I have had many vegan cheeseburgers, but I have never paid just shy of $20 for a vegan cheeseburger with no sides. I was actually shocked when my burger came on a tiny plate, not even a pickle on the side. My husband's, a lettuce wrap burger, was even less matched with the price tag. The burgers tasted fine, but a lot of places do a good vegan burger these days. The vibe also did not appeal to me. Calling itself "PlantPub," I envisioned a ... pub. Instead it was a tiny, trendy (think white with black accent and uncomfortable metal chairs) establishment that was brightly lit. It was about as far as what the term "pub" conjures as you can imagine. Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly, but the overall experience was just not what I was looking for.

Yelp
I had the nachos and the wings at this place. It's tucked away on a side street and when I came there was a ton of construction. Over all it was pretty good. Decent flavors with a cool hidden atmosphere. Seemed a lot like a speak easy without the basement. Service was prompt and good. I mean, overall it was good! My only veggie beef was it was a bit pricey for what it was but, I get it; things are expensive these days.

Yelp
Plant pub was amazing and did not disappoint!!! It was amazing. If you are in Cambridge, you must stop by and pick up a bite to eat. The food is amazing and the service was fast and accurate. The environment is clean and well done!

Yelp
Next time I'm in town I will for sure head back here. Yum, yum and yum !! It's a small spot, casual, clean with good vegan food. You order at counter pay and have a seat. Food will be brought out to you. Enjoy

Yelp
The Quick: vegan junk food is my kryptonite! The kimchi cauliflower was amazing and massive! Definitely a meal on its own or split with friends so you can try more delicious things. I didn't love the garden burger, but the cauliflower was so incredible that this review is still 5 out of 5 for sure. Looking forward to going back

Yelp
Since this place opened, I have come here for the Buffalo chicken sandwich, which was consistently crispy with large amount of crispy batter all around it, which made it one of a kind. The Buffalo chicken pizza and quesadillas are also really good. However, at least as of last several months, the Buffalo chicken sandwich isn't what it used to be. It's a mediocre patty with a small amount of breading, lacking in the crunch it used to have, which was the perhaps the best sandwich of its kind I had ever had (in terms of vegan chicken sandwiches). I do not know why they changed the recipe for the worse. Earlier this week, I had the Shake Shack Plant Shack where you can see real vegetables and price was $8 lower and honestly it was tastier than the new version of the Plant Pub Buffalo Chicken Sandwhich, which is a bit sad as I wanted to prefer the local business that sells all vegan food. I still like Plant Pub, but it's no longer crave worthy as it once was. I even tried reaching out via email a couple months ago about the recipe change, but no one even replied. Hopefully things change back for the better.

Yelp
3.5 stars Came here on a whim when looking for food in the Kendall area - overall it was decent but probably would not revisit too soon. We tried their cauliflower bites, the kimchi burger, and the guacamole burger. The cauliflower was definitely the standout - the batter was super crispy and thick when it was served, although after a few minutes it got a little soggy. The kimchi burger did not have a strong kimchi taste, and overall the burgers just tasted like normal burgers. The fake pulled pork did add a nice other dimension to the guac burger though. The establishment itself was quite small inside with just a few tables and a few larger outdoor tables and didn't give much of a "pub" vibe, but we happened to pass by their other location in Fenway the other day and their space seemed much larger and much more like an actual gathering place to eat and drink with friends. If you are looking for a brewery feel with vegan options, you would be much better off going to Fenway.

Yelp
I really wanted to love PlantPub because I was really drawn to the menu, but the food was overwhelmingly salty. I ordered the Korean BBQ Cauliflower Wings. The first few bites were good, but after a while, the saltyness was too much for me. The cauliflower itself was tender on the inside, but it just needed less salt and more sweetness or citrus or ginger. I also ordered the Wild Mushroom and Truffle Pizza. The saltyness of the pizza also overpowered the truffle taste, but the mushrooms and dough/crust were fine. The staff were super nice and friendly, and our food came out relatively fast. Probably won't order the same things again, but I'm really curious about ordering their other options when I come back.

Yelp
First off, I am not Vegan but my girlfriend is and we visited after a trip to MOS. The food is all vegan, and it ranges from classic American style dishes like pizza and burgers, to Ramen.... Lots of good options, and all of the food that I tried was great. I'd be hard pressed to tell whether or not something was vegan, all of it was quite good. The service was great, I ordered at the front on a tablet, and the food was brought out to us maybe 10-15 mins later max. The restaurant has a nice outdoor seating area with a couple of tables with flowers/trees surrounding the area. Overall great restaurant, good food and service.

