Plas Dinas Country House

Plas Dinas is very much a country house and not your usual hotel experience. We were surprised when we asked for tea and biscuits on arrival to be told kettle, tea and biscuits in the room! We really wanted to just relax and be looked after. That said the room was spacious with all the amenities you would expect in a high end establishment. Bed enormous and very comfortable, immaculate ensuite with bath and separate shower, big fluffy towels and luxury toiletries, maybe a little OTT for some but true to the photos on the website. |We came to experience the food of Daniel Ap Geraint. This didn’t disappoint. The 9 course tasting menu was superb, using local and seasonal produce and absolutely delicious. It was served by well informed and friendly staff in a relaxed setting. We liked having a choice for starter, main and pud, interspersed with chefs tasty additions. As there are two sittings for dinner it could have felt rushed but this was not the case and we had a very enjoyable evening. After dinner we had a stroll round the delightful gardens which are beautifully kept. |Not a great fan of preordered breakfast so we didn’t fill in form as we never know how hungry we will be in the morning… however breakfast was delicious and we didn’t have to wait long …the eggs Benedict where done to perfection!

This latest accolade is another example of why Plas Dinas Country House & Gun Room Restaurant is so special. |It does feel like you are staying as guests in a private country house and every member of the team are warm and welcoming. They are naturally engaging, interesting to chat with and absolutely delightful. |The rooms and suites are all individually presented and luxurious in a very classy, elegant way. But absolutely gorgeous, with super comfortable beds, bed linen, beautiful wall coverings and drapes. Every feature and fitting is quality with a capital Q and thought out with the guest experience in mind.|As for the restaurant, we loved the dinner menu which is a kind of marriage between a tasting combing with four choices for the 3 main courses. Every dish and entrement was delicious, using superb local produce and careful combinations of favours. Breakfast was wonderful as well. And great service once again from the team. |Set in beautiful grounds, close to Caernarfon and views towards the Menai Straight, I highly recommend a visit.

Came for the festive afternoon tea with my husband in December. Food was plentiful. Good choice of sandwiches, the bread was lovely - light and airy. Plenty of cakes and cute mince pies. The scones were beautiful. The service was good, with attentive staff. Going to book the snowdon afternoon tea soon, and will definitely be returning for the festive afternoon tea next christmas again. Well recommended.

Just had the most wonderful visit to this enchanting stately home with my partner and our dog Murphy. The building itself and the grounds are stunning. Full of rich history and fine details. The staff are incredible and have found that sweet spot of being amazingly attentive, hospitable and personable without it being too much or overly formal. We dined in the Gunroom Resturant which was the best meal we have ever had, so many indescribable flavours. They were also incredible accommodating for our Irish Setter Murphy who stayed in our room while we ate but otherwise was able to enjoy the grounds and drawing room canopy and drinks with us. We would highly recommend a visit here for a delightful stay and hope to visit again sometime in the future. Thank you to the whole staff here who made our stay one we will never forget!

One of the best places in the world!!! Such an amazing find. Everytime I stay, it feels like I’ve had a week away when in reality it’s only been two days. Staying at Plas Dinas is good for my soul and well-being. My partner and I found Plas Dinas about 7 years ago and have been stopping here 3-4 times a year since. Everything about the place is outstanding! Service, value for money, the staff, the owners. Just perfection. Annie and Daniel (and the whole team) have transformed the house and business over the last 5 years. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They go above and beyond in everything they do for their guests. Everything that a flawless - service, staff, rooms, location, views! About a month ago we choose to get married at Plas Dinas and it was the best weekend of our lives. Our guests were pampered, well fed and had a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend stopping here. However, no stop is complete without sampling Chef Daniel’s amazing seasonal menus in The Gunroom. Just divine!

Staff so friendly, professional and well informed. Rooms and bed luxurious. A welcome glass of Amontillado. Bathroom immaculate. 9 course meal superb, absolutely delicious. Entremet, Canapés, veloute, choice of starters, sorbet, choice of mains, pre-dessert, dessert, coffee and petit fours. Wine pairing for starters, mains and desserts and you can choose any or all. Service immaculate.

This was our 3rd stay at Plas Dinas and once again, we were not disappointed! We had booked a 2 night stopover in the fabulous Lady Armstrong Jones room and were shown to the room by Rupert who was obviously very proud of the room refurbishment and the wonderful en-suite bathroom. The evening meals were delicious. We bumped into Chef Daniel one morning and congratulated him on his appearance on The Great British Menu. We had been following his progress during the programme and felt very lucky to meet him in person. A fabulous stay and wonderful hospitality from all members of the team. We will be back!

Everything about Plas Dinas is perfect! The atmosphere, the excellent staff, the beautiful rooms with all the memorabilia. The meal in the Gunroom restaurant was outstanding and such a lovely experience the way it was served. Cannot fault anything!

Plas Dinas is one of those discoveries of a lifetime that just ticks all the right boxes. The standard and the quality of the product that Andy and Julian deliver seemingly effortlessly is what others with years more experience in the industry only dream of. From the feel of this old house and the welcome when you arrive, to your first drink in the magnificent drawing room by a blazing log fire,to the evening meal after a long drive,to your room and your first night's blissful sleep through to your first breakfast..all are top drawer
