Title: “A Flavour Symphony at PLATAPIAN SoHo – Sublime Thai, Served with Soul”
Discovered via Hot-Dinners, I had the pleasure of dining solo at PLATAPIAN SoHo, a stunning new Thai venture from the group behind Patara. Open just around a month, it’s already setting serious culinary standards.
Service: The hostesses were warm, polished and genuinely lovely—service with a constant smile and care. They made the evening feel personal and smooth throughout.
Venue: Design is a total knockout—modern Thai elegance upstairs and downstairs. Ideal for private hires, romantic dates, or refined solo dinners.
My Picks:
NIBBLES:
• Crispy Chicken Skin w/ Garlic & Kaffir Lime (£3.80): Addictive crunch, bright citrus lift.
• Okra Spiced Fritters (£4.50): Crunchy yet light, paired beautifully with the house-made chilli purée. Earthy, fresh, and subtly spiced.
SMALL PLATES:
• Stuffed Snub Nose Chilli (£5.95): A show-stealer. Bold, balanced spice and umami—each bite sublime.
• Miang Kham Scallop (£8.50): Wrap like a mini taco and eat in one bite. Bursts of sweet-salty-freshness with a perfect scallop.
VEG:
• Chargrilled Cabbage w/ Fish Sauce (£9.95): Smoky, tender cabbage meets a mellow, well-balanced fish sauce—nothing salty or overpowering.
MEAT & RICE:
• Minced Chicken w/ Southern Curry & Green Peppercorn (£15.50): Fiery, aromatic, unforgettable. So good I had it twice. Must be paired with Steamed Jasmine Rice.
NOODLES:
• Lobster Tail Pad Thai (£39): Rich, perfectly cooked lobster. Noodles fresh and silky. Ask for chilli flakes if you like heat.
DRINKS:
• Remy Martin XO Double (£28) w/ Cranberry (£2): Smooth luxury.
• Mocktail: Pickled Plum Soda (£7.50): Last one of the day—thankfully! Sweet, sour, fizzy magic.
Nothing was too salty or bland—each dish carried finesse and flavour. A memorable dining experience I’ll absolutely return for.
🚇 Getting There:
• Nearest Tube: Oxford Circus (Central/Bakerloo/Victoria Lines, ~5 mins walk)
• Buses: 55, 73, 98, 390 nearby on Oxford St.
• 🚗 Parking: Free street parking after 6:30PM Mon–Sat, free all day Sunday. NCP Soho or Q-Park Chinatown for earlier options.
Verdict: Thai food done beautifully, in a space that feels just as special. Highly recommended.