Yelp
today was my 2 year vegan anniversary!! i've heard such amazing things about plantpub and have been following them on IG for so long that i knew it was the perfect occasion to finally make my way to cambridge and celebrate at plantpub! it's much smaller and cozier than i imagined! there's 3 tables and a bar inside and then 4 large outside tables! felt very comfortable and cozy- but if it's busy i'd imagine i might be hard to find a table. we sat outside and loved having a heater by us! it was perfect!! my friends aren't vegan and absolutely loved the food!!! we ordered the fried cauliflower wings with Korean BBQ with kimchi aioli, loaded nachos, classic caesar with buffalo chicken, wild mushroom and truffle pizza and a Margherita pizza! we all shared because everything was so delicious! as a vegan, i can never try my friends food because i can't eat it but it was so refreshing to try everything because it's 100% plant based! heart happy! we will definitely be coming back to try every single thing on the menu. i'm so happy plantpub is on doordash because i'll be craving this all the time! everything was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was amazing! can't wait to come again

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere! This place is a whole vibe! Ordered the Street Corn pizza and queso fries. The best queso vegan fries I've ever had - to date. It's like they were almost cooked to a golden perfection. The pizza.. wanted to try something different.. and I'm glad I did. Who'd ever think corn would be good on pizza?!! Two enthusiastic thumbs way up!! This will most definitely be a stop of mine next time I'm in the city visiting. Definitely recommend #PlantPub!

Yelp
I came here to try it out and I can't wait to go back. I had never had an Impossible Burger before and I was so pleasantly surprised about how good it was! I had the kimchi burger with an Impossible patty and a side of the queso fries. My only complaint about it all was the burger was quite messy to eat and a bit salty (but nothing a beer didn't balance out), other than that everything was great. I'd like to have a special mention to the queso fries. I will definitely go back just for those. As others have noted, there isn't much seating inside, but once it warms up there are a few large tables outside that will easily triple the amounts of seats available.

Yelp
My wife and I were staying not too far from this location and we don't eat meat on Friday's so it seemed like the perfect place to check out. Inside is small but has a few seats, outside has 4 large benches that are covered, cool ambiance in a nice modern area. They have beers, cbd seltzer and more, also there is self serve water with cups. It's fairly straightforward you order either at the kiosk or with someone at the register. They have some tasty items and big servings, we went with the garlic fingers which is shaped like a pizza, it's pretty much dough with onion, scallion and garlic with dipping sauce, it was good but the serving size was way more than we could eat. The cauliflower Korean bbq "wings" were good and tasty, perfectly crispy and awesome, we both had veggie burgers and while decent the cheese was weird, I wish there was an option for non vegan cheese here, my wife had the classic burger and I had the kimchi burger. I did enjoy the options and it is 100% plant based, I wasn't the biggest fan of the food but it's a good option for others who are, the service was great and staff was very nice.

Yelp
Food and beers were awesome. I had the Japanese ginger beer and it was fabulous. We split the chill cheese fries and the Banh Mi. Generous portions, cooked perfectly. We'd go back in a heartbeat- highly recommend. (Entirely vegan...so it's amazing!) The soft serve machine was down, but we couldn't have managed desert anyhow - we were so full! Oh! And the staff were so kind and friendly - thanks everyone! (Apparently I only took photos of the beer, haha, sorry! I was hungry! Ha!)

Yelp
Went on a Wednesday evening less than an hour before closing during its first week open and both indoor and outdoor patio seating were full. So looks like there has been some buzz about PlantPub coming to Kendall Sq. Well, I'm happy to report that the service is really friendly and quite fast. Case in point: they forgot the jalapeños on our plate of nachos and when we asked for some jalapeños on the side they just made an entirely new plate for us. The food is okay but for being plant based I was really hoping for a more vegetable-forward menu. Instead, there is the Impossible Patty, "chicken" and "pulled pork" (no explanation given for what these are made of) and a bunch of items with tofu or mushrooms (which are not veggies!), including their house-made burger patty. Also, this place was touted as a pub that would highlight local craft beers but I was disappointed that they don't have any on tap, only cans.

Yelp
Heard about this new popping place and thought we would check it out. Started off with the loaded nachos which were HUGE and super fresh toppings. Also got the cauliflower "wings" w/ the Korean BBQ flavor- kind of tasted like general tso's outside with yummy cauliflower inside. For the main course, we had margherita and street corn pizzas. Pizza was on the thinner size and just the right amount of crisp to droop ratio. Dough had great chew. Pizza came out HOT - the first bite was an explosion of literal heat and flavor. Took me by surprise, cheese dripped onto my chin and burned my skin a little. Overall, great experience. Staff was attentive and friendly. They also have outdoor seating w/ heat lamps which we took up given pandemic. Will be coming back.

Yelp
Super glad I got to try this new-ish spot in Cambridge during my last visit to Boston. This is the kind of spot I always wished was around when I was living there. The name really tells it all - this place has a good beer selection while also serving delicious plant-based fare. Plantpub is an easy walk from the Kendall Sq T and easy to find. The space inside is somewhat on the small side, but I had no trouble finding a seat on a Tuesday night. It has a modern look (certainly not very old school Boston pub looking) but I figured as much for the area and the concept. You place your order at the counter and then they'll bring your food over. There's a lot to choose from and the burgers look incredible. However, I was feeling like something slightly healthier so I opted for the chicken tahini bowl, as well as the buffalo cauliflower. The chicken tahini bowl met my expectations, though I think I would have preferred a little more sauce (as the kale hadn't been massaged.) However, the buffalo cauliflower was amazing--the sauce and the dip were both excellent. As for beer, there was a lot to choose from but I ultimately went with an ipa from a Maine brewery. Note: none of their beer is on tap, but that didn't affect my experience personally. Reasonably priced and quick, this is definitely a place I would recommend if you're looking for a solid plant-based dinner.

Yelp
Solid new vegan eats in Kendall Square. I went opening day and had the barbecue pizza, which was good - the vegan cheese was the stretchy daiya kind, not nut cheese. Pizza was a 4, 4.5 out of 5 - nice crust, properly cooked, good but nothing crazy going on. Today I went back and tried the fried chicken / chickpea bowl, which was excellent, and the sweet potato tots which were exceptional. The fried chicken was a vegan fried chicken patty diced up on top of greens, sauce, chickpeas, radishes, tahini, etc. Highly recommend the tots as a side with almost any dish. I also tried the ice cream sandwich, which was decent and had kind of hard frozen soft serve squished between two cookies. Good stuff, I probably could have skipped it though because the fried chicken salad bowl and sweet tots were so filling. Staff is friendly, restaurant space is small and clean with a few counter seats and nice little outside eating area (covered). Plenty of "overflow" space in the lawn in front of the restaurant. Still waiting to try the burger, honestly though I'm ready to be less impressed with this because almost every place has a good veggie burger now thanks to beyond/impossible. However, the stock photo of their burger they've featured in ads looks AMAZING, massive two patty burger expertly layered up, but I'm a bit dubious whether that's what they're serving up (ready to be proven wrong though!!) If I had any criticisms, they would be: 1. It's a little on the expensive side - but this is totally fine as it's KENDALL SQUARE, people there can afford it. 2. The dishes are good but don't distinguish themselves massively. There's lots more competition ini the veg/vegan space than years ago, and honestly while I'm glad a new space opened up instead of another Beatnic location, there's not THAT big of a difference. Really, the only aspect I see PlantPub particularly distinguishing itself with, is the massive booze selection. This is nice for people going out to lunch/meals after work with colleagues, but in order to really take advantage of that, I'd think they'd want more eat-in seating, OR maybe people can get bowls and go sit out on the lawn? Regardless, I Think Kendall Square was long overdue a vegan place like this, I'm glad one opened, and will be back again soon!

Yelp
This food is the best plant-based food that is meant to mimic traditional meat pub dishes. The Buffalo chicken sandwich is amazing!! My 2 vegetarian kids thought this was the best food they have had in years.

Yelp
Lots of hype surrounds PlantPub right now. While it's great to have more plant-based options in the Boston metro, it seems like the trend is to comfort / junk food rather than healthy or international flavors. This is ok, just would like to see some greater variety. That all said, my review is about PlanPub and not the state of new restaurants, so I'll focus on that. We ordered 2 sandwiches, nachos, and garlic fingers. The total cost of all of this was around $80. The nachos were rather uninspired. They really could've benefitted with more than the 2 tablespoons of guacamole and light drizzle of meh-salsa. This left the cheese sauce, beans, and crumbles to do the heavy lifting that they weren't up to the task to do. The garlic fingers were ok, again nothing to write home about. They could've done with more garlic richness. The included herbed ranch was great while the "basil marinara" was more reminiscent of ketchup. At $15 we should've got a pizza to try. The standouts were definitely the sandwiches. We had "pulled pork" & buffalo chicken sandwiches. Both were quite good. At $15-$16 they're pretty pricey for their size. Neither included anything other than the sandwich. We considered staying for dessert, but at $8 for a small cup of soft serve, we decided that our money would be better spent over at Fomu. The service was quite friendly and fast. The overall vibe inside their tiny pub is upbeat. It's a tiny place. Don't plan on spending the evening. It's not a pub in that sense. Overall, it's good, but not $80 good for the amount of food we had. Other options in town that are in the same vein are more exciting for less $$ ie. Rhythm & Wraps, Veggie Galaxy, Oasis Veggie Parlor, Stoked, Lulu Green, Saus, Be Good, Clover, Veggie Grill, etc etc. Hopefully, they find a way to shine as they get into their stride. We'll be rooting for them.

Yelp
The korean barbecue chicken sandwich was incredible! We also split the margarita pizza and the vegan cheese was quite melty but had a kind of meh flavor. I liked it though and the outdoor seating was great!
google avatar

Catherine G.

Yelp
Best vegan food in the area. I was kind of bummed that the inside wasn't very "pub-like." Inside seating is limited but the food is so worth it and comes out quickly. My only complaint is one I share with other reviewers - the Korean cauliflower wings are way too salty. They weren't always like this and were our favorite thing on the menu. But the last couple times we've ordered delivery, they were inedible. I also love a good vegan soft serve that doesn't taste like coconut.

Yelp
So excited that plant based food is becoming normalized and Plant Pub is leading the way!

Clover C.

Yelp
The main criticism I have for PlantPub is that it is way overpriced for what it is. The food we had was fine, but it wasn't great. If I'm paying nearly $20 for a burger (vegan or not w/out any sides), it ought to be wonderful. I get it, rent is expensive. But it was kind of ridiculous. Expect 3 burgers, 3 non-alcoholic drinks, and 2 sides to run you around $100. The small amount of inside seating is horribly uncomfortable. Picnic tables outside seemed like they would have been a bit better, but were full. Overall, I was personally underwhelmed. But if you require vegan food, are in the area, and don't mind overpaying, then you should find it adequate. Something positive I can add is that the guy working the counter (pulling triple duty bringing the food and bussing) was very kind.

Mark P.

Yelp
With outstanding pizza, great staff, and quick service . . . what's not to love? BTW, the pizza was huge so plan on taking some home.

Yelp
Best spot in Cambridge to pop in for a bite, I would drive 2 hours to eat here again. Buffalo chicken pizza is a must, the vanilla frappe and the Korean style cauliflower wings are my staples.

Yelp
Best gluten free dairy free pizza I've ever had! Hubby was so skeptical it was GF he made me ask the waitress. We'll be back very soon!

Yelp
Food was very tasty and I know it's good for you. We had, loaded nachos, veggie burger and korean bbq cauliflower. Delicious. Great beer selection too.

Yelp
This place has a ton of options that vegans and non-vegans will enjoy. It is counter serve and there are some indoor and outdoor tables. The price is good. I didn't find the kimchi burger to have much kimchi flavor but I really enjoyed all the other items.

Yelp
There aren't that many vegan places in and around Boston so I'm ecstatic I found this place. Everything tasted amazing and really satisfied my craving for foods I haven't eaten since going Vegan. I highly recommend the Buffalo chicken sandwich. They have a good selection of beer as well. The place is small so it might be hard to get a seat when it's busy but the wait is worth it.

Yelp
I love vegan places because they usually find innovative ways to make tofu and veggies not boring or bland. This place however makes no attempt at trying to make dishes that are unique. I ordered a fried Caesar chik'n wrap and the chik'n was just a piece of tofu that was battered and fried. There was no seasoning whatsoever. It's super over priced but I guess that's Kendall Square. Honestly I expected a little more.

Yelp
If you are craving heavy, fast food/pub style food, this is the place to go. A lot of things on the menu are fried, so it's definitely not trying to be "healthy" in any way, and that's okay. The kimchi burger was super messy to eat, but that's how you know it's definitely not dry haha. There wasn't a super strong kimchi flavor- just a slightly more vinegary taste on a yummy cheeseburger burger from the pickled veggies. The sweet potato fries were the best part of our meal-- medium cut so you could actually enjoy some sweet potato flavor along with the crunch. The ramen was very strongly mushroom flavored with a nonstandard lemongrass mushroom broth. I wasn't a huge fan just because I was expecting something more miso-y or Asian flavored, but I still finished it all. The corn inside all sank to the bottom but the little kernels you could catch did add a nice sweetness. I probably won't come back unless I'm craving sweet potato fries, but I would still recommend this place to anyone (vegans and omnivores alike) to satisfy a fast food craving.

Yelp
Very very expensive, and poor communications, but healthy and delicious offerings. I certainly wish them good luck! Nice space in the Fenway, wish they could have found a way to stay open in the off-season.

Yelp
I learned about PlantPub's opening last week via the foodie social media grapevine. Earlier this week my friends and I converged on its Kendall Square location like white on rice, with a big hankering for plants and beer. The four of us were not disappointed, as we bagged one of the few tables (there aren't many, you have to be lucky or early) and worked through a nice chunk of the non-pizza menu: kimchee/Impossible burger, mushroom Banh Mi, fried pickles, and cauliflower wings. All of the food was super fresh, nicely textured, and very tasty, with the burger and cauliflower wings being the two stand-outs IMO. Canned beer selection was eclectic and quite good, with choices I have not seen elsewhere. (some folks may prefer a tap for the feels, but fresh beer in a can is just fine with me, and less subject to tap maintenance issues). The staff at Plantpub are really into the concept and so very friendly; it was nice to see that kind of enthusiasm. We left with a good feeling and some very tasty plants in our bellies. Sorry, no photos to share, we were too busy taking care of bizness!

Yelp
Plant-based for the Pats game! We tried everything and loved it all. Nachos, buffalo wings, and kimchi burger with veggie patty were definitely the fan favorites! Frappes in the fridge for half time... let's go Pats! And let's go PLANTPUB!

Yelp
The buffalo chick sandwich was good. Was it worth the $17 to get me to come back? No. No one was there when we arrived. It was a self order POS screen. The place would fit 5-6 people max to stand or sit on stools alongside the windows. There are 2-3 communal Picnic tables outside. The older blond lady, Mary, was very rude and inconsiderate considering we were the only customers. We came out of our way to specifically try out the food and prospect her business. I asked 2-3 simple questions and was rudely cut off each time with a passive aggressive response. She said the business was closing down. Unfortunately, I had ordered my food prior to speaking with her. When she dropped off the food where we sat, my boss started to ask her about the best way to eating the sandwich and once again was rudely cut off. The lady said she would get us "silverware". Which was a compostable fork and knife. We could care less that it wasn't silverware. It was just the unnecessary attitude and snideness of this person that made the experience shitty.

Yelp
Good. Huge servings. Not any of that who's the most vegan vegan attitude either. And the cheese was tight. All of that in one little corner cafe. Not bad.

Yelp
I am sorry to say that I had the worst bowl of ramen ever at this place. Overcooked, mushy vegetables and noodles in a dark broth that tasted like a whole bottle of soy sauce had been dumped into it. Hoping I just caught them on a bad day, but it was dismal.

Yelp
Every time I tried their pizza ... I ended up with stomach problems that last days ... Would not recommend

Yelp
Plant pub is AMAZING. Not only is all of the food fully vegan but they offer a wide range of nut free, gluten free and soy free options! Not only do they have these options, but they actually taste so good. (The gluten free pizza, insane!). Some of my favorites are the Korean BBQ cauliflower wings, the chicken quesadilla, and the Buffalo chicken Caesar wrap. Plant Pub is available on many delivery platforms, if you are ordering for delivery I recommend you order all of the sauces on the side so your food doesn't get soggy and can reheat best! I recommend coming during the day or week night, as sometimes the weekends can get busy and their first location has limited seating. They offer a selection of non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages! And the staff is super friendly and is able to answer any questions you may have :) can't wait to see Plant Pub expand their business!

Yelp
Making vegan so much easier :) Really glad this place opened. The menu options are great and the food was delicious.
